I checked in over phone 3-4 weeks later and the rep promised me someone would get in contact with me. It is now nearly 2 months later with no response at all. Awful! ### 3 stars isn't bad. It means you were OK. But I don't think OK is what I experienced and therefor must give only 2. Cleanliness - there were hairbrushes on the floor. I'm, ok..Why are they on the floor? Will they get cleaned? Service - I was offered champagne. Cool! It arrived flat. Not even a single bubble in there. Ew. I shouldn't complain for free bubbly but this sets the tone for experience. My stylist seemed to hate his job. He was impatient and short with me. When I was flipping through the look book and showed him styles I like from 3 different pages that had different labels and names he just waved me silent and said they're all the same. During the styling process, he kept looking off and daydreaming. I was worried and started to reconsider if I should let him curl my hair. Then halfway through curling, another stylist takes his curling iron even though he said he was using it. WTF. She gave him a new one that he started to use immediately rather then waiting for it to heat up. I got some bouncy curls in the end, but he left my hair very frizzy and unpolished. Five stars for Kaleb! I absolutely loved my stylist, you need to ask for him! Besides being an all around great guy, he works quickly. My hair looks great! One star for Drybar Union Square. The place has become a total dump! Only one sink was usable since all other sinks are clogged and get back-up to the point of disgust. Kaleb had to stretch a sink hair hose from the station next to us, bc it is the only sink that has somewhat good water pressure. Coming into Drybar, there was a huge back up and a 30 minute wait time, and I now see why. The staff doesn't have the proper equipment in the washroom area to get their jobs done well and in a timely fashion. It's a shame because the other staff seem to be doing the best they can, but customers are angry with them, when all they are trying to do is their best for the clients. That seemed obvious enough to me when I checked in and eavesdropped on conversations. Kaleb was also very apologetic for the wait time, but he clearly has no control over it. When I finally was called for my blowout, he did my hair in 30 minutes, and I have long, thick, curly hair. Not sure if Drybar corporate even reads these things, but I think they need to come up with a way to make their locations more presentable and more 'user-friendly' for their stylists. Especially where clients get their hair washed. Drybar Union Square is one of many examples I have experienced since Drybar first opened years ago. Wanted to get my hair done for a special occasion. I've gotten blow dry before so this wasn't first time however it was my first time coming to Drybar. I was kind of nervous coming here because I saw such low ratings on this place. I thought about it and theres something that they're doing right or else how do they open 3 stores in sf?! I made my appointment a month prior on their website and it was easy! The day came and I was running late because I was stuck in traffic however they happily accommodated me and changed my appointment a little later which I do appreciate. It's located in downtown so I wouldn't recommend driving here. Take public transportation or uber/lyft. I got there and check in the host first. Shay or Shey was the one that styled my hair. She was very nice & friendly! She asked me what style I wanted and I told her Mai Tai so loose beachy curls. I was done in less than an hour! In the end I was super satisfied with how my blow dry looked. The total was $51 not including tips. If you want to tip your stylist they'll give you a mini envelope you can put your tip in! I will always go back to Drybar if I need to get my hair done! read more

