Very happy that Drybar is finally in Walnut Creek. I love how easy it is to book an appointment online. When I arrived they took me back right at my appointment time and I was finished in an hour! This is pretty impressive given the fact that I already had thick, long hair but also because I'm currently pregnant so my hair has been thicker than usual and typically takes me longer than an hour to do myself. My hair does hold a curl well and so far my blowout has lasted 4 days so I'm happy. read more

Wait and wait some more I called and booked an appointment over the phone. I was threatened that if I was late I could lose my appointment and be charged $20. I assured them I would be on time. I was told I had to leave a credit card number to be used in case I didn't show up. My appointment was for 4:30 and I walked in the door at 4:15. It took at least 10 minutes to get to the receptionist at the front desk because of the people crowding around. No one acknowledged me or said "will be right with you" while I waited. Finally I was able to check in and was told they were running late. My husband drove me since my hand was in a cast and I couldn't drive. When I asked what time he should pick me up I was told "it'll be at least an hour" with no apology given. I was asked if I would like something to drink and I said I'd love a glass of champagne if they are pouring that. The receptionist said sure and proceeded to forget about me for over 10 minutes. When I reminded her about the champagne she brought it to me. Finally after waiting for an hour I asked how much longer it would be and I was told there were three people in front of me!! All of them had waited more than an hour so far! My husband's patience was used up and I had to leave with my undone hair that I am able to do myself with one hand. I was told I would not be charged. Gosh thanks. Maybe a discount coupon for another try would be a better offer. Lots of good places around. Try someplace else!! read more

Quite annoying to wait over 25 minutes after my appointment time to be seated and have pay more for my street parking. What is the point of an appointment? I have things to do. 5-10 min is understandable but over 25 is unacceptable. I'm never coming back here. read more

I was using Drybar at least twice a week while leaving in a different area and they were amazing. This location, however, is horrific. I have now gone there three times, giving the benefit of the doubt, but all three times my stylists were behind and unskilled. The last two times receptionist, who happened to be a stylist as well, had to step in to save the day. Simple mid-length blowout mind you. Seems she is the only one who can do the job. Back to Blow Dry Bar, they don't have the availability Drybar has but definitely worth scheduling in advance. read more

I was so excited to be the "client" for once, being that I do hair. I walked in and no one greeted me. So I asked for a menu and availablity. Then had to ask if I can make an appointment. It was like pulling teeth. Mind you I was also offered nothing. So I sat for my appointment. A group of older ladies walked in and were greeted, and offered champagne immediately. Finally got my blow out. My stylist was really nice and did a great job. When I asked her about serving champagne, she said oh you didn't want any? And I told her no I was never offered. She then asked the manager if she could grab me a glass and the manager right away rudely asked for my ID. I totally understand that part but no need to be rude or be rude because you obviously assumed. Iam 35 BTW lol. read more

It took 2 hours to blow out my hair, making me late for my grandmother's celebration of life and I had to completely redo my hair. It looked terrible. Nothing like the "cosmo" style that I asked for. read more

I decided to come here to get my hair done before a wedding. My appointment was a 12:30 and I waited about 5 or ten minutes. The scalp massage was nice but the blowout and style was awful. I asked for a Cosmo-Tai with volume and body and stated I needed the style to last for the rest of the day and evening. After blow drying, my hair had no volume or body. I can do a better job myself at home. Maybe it's the products they use? Not sure. The curls were not great and fell by the time I got back to my hotel - 20 minutes later. I ended up having to re-do my hair before the wedding. Complete waste of money. I should have listened to the reviews and went elsewhere. read more

First time coming to this location in Walnut Creek and it was awful! I'm a big fan of Drybar but the experience I had at this location this morning was awful ! First of the girl who did my hair didn't wash my hair properly as I have a lot of hair and I mentioned it to her to please wash my hair good! And I had to tell her basically what to do when she was doing my hair! I wanted her to straight my hair that simple and my hair was puffy when she was done! Not happy at all! read more

