Update I try to connect them at the email that they post up here to send them my appointment information Freon January 16 of course it wasn't working. I'll post a picture maybe like that they find it .

Seemed a little rushed and under staffed at first but everyone was really nice. Loved how my hair turned out! Will definitely return when I'm back in town.

Came in to get a simple blowout courtesy of Yelp Elite in January. My stylist was friendly, blowout was simple but pretty. Would definitely come back prior to a work event or wedding for this service.

Excellent experience. I've been here twice now with different stylists. Usually when I travel for work Drybar is convenient but poor quality blowouts. This location was fantastic. Week one just a standard blowout which lasted 5 days. Week two was a black tie gala style and held up perfectly all night. Excellent friendly staff too. I'd definitely go back again to this location when I'm in Chicago.

I had booked an appointment the night before my wedding at Trixie Girl on Michigan Ave. The stylist never showed up... I was frantically calling around at 7 pm and Drybar accepted me for a last minute, 7 am appointment the next morning. Iriana Y styled my hair and it turned out PERFECTLY! Great conversation and I was in and out in 30 minutes. Thank you so much!

My "cosmo" hair. This picture was taken right at 12 after leaving the salon at 11! So AWFUL.

I got there 5 min early and Tiara was on time and so sweet and SO talented. I've had makeup artists just want to finish the job, but she truly took the time to make sure every detail was perfect. After my makeup appt I went to check-in for hair and somehow the front desk had swapped me with another hair stylist. I kept showing her my confirmation, but she could care less and was so dismissive. Even though Tiara was with another client, when she saw what was going on, she immediately stepped away and came over to help. She spoke to Juan and got him to swap clients with someone else so he could do my hair. He, of course, did an incredible job and was super fast to make sure I got out on time. Huge kudos for Tiara for not only being an incredible makeup artist but also for taking care of me even though it wasn't her job!!

I booked my appointment by phone and explicitly stated that I am a Black woman with textured hair. I was informed the blow dry service would be $85 as long as it did not exceed an hour and a half. Upon arrival, there was only one stylist, who had ample time to assess my hair and discuss expectations. However, there was little to no consultation and minimal communication throughout the service. For context, I previously worked at a blow dry bar and am familiar with standard industry practices. A blow dry service--especially for textured hair--includes washing, conditioning, blow-drying, and finishing with hot tools (such as a flat iron) to ensure the hair is fully smooth and polished. When my appointment ended, my hair was left voluminous, frizzy, and clearly unfinished. No hot tools were used. I was told this was the end of my service. When I explained that this did not align with industry standards or my experiences at other blow dry salons, the owners were contacted and responded in a condescending and dismissive manner. Rather than addressing the incomplete service, they minimized my concerns and made it seem as though my expectations were unreasonable. I left without receiving the service I paid for and felt that my hair texture was treated as a problem rather than something the salon is equipped to serve. Accepting clients with textured hair while failing to provide equitable service--or clearly communicate limitations beforehand--is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location to anyone with textured hair unless major changes are made in training, communication, and accountability.

I'm really impressed with their business model because it's damn hard to find great makeup artists and hair stylists that stick to a pretty solid routine so you know what to expect. I feel like Goldplaited is the like the Lettuce Entertain You of hair and beauty. Like... you can ask for completely different styles or even get different makeup artists (like when you walk into different LEY restaurants) but the level of service and outcome is consistently on point to your level of satisfaction. One time I asked for a stylish pony, another time vintage hair half up/half down, and both times I was obsessed! The makeup artists know how to make you look natural but elevated. Your skin looks like your skin, just better. For make up, I've requested twice (from two different artists) "a natural, me - just better, look," and also a soft glam warm smokey eye - all of which were PERFECT! I did not have to touch up through out the day. All I did was either add more moisturizing spray or UD's All Nighter Spray. Note: If you want airbrush, request it beforehand when you make your reservation. An added plus is that these artists have RANGE! I'm in my 30s but I've seen ladies with mature skin (50+), Gen Z, I mean the skin types ran the gamut and all of the ladies that walked out of there looked beautiful AF. Not to mention the different hair types and requests that they knocked out of the park. The girl that did my hair (twice) was confident and knew exactly what to do even with a brief description or photo. Her confidence gave me confidence knowing she knew her sh*t. And my hair came out perfect every time. The place is very clean and I've consistently seen the artists wash their brushes between each new client. Making appointments online is easy and metered parking is always easy to find. The makeup and beauty industry can be hit or miss but whoever is hiring/training at this place deserves a damn award. And of course, the artists there are just SO talented. If you've got an event, check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

