My wife and I tried whatever we could do to unclog it, and just couldn't figure out why. We ended up calling around and trying to get general estimates. Depending on the task at hand, Bruce gave us the most reasonable quote and we decided to go with him. He was very responsive online and available the same day. Some of the plumbers had given us dates that were well into the following week, and almost twice the price. When Bruce arrived, he made sure he kept the work area clean, worked on our sink, and after we found out that the job needed was worse than we had initially thought, he encouraged me to look around in case I didn't want to go with him. The new project included sawing off the existing galvanized pipe to the laundry sink, which was severely clogged with corrosion and sediments, and having it replaced with PVC pipe she is replacement. We decided to go with him for the new job and he completed it quickly, with quality products, and at a very reasonable rate. The estimate was done in a timely manner and was professional. I do like that the owner gave me the estimate right away on the spot and seemed to know the cost of materials. I appreciated the timely manner of the estimate and the professionalism, I always do at least 3-4 estimates before scheduling any job, so it'll remain to be seen whether I go with Bright Star, but I always live by the rule to get at least a few estimates for any job over $500. EDIT: I did find their quote to be on the higher side after getting a comparing estimate, but it could have just been this particular job.

We were very happy for the quick response on a Sunday. An hour after we initially called about our…read moreclogged main drain a technician was at our house. So that alone was nice and appreciated. The Technician pulled in our driveway like a mad man, almost hitting my wife's car. He was nice and was professional though. He diagnosed our issue and we agreed to run a snake through our main drain. The work would be GUARANTEED for 6 months. So he runs the snake and a few minutes later says he's done and we are all set. He never checked our utility sink that was sewage backing up in. It still was clogged. He just told me to take a plunger and use it in the sink and it should go down and basically just left the mess in the sink. He told us someone would come to do a camera inspection in the next few day but would call us first. An hour later a "supervisor" randomly shows up and basically tells us they cannot GUARANTEE their work for 6 months because there is signs of tree roots (which I hear is pretty common) and he was going to work up a proposal to have our trap replaced that would be in the $8-10,000 range. Now mind you we had our main drain snaked approx 3-4 years ago and haven't had any issues since. My wife was livid and called out the supervisor for basically just coming out to do this Video Inspection just so they didn't have to honor their great 6 Month GUARANTEE. I've heard some negative things along the same lines about Roto-Rooter before but got to experience it first hand. Again I guess I'm happy they came out on a Sunday and unclogged our drain for us but wasn't very impressed.