My blowout turned out just fine - not the best I've ever had but in the top 50% - and I was seen on time (though arrived 10 minutes early). $45, to me, feels standard so I had no concerns on the price point. Extremely disappointed. This was the worst one-on-one customer service experience I have ever had! My co-workers and I had appointments today at 11:30 AM. They were pretty on-time calling us, but that's one of the few decent things I have to say about this location. My stylist obviously hates his job. He was rude and short from the beginning. He called me, I grabbed my bag and by the time I turned around, he was gone. No "hi," "nice to meet you," "my name is ______," "you can put your things down here," or anything. He asked me what style I wanted and didn't speak much after that, not even to offer me anything to drink (my co-workers all got champagne or coffee...). I had to put my Kate Spade bag and jacket on the FLOOR (HATE DOING THIS) because he didn't say anything about placing them anywhere. Overall, he was so clearly annoyed to be my stylist. At one point while drying my hair, my earring flew off. Instead of helping me look for it, he stood there with the blow dryer in hand, making me feel stupid as I looked all around the floor for my earring with a huge barrel brush hanging off the side of my face. "There it is," he pointed to the floor. I still had to find the back of my earring and he got annoyed and left. Left. Me. There. He finally came back and wrapped up my hair with the same attitude. His co-worker finished off my requested look with a waterfall braid - and to be honest, she's the only one who deserves positive recognition out of this whole experience because she was nice, calm, and patient. After today, I will not be giving The Dry Bar anymore business. I have frequented several locations across the U.S., and I'm not sure how it's possible that I end up wasting $45- plus the suggested $10 tip each time. Today was the final straw, as I took all preventive measures to make sure the previous results didn't happen. 1. Downloaded the app and made an appointment. 2. Detailed in the comment box while making appointment that the last few times I have been in, my curls have fallen flat within an hour. 3. Explained to assigned stylist that my hair has fallen flat in the past and I really need for the curls to last all day, as we were doing a photo shoot for the (at) San Francisco Instagram account. She assured me the curls would last all day. 4. She washed, dried, curled my hair- I asked for the Cosmo. She lightly sprayed it. It looked lovely! Fingers crossed!!! 5. 34 minutes later my hair was nearly straight. I photographed it, making sure the time was documented, completed the survey with all the details, and no feedback has been received so far. 6. I called: only to be placed on hold and oddly enough I was disconnected. Twice. I have no problem when curling my own hair, having my hair stylist curl my hair, or going to other dry bars where my blowouts and curls stay for at least two days. I cannot figure out if it's the conditioner, or hair products they use on me that cause the curl to fall. Customer service is by far on the rapid decline. read more

After having really good results at another location while traveling, I thought I would buy a membership at this location. Unfortunately when i arrived for my first visit , they girl with maroon eyebrows at front desk checked me in but then dropped the ball and kept me waiting 45 minutes. I asked what as going on. People who were clearly walkins were going ahead of me and she said that it must have been the other girl who checked me in. (It as definitely her) then said she would find somebody . The person who wound up taking me seemed nice at the beginning but then partway through began making remarks about the texture of my hair. It came across as passive aggressive and I didn't appreciate that at all. Yes, my hair is highly textured. But 1.) That's how the cookie crumbles, sometimes you have to exert yourself and not every head is going to be thin, straight star to begin with. 2.) stylists should be able to do any texture hair. It's not sorcery, hair is hair... just use the techniques appropriate for the texture 3.) I don't appreciate being made to feel like I'm bothering the person who's getting paid to do their job. gripe about it in the breakroom if you must The stylist was doing things to my 4a hair like flatironing parts of my hair while other parts were still wet. She should have blown all my hair dry first - and then begun heat styling. It was weird as hell. Then she was trying to comb the wet parts of my hair with one hand while holding the hairdryer under the armpit of her other arms, awkwardly. I almost wanted to explain how to do a silk press with chasing because it was clear that my hair would not last me the trip back to my house given her lack of familiarity, but then I thought nobody like a backseat driver. I also figured maybe she knew something I didn't. Also, she had been nice to me at the beginning of the visit, even though by the end she wasn't really bothering anymore, but ugh... I did see some black stylists there, why are they letting a sister get mangled without at least giving a few pointers? so much for solidarity I guess. Weirdly, the best hairdresser I've ever had was a Korean stylist in LA. So you obviously don't have to be black to do black hair. But you do need to understand how it reacts and what techniques are effective for every texture. Finally after 2 hours of being in the chair, I told her I had to leave for a doctors appointment and left. I tipped out of pity, but wasn't happy with the results. She asked if I wanted hairspray and I felt like asking if she was kidding. Why on earth....? It was obvious that i was going to have to finish it myself at home later, so no thank you I don't want any hairspray lol. Sure enough, my hair was puffy by the time I hit Berkeley. I also missed my appointment.hmmm.. I originally had put two stars but now after typing this all out, I'm downgrading to a 1. I can, however highly recommend the Buckhead location of Drybar, where I was in and out in 90 minutes, with a beautiful style that garnered compliments for days. read more

