We came in for dinner on a Friday night and found Driftwood to be incredibly charming. The decor is dark but homey, perfect for a romantic setting. We started with cocktails (Whistle Pig Rye old fashioned for my husband and I had the La Mariposa). Both were delicious. The Florida lobster starter was our hands down favorite dish. Perfectly cooked and delicious. The local fish ceviche was great as well. We shared the sword fish and that was great too. The only thing we would order again was the side of potatoes (under seasoned and sauce wasn't a true brava). The service was excellent. We hope to come back again.

What a hidden gem! It takes a while for your brain to register you're in Boynton Beach - as the decor and vibe teleports you to a cozy restaurant in the keys or a Caribbean island. Great house music and super friendly and attentive service to start. Enjoyed a most delicious fish dip and milk bread that came with honey butter and beef tallow butter. For mains, did the shrimp and grits and flounder with a gremolata, carmelized squash and Pepitas. 10 out of 10 meals. In all honesty, one of the better experiences and meals I've had all year. Will definitely return 100%.

Today is my fiancés birthday, and I took him to Driftwood to celebrate. Neither of us had been there so I was excited. They have a really nice outdoor seating area,complete with heaters when needed. We chose to dine inside. The vibe inside the restaurant was kind of a boho rustic feel, and I really liked it. Soft lighting and music really set the tone. We were immediately greeted by our server, Gustavo, and given our menus. We don't drink, but they had a nice selection of drinks, cocktails and spirits. We decided to start with the sweet and sour cauliflower. It was absolutely delicious! Cauliflower battered and fried and tossed in a sweet and sour sauce. For our entree we shared the 44oz Creekstone ribeye. It was served with charred broccolini and and a fried airy potato side dish that was out of this world! The steak came sliced and off the bone, so it was perfect for sharing. It was served with 3 toppings; a horseradish sauce, a balsamic glaze, and delicious mixture of sliced peppers. Our steak was cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. We did not have dessert there, as we had a birthday cake at home. And I feel remiss that I didn't even look to see what they had. Overall, it was the perfect place to have a romantic, celebratory dinner! Thanks Driftwood. *Just a Note ~ I found it odd they added a 20% tip on a 2 top table, and I was glad I noticed it on the bill before we double tipped.

Great spot with unique food that is yummy Starting with the steak tartare then have for my main course the driftwood burger which was cooked perfectly. But I chose to eat it without the bun in lettuce instead which was delicious. Nice ambiance and service was very quick

I've come here a couple of times for happy hour, once for dinner and once for their Sunday southern fried chicken special dinner. A few of the things I liked.. - Fruit juice used for mixers is made in-house fresh daily. The drinks are creative and made well. - The sweet and sour cauliflower, the sliders, the chicken and dumplings. - Servers are always knowledgeable and attentive - indoor and outdoor seating with fans on a warm day. Upscale vibe with dim lighting. - plenty of parking A few I didn't.. - The fish dip was just ok - the fried part of the southern fried chicken while juicy on the inside, lacked flavor - the up charge for almond vanilla milk in the espresso martini without being told up front of the added cost -the steak tartare happy hour portion is 1 bite-sized piece. Just offer the normal sized portion for a reduced happy hour price as opposed to 1/4th the portion for 1/3rd the price. Overall I would say every experience is good but not great. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try and seeing if you agree with my review.

Never judge a book by it's cover, not too extravagant or any flashy ads. This place need to be advertised more! My sister came twice in a month, I knew something good was cooking. Came in with reservation ( highly encouraged ) since their bar is kind of small and there are a couple of tables. We were sat promptly with Mara. Starting from the tostones, WOW. I was telling my boyfriend in south america we eat plantains like this, "pintones" between still being toston and a little hint of sweetness. It was so good i had to order one for myself, didn't want to share anymore Lionfish ceviche was also a repeated item. This had flavour, had citrus, had balance of the fresh fish. It is a must. The tartare came in a grilled onion peel, which made it so good since it is sweet and the tartare has its steak flavor. It was really good. Coming from a person who doesnt eat much chicken and i am the worst judging when it comes out dry or well, plain. Not here. The wings are really good! Definitely thinking of going back. This place needs more recognition!

We came for their Happy Hour, and Driftwood truly stands out from other restaurants. The difference between a craft cocktail and a basic mixed drink is exactly what sets them apart. Their Mother of Dragons is hands down the BEST cocktail I've ever had. They make the dragon fruit juice fresh, strain it, and finish it with black volcanic salt around the rim, topped with a slice of dragon fruit for presentation. Such a nice touch. The service was excellent--attentive without being overbearing. The sweet and sour cauliflower was our favorite appetizer. The sauce was creative and clearly made in-house, not your typical out-of-the-bottle version. I really appreciate the intentional effort they put into their recipes. It's not a cheap place to eat (we've been here several times for dinner), but the quality and ambience make it worthwhile.

