They pleasantly took my order and my money and directed me, the important newbie, as to where my hot beverage could be procuruded. My favorite place in Dallas by far. It reminds me of Roasters in Amarillo, TX. Which I recently found out was started by the same owners! It's filled with interesting people and it's perfect for studying or reading. The Americanos are amazing. They are the best tasting Americanos in Dallas. And possibly the best I've ever had (except for Roasters). The people are friendly and fast with your order, no matter how long the line is. read more

I ran into Drip yesterday for coffee and a muffin because I was house sitting nearby, and I am still on my local coffee tour of Dallas. Drip isn't bad. It's never busy so you'll never have to wait in line. My barista was telling us all about her many tattoos- so I was entertained while i waited for my Soy Cappuccino (which was kind of bitter). But my blueberry muffin was INCREDIBLE. I'd go back just for the muffin. Not sure how many trans fats were in the sucker, but it was worth it. I'll be back if I'm in the hood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there. read more

I'm sorry, but the inside of this place is very spartan and stark, sort of like sitting in a McDonald's restaurant. The chairs are very uncomfortable, and the layout is strange. There are four chairs by the front door that could serve as some sort of torture device. If I had one of these chairs in my house, it would be taken out to the garbage immediately. They need to hire someone to redesign the interior to be more cozy and comfortable. I just don't get the cold, stark interior. I won't be back. The coffee is OK. read more

Cold brew coffee was smooth and hit the spot. Grate atmosphere to sit and get some work done.

I've come here a handful of times, and so far I've yet to find anything I love. The chai tea is alright, I don't think I'd get their vanilla latte again but I'm giving their menu another shot (they have nitro cold brew on tap, which is a big plus in my book). I wish it had a "cozy coffee shop" feel, but it's much more like a workspace. The seating is cold and fairly modern. It's strange that they put stickers with the logo on their cups instead of printing them with it. The iced drinks tend to destroy the logo pretty quickly. Generally when I'm here there's people on their laptops (presumably being productive), and if you come late-afternoon high school students come to hang out. I appreciate that they have maps showing where the different blends come from, and I'm optimistic I'll find my drink soon - just bummed it's taking a few attempts to get there. read more

This was not a good experience for coffee loving me. The house coffee was extremely bitter even after adding lots of half n half and sugar. I've been coming to Drip since I moved here--I own a hat and shirt like I'm a groupie for sure. It's not like your typical Starbucks where your standing in line waiting for a half ass latte that may or may not have the correct flavor. The orders are consistently good and the customer service is always friendly. If your a taco deli fan they serve it in the mornings as well. They've recently changed their website to go along with their happy hour additions. I'm hoping to check it out later this week. read more

Decor is a bit stark. Set up more like a restaurant with lots of tables for two instead of an inviting coffeeshop. But the prices are good!

My new favorite coffee shop for when I have to work a little on weekends. There's a long bench for seating with electrical sockets spaced intermittently-- a real find for those anchored by laptops. There's free wi-fi-- just ask the barista for the password. The coffee itself was good. On a recent Saturday afternoon, it was nearly empty, so there's no concerns that I can't get a space to work, and it's not a see-be-seen deal. Perfect for when you need a java fix and to really focus. read more

I like this sleek, sophisticated coffee place. The neutral colors with red accents provide a very modern look without seeming sterile. I believe the coffee is roasted on-site, which is pretty cool. My espresso beverages and drip coffee have been consistently good, and I've usually had no problem getting a seat. This shop was near my school, so I graded papers here a few times. I found it a fairly quiet place where I could actually get some work or reading done, plus I think they have free wi-fi. Prices are comparable to Starbuck's or Seattle's Best, so there's really no reason not to check this place out! Oh, except for the parking. Furnishings are sleek silver and bright white, except for a few red leather chairs by the magazine rack. The owner (Steve) used to work for *the* Seattle-based omnipresent java chain. As much as I am an avid supporter of the small mom and pop coffee shops, I must say that my experience here lead me right back to Starbucks down the street. Heck, I make better tea and italian soda at home!! My raspberry Italian soda came out not only flavorless, but overfilling and oozing out of my cup which was not a pretty sight in the car. The iced chai was watery and bland. I MIGHT consider giving this place another chance by coming back and ordering coffee next time. read more

It is really nice to see a neighborhood spot like this crop up. It is located in that miracle mile on Lovers. Parking can be a problem at 8 a.m., but the peach danish are worth it. When this place first opened, I was fairly confident it wouldn't last, but five years later, I stand corrected. The coffee itself is distinctive but tasty. They roast it themselves, and it might be worth taking some home, though it's a bit oily. The pastry selection is almost nonexistent, so don't go for that. Also, they don't do "for here" cups. I like cappuccinos, so this bothers me. The biggest downside for me is the overall feel. It's modern, clean, and uninviting. And unfortunately, the austere environment seems to rub off on the staff. Despite this, they seem to have developed regulars. I can only assume they see something I don't. read more

I live near by, but this was my first trip in. I have seen them in magazines and the Dallas Morning news. They seem to always get great reviews. The service was good, the people that work there seem to like what they do. The coffee was just ok, I believe it may have been burned. I'm glad to see an indi coffee place in the area. They have Jazz music playing "in the background" not overwhelming, actually the perfect volume. Not that obnoxious "music to kill yourself by' stuff that they play at Starbucks. They have a news paper stand which is also a great plus. I'll try it again. read more

I've been trying to get out of the house more and work at various coffee shops around the city. I found Drip on Yelp, and since it wasn't too far from me, I decided to check it out on a Tuesday morning. Parking is horrible here, but most people go in and out of the neighboring businesses quickly, so two spots were freeing up just as I pulled in. They also only have 2 hour parking spots available at front which I was a little annoyed by at first. But come to find out, I wasn't going to be staying for more than two hours anyway. There's a nice outdoor patio in the front where people were hanging out with their pets and sipping on their drinks. Inside, the layout is a bit cramped. But there wasn't a long wait at the register which was nice. I placed my order which was just over $7 for a medium white mocha and a blueberry muffin. The coffee was amazing. It had a really nice flavor to it. The muffin was small in size, but it tasted like it just came out of the oven! I wasn't familiar on how to access their wifi so I asked another patron for help. She referred me back to the register to ask for a receipt (that's where they print the wifi code). Once I got connected, the signal was lagging and going in and out which made working pretty much impossible. So I packed up early and headed out about an hour after I arrived. Will I return? Probably not, simply due to the wifi issue. read more

I've tried every coffee shop between here and University Park, and Drip is hands down the best coffee. I load up on whole beans when I'm in the neighborhood. read more
