01/17/18 - No one ever called me. I went to Driver's Edge in Prosper to have my motor oil changed. The mechanic and service writer approached me and said that my tires were showing wear from misalignment and I needed to have a 4 wheel alignment. I told them to go ahead and do it. After I got the car back I noticed it was pulling so I took it to the Ford dealer. They checked the alignment and said the alignment was off. They also gave me a printout from their alignment machine. I took my car and the alignment printout back to Driver's Edge in Prosper. They put my car on their alignment machine and raised it up in the air and said their alignment machine showed the car was not out of alignment. The mechanic then had me come out to the car so he could show me the aligment settings. While I was there I said show me the tire wear that you said the vehicle was experiencing and needed an alignment for. The technician was unable to show me any wear at all on any of my four tires. I felt that they had snookered me into getting an alignment my vehicle didn't need. Plus now the vehicle is pulling. I was not happy and left. I took my the car to back to the Ford dealer and paid to have the alignment corrected. When I got the car back it did not pull anymore. I feel I wasted my money at Driver's Edge and I no longer trust them. read more

I had a busted valve stem on my tire. Showed 5 minutes after they closed and started to drive off when Nicole, a super nice girl that works there, ran outside and flagged me down. She asked what was wrong and I told her. Rick came outside and said, we got you just drive around back. He jacked it up took the tire off and fixed the valve. I asked what I owed and he said nothing and to have a good night. They didn't have to do this as they were closed. I have always had a great experience with them. Brought my car in to have the brakes done. After a week of driving around, the drivers side rear caliper pin fell out (it wasn't bolted in) and the brake pads fell out. Luckily I was able to stop the car, but it ruined my rear caliper since the piston in the caliper had to dig into the rotor to stop the car. Brought the car in, and the assistant manager replaced the rear caliper (not with my stock part), and the cars brakes haven't been the same since. Very disappointed, I could have died when the brakes failed coming off of the Tollway! read more

So, I took my vehicle here two times thinking the first time was just a mistake. Trip one: Blower motor went out in the rear A/C of our GMC Yukon. Got it fixed. New blower motor. Next day... broken again. They ended up putting in a second, brand new one. It was partially fixed, but it was always flaky, turning on and off. Not a big deal. Electrical things are sometimes weird, intermittent, and hard to figure out. I'm out of budget, it's Texas, roll the windows down. Trip two: I decide to take my family to Destin, Florida. I take the car in to change oil and get transmission flushed before our trip. They didn't tighten my oil filter correctly and, unknown to me, I leaked a small amount of oil all the way to Florida. It rode on that border where GMC sensors don't initiate the warning light, but it's still a little low on oil? Anyways, we got to Florida three days later, where my car sat in a resort parking lot for several more days. The day we are ready to return, I started it and found that it's now completely out of oil. Light is on. Local mechanical shop in Florida says "There's your problem, it's all leaking out of the oil filter. Who changed your oil? It's not tightened!". Metal filings in the remaining liter of oil show engine damage had occurred. Fortunately those guys got us filled up and with a new oil filter "tightened". Of course now our engine was ticking and by the time we got home, the engine had blown. Cam shaft and lifters needed replacement. Ok, so being a reasonable person, I let them handle it before I went and had my insurance get involved. It is my only vehicle, and it's not like 2013 Denali's breakdown every day. Maybe if it was 100k miles or something, but not in this case. I've got reasonable evidence that it was due to a faulty oil change, with witnesses. They tow it to their facility for audit. Days later, no response. I've got a 7 person family and all the kids are in car seats. Big cars are not cheap and rentals are eating up my expenses, so I get my insurance involved on the repairs to cut the bleeding (no coverage for rentals in the case of vandalism). It was questionable if insurance would even cover it, but thankfully Geico goes out on a limb and fixes it based on questionable coverage. I bring it up to Drivers Edge again, and now they say they will take care of it. I have never received a call back, though I have called them 5 times and I am told the same thing - They will take care of it. I'm on a weekly pattern to see how long this will go on. It's now been nearly 2 months. I'm out of pocket +$4000 for engine damage, $3800 for a rental, $500 deductible, +$200 for repairs in Florida, and $170 for a lousy job on an oil change. All because I wanted to do right maintaining my car. What's worse is that I probably would have called it a spade and returned for service in future had they taken steps to make it right. I'd say the blatant ignoring and refusal to accept responsibility is what makes it the worst. So in short: Don't go to Driver's Edge. Thanks, read more