What a cute local spot! We've been meaning to come for ages, and saw they had been recently featured on a Diners, Drive in's and Dives episode. The cocktails were fabulous. The chicken oysters appetizer was just okay, the patatas bravas portion of it was absolutely delicious though. The Caribbean fish & chips was also just okay (didn't care for the avocado tarter sauce) but the rigatoni bolognese entree was absolutely delicious! Perfect date night spot.

Driftwood offers a great variety of seating options, the bar area, indoors and out on their inviting patio, which makes it an easy choice whether you're looking for a cozy meal or a more open, relaxed vibe. Service, however, was a bit hit or miss. Our waitress seemed to disappear for much of the evening and never mentioned the specials, which was disappointing. Meanwhile, the waiter attending the table next to us provided above-and-beyond service, making the contrast hard to ignore. We ordered the Tilefish and the shrimp and grits, both were well-prepared and flavorful. Heads up the sauce is very heavy on the grits. The sauce was amazing that was served with the Tilefish fish. The portion sizes were very generous and easily large enough to share, which added solid value to the meal.

We went last night for the last-minute family dinner. Service was impeccable. Upon arrival, we did not know, but it was tiki Thursday and the space was decorated with lei's everywhere while thematic Hawaiian music played. It was so fun and great. My cocktail was wonderful and beautifully handcrafted. Our server was amazing at answering any questions and making suggestions. Our food was beautifully seasoned. They changed the way that the chicken liver pate is served and at first this threw us off, but in the end we liked it and would still order again however, we miss the mousse like texture of the old one which was not served cold in a pot. If you love a good cocktail and restaurants that support local food check it out!

Spending two weeks in South Florida for work, my wife and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at Driftwood simply because of its high rating online. Walking in, the design looks like a more upscale Applebee's, but once the food came, we were won over. Here's our experience. 1) Food: The menu changes often as they try to source from local farmers. To feed us both, we ordered the Boudin Balls, Okra, Milk Bread, Ceviche, and the Roasted Cabbage Red Curry. Everything single dish was presented well and the unique flavors worked well with the texture. The standouts were the Ceviche with passion fruit and the Roasted Cabbage. Our eight-year-old daughter appreciated the kids menu. The pasta is a large portion and she devoured it. For dessert, we all got the brownie. We weren't sad about it. 2) Drinks: The margarita with a tajin rim was refreshing and my wife enjoyed the Old Fashioned. For our second drink, we got their two Sauvignon Blancs, including the orange one from France. Our daughter enjoyed her lemonade. 3) Service: From start to finish, it was excellent. Our food was perfectly timed and our water glasses always full. As an FYI, they add a 20% service charge on the bill, which we're used to coming from Washington, D.C.

Five Stars all the way, and well worth the price ... Don't be deceived by the outside, or even the casual feel as you enter ... this is five star culinary deliciousness masked as a low-key joint (with upscale dining prices) ... but so absolutely divine. The dishes are very unique, often changing ... the crevice was mouthwatering, bu the steak was one of the best we've ever had. So tender. So perfectly cooked. Not all the appetizers work. They definitely tried and failed on one or two of them ... but not enough to sour the meal. It's our second time and our go to now when visiting the area. Can't say enough good things.

Food 8 Ambience 9 Drinks 10 Service 10 Great restaurant. So adorable probably the best in Boynton beach. The food was delicious and amazing presentation. I think The octopus was small for the price and needed a little bit more flavor. The truffle fries were amazing. And the jerk chicken did not taste like jerk chicken was like butter and perfect. Nice joint, good vibe, decent food decent prices for what you get. Good service, nice atmosphere. I will return as it is only 5 minutes from my house! Location is in the "HOOD" but the area is being revitalized as we speak! parking is good if you go into the garage! read more

Driftwood Boynton Beach - don't ask. Just go. Trust me. My second time there. 5 stars for cocktails, apps, dinner and service. Interesting food choices- catch of the day- both times cooked to perfection. Sorry no food pix, I was enjoying too much- but we had the sweet and sour cauliflower app- excellent! I had the catch of the day which was a cubera snapper w spinach and watermelon radish. Mouth watering and I don't even love snapper. My companion who is vegan then got the broccolini and the roasted vegetable mole dinner- I tasted both of course. Deliousness. Laid back atmosphere, great bar and friendly waitstaff. I've been trying to get to this restaurant for a long time and finally made it tonight everything they've written about this restaurant is true it is extremely good creative food Fairly priced. the waitress Jessica was extremely nice and helpful And professional. the food was delicious we had the harvest salad we had the vegetables kale season well and broad beans. shrimp and grits and the tile fish which was the first time ever had it and it was delicious prepared perfectly !!we had two desserts the ice cream sandwich a little small but good and the pie I can't wait to go back and try some other things on the Menu read more