I love this place for its convenience. I have my friend/go-to stylist that I typically go to but because she is busy appointments book up fast with her. Sometimes I need a Sunday or Monday appointment which my friend is off. With dry Drybar, I love that you can book an appointment online and there are plenty of different times available. As for my hair and stylists-I have had no complaints. My hair always comes out great and the stylists do their thing. I feel like this place is for the woman on the go. I don't mind that there isn't a lot of conversation-I just want to be in and out. The price is reasonable and I like how accommodating they have been. I am glad to have this place as another option especially if my friend is not available. Love this place! read more

Super easy online booking, whimsical decor, and ace blowouts for $40 all day long make Drybar a slam dunk of a treat. But when about to embark on an 11-hour flight to a country with weak hair dryers, a blow-out at Drybar becomes a non-negotiable for me. My story? I booked a first-available appointment at 7am last Friday and 45 minutes later, I walked out with bouncy, voluptuous hair that stayed that way until the following Wednesday. Five days of bombshell hair on the road = priceless, truly. Why waste your time on painfully long blow-outs when you could be exploring the sights already? I was so excited to go to dry bar for my graduation pictures. I received a call 3 hours before my appointment to let me know of the cancelation for myself and my mom. In the voicemail they said to call back to reschedule or further questions so I called back a couple minutes after and the line kept ringing after I selected to talk to someone. I called back around 5 other times and still no answers. Now I am stuck in a pinch as I traveled to SF with no hot tools as I was preparing my photo looks with my hair look. So this is two days after my blow out and I realized a couple of things after my blowout: - My ends were really dry and that's because they would blow the hair on the comb directly making the hair burn. Why do they do this? To speed up the drying time, but it's also very damaging. There should always be small space between the hair on the comb and the distance from the dryer. Imagine blowing hair that is completely wet and adding heat directly on it. This is like curling WET hair with a curling iron. What do you get? Damaged, dry and brittle hair! - I also noticed that DryBar didn't have cosmetologist licenses out for the public to see of their stylists - which they are by law suppose to do which leads me to question if their stylist are all certified... read more

As someone who's been getting blow outs at salons every 2 months, I understand what I should expect. I also have a very high tolerance for pain and let me tell you, I almost cried during my visit here! When the stylist found out it was my very first Drybar visit, he would not stop talking about how he'll make it a fun experience nor did he stop doing his sales pitch on every single product line. That I can somewhat tolerate. But he literally torched my scalp. Those drybar hairdryers can get really hot. The first time it happened, I thought it was a one-off mistake so I didn't say anything. Then it happened again, so I spoke up. He apologized but then burnt my ear with a curling iron. Then he burned my scalp again with the dryer! I asked him nicely, "please stop burning my scalp. It hurts so much!", which apparently didn't appreciate, because he started to brush out the knots in my hair by tugging super aggressively rather than holding onto the hair and untangling. Lost quite a few hair strands, let me tell you! Half my scalp was burning and my eyes watering by the time I made my payment and flew out of there. Shame - I loved the store front, but hated the torturous experience. Not recommending this place to anyone. read more

My actual hairstylist is a super busy guy, so when I just need a quick wash and style or I have somewhere fancy to be, I'll hit this place up. I always feel super confident when I have good hair. Fun fact: I'm a comedian, and part of my pre-show ritual is getting a blowout. (I usually save the drinks/greenery for after my set.) Don't know where all the bad customer service comments come from. I've always had good experiences here and the folks in the front are nice. Tip: if you've already washed your hair or are in more of a rush, they can also dry-style for a lower price. read more

