I've came to Dry Bar twice and both times I had an amazing experience! Fukayna is THE BEST! She is so talented and amazing at what she does. I love the ambiance of the salon. Also the products work well and smell SO good! I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they are going to wash my hair first! Love that! My first time I got a Cosmo-Tai and the second time I got the Southern Comfort. I loved both styles, but the Southern Comfort is my fave! I used to be a regular but ultimately ended up cancelling my membership due to the poor customer service and unprofessionalism of management. They wouldn't not even greet me when I walked into the salon, and made it seem like I was bothering them. I would be reprimanded if I didn't put "curly hair" in the notes so they could block more time.... And I didn't because when I did provide those details, they appeared to argue over who "had" to take my appointment when I arrived. Recently, my friend shared that she had been to the salon and had raved about it, so I decided to give it another try, just knowing inside it would be the same lackluster service. This was my first time at Drybar, came for my bday to get a blowout since I normally do them myself. I have curly hair, 3c curls and the lady that did my hair was nice but there wasn't a thorough consultation. I feel like the stylist was maybe in a rush and took large sections which in the end my roots were still curly and my hair got super poofy and frizzy just 10 min after leaving the salon. I'm now having to look for another salon to fix my hair for my bday because this is not the desired result I was hoping for :( read more

I was finally taken for my appointment 50 mintues after I arrived which I learned is pretty typical. No apology or acknowledgment of the delay-- the manager & front desk person were so unprofessional and profoundly disinterested in getting customers handled. They seemed inconvenienced. My stylist was lovely, though, and did a nice job with my hair, but even she said the place is a trainwreck and the service is embarrassing. Hard pass on ever going back. Went here for a blowout. Arrived about 10 minutes early and was not greeted or acknowledged - finally after 15 min someone came and let me know they were ready for me. I told her a basic blowout was fine. She did my hair in like 15 -20 minutes and during that time I took a nap. I woke up and she was done - she literally then walked away without a word it was weird. I went up to counter to pay and the lady that did my hair was no where to be seen. Again waited 10 minutes to pay. During that time I realized I left my sunglasses at the ladies station. I went back and they were gone - these are $500 pair of Chanel glasses disappeared like wtw! Stay away from this place - ZERO customer service and super shady. read more

I'm updating my review because I've had nothing but 5-star experiences with three incredible stylists at this location: Fuki, Brittany, and Charis. Each of them is not only kind and detail-oriented but also incredibly efficient with blowouts. Every time I book with them, they make me feel welcome, always offering water or champagne, and they put in real effort to perfect the style I ask for. They've completely changed my view of this salon, and I'll happily return for any of them to do my hair! Highly recommend! read more

The owner of this franchise location should be embarrassed of the way the staff is running this location. I had an appointment at 4:45PM on Saturday October 14th. At 4:50 asked if they knew how much longer it would be. I am a very prompt/early person. If you are on time, you are late. I would never arrive late to any appointment without calling at least five minutes ahead of to inform the person of my tardiness. I was told "oh you know, it's Saturday". Um, no I don't know. What I do know is I scheduled my appointment in accordance with an event was going that evening. The receptionist started conversing with a stylist who it seemed would be working on me. She had a young lady sitting in her chair who she started blaming her tardiness on; "She had snot of hair"...This poor high schooler/college kid looked mortified. I talked to the manager who also said "some people have a lot of hair", when I asked about the delay. I asked why they didn't call to tell me I would be delayed. They just kept saying "it's Saturday" and "we are doing the best we can". I'm sorry, that's not acceptable when people come here to get ready for events. I finally left at 5:05 and went home to do my own hair. Dear owner, you should probably clean house and start over. This isn't how a Dry Bar should be. read more

I would say save the money or support your local shop. They were very nice but I was incredibly disappointed. Usually when my hair is washed, it can last up to a week, I had to wash it the very next day. It was like a big mess, the extensions weren't dried all the way at the base, it was hair sprayed while being semi damp which created the mess. The lady was very nice but states she had been working with extensions for 20 plus years so I assumed the extensions would be dry. I asked her to tease it to hide the showing extensions from the way she styled it, instead it was backcombed with still seeing the extensions on the sides. I was just thoroughly disappointed because I thought I'd leave loving it. There also was not much of an actual hair wash. Again, she was very nice, although I also wasn't offered any sort of beverage, which a glass of champagne would've atlleast made it a little more bearable. read more

Wonderful and Friendly staff. Their prices are amazing. I've used them for my daughter's prom and homecoming hair up do's or beautiful long curls. For myself, I use them for having my hair washed, blow dried, and straightened or lightly curled. When I try and do my own hair all of that takes me almost two hours, I have a ton of hair that is 1/2 curly and 1/2 straight; just a mess! It takes them an hour and it looks and smells amazing. read more