Can you say 5 Star Lunch? I can! Just South of Woolbright, kaddy corner from Troy's BBQ, on Federal Hwy, there sits Driftwood. Occupying the old Scully's lot is a Phoenix, not literally, but figuratively in the form a quaint, warm, inviting CLEAN, beautifully decorated, friendly restaurant with full bar. Our conductor this pleasant pallet pleasing journey through courses extraordinare, was DAVID. Seated in a cozy booth, we looked over the beverage menu and lunch offerings. They do have Craft Beers on tap, bottled domestic beers and a nice selection of wines. We decided to share some appetizers : Smoked Deviled Eggs (with finely chopped dill and cilantro garnished with green tomato pickled crown), Conch Salad packed with freshness and tender Conch chunks accompanied with fried pork skins, (what a wonderful combination of textures and flavors!) - not your typical Conch salad!, And Lamb Skewers with a melange of tiny chopped cauliflower, pickles and shallots and whipped goat cheese. The lamb had all the tender touches of Mediterranean spices and worked well with the plate presentation. Dessert? Oh yeah! The " Southern" in me jumped up when I saw Cornbread and Buttermilk ... in the creative form of Sweet cornbread topped with (Housemade) Buttermilk Ice Cream! The buttermilk ice cream had that true and tangy buttermilk flavor and just enough sweetness to compliment the cornbread and work with the accompanying blueberries on top. My wife had Cracker pie with Keylime pie ice cream and raspberries. (The Keylime ice cream - also House made- had the right combination of sweetness and make you pucker Keylime just like my Mom's Keylime pie!) We chatted with David as he brought out a complimentary digestife, the same David who is complimented in other reviews for his creativeness at the bar for his Pineapple infused Sazerac. We certainly enjoyed every component of this experience and the wonderments that come out of this kitchen!!! Can't wait to come back! 5 Stars all around! read more

Ate here with a group of 10 friends last week, and everyone was so impressed! We ate everything from burgers to shrimp and grits and steak a d everyone loved what they got. This is a really nice, low-key kind of place. Nice atmosphere. The service was as great as the food and drinks! Highly recommend their Mai Thai to start and their 12 oz. NY Prime Strip Steak with housemade steak sauce and loaded potato and to finish it off-their warm cornbread w/berries desert. A must! Will definitely return! FYI-make reservations! A funky and definitely different type of restaurant. Locally sourced items. The menu is divided into 3 sections, for the table, smaller and bigger. We started with roasted beet with mushrooms, endive and hazelnuts, very good. My wife ordered the grouper but they substituted porgy instead. Served with a zucchini pesto, plantains and herbs. She really didn't care for it. I decide to try 2 smaller items, local snapper ceviche with watermelon, cucumber, charred avocado and chilies, very good. I also had the grilled octopus with potatoes, and roasted garlic, also very good. For dessert we tried their soda cracker pie, never heard of it, very tasty. They featured craft cocktails and have a lot of craft sprits. read more

The food was good. I should give 3 and 1/2 stars, but we waited a very long time for a table, WITH a reservation. We could not sit outside. We got a small table back by the restroom which I'm glad I used AFTER dinner. It was a non/gender room and it was disgusting! I mean really bad! The service was good, again, not great, not even VERY good. It took a LONG time to get our food. We could BUY bread??? Ambiance? It was dark, and very noisy. Would I give it another try? Probably. This was a Saturday nite. High season. I've heard the food can be great. I would ask for an outdoor table, and not use the restroom. read more

Glad I ate here while I was still able to get a table. This chef is very talented. Started w a cod critter that was one of the tastiest I've ever had. Great portion for very fair price. Great bar program as well. The grouper was outstanding with impaired technique and the beat plantain preparation I've ever had. And I've eaten a ton of plantains from every culture. Should be offered as an appetizer they are so good! Superb shrimp and grits that would be as good as any in an local course Gullah restaurant as if they were made right in SC and just Ubereats delivered to the table. Truly great food prepared by an obviously deeply knowledgeable chef. Looking forward to returning just for the food. Kudos Mr Jimmy. Well deserved. Welcoming decor. Great job with the grounds and a comfortable dining room. Very nice staff. I'll leave it at that. They absolutely are trying but need some polishing for the quality of what's being presented. I love how they give you complimentary boiled peanuts to begin. We ordered the kale and cabbage salad, the spaghetti and the yucca tots and loved everything. They even split our salad and pasta for us and gave us each a yolk. So nice! To end we did the homemade ice cream sandwich with dulce de Leche ice cream. The food is delicious and unique, the vibe is nice and the cocktails are just how I like 'em-balanced with a Tiki vibe. read more

