Poor quality and customer experience. Spent $2500 in May 2016 for repairs including a new timing belt and brakes. Two days after I picked up the car, while driving on the other side of town, several warning lights came on indicating that I stop driving immediately . I was also hearing loud grinding noises when I stepped on the brakes. Driver's had not installed the timing belt correctly and replaced free of charge. The grinding noise was a little less noticeable but still there. In Sept, I took the car to the dealer for some recall work and the dealer diagnosed the grinding noise was due to Driver's not using dealer factory brakes . I took the car back to Driver's where they stated they are using factory brakes. They resurfaced the pads. The noise continued to get worse and coming from several brakes and I took the car back to the dealer who again verified the brakes were not the factory parts. I had the dealer replace the brakes and now the car is fine. My husband then called the store and the manager would not listen and hung up on my husband. Unacceptable experience - I should not have had to take the car back repeatedly due to lack of quality control and the manager should not hang up on their customers read more

Horrible customer service along with a sarcastic attitude. We purchased a package for five oil changes that were supposed to include tire rotations along with the usual fluid and filter checks. On the third visit, we found out the tires had never been rotated. The dealer and Discount Tire both recommended that the front tires be replaced due to excessive wear, and both said it was due to the lack of rotations. I asked for my money back on the remaining service (since they hadn't lived up to the contract), and Craig said he would have to talk to his manager. I asked for contact information, and he circled the website on a business card and handed it to me. I've sent emails and left voice messages with their customer care center, and no one has bothered to contact me. It's been four weeks with no response. I can't trust them to rotate my tires or return a phone call. I certainly won't be returning for them to look at my engine or brakes. read more

I did'nt even want to give one star..they deserve no stars! SERIES of events with Drivers Auto!I called and spoke with Craig needing a 02 sencor for my 2002 Lexus IS 300 which I previously had a ballest installed and was SATIFIED with the work and decided to return! WRONG!!! Craig stated he called several places for my sensor and finally after approximately two hours the new sensor arrived damaged after the 02 sensor was ready to be installed. Craig stated that was the last sensor that store/ warehouse had for my car. Now it gets worst, Craig stated he called several other warehouses which they were suppose to be on their way with the part, THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!! Now they offered to take me home which I refused after sitting from 10am to approximately 4:30pm my whole day waisted. Craig stated out of the blue, we tried to install the new sensor and it was stripped, were did that appear from? He also said my old sensor screw was stripped. WHAT, I told Caig I brought my car brand new and NEVER changed a sensor. Now everything is stripped and the mechanic and Craig plugged up the whole with a screw. I left and returned to retrieve my old censor which Craig took a picture of. At first, I was going to let Driver's Auto to repair my car but, I will NEVER return again. Craig now said you need the EXHUST MANIFOLD AND CONVERTER ASSEMBLY which would cost me $1,522.61 which I was SHOCKED! This is highway robbery!!!! iF they did not strip my screw, I would not have gone through this emotional roller coaster. Craig offered mE a FREE oil chage for my inconvience, YOUR KIDDING!! I was given DRIVERS AUTO CUSTOMER CARE number (281)651-7316 also their email customercare@driverautorepair.com given to me by Rios and left several messages and emails with no response. I take my vehicles here for oil change only because the other services are expensive. The location is convenient for me being 10 minutes from my house. Every oil change they do free liquid air filter checks which is great. The reason for 3 stars is they are overpriced and very pushy on paying for unnecessary services. A transmission flush done here is twice the amount I paid for a brake and transmission flush at NTB. Other than that they seem to do acceptable work on other cars from what I see but I just prefer finding better deals. They have 2 small waiting rooms and do provide a ride home if you are dropping your car off the whole day. read more

I brought my vehicle in recently because I had a whap-whap-whap sound coming from the front end. I had recently bought a new set of tires and initially thought I that one of the tires (tire separation) was the problem. But that was ruled out by having the tire shop replace each tire with a spare tire to narrow down the source of the sound. But even with all four tires being switched out, the problem did not go away. The tire shop suggested that I might have a bad wheel bearing. So, I brought it to Driver's Automotive - and made the mistake of suggesting that this - a bad wheel bearing - might be the problem, rather than letting them diagnose the whap-whap sound. Did they check to confirm my suspicion? No, they went right to work, replacing the wheel hub and bearings on one of the front wheels. Seven hours later I had a new wheel hub and bearings, costing me $1,700 - and the same whap-whap sound I had when I brought the vehicle in. Obviously, the problem was not a bad wheel bearing. Had this shop checked each wheel rather than taking my suggestion and running with it, I could have saved myself the expense of this useless repair. I feel that I was totally ripped off. I would never recommend this repair shop to anyone. read more