My hair was damaged, uneven, and honestly I was scared to try again. Lira changed everything. She not only helped me achieve the blonde I originally wanted, but she did it in a way that protected my hair and brought it back to life. My color looks beautiful, natural, and exactly how I envisioned it. Even better--my hair is actually growing back and feeling healthy again. Lira is truly a master of her craft. She listens, she cares, and she knows exactly what she's doing. If you're thinking about going blonde or need someone to fix a color gone wrong, she's the one you want in your corner. Absolutely worth every visit.

First I will start with what was good…read more 1. The dye job ended up beautiful. I came in with pretty unclear instructions and reference photos and both the stylist and the owner were able to figure out what fit my needs. This seems to be a huge strength here. 2. They were able to fit me in last minute. What was bad 1. The total time listed online was 1.45 hours, the service ended up taking 2.45 hours. I have been to many salons and never had my hair take that long, especially when I was getting all over color and a blowout (no haircut). Perhaps this was due to me booking last minute. However, the website booking made it look wide open and I think it is the responsibility of the salon to accurately represent their booking capability. I would not have booked with them had I known what experience was to follow. 2. The salon overall seemed overbooked and people were bouncing around. Three different people worked on my hair. Personally, I really didn't like this set up. I like to build a relationship with my stylist and this hectic atmosphere was not synonymous with that 3. The blowout I had was so uncomfortable. The rollers were tangled up in my hair and I could feel it ripping out as the stylist took them out. I have never have a blowout be so painful. My hair had so many split ends after I looked in the mirror at home. 4. My hair fell the moment I stepped outside. Granted it was a windy day, but my hair doesn't typically fall that fast. I think this may have been due to the stylist rushing at the end. On one hand I'm glad she did because I had been sitting alone for quite some time, but on the other hand I paid for essentially nothing. My old stylist back home (moved cross country) had no problem giving me a blowout that lasted at least a few hours. Even on windy days. 5. At one point the owner took my stylist in the back and seemed to be scolding her. This is never something a new client wants to see. I immediately felt anxious that something had gone wrong with my hair color. It ended up great but tbh experience was awkward and handled strangely in my opinion. 6. Finally. The price came out to $260 for all over color and a blowout. I wouldn't mind this price if it wasn't for the lackluster experience. Hair salons are charging luxury prices without offering luxury experiences. The pricing structure is also strange. They charge $60 extra for toner but I have never had a color job that didn't need toner to look good. It feels strange to not include it all together. The toner charge was added after which was a surprise because toner has always been included in the price. To be clear, the website did ask if I wanted to add toner for $60. I thought that was for someone coming in looking just to tone and not add more color. Perhaps this was my mistake but I found the whole pricing structure strange. A few other things to note: water was offered but never given and they only accept cash/zelle/venmo tips. Overall this salon was not a fit for me. A lot of this is subjective preference but I think it's important that people understand what environment they are paying for when they sign up to spend hundreds. That being said, the color was beautiful and I am grateful for that.

I have been looking for a new hair stylist in Chicago and I stumbled upon The Hair Loft on Yelp. I…read moresaw that there were so many good reviews for Alison so I thought I would have a great experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I told her that I wanted to try some light curtain bangs but was worried because my hair is really thick and I had never had bangs before. Not only did she cut short, thick, blocky bangs that didn't look like the picture I showed at all. I told her that I didn't like them and it would be nice if she could blend them in with the rest of my hair. She told me that it wasn't possible and that curtain bangs are meant to be blocky and short (I don't think she knows what the trending hairstyle looks like. She admitted she needed to ask more questions. ) Then she told me to schedule another appointment with her in a few months after my hair had grown out to come back and have her cut it again.... She tried but honestly it was the worst haircut of my life and I would not recommend her to anyone.