I don't like to give low star reviews, but here we go: First off, my stylist was so sweet and lovely. But I think they must be overworked and underpaid. When I first arrived, I waited about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged my existence. But I'm a people pleaser, so when asked if I waited long, of course I said "no" (something to work on in therapy, ha!). Then I was told that my requested scalp massage might not be available, because she "might not know how to do that" (this from the front desk lady). I thought this was strange, but oh well. Luckily, my gal sure did know how to do one (it was great!), but it was a strange interaction. Then the general appearance of this location has gone way downhill. Brushes missing pieces, they were out of products, faded signs. This used to be such a cool atmosphere and place. And while my gal was LOVELY, my blowout was just...not great. My hair must not have been completely dry because my natural waves had popped through by the time I got to the car. I blame management and possibly overworking and undertraining their staff. If you are looking for the posh, fun Drybar experience of 2016/2018 (the last times I was there), this is not the place. read more

Avoid at all costs. Support your local hair salon instead. If you must come here, I strongly advise to arrive 30mins early to check in. They overbook and by the time you are called, it's about 30mins to 1 hour from your appt time. Several customers abandoned their appt slot since it was cutting it too close to their event. When I finally had my service, the stylist didn't shampoo thoroughly and still felt my oil build up on my scalp and the style I requested was not what the stylist did. It was too late to change the style with the pounds of product they piled onto my hair. Overall, extremely disappointing service and needs a major overhaul. read more

They texted me the night before the appointment that 10am was no longer available and gave me another time that I could not possibly make happen. The lack of stars is for how their scheduling works, they always do a pretty great and fast blow out. One example out of about 3 of bad scheduling (it's mostly been a recent issue so not sure if change of management): I had 1pm appt and they decided to close for lunch from 1-2 and not tell me, so it became 2pm spot without notice I have a 3 week old and this was my first outing without him. I had 1pm appt and with no heads up they were 30 mins late. I timed appt perfectly with being able to feed my newborn. I explained that when I got there and they didn't put me ahead of someone who also had 1pm appt. I also said I booked online for someone who can do braids and then they gave me to someone who couldn't do braids and the person in front of me had someone who could. The whole thing was crazy and made no sense in terms of how to run a business. The front desk person was not equipped to help me and she actually gave me her managers direct phone number to call, which seemed unprofessional although I appreciated it. She was just totally overwhelmed by the situation and it wasn't fair for her to be there alone. Again, not the end of the world, just disappointing. Another example is I had a 1pm appt a couple months ago and I showed up to see that it was closed until 2pm. I do have to say they normally do a very nice job with hair though (depending who you get). Ps lost faith in humanity as front desk person asked if I could go ahead of two other women (one of which had appt at same time as me but had gotten there before me) and she told them I had a newborn at home who I had to get back to feed and they both said "no." I called management since they weren't in the store and they didn't bump me ahead of the person who had appt at same time as me. I know it's a first world problem and I should have just gone home, but I did so much to get out for my first time without my newborn and it was to have nice hair for our newborn pictures that day. I went to the Drybar this morning for my engagement shoot this morning and couldn't be happier! I was a little nervous after reading reviews last night (at that point it was too late to cancel) but highly recommend based off my personal experience. I arrived at 7 AM for my appointment and was kindly greeted and sat right away! My stylist was so kind and paid so much attention to detail when styling my hair (we went with old fashion curls with some major tease in the back). She got me out within an hour as we originally discussed too. I noticed some reviews mention poor service / unkind staff but I couldn't have had a more pleasant experience with everyone. The stylist next to us even complimented my hair! So excited for our shoot today and feel so confident with my curls. read more

I've noticed that this location has been consistently late for the last 6-7 times I've gotten my hair done. The customer service, management, quality of service has gone downhill, and the quality of work has worsened. The staff always have excuses about the length of time it will take and blame it on my hair taking more time. Having been a loyal customer for almost a decade, I've seen and experienced different stylists and observed varying techniques and levels of skill in doing my hair. I appreciated being able to book online. However, the confirmation email didn't give helpful tips: where a button-down or zip-up, wash your hair the night before and ensure it is fully dry, etc. Trying to call 2 days before puts you in an endless loop of an automated call tree that doesn't answer these questions. I came in for my 8:30 appointment. An updo appointment runs 90 minutes, but I was out within 50 minutes. I asked for a tea as my drink of choice and was seated in a chair and watched The Devil Wears Prada. I want to say Christine did my hair (beautiful cool blonde woman with fine, thin hair). She thankfully knew how to do an updo with my fine, thin hair. She was very professional, eased a lot of my worries. I told her that I wanted my hair back, up, and to be able to hold until 10pm. Boy, did that hair hold all night! She did a great job. On the down side: no one ever refilled my 5oz tea. Hair spray probably got all up in that tea, too. I would come here again, if I had a very special occasion and needed an updo. I'm not sure I would do it for a night of going out. read more