I had quickly made a same day appointment online for 7:45 a.m. put it through on my home computer and dashed out the door to get downtown. When I arrived, Mia kindly mentioned that my appointment did not go through but would I mind waiting until 8:15 a.m.? My client was at 9:00 a.m. so no problem. Mia wasn't assumptive or rude but incredibly HELPFUL in getting my needs met which were simple...just a blow out by an awesome staff member which is exactly what happened. I just got an email to fill out the survey for my experience and I forgot that I meant to write a yelp review too! My appointment was very annoying, to say the least. I went in with something relatively simple in mind for a wedding I was to be a bridesmaid a few hours later. I have short hair, so I just wanted something sleek and smooth (it's too short for curls or waves, etc.). I ended up being at that appointment for over an hour bickering with the stylist about how my hair should look. She kept making my hair bigger and bigger joking that she could go smaller but really shouldn't as it will deflate within the hour? Who knows. I give this place two stars because she did keep asking my why I looked unhappy in an attempt to salvage my hair and my appointment did start on time. However, I left my appointment really unhappy and really annoyed. For me, it was not worth the 40$ I spent on the appointment. I left because I had a makeup appointment with the rest of the bridal party at noon, but if I had the time I would have stayed to have her fix it instead of having to go back to the hotel and fixing my texas-sized hair so that I wouldn't look like a freak in wedding photos. Drybar is my secondary rent check--the happier rent check that includes mimosas, cookies, chick flicks (+ elf during the holidays), and smiles. I've been going to the Fillmore location for a couple of years and absolutely love it. The scalp massages and moroccan oil products are great, but what really makes this place stand out are the stylists. You know you've got a good thing going when each visit starts with something along the lines of "how was that Beyonce concert last week, or that deadline you had?" and ends in a hug. Corny, maybe, but Drybar is my oasis. How does this relate to the new Union Square location? Being so loyal to Fillmore, I was worried to even venture to the new location, however I ended up there this morning. I recently bought the 3 day bender curler, but have been struggling with getting the hang of it. I even went to youtube for a lesson, but twisting my arm in weird directions/trying to figure out how to switch sides based on my mirror image was making me feel dyslexic and I needed some guidance. Stopped in on my way to work and asked for help. The girls at the front were super nice, and Bailey offered to teach me. She sat with me for a good 15 minutes coaching me on how to curl and even offered to touch up my ends. My life is better with this knowledge and I'm excited to come back and try out this location. My friend and I made an appointment to get blowouts while on a girls weekend. We arrived on time. It took 15 minutes for me to get started with my stylist, but my friend waited 35 minutes before her appointment started. My stylist did a good job and I walked out with nice hair that looked styled even the next day. It took about 45 minutes. However, my friend wasn't done until more than 2 hours after our original appointment time!! Insane! And her hair had almost completely fallen out by the time Uber dropped us off at our hotel. An hour later you couldn't tell she had spent almost $50 before tip to get her hair done. Incredibly disappointing!! Had the stylist thought her hair was too long to blowout she should have advised her of it rather than totally wasting her time and money. What a scam. read more

She has such a welcoming personality and knows her products and I liked her physical style. My only constructive feedback is for the manager of the store. It was my first time in that location and I have to admit it wasn't the best look versus the one in Burlingame . Bathroom wasn't clean and the other stylist didn't look well put together there. I made an appointment here weeks before they opened for a Friday at 4pm. Somehow, their system screwed up, and my appointment was switched to a Thursday at 4pm. A friend of mine made an appointment that just disappeared altogether. This wouldn't have warranted a 1-star rating, except when I called them to move my appointment back to Friday, I received no service whatsoever. I was told that they were completely booked, there was nothing they could do, and I received no empathy or apology. I ultimately made an appointment elsewhere, as my event was the very next day at 6pm. I'm sure they do a great job once you get in, but I wouldn't bother trying again. read more

After my one star review I was offered a 10 minute head massage to make up for the filth of both the salon and the people who work there. Not to mention waiting 15 minutes without so much as being greeted. I don't care about freebies, but they should offer for me to come back to experience the place again...Meanwhile they need to clean the place, have someone actually sit at reception and ask staff to wear clean clothing. This was my first time at a dry bar. The concept is brilliant. No colors or cuts, only blow-outs. I live out of town, where these sadly don't exist, but it's a treat to come here. I have curly hair, so a blow-out means I take on a different persona for a few days. I usually like them to blow-out my hair with a large brush, so there's volume and curl at the end. I don't want it poker straight. I told her I wanted big southern, desperate housewife type hair. It's not necessarily in their book of styles. The book of hairstyles only has about five different looks, but really, how much can you do without getting into up-do territory. While my hair was definitely straight and looked nice, it didn't have the volume I've gotten before on my blow-outs at my normal salon. But for $40, I was happy with what I got. I love the idea of buying packages to get your hair done X amount of times a month or over a couple months. If I lived here, I'd totally do that. Apparently this is the only drybar in SF that is literally dry, as in, they are not allowed to serve alcohol. That's what my hairstylist told me anyway. I was pretty bummed about that, as I was excited to enjoy some champs with my blow-out. None-the-less, I left with a straight head of hair, so I was happy! read more

