Ordered a couple of coffees, a wrap, and a sandwich. My wife really liked her sandwich, egg and cheese on a croissant (either bacon or ham). During my visit, the WiFi was down for the first couple of hours, but my personal hotspot saved the day. Sometime during my visit the WiFi was restored. I ordered a 20oz vanilla latte that was smooth and creamy. Being the largest size, i found the price point to be within reasonable limits at somewhere just north of $5. Today was my first trip, and I have zero complaints about anything! The food was great, and there were so many selections for vegetarian/vegan foods. Drunken Monkey is my preferred go-to spot to work on projects with friends. It's never too loud in there and the atmosphere is quite cozy. Drunken Monkey is kind of small, so you might not always be able to get a seat if you plan on hanging out there for a while. But the way they arrange the furniture and decor. Everything feels like it was plucked from your childhood home, and there are couches there that invite you to meet someone new while you sip your tea and work on your laptop. The staff is always friendly and willing to explain things to you. They have a wide selection of teas and baked goods that are so delicious, they might make you cry (tears of joy). And if you're hungry for a little bit more than a muffin, they've got sandwiches! And they're really good! I recommend the buffalo chicken melt. They are also vegan friendly so everyone has options here! Drunken Monkey even has a drive-thru which is a total rarity among local businesses. You should consider passing through Drunken Monkey on your way to work instead of the huge coffee chain that will remain unnamed in my review. It's an ideal spot to work on projects or just to catch up with friends. What happened? This was our go to place for coffee and treats but recently this place has gone downhill. The tea was OK, the coffee very bitter and the pastries - each was bad. I wish I could say it was a great experience, but there were a few things that were wrong, therefore earning 1 star: 1) Very dirty behind the counter. I saw an employee drop lids on the floor and then put them right back up for use- yuck! 2) The employees were not friendly and rushed the people I front of me and myself through, creating an uncomfortable experience when I was e cited to try something new. 3) My drink was expensive, which is ok, but tasted terrible! I mean, something was actually wrong with this drink- chemically taste like cleaner was in it. I asked if they could remake it, the employee (different person) said, "you'll have to pay for another one if you don't like the one you have." After explaining why I requested a remake, they said, "yeah, you'll still need to pay." Just go to another shop- this really isn't worth the drive-time-money. I was so excited to try the coffee, and boy I wasn't disappointed! It was AMAZING! Smooth and delicious, it was everything I was hoping for :). Best cup of coffee in Orlando! This place continues to impress me every time I visit. They have an amazing coffee selection, as well as fabulous pastries and great vegan food options. Some of the house coffee specials are "Mojo Jojo" (named after the Power Puff character I'm assuming?) and the "Tantric Mayan" both of which are amazing choices. Additonally, they have a variety of milk options to choose from- almond, hemp, soy (to name a few) and amazing choices for syrups and flavors as well! Drunken monkey also has a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from if you are looking to grab a bite to eat. Great breakfast wraps, sandwiches, quiches, etc. But their most famous food option are the Anzac cookies... which are AMAZING. My favorite is the double chocolate, but they have so many great flavors it's hard to even choose. Overall, Drunken Monkey has great food, amazing coffee, and fabulous service. My favorite coffee shop in Orlando! The vibe is chill. The furniture is used. The music is solid. The decor is random. The staff are nice. The coffee is dark and strong, unless you prefer a lighter roast. There are always students and writers or people reading or working on projects -- my people!! I come here to read, talk, and write. There are some food options, nothing life changing but definitely good; some of it is vegan-friendly! But it's mostly about the atmosphere. It's small. It's not overrun. It reminds me of art school, the good ol' days. I really think the reused mugs are a nice touch. There is definitely a recycling initiative happening here and it's something I value a lot. Drunken Monkey, despite its name, is a coffee house not a bar, but what a coffee house it is! They have a vast variety of coffee drinks, a number of teas and great smoothies plus baked goods, quiches, and other light lunch/snack fare. Most of their offerings are vegetarian or vegan and I can say their vegan cake bites are amazing, just amazing. I tried the red velvet cake ones and they're some of the best red velvet cake I've ever had--vegan or not. The space is ample and they have free wi-fi but I think the most impressive part of the whole experience to me was their amazing wall of graffiti art on the rear wall of the building. The artwork was no less than stellar. Oh . . . and they do have cute little monkey figures and trinkets all over the place, too. They've taken the monkey theme and ran with it, which is a lot of fun. Drunken Monkey does comedy nights, game nights, and other events; I was there in the middle of the day so I didn't directly experience this but given how sweet and chill their staff and customers are, I would venture to say a good time is had by all. This place is awesome. They literally have what seems like everything - a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and juices plus organic sodas. I had my baby shower here, super low key and casual with about 9 people. They were great about taking a card for us and letting people come up and order what they wanted and putting it all on the card to make it easy. Their vegan oatmeal coconut cookie type things that are on the counter are soooo delicious! They taste like really good granola bars. I also had the fresh squeezed orange juice which they ran out of but it was so good. I told everyone to get it but they had none left. I also had their turkey sandwich which was good too. My husband loved it. Everyone seemed to like anything they ordered. The staff was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I can't speak for the food, but I went in this morning to try the Moko Jono. I was very excited to try this coffee that has added condensed milk, soy milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. You can imagine my surprise when I tasted watered down and flavorless coffee in my first sip. I've been here quite a few times especially when I used to live downtown. There was a time when the baristas weren't that welcoming and I felt rushed when looking at the menu however I stopped in yesterday and they were mellow. As far as the food and overall establishment, it's a really cute coffee shop that caters to vegans and carnivores all alike. I am smitten with their treats and baked goods. That is always what had me coming back, especially the coconut biscuit and vegan peanut butter and chocolate brownie! :p They offer all types of coffees and teas including Kombucha (even locally grown) and the cutest novelty items you can buy. I love the ambiance overall as it's interesting to see local art on the walls and all types of board games and books lying around for anyone to partake. We pulled into the drive thru around 10:40 and waited 25 minutes in the drive thru only to be told they were not taking drive thru order and we needed to place it online and then wait AGAIN through the drive they line. The woman that spoke to me had yellow big bird hair and did not seem empathetic at all that we had just wasted so much time without knowing their policy. I was in Orlando for a few days and man, Drunken Monkey is a true treasure in this city. My husband and I are coffee snobs so we tend to judge coffee spots, haha. He ordered a regular hot black coffee which was super flavorful. After reading reviews, I decided to order an iced mojo jojo and hot daaaaaaamn that cup was so good that I ordered another one to go. They had an amazing selection of vegetarian foods for people like me and I was surprised to see a selection of vegan and gluten free products too. I ordered a yankee biscuit (biscuit, egg, cheese and veggie sausage) and it was cooked to perfection. I also ordered a bowl of vegan Mexican soup. I can't tell you what was in it but I inhaled it. Most delicious soup I've ever had! I ordered an Anzac cookie and ate half on the way to the car. It was so good that I sent the husband back in to buy the rest of their stash. Also for a vegan chocolate chip pecan cookie and some regular chocolate chip toffee cookies. Parking is plentiful and inside is nice and cozy. I wish there was a Drunken Monkey in San Diego. I would have definitely made it my go-to spot for everything. Staff is friendly and honestly, the only thing wrong with this place is that they're not in San Diego too.