The customer service at Drivers Edge is fantastic! I was able to easily set up an appointment to take my car in for service the morning after I discovered that my battery needed replacing. Once I arrived, I explained that I was in hurry given some family priorities I needed to take care of. They were incredibly responsive and worked quickly to test and then replace my car battery. I had a full day planned, went to start my car and it didn't start. I called the dealership and they wanted me to tow my car from Prosper to Plano. Exception service and totally trustworthy!! I read the reviews online and decided to take both my cars here for yearly registration inspections. They were extremely courteous and both the cars were in and out. They even pointed me out to Kroger across the street to complete the registration which I had no idea that it could be done. Based on that experience, I decided to take one of my cars in to their shop to fix my tire. It was leaking air every few days. They took the keys and pulled my car in right away. A few other people walked in behind me wanting to get their inspections. But since my car and another car were already in the shop they had to wait. They found a 5 inch nail in my tire and fixed it. When they were done they handed me the keys and said you are all set. I was a little shocked to know that they did not charge me for this service, even though my car was holding up a spot for the other two paid services that they offered. In this day and age where people charge you for the most ridiculous services (consider airline costs for services), it was refreshing to see this kind of service and this kind of gesture. However, if it's something that is not covered, I have used these guys, especially on my older cars instead of going all the way into the dealership. They call me by name as I walk in the door (even though I haven't been there in several months), and I feel like I'm being treated fairly and charged competitive rates. This morning I realized I had a nail in my tire and my tire was nearly flat. So I found this place on Yelp and dropped my vehicle off. Not only is the place very clean and nice looking, but the manager showed ultimate customer service. He went way above and beyond to help me because I wasn't able to pick up my truck before closing. My family and myself will only be using Driver's Edge from now on for ALL vehicle needs. And I will encourage anyone I know or run into to use these folks too. Thank you again to the manager. My husband broke down close to this store. We live about an hour away. While the store was helpful with getting my husbands vehicle to the store, I feel that is where the good customer service ended. We were told the van had an electric problem and the mechanic wanted a 3 hour labor fee to fix it. We didn't really have a choice. We were stranded in a different town and they knew that. We were charged a $89.95 diagnostic fee, even though we had the work done. I called several other Driver's Edge stores and none of them said they would charge a diagnostic fee. I have never heard of anybody doing this if you have the work done. Then again we were stranded and they knew that. So we sat there and watched the mechanic work on the van for about 5 minutes then work on a different vehicle for a while the work on our vehicle for a few minutes, then take a smoke break. The van was worked on for maybe a total of 30 minutes, but we had to wait the 3 hours. It would have been better if they just said, this is the cost and then fix it in the 30 minutes. Then we would not have lot out on income for the job we had to cancel. They did fix the problem and everything seems to be running well. However, they took advantage of our situation. I would not recommend this place. My husband was contacted by the owner. He spent a long time discussing the issues, and what could be done. We both feel much better about the situation. The owner was very concerned about everything that happened. I believe that he will due what is necessary to make sure it does not happen again. read more

Went to Drivers Edge in Prosper on Friday morning, the 9th of August , for a four wheel alignment on my BMW. I was told I could wait on it and I did. It took over two hours to complete the alignment. The charge was $149.00 which is what I was previously quoted. All is good at this point. The next morning I get a flyer from this store showing a $ 25.00 discount on any " Repair or Maintenance " over $100.00. No expiration dates or any special conditions noted. I called the shop and spoke to Nicole, the manager, and asked if I could come up and get a credit of $25.00 for the alignment I had done 24 hours previously. She said No. Her response was A) An alignment is not maintenance in her opinion. B) I didn't have the flyer when I came in even though I told her it just arrived. Her answer to that was we don't control the mail delivery. I have used this facility in the past for both my vehicles and didn't have any issues. That was prior to "Nicole". Her last response was, " if $25.00 means that much to you, just come in right now and I'll give it to you". I told Nicole that her actions and responses showed her lack of concern for customer care and satisfaction and keep the $25.00 . I will not be back and I would make sure to caution others that have to deal with Nicole at Drivers Edge in Prosper. read more

I am a 67 year old female. I told these people my car was leaking oil...it was a slow leak because ever morning I noticed small amounts of oil on my garage floor. After doing their inspection I was told I had 3 different oil leaks....the cost would be $1480.00...because of the cost they did suggest getting the major leak taken car of which would be $800.00. I told the guy to give me the estimate on paper...he did. WERE THEY FRIENDLY ..YES....WERE THEY HONEST.. NO! ....I took my car elsewhere for a SECOND OPINION. I was asked had I had an oil change recently. I said yes. They told me the oil cap wasn't on tightly. They tightened the oil cap and I haven't had any oil leak since.....WOW... read more

Always fast and friendly service. Twice, I've been in for tires: checking pressure and checking for a puncture. Both times, I received fast service and was not charged anything. This place was really wonderful. We drove all the way from Columbus, OH to Prosper to visit family, and needed to have my car looked at for a minor problem. Juan went above and beyond to help us. He was able to get our car looked at and evaluated in the same day, even though they were busy, knowing that we had a quick turn around to head back home. He explained everything so well, and never made me feel like I didn't need to know what was going on like some other car shops do. He was honest, kind, professional, and thorough. He really made sure I was aware of what was happening, did everything he could to fix it, and did a wonderful job.