It is back to its prior, subpar self, staffed with inexperienced, poorly-trained "stylists". Now that many high-quality salons in the area are offering better blowouts at similar prices, there is no reason whatsoever to go here....Sad, but true... PREVIOUS REVIEW: After several subpar experiences in the spring and summer at this DryBar outpost, I had given up hope. Poorly scheduled appointments, long waits, and inconsistency among the stylists was the only constant here. I never knew what my hair was going to look like when I left the salon. I decided to give up on this location, and just go to one of the many other hair salons in the area. (The problems are similar in most cities where DryBar is located. The company has attracted lots of competition these days. Salons nearby all now offer walk-in blow drys for the DryBar, or lower, price. All of the DB's I have visited share the problem of inconsistency among stylists, many of whom are right out of school and inexperienced. Across its territories, DryBar needs to get its act together. It must offer value, a "something extra", and must do it consistently across stylists and across locations.) So, it was with great reluctance that I recently decided to give the Union Square location another try. And, as usual, despite an appointment, I still had to wait an hour. "Sorry, but we had a big group party." was a very lame excuse. I was about to walk out when I was told that "Rob" was ready for me... Rob Castner is the new manager of this location, and he quickly diffused my escalating anger and tension. Apologies are just words, but what he was able to do with my hair in less than thirty minutes was the proof in the pudding--it was nothing short of amazing. Rob has worked at several DB locations across the United States, and it appears that management has recognized his talent and ability to train employees, manage a salon, and give clients what they want. It is clear that he was brought in to turn around the Union Square location, and it is also clear that, despite the lapse at the front desk by very recent new hires, Rob is taking control here. He knows not only what his customers desire, but also what his employees need, and how to get the best out of them. When I went back to the salon days later, things were running much more smoothly. No wait. Rob remembered me by name, and knew exactly what I wanted done. He again performed miracles in less than 30 minutes, and I left the salon with the great hair--and a smile. Thanks, Rob. I love Drybar and am lucky enough to live right by the first shop. So for an upcoming wedding at the Westin St. Francis, I decided to save myself the hassle in doing my hair so I booked an appointment at the Union Square location. This seems like a very busy location. My appointment was at 2:15pm and I arrived about 5 minutes early. As I was sitting there waiting for my turn, I saw the end product for a few ladies. I was getting more nervous as the minutes ticked by, not only because it was cutting it too close to when I needed to be ready for the wedding by, but also because I did not like any of the finished results of every single person I saw so far. So when it was hitting about 15 minutes past my appointment time, I cancelled and just purchased their Happy House shampoo & conditioner I love to do my own hair. read more

You could wash your hair at home and give yourself a decent blow dry and curl for $0, or you could waste your time (+1 hour) and come out with limp uneven curls with hair full of product for $45 + tip. I came here to have my hair blowdried and curled for my engagement photo shoot and I was extremely disappointed when leaving the salon. I wish I could take back the time and money spent here and have gone to another salon. I think a lot of these experiences are based on specific stylists, as I saw women leave with decent hair. My stylist did not know how to use a curling iron or blow dry efficiently. She spent ~30 minutes blowdrying my bangs (which then left my baby hairs stick up for the rest of the day), until I told her I had to be at another appointment in 40 minutes. Then she hastily dried the rest of my hair and waited for the curling iron to heat. When it did, she proceeded to curl my hair, but it was fairly apparent that she was a novice and had barely qualified. I wish this place could control their quality standards and at least have their stylists prove they can indeed blow dry and curl hair in a timely manner instead of hiring anyone with a license. read more