My last two visits have been very disappointing. At my first visit the receptionist asked me if I wanted anything to drink and I ask for tea, I'm still waiting. The hair stylist walked me to the shampoo area, didn't pull out the step stool, so my feet were just hanging, not to comfortable. I added the scalp scrub to my blow dry but the girl never mentioned it. On the way back to her chair I asked if she added the scrub and she said "yes" but she only rinsed my hair twice, I don't recall it being a leave-in scrub. During the blow out, she only spoke to me to make comments about how my glasses were in the way..seriously, sorry I don't have 20/20 vision. Then onto my second visit last week, I decided to give it one more try. I was going to a wedding and wanted to have a braid going across my crown like a headband. Based on previous comments I read about braids & pricing, I confirmed with the receptionist the pricing. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and got something completely different. I expressed that to the stylist and she said she could do the braid over, I offered to show the picture again but she said no and she still did it wrong. And because she redid the braid, she didn't have time to use the straightener to smooth out my hair. So disappointing. read more

Typically my blowouts have been fine but this last one (8/24 at 12:45) was so bad that I had to be sure to provide feedback about my experience at some point. The problem I had was with my stylist. From the first time I met her she seemed very abrasive. I kept thinking if she was having a bad day. She was super rough on my head when washing it. Throughout my blowout she kept tugging incorrectly or something on the brush that it made me feel uncomfortable. She also let the heat sit a bit too long while drying my head that I had to tell her that it's too hot on my head. She then lightened up on the heat but like I said she kept handling the brush and the flow of blow drying my hair wrong to the point it continued to make me uncomfortable. Then when she was flat ironing my head I kept cringing in hopes she doesn't get too close to my head that she burns me. There were a couple times I felt she did. It was the most unpleasant blow dry experience I have ever had. read more

I am not a regular blowout person and I've really disliked blowouts in the past, so I was a little worried about Drybar after reading some of these reviews. But I had a great experience recently. It was a quiet weekday morning, the front desk lady was super nice, and Tabitha did a great job. I tried to describe what I wanted (which turned out to be something of a mix between a straight-up and a southern comfort) and she explained every step of what she was doing, asked before using any products, and also did a really thorough shampoo. Plus she just had a really chill vibe, and the salon was bright and clean. read more

My first visit to Dry Bar and let me say, I was impressed! It is so difficult to find someone who knows how to blow dry my hair due to its texture. And let me say, Marisela did an amazing job! My looked beautiful and the style and body stayed in my hair (I have thin hair) stayed in for 3 days! I received so many compliments on my hair and plan to go back to her in the near future. She rocked and her professionalism and customer service skills were superb! Truly a gem! read more

Ugh. Slightly disappointed. Booked my first blowout here (also purchased a membership, btw) and made a point to ask WHO is experienced with flyaways at this location. I was given a few names by the rep on the phone, and then proceeded to book an appointment with one of them. I was 100% flexible on timing, but wanted to be with someone who knows how to tame flyaways. When I checked in, they told me the girl I booked with wasn't there and they assigned me to someone else. Ok, no prob. I'm not going to assume the worst, but rather just see how it goes. Well the girl they assigned to me had a TON of flyaways herself. That's not a good sign in my book. She also didn't ask me if I wanted a second shampoo (thought that was standard to ask, maybe not?). The girl next to me was asked. Anyways, all I really care about is lots of volume and SMOOTH hair. The result? Just fine. Definitely not $50 worthy though. Since I bought the membership I'll of course be back. Hopefully next time with the girl I actually requested... and a few less flyaways as well. read more

My first blow was amazing and sleek. Loved it. Thank you Javier for the 5 star service! The second time I went in (Javier was not there:( ), I left looking like Carol Brady. My sister saw me and told me I looked hideous. It was true. I asked for a Manhattan with volume at the roots. Large round brush was used and she was blowing and curling the hair with the brush only. Never once did she take a flat iron to my hair. I have naturally curly hair. I left with the underneath curly at the roots and the rest of my hair looking like Carol Brady-puffy on top with flipped up curls on the bottom. It was not current or cute and I was disappointed because I was heading out to NYC where I wanted to strut my stuff in SOHO. Instead, I looked like I belonged in Frumpville. read more

