The Kokonut Hut is exactly the kind of beachside spot you hope to find on vacation. We were seated right away and scored a table at the edge of the beach. The location is hard to beat, with beautiful views of the water. We ordered the Grouper Bites and the Anna Maria salad. It was so good. Traveled all day, got settled in a nice condo. Went to the beach for sunset which was fantastic. Saw lights down the beach and walked there. We had the Mermaid Lemonade, Arancini Bites and Coconut Shrimp. While both were good the Arancini Bites were by far the star!! Absolutely delicious and worth the price. If you decide to go here be sure to have this dish. I may, like us, have you wanting more. We sat outside a covered tiki hut style. This is the place to eat if you want food, beach views, and good vibes. The food is good, but the vibes are what makes this place so special. The cold drinks, music, and tiki hut feel. Our favorite item on the menu is the Brussels sprouts. Now listen, I'm not usually a Brussels sprouts fan, but these are out of this world! Something about their sauce. read more

It literally was brown, tasted like root beer and the limes were old. I was told it was agave, if so, it was the worst agave ever. The food is overpriced and not worth it. Got a wedge salad ($20) and again, not great. I'm not exactly sure how you mess a wedge salad up, but they did. While the view and location is beautiful, there are way better places to go. Liked this place a lot. What's not to like with an awesome sunset setting the perfect ambiance for drinks and dinner? The chicken wings appetizer were delicious. Recommend those highly. Food was generally good; the tacos needed some seasoning or flavoring as they were kind of bland. My husband's chowder and crab cake sandwich were very good as was my nephew's burger. The food and drinks were so yummy! I ordered the chips and dips as an appetizer, which was chips with queso and salsa. For my main entree I ordered coconut shrimp (pictured) and a side house salad. It was very yummy and came with 8 good sized shrimp. The salad was okay, nothing special! And I ordered a Malibu bay breeze bucket to drink, it was delicious! 3 of us came here to grab a light lunch on the beach. They have a really nice setup with alot of tables under a pavilion and umbrellas to give you nice shade. We ordered just a bunch of appetizers to eat. The coconut shrimp, grouper bites, chips and dip, and calamari. I have to say all was cooked excellent and really nice sized portions. You could tell the seafood was fresh and I highly recommend the grouper bites. The service was fast and enjoyable. After you can walk some of the most beautiful beaches in the gulf or check out Anna Marie Island. They do have a giant selection of specialty drinks and beers as well read more

Both stars are for the location and atmosphere. The restaurant is a one hit wonder and they know it. I say this cuz our server never came back to check on us to see how our food was....because they know it's mediocre. Several months later I read a review from guy who experienced the same situation so I believe it's the bartenders usual operational practice. I've been going here for years and supported them during the hurricane. They greatly increased the price of their food and the quality has gone done. The prices are ridiculous. Eat at the Beach House just down the ride for better prices and better quality. They won't even bring water to the tables any longer - water bottles only. I won't be going back. read more

Great location right on the beach. Great fresh grouper. Amazing place to sit and watch people. Free parking if you eat at restaurant ( very tough parking for beach access ). Traffic to get over the bridge is crazy but after that this place is a 10. If you want to spend the day you can pay for parking and still have access to the restaurant. Beach is awesome. read more

The view of the ocean was very nice. My waiter was a polite guy and that's where it ends. We ordered three mixed drinks, coconut shrimp, and a grilled blackened chicken sandwich. Wow we got the shrimp and that's what it was shrimp on plate, my chicken sandwich came not really blackened (maybe a light sprinkle of seasoning) with Swiss cheese barley melted, the chicken breast had a lot of chewy cartilage or whatever thru out, the chicken breast seemed like something you would buy in a freezer, bacon hard as a rock, and to top it all off thick Demi glaze on top?? Wow I think this chicken sandwich might have been one of the worst I ever had. Now my guest wow ordered the shrimp, we'll let's just say by the time we were on our way home yesterday evening it was a nightmare, had to be food poisoning for sure and we ate nothing else that day. Very very sad evening, I'm not sure what's taking place there hygienic wise or in the kitchen, but wow!! The mixed drinks we had were not even close to a hit, weak and very expensive. For the shrimp, sandwich, and 3 drinks $90, very pricey, to be honest I never looked at the bill breakdown I just paid and I still tipped the waiter good anyway because I'm sure it's not his fault. I will 100% never enter this establishment again and I will never recommend it to anyone I know. What shame, such a great location. I unfortunately had a couple bad weekends in regards to eating out. That just means great restaurants and reviews to come in the near future. Amazing experience. It started with out waiter forgetting our drink menu. Then suggesting water (failed to mention they were $4 bottles of water) that we ended up returning. The real deal breaker was the food. Coconut shrimp came out over fried and dark colored, coconut rice was cold, as well as the fresh vegetables that consisted of cabbage, collards and 3 blueberry sized carrots. Fried shrimp plate ordered by another guest in our party also had cold rice and fresh vegetables. 3rd guest in our group ordered a blackened grouper sandwich that was also cold, maybe undercooked? After 10 mins of trying to flag our server down to let him know the food came out cold and we didn't want the sandwich at this point, he said ok I'll talk to the manager to take the sandwich off the bill (as this was the one item that we weren't willing to consume anymore of) and walked away. He immediately comes back to our table and requests to take the sandwich away for "his manager to look at it". He came back with a basket of fries for her dinner. At this point the entire experience was comical and we just wanted to get the hell out of there. I would never come back. There was 12 of us and however each of us disliked our dishes. On the menu is shows a beautiful Lox bagel however when it came it was dissembled and you had to build it yourself for $20. The grits were so disgusting, watered down and no flavor, even salt wouldn't help. Then we also had a pregnant woman who ordered first, she ordered a fruit bowl with honey and tajin. The fruit bowl was forgot about and when it came it also didn't look like the menu, it was dry gross fruit without any tajin or honey. I ordered the gyro expecting freshly carved meat for the menu price. Instead I got preformed meat that is easily obtained at any grocery store in a gyro kit at a fraction of the price. We went for breakfast. The view was beautiful but that was about all I appreciated about it. From the time we sat down we felt like we were a bother to the waitress (there was only about 4 other tables there and other servers). Even the pre-teens noticed the cold vibe she gave. Food was really not great...pancakes had a dry rancid flavor. When it was time to get the check she came over and announced that since we were a "large party" (7 and a toddler) she couldn't split the check, that a 20% gratuity was automatically included (no wonder she didnt care about hospitality), and loudly announced the total (over $220). She never showed us a receipt before asking for payment. Electronic payment device did have a "gratuity included" disclosure but interestingly enough the disclosure was for "large parties" no set number. A very subjective way to charge. We wont return. read more