It breaks my heart having to write this review, but I don't feel like I got what I paid for. I was so excited for my blowout appointment yesterday afternoon. My boyfriend, who I haven't seen in a month was taking me out to dinner and I wanted to look and feel like a million bucks. Upon checking in I was impressed with the salon: it is super chic and fun, but it wasn't enough to keep me distracted when I had to wait 15 minutes past my appointed time. The stylist was sweet and helped me pick out what I wanted. She asked me if I liked products and I told her I don't mind it as long as the volume and curls stay throughout the night. She advised tighter curls so that when they lose their springy-ness it would still look like elegant waves. I agreed with her and let her work her magic. After 50 minutes of wash, a full blowout and countless spritz of hairspray, i was spun around to see the finished product. To be completely honest, I was thrilled. Voluminous, Glossy curls framed my face. I leave the salon and walk two blocks back to the office. As I look into the mirrors I was shocked to see that my beautiful head of hair lost its volume - straight up flat on top - and the short-lived curls looked like a tangled bird's nest mess, not the elegant waves I was promised. I had to spend some time brushing through my hair and pulling out knots. I was devastated. I wanted to cry as I put my hair up in a ponytail that evening. Safe to say I won't be back. read more

Severely disappointed. Came here on the morning of my best friend's wedding with all the ladies to get blow outs for her big day. I had never had one done and was super excited. I proceeded to tell my stylist that my hair is super thin, that I wanted lots of volume and curls that would last all day, thus ordered a Southern Cosmo. It lasted about 2 hours before it fell completely flat and looked HORRIBLE. Thinking that the blowouts I had seen in the past looked so great I didn't bring my curling iron with me to the hotel, bad idea.. I couldn't even fix my hair for her big day. I had to be in pictures with flat, product drenched hair. The worst part is that while waiting for the bride to be finished I was looking at products and asked a women who worked there some questions and she ask me "Are you having your hair done with us today?" She couldn't even tell that I had already completed my blowout.... WOW. I curled my hair this morning for work at 8am and it's still curled tonight (7pm) and that after going to the gym! I have gone to the this location as well as the one on Fillmore and Santana Row. Problem at this one is that all the girl's are inconsistent at their work. This was my first time at a place like dry bar. I will say if you are a woman with African American hair that's natural I would recommend calling first to make sure it's someone who is familiar with our hair texture. I called and had a very lengthy conversation with a woman at the salon just to make sure they could accommodate what I wanted. I will say I left pleasantly surprised! I don't remember the young lady who helped me but she did a very good job. They don't put any oils or anything like that on your hair so once you get home that might be something to consider. Yesterday I came into drybar in the financial district an hour early. I was sat in a chair within 5 minutes. Lilliana was my stylist and I will never see another! She is a beautiful soul. She was very accommodating. She used a heat protector on my hair before blow drying it. She only used Moroccan oil as I requested. The best part of all is she took her time with me. I have natural curly hair - not wavy hair - curly hair. I have medium tight curls. A lot of people don't know what to do with my Afro Latina hair, but Lilliana did a perfect job. I got Cosmo Tai. My hair is so soft and my blow out looks just as beautiful the next day. I def give Lilliana five stars. This is my first yelp review and I'm glad I saved myself for this experience. Haha. Drybar sent me a follow up survey after my appointment (not sure if that is just for the first visit or all of them) and I responded with the same info as in my review below. Within 24 hours I received a call from Tasha, a member of their customer service team (you can also see that the owner/founder Alli commented below). I missed the call but she left an email address and we have corresponded that way. Tasha offered another blowout to make up for my experience. Unfortunately there are no Drybar locations anywhere near me but I really appreciated the response.The customer service that Drybar has provided after my appointment has been really great and super responsive. read more