One star is generous. Please READ AND LISTEN to the reviews and warnings! I've never been to Drybar ever. My first AND LAST time! I didn't look at reviews before scheduling and I should have. I looked at reviews too late on the day of. Once I saw the reviews about not getting in even with an appointment, having your appointment time changed without notice, or canceled on you I called to verify my appointment. I had to call 25 TIMES! When they did answer on the 25th call they immediately put me on hold. Then confirmed my name and appointment time. My appointment was at 3:30. I had family photos scheduled at 5 pm in Walnut Creek for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I had to leave right after the appointment. I got there at 3:20. Got checked in by a man at the front desk. He left around 10-15 min later it seemed for a break or for the day. I wasn't checked on until a nice young woman next to me started asking when she would be called back. She originally had an appointment at 3:45 but the stylist texted her come earlier at 3:15. At 4 pm her and I both were wondering if we would ever get our name called to get our hair styled. We both had events that we had to go to immediately after our appointment. I started calling other hair salons around but none were available immediately or open. There were only two stylists working. The man that checked me in at the front desk came back around 4 and helped the woman in front of me who was told to come early. One of the women stylists once finished worked on me next. I had 30 mins so all we could do is wash and blow out my hair. I showed her what I really wanted was my hair curled but after waiting 40 min and only having 30 mins until I had to leave for family photos we could only blow dry. I couldn't believe they charged me the full price. I gave the woman a tip because it wasn't her fault. She was new from the concord location and was doing her best to check people in and do everyone's hair since there was only her and one other woman hair stylist until the man came back at 4. One woman came in shortly after me and had a 3:30 pm appointment as well and she decided to leave after waiting 45 min. A woman came in around 4 with her two daughters and she was upset because she had a 4:15 and was waiting well after 4 to be seen. It's a big mess! Don't chance it! So I get there and it takes a guy 10 minutes to come up to front desk, mind you there was already a woman who is very frustrated in front of me who waited for 30 minutes and no one ever checked her in for her appointment. I come up to front desk to ask the gentleman about my appointment and he tells me I don't have one. This is ridiculous!!! Come on Walnut Creek do better with your staff! I really don't like giving bad reviews, but I really think this is necessary.. I made an appointment for a Friday before leaving for my trip to Paris. I have very curly hair. But I usually blowout my hair very easily myself using the Revlon One Step, but I wanted to give this a try. Big mistake.. I left with my hair being so fluffy and frizzy. I went straight home to try and fix it myself. Maybe this place is good for easy straight hair blowouts. But if you have curly hair go anywhere but here. Two stars for friendly staff. The blowout was great- however when I checked out- they charged me for the full amount, versus using a blowout credit I had on my account. I came back in after noticing this in my bank account and was given the email to reach out to the manager, Jayleen. I emailed the address provided to me- and it bounced back. I called again and left a message. Called again the next day and spoke to a lovely woman who was part of the external operator they used. She told me would get in contact with the manager for a refund. The manager then refunded the amount BUT it was the incorrect amount!! Called back and no answer- left a voicemail. Still no reply. I went in to buy a gift card for Mother's Day, like not even to get my hair done, a nice simple gift card. How hard could that be? Aaaaand it took almost 20 minutes of waiting for the employee to bother to get around to actually selling the damn thing to me. Literally doing everything else besides the two minute transaction that this would entail, including texting, taking pictures, cleaning up etc. I legit saw her texting and she wasn't even trying to hide it Like I was just trying to buy a gift card??? I wish I read the reviews before I went. I booked an 8am updo online and when I showed up they said my appointment was at 7:45. I showed them my email stating that I booked an 8am appt. They gave me a stylist who had never done an updo, but said he could try. I declined. Such a waste of time. The staff acted irritated with me when I got there even though I was on time and clearly stated what style I wanted when I booked the appointment online. I've been to many different Dry Bars over the years and have gotten various styles done, but I did not have a good experience at this one. I had scheduled an Uptini (something I have gotten at a different DryBar location and loved the outcome) for an event I had. First, they were 30 - 45 minutes behind because it was high school prom. Not ideal, but it happens. When I finally got in the chair, my expected 1.5 hour appointment only lasted barely 35 minutes (including the wash). DryBar allocates 1.5 hours to up-dos and in the other DryBar locations I have visited, they really do take that long. My updo was messy and immediately started to fall when I left the salon (did I mention there were only 7 bobby-pins in it?). All that happened was some teasing, throwing my hair in a bun, and adding a few pins. No curling iron was used and just one elastic alongside the 7 bobby pins. I had to take it out and redo my entire hair for the event I had. I had two other appointments scheduled at this location for later in the month but cancelled both appointments because I might as well do my hair on my own. Definitely skip this Dry Bar location and try your luck elsewhere. read more