The first time my husband and I went in to Driver's Auto Repair the staff was attentive, friendly, and available to get right to my car. I missed the call from the shop when my car was ready, they called back again and at the time I did not know it was the manager but he coped a huge attitude about my missing the call. I picked my car up and it was working great. The cost was reasonable but the service was quick so I was happy. A few days later I needed to return to the shop because there was a problem. I tried to explain what was going on and was then talked to in a condescending manner for not having my terms correct. If I were a mechanic and able to explain in depth the problem, I wouldn't need to take my car anywhere. After blowing off the attitude I was able to come to an understanding with the mechanic that I needed to find out what was going on since the service done prior was not working. The mechanic which I did not know was the manager during our entire exchange tried to blame a cheap part in a previous repair (not done by them) as the cause and then it was confirmed by another tech that a leak had not been detected when I was in for service at DAR, his tone completely changed. Jim, the manager, then stated the price of the part/labor and I said I would need to talk to my husband since it was a bit pricey. He offered a "deal" when I came back and when he wanted my money was sweet as honey. I did not go back to get anything done. I did not appreciate how the MANAGER treats his customers or the price. I went else where and paid a third of the price that Jim offered. The other auto shop had top notch communication, testing, documentation and finalizing of repair. As well as, a follow-up appointment within 2 weeks to ensure quality and service excellence. read more

Avoid this place at all cost; they broke more than they fixed. I went there to get a door lock on my SUVs tailgate fixed. The dealer told me what was wrong and quoted me $225. I took it here, told them what the dealer said was wrong. They said they did that, but it didn't fix it, and they had to further diagnose and do another repair - ended up being over $700 at the end of the day. That was irritating, but I let that go. Until I found that my tailgate window no longer rolled down, which it did before I took it in. I called them up, explained what happened, they said to bring it in; I did and left. Ten minutes after I got home they call and say it'll be $130 to diagnose the problem. I explained it worked before you fixed the lock. The manager rudely explained that "We fix cars here, we don't break them" and "Things break all the time, this just happened to break after we fixed your tailgate lock". Astonished, I went to pickup my car, it hadn't moved. Why not just tell me you weren't going to honor your warranty instead of making me go back a forth twice? Just don't go here... even if they fix your car, it'll cost more than it's worth. read more

Horrible customer service!! They do not honor their work. I had car repairs done that required them to manipulate the a/c. When I got my car back the a/c did not work but prior to bringing it in the a/c was functioning perfectly. I returned and requested that they go back over the work they did to make sure they did not overlook something. If the a/c was working before they manipulated it then maybe something was not done correctly. Basically, I was told that mistakes would never happen at this location because they never make mistakes. The general manager was bold enough to say that he works with professionals that would never make a mistake and if my a/c isn't working it is not because they touched it. When asked, how would he know that if he has not even looked at it and gone over the work to make sure? I was told that was silly and they would never do anything to sabotage their work. I did not, at that time, think or insinuate that they sabotaged any work. All I was requesting is that they look at the work they did to make sure everything was done by the book so to speak. Again, refused and said if I wanted my car looked at it was going to cost a diagnostic fee (approx $255) plus whatever they found was wrong since "they did nothing to the a/c". I did not feel I should pay anything for someone to make sure what they did was correct. Not one time during our conversation the manager was willing to admit that there was a possibility that there was something that the shop may have done to cause the a/c to stop functioning. This is the opposite of good basic customer service. These people are crooks with a fancy logo. Do not bring your car here for any services. To prove my point even farther there is a customer care number listed on line that I attempted to call. The message repeats asking callers to leave a message but will not allow a message to be left. The number is a decoy to make one think you have an outlet to complain. If you don't trust my review then check the BBB website, they have a C- rating. I made the worse mistake entrusting this company with my vehicle. The reviews on their website seem to be customers that are happy and content with their work but on the BBB site complete opposite. read more