I work in Union Square, and walk past this place weekly on the way to lunch. The sign promoting a $40 blow out has ALWAYS caught my attention. However, I am an African American woman with natural kinky hair, and I NEVER see anyone in there that looks as if they have my texture of hair. So, one day I figure.. Why not call, explain my hair texture and PRAY TO GOD someone has the experience (and patience) to deal with this beast. The receptionist was kind, and assured me that there was someone who could do it, it would probably just take a little longer. I was fine with that. Today, I came in for my appointment, was offered a beverage, and waited until they called my name. After a couple of minutes, a handsome guy named Luis greeted me. He had BEAUTIFUL naturally curly hair, so that made me feel good. He sat me in his chair and explained the process, he didn't seem timid at all. He even told me of a story about how he use to practice on a friend of his that had my texture of hair... That REALLY allowed me to relax as he went to work. He was SO PATIENT and kind! My hair turned out GREAT! And only took an hour! (A bit long for the blowout experience- but EXTREMELY SHORT for dealing with my thick hair) Needless to say... I will be back! And I'm telling all of my natural friends to go to DryBar on Kearny to see Luis! read more

I love Drybar and love this location and come here on a weekly basis. The team of stylists here are professional, friendly and caring. I never have to wait more than 10 minutes and I am always happy with my results. Definitely book your appointment online through the app it is so easy. I wear extensions, so it's important to me that they are in the hands of true professionals. Each of the stylists here knows how to handle extensions AND they have an in-house extension specialist who trains the stylists on how to handle extensions. I especially want to call out Fukayna, Trish, Megan and Saeed for their expertise, professionalism, kindness and always making me feel and look fabulous!!! I encourage people to ignore some of the nasty reviews on here as they seem to be projections of people having a bad day or a rough time. Drybar is a fun and relaxing experience and love the team here at Union Square!! read more

I see why people say the staff here is really rude. I tried to walk in to make an appointment and ask questions for a different day, but the front door was locked. There wasn't anyone at the desk and there was someone sitting close to the doors working on her laptop, she tried to help me get in, but she didn't have the key to unlock the door. Also, the doors at this location are 2 double doors, the door on the left side doesn't have a handle, just a piece of screw coming out from the inside, this is really a message to corporate headquarters, if one of your franchises wont even allow for drop ins, or potential customer questions, shouldn't you do something about that since that makes your business look like it doesn't care about getting new business???? There are a lot of other salons offering the same service who leave the doors open or at least unlocked and who maintain the appearance of the shop, there is no reason to waste money here. read more

I came in to get a blowout after having used Drybar in new york and being very pleased with it. This experience at Union Square was very bad. When I first walked in a person asked me if I'd like some water and I said yes - I never got the water. I noticed that they did that to other people as well. Why ask when you don't bother to provide the service? Small details like this are very important. On to the stylist - I explained to the stylist - that I am getting on a plane in a few hours and need to have my style to stay till the next day since I wont have time to get a blowout when I get to my destination. I think i explained my expectations to her quite clearly. The end result was that my hair looked nothing like I had asked for - it had weird noodly curls to it!! She tried to fix it again but it was still bad. At this point she tells me - i guess we are having communication issues and proceeds to call the senior stylist. After having spent almost 2 hours trying to get my hair done, i really didn't have the patience to sit through another ordeal and I had a flight to catch. They offered to not charge me but I insisted to pay, so they agreed to let me pay half - in retrospect I shouldn't have paid at all, my hair was FLAT before I could even board the plane! I called the next day on the 1877 number and some woman took my name and number down, but i didn't get a call back. I called again and left another message and still no one has called me back. Its now been more than a week! This whole experience was very upsetting - starting from the studio to the stylist to the customer service. The New York drybar locations are so much better and they really do listen to you and do deliver! Please stay away from this place. read more

This was my second time at a Drybar. The first was in Las Vegas.Even though I was traveling 90 miles I got to the salon in plenty of time and then waited.They sent me several texts to be on time yet they weren't ready at the time of appointment. The stylist was very friendly and my hair looked good until I walked outside in to the wind. All that product they spray on your hair doesn't do anything. Also the smell of their products stink. Not the shampoo but all the styling sprays. For $49.00 and tip I expect more. Sadly can not recommend this place. read more

My blow out was good. Erica was very nice and understood what I wanted however the place needs some attention. It's DIRTY! The rolled up towels that are for display haven't been changed since day one. They look black from all the dirt. The bathroom is dirty and the people working there look tired and unhappy. There are better options than TDB. read more
