The older, male parking lot bartender is a total tool. We parked there to have a beer while my MIL and son were playing mini golf across the road. As we're crossing the street to check in and tell them where we are- he yells at us that we can't park there and leave. My husband tells him we're just checking on our family and letting them know we'll be there... he yells back that one of us have to stay on the property. Asshole move 1. My husband stands there until I come back 45 seconds later and we order drinks. I pull out my phone where I have the card holder on the back with some cash and cards. I pull a card out to get to the cash and before I could grab the cash he tells me he doesn't take cards. Asshole move 2. I wasn't trying to use one but okay gramps- calm down. After a while, my MIL and son walk over and are in the gravel parking lot telling us where they're going next. We spoke for maybe a minute. Granted, my son is standing in the GRAVEL PARKING lot because I know better than to bring him on the other side of a half wall of a bar. And the douche bags tells us, he can't be in the parking lot and needs to leave. Needless to say, we didn't drink our beers and left without a cent of a tip. Moved the car and took our business elsewhere. The guys was just an asshole the whole time and honestly I can understand why the bar was empty. Ditch the douche if you want more business. - upgrading from 1 star to 3, because the manager apologized and offered a free drink. While it doesn't change how this man treated us. I realize that as a business owner, sometimes you hire the wrong people and after all the prices were great. $5.50 for two beers. read more

This is such an amazing place!! Great little "dive" Bar!!! we started to come here a few years ago, we live here, the bartender Chase and Gilly that we met here are the reason we keep coming back!!! Outside bar was ok. Beer was cheap. Bartender was very tentative. Great time at this astonishment. For sure come check it out.

My sister and I drank here pretty much every night. You can even buy a ceiling tile to draw on and put up. It has a great dive bar vibe and a liquor store in the back. Pitchers are ice cold and cheap. This is where the locals go and they're friendly. read more

Oh man, I am a fan. This place is smoky and full of locals. We were on a booze run and someone told about how it's a bar/lounge but they also sell liquor so we stopped in to check it out. We were only in there for like three minutes and our clothes smelled like we smoked thirty packs a day. Standard prices on the liquor but the convenience is really what makes this place nice. Really close to everything and it's easy to get in and out of. They had some live music going. It might have been the guy that Rick M. talks about in his review, Russ Hancock because the picture looks really familiar. If I wasn't with the wife and her family, I would have posted up at the bar and tried to hear some stories but we made it fast. Gotta love Manatee County local bars! read more

Ok. Make sure you stay there the whole time without leaving because you will be schooled and your vehicle will be towed!!! I had peeps from out of town here and we love this place but they wanted to walk around a little. We wanted to stay but felt like we couldn't because when we came back to have drinks we were talked to and felt we didn't belong!!! Gave great tips and the parking lot was never full!! read more

5 stars isnt for the food, as I am not sure there is any food, I had to drag my wife in there kicking and screaming, but once she settled down, she really liked the place! Only complaint is the smoking. Being from NJ, we couldnt believe how we much our hair and clothes outgassed smoke after we left. Beer seletion is cheap and good, about 6-8 drafts and nice selection of bottled beers. Our white-haired crooner was excellent. We love this place and wish we had one close to home. read more

A fun, lively and entertaining watering hole! When we come to Florida, we habitually make our way to the Drift In several times during our stay...as a matter of choice. Without fail, it is an absolute blast!! We met one of the outside bartenders, Chase, who is consistently friendly, smiles and is quick with our drinks! She delivered extraordinary service. Drinkers: This may be the only bar on the island that stays open past midnight! Great dive bar! Best bartender on the island, good music, fantastic drink prices with good pours. This is a smoking bar (fine by me!), but if you love a good dive bar, this is your place! This is a local dive bar loaded with character. Established almost a century ago by a group of investors to include Babe Ruth. The documents are framed and displayed for all to see. They smoke here but the tiki bar gives the non smoker some fresh air. The prices are reasonable and the customers are colorful. Not for the meek, but alot of fun. read more