I have been a fan and coming to this location since it opened. I opened a membership months ago, don't do it! When I opened my membership in this location I was with my daughter (underage) and I payed for her with my new membership. My first question before I enrolled to the membership was if my daughter could use it too and they said yes. That day and since then I have been using my membership more for her than for me and using it in this location. Tonight, the girl at the cashier decided that there is this rule (that no one has apply to me), that the membership is not transferable and she made me pay my daughters service with another credit card. After that i cancelled my membership, she showed zero loyalty for clients that have been there since the open (she can see that in my account) and tells me that I have 90 days to use the blow drys that I already paid! Now, the services that I already paid expire? Totally ridiculous! Don't get the membership! They change the rules whoever is in the cashier. Very disappointed! read more

Sorry, but this Drybar is the worst! Everyone was waiting a minimum of 30 minutes past their appointment time. I waited 45 minutes. I asked for a glass of water and only got it after the third time asking. I had to ask to make sure the shampoo was washed out of my hair. The finished product was stone straight with no style whatsoever! Where are these people trained? I've been to Drybar in Las Vegas, New York and Palm Desert and never had this kind of experience. More than half the time, no one was at the front desk leaving people standing there. Plus I overheard other people walking out saying that they had to go home to do their hair again. How can they charge these prices and stay in business?? read more

I decided to give Drybar a try before an event I had that night and unfortunately I would not recommend coming here. I heard great things about other locations but my friends and I all left disappointed and had to quickly re-do our hair when we got home. First, we wanted to sit next to each other which we were told they couldn't guarantee, but they ended up calling me first and seating me directly next to a different girl that had an appointment at the exact same time, and put my friend on the opposite side of the salon. I showed my stylist a picture and explained the style I wanted in detail and it turned out completely different. She tried to fix it but it wasn't helping so I had to rush home to fix it, which by the time I got home, it was almost completely straight anyways. Not sure if the stylists just aren't as experienced bc this location is newer, but I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more

My friend and I went to Drybar to get our hair done for a wedding and my 30th birthday. We both walked out loving our hair. I woke up the next day after spending the entire day and night in 105 degree heat and my hair still looked amazing. The staff at this location was very friendly and welcoming. Yesterday 10/12/2019 at 2:30 pm I came to the Walnut Creek location to get a dry blow out service since no regular blowout appointments were available. I waited a good 15 min past when my appointment was suppose to start and finally got a stylist. I followed her to the seat and she asked what I was looking for. I told her I wanted the cosmo-Tai with a lot of volume. She began with my bangs and was very rude to me from that point on. She straightened them and they looked terrible and had a part down the middle I told her that wasn't how I did them usually and asked if she could try to make them more even and she told me that was how my hair was and she couldn't do anything about it (which to be frank I came home and fixed them in 30 seconds) she then proceeded to curl my hair and sprayed it and said you're done. I asked if she could add more volume up top because it was so tight to my head and she rolled her eyes at me and sighed then proceeded to tease it. I was so discombobulated at the point I decided to just leave. My hair was nothing I thought it would be. All she did was curl is. She didn't use any heat treatment, didn't blow it out or even try to make the curls less tight. I was so upset that I paid to have this done when this was so easily something I could have done at home, without any unwarranted attitude. I would not recommend, the customer service and overall service was terrible read more

If I could give this location no stars I would. I've been to DryBar across the country, a current "barfly" member and this experience was the absolute worse! Bad service all around, they were 15 min late, I booked an appointment with. Mudslide mask. That never happened, then they were going to charge me for it. And when I paid I was interrupted many times, the cashier was very distracted. When I told her I did not get the mask there was no apology nothing....I even had to make my appointment later In they day when this service was available! I told her I had blow outs left on my account she said no you have already used the 2 this month...did not bother to look in my account because low and behold she found I had 5 left to use....then I bought product she dismissed me and I had to ask for my gift card back that had $100 on it and the product was only $29! She said I can't tell what's left on it but here you go...I said well it's a $100 gift card and the product was $29 so I still need the card back! I won't be back to this location read more