My wife (the journalist) will pen a great review, but allow me to share three things that earned my review. 1) It was a last minute decision and we noticed online they highly suggested a reservation. When I called "the night of" you could tell the manager wanted to say he was booked, but took the time to work us in a little later in the evening. 2) The servers knew the menu backward and forward and didn't hesitate when asked to make a recommendation. 3) A palm tree design was in the square ice cube of my Driftwood Old Fashioned! read more

Nice new restaurant in Boynton Beach. Beautiful decor inside and very friendly service. They have a few bar seats as you walk into the restaurant as well as tables, booths, and high tops. Outside they have umbrella covered tables even though they only have a view of Federal Hwy. The menu is not very big which I would classify it as being like gastropub fare. They put their own spin on flavor creativity. I ordered for brunch the Eggs Benedict with pork-belly. I asked for the hollandaise sauce to be on the side but it came out with it on top and I was NOT disappointed because it tasted so good. The chicken and waffles looked great and the french toast also looked good with huge blackberries. Our server was really nice an she kept our drink glasses full. I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

Absolutely delicious food!! Market to table. They change their menu daily. You should taste Goat cheese poppers with Jacks fruit sauce. Cauliflower is yummy. Steak is not cheap, but probably the best we've ever had. Even hamburger was so tasty! We are not a drinking crowd but drinks looked great and people seemed to enjoy them. Amazing gastropub inspired food with cocktails! We had lamb skewers, burger with aoli, deviled eggs and two desserts. Corn bread and brownie...the bomb! Great food without a doubt but waitress was a little off on service. I hate having to beg for drinks, asked for salt n pepper only got salt, took away the sweetener and brought more tea...little annoying stuff. May i suggest some napkins under the drinks outside because this is FL, its warm and it makes a pool on the table. read more

Husband and Wife team, Jimmy Everett and Ilia Gonzalez, spent most of their careers in fine dining restaurants in New York City before leaving to grow their careers in Hong Kong and LA, eventually settling in Jimmy's hometown, in South Florida. In early 2017 they found the perfect location to bring their concept to life. Everything was fantastic but the burger initially came out a bit undercooked (we ordered it medium) so they cooked it a bit more and quickly brought it back. I thought the lamb wagyu was a bit light on the meat, the pork chop was amble and laid out nicely on the plate. We also tried the watermelon tequila drink (very refreshing and not too sweet), an old fashioned, and they have a good list of wines. We love the big cube in cocktails. I had the best time at Driftwood with my best friend--this spot is such a vibe for a girls' night, happy hour, or even a cute dinner. From the moment we sat down, the service was attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. You can tell they really care about the experience. Now let's talk about the FOOD. I was genuinely obsessed. The homemade milk bread with tallow honey butter was unreal so soft, so flavorful, and easily one of my favorite bites of the night. We also tried a few other items and everything was consistently delicious and well-executed. The drinks were fun and creative, and my friend especially loved the birria empanadas and their smorgasm cocktail. And I cannot leave without mentioning the date cake... WOW. That dessert completely took it over the top for me perfectly sweet, rich, and memorable. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for amazing food, solid service, and a fun atmosphere. Been coming here for years. Really enjoyed this place but since they started adding a mandatory 20% tipping fee the service has gone downhill. After we are seated it takes about 10 minutes for our server to come take our order. Then it will be take another 10 minutes to get a beer. Everything seems very delayed and you never see the server any more. I couldnt even get a second drink by the time our meal was done. Very disappointed in what this place has become. Food is ok, seems to be hit or miss sometimes. Not sure why they have declined in their quality and service. read more

My son sent me a Father's Day gift card to this restaurant because of the great reviews on Yelp. The evening started great since some of the "fresh fish" I saw on the menu on the Internet were not offered at the restaurant tonight. But I chose to pick something I never tried, and anyway we chose to try several items on their daily happy hour. The high west whiskey was authentic and served over designer ice! There were mushrooms and breading that I don't eat, so I ended up with some gnocchi looking dumplings with little chicken and spicy sauce!
