I recently built a house that uses Vastola Heating & Cooling as one of the subcontractors. I'm…read moreborderline impressed with the work that they did. I'll explain... The duct work is pretty clean looking and streamlined. With my house being a new build, I suppose you'd expect that the temperature would be comfortable with little wasted energy, but in many respects this is a testament to the quality furnace and duct work Vastola did install. Moreover, the humidifier does a bang up job as well. I'm was a little disappointed about a service call I had to make after we moved in. Our dryer is vented from the laundry room on the second floor to the side of the house, not the roof. Therefore, Vastola ran the vent across the joists of the attic floor. When I finally had a chance to get into the attic to store some things, I noticed the overwhelming smell of dryer exhaust. I checked out the vent and noticed it had come unattached from the outside wall. We called Vastola about the issue, and they came out to fix it, however, they were really defensive when they did so, almost as if they were accusing us of deliberately sabotaging our own dryer vent, which of course is ridiculous. I love dryer vents and would never do anything to harm one of them.

Came out because our A/C stopped working. They identified the problem as a broken fan motor. They…read morecharged $140 for the diagnostic visit (which I was not informed about ahead of time). They quoted me $7000+ for a new A/C. When I asked for a quote to just replace they fan motor, they said they would get back to me. It seemed crazy to replace the whole A/C when there was nothing wrong with the coolant line or compression. Didn't hear anything so reached out a week later. They said they couldn't get the part. That my A/C mount was different and requited a special size. Bullshit. I went to S-S Electrical (on Seneca St), bought an A/C fan motor with the same specs as my old one, and changed it out myself for $200. Problem solved.

Had an HVAC issue on July 3rd in the evening. Called these guys and promptly received a call back…read more Although the gentleman on call couldn't make it over there that day, they had someone call back the next morning and arrive by afternoon, which was July 4th. The service fee wasn't egregious for it being July 4th. The problem was as suspected, a capacitor that was shot. They had one on the truck they could swap it out with. The only qualm I had was they charged like $380 for the part, when it's $40 or so at Home Depot. Just seems like a little heavy on the upmark, but with it being July 4th; I was just grateful to get the A/C fixed. Good communication; recommended! Parts were a little pricey.