I had high hopes for my second visit, as my first stylist (Marciella) did a great job with my fine, but tons-of-body hair. Not to be. Substitute stylist Jordan Heller yanked/pulled/over-heated my hair, leaving me with a pile of straw-like limp locks the next morning (this was after I stressed to her the importance of getting the look right as my band had a big show in LA the next day). It was a disaster, and forced me to have to wear a wig(!) during our performance. Not cool to promise a specific stylist (on the phone, no less) and then deliver a substitute with much lesser skills. Time to try the Blow Dry Bar down the street. read more

I used to love going to Drybar in Arizona but this new Walnut Creek location is not worth the time or money. They started their appointment 20 minutes late, had my hair pulled way too hard for an hour, and the blowout itself did not last 30 minutes outside. So disappointing. read more

Really upset my hair uncurled within 3 hours!!! I visited dry bar today with a friend of mine. She's been going there for a while so I decided to try it out. Note I have gotten my hair blown out before and loved it but not at this location, the girl helping me was not very friendly but I thought okay it's fine I'll just let her do my hair, so she proceeded to wash , dry, and curl my hair. I did not like the blow out at all my curls looked like the wig George Washington used to wear it looked awful, but I figure give it time maybe it will loosen up a bit and be better, we decide to go to dinner we went stayed out for a while, I went into the restroom looked in the mirror and my hair was completely straight! I'm very upset about this experience and probably won't be coming back tho I do have to say some of the other ladies were sweet like the girl Jordan I only recommend going to get she seemed to be doing a really good job on other ladies hair! read more

This was my first and last time at dry bar. I was really excited for a blowout and drove 30 minutes to get my hair done and I had the girl with dark hair and two nose rings and she was incredibly rude from the start. I was specific about wanting only a few very large loose waves and when I spoke up (which I never do, but it was god awful) about the Shirley temple curls she was giving me she snapped at me for not trusting her to finish. I let her finish for fear that she would snap at me again and at the end it was such an embarrassing look I asked her to run a straightener through the bottoms. She then started going on in a very passive aggressive way about how I need to be more specific about what I want and she was only doing what I asked her to do. I also told her I did not want hairspray and she used hair spray. It was expensive, she was rude, and my hair looks awful. Shame on dry bar for letting their employees behave that way. Never going back and you shouldn't either. read more

the absolute worst "blow out" i've ever had. this was my first time & I was excited to start going weekly to the dry bar, but i was quickly mistaken. made my appt over the phone and everything was fine, I get there and my stylist asks what kind of curls i'd like, i show a picture, she tries to engage in small talk, and once my curls are finished i'm so confused when I look in the mirror. my curls were nothing like I explained, and to be honest my head was a complete mess, it also looked like this stylist had zero knowledge of how to curl long hair to begin with. I was there for an hour and a half so at this point I was beyond irritated that my hair turned out so bad and that I was there so long. so I go up to the front, go to pay w cash & am told they don't accept cash, well it would be nice if that was on the site; or anywhere else for that matter. on top of that, i'm asked if I have extensions, which I do. so i'm then told the "style" will be $20 more. i'm furious at this point because was also never told that while making an appt or the entire time during my service. the front receptionist then goes and gets someone else in charge and they're awkwardly whispering & making me super uncomfortable that I don't have a debit card. I work in the customer service business & this location by far has the worst i've ever seen. I then am told I don't have a choice & have to go find a bank and come back once I have money on my card. it's pouring rain, 20 minutes until the drybar closed & i'm absolutely livid. I come back, the receptionist is even more awkward & all in all I paid $70 for the absolute worst "curl" job i've ever had and ended up having to wash & style my own head when I get home, which is exactly what I didn't want to do & why I came to dry bar in the first place. absolutely will never go back & this was a complete waste of money. read more
