Absolutely awful. I had my vents cleaned to prevent the risk of fire to my house. My dryer was working totally fine. well all risk of fire was eliminated after this company came in as they broke my dryer. On the day of service , as he was finishing, the service guy asked if my dryer worked before he came... the first clue he knew. Then he explained he threw in the internal cleaning of my dryer bc he got debris inside the dryer. He also claimed to not be able to clean the vent from the outside because he had no access. well fast forward to the next day when I find out my dryer no longer works and he explains to me that the company should tell you your dryer will be broken when they clean the vent. I got a bs story about the dryer not knowing what to do with the excess air...again my clothes dried find and the dryer worked wonderfully until they cleaned the vent. the company basically backed his bs, although let on he should have accessed the vent from under the deck but was lazy. they said he never should have told me that. if I want to pursue them fixing my dryer I have to have their dryer repair person come in and say it was their fault or I am responsible to pay him. Seems bias and like a cover up for faulty work. So now I am stuck way overpaying to have my vent cleaned as well as having to get a new dryer. Do not ever use them! read more

I would not recommend using this company. The quote that I was given over the phone changed once the technician came to my home. The technician seemed unqualified to do the cleaning and the invoice that was given was much different than what he said in person. Felt like a scam in just trying to get in the door and then switching the pricing. I would be highly cautious in having this company go into someone's home seeing how they do business. read more

I work third shift and I go to school full time. The technician left me a message stating that he wanted to service my vent around noon on a day I was scheduled to take a final. This was not convenient for me since it was in the middle of my sleep schedule. I left him a message at 9:45 pm the night before he wanted to come. Today, I called him to reschedule. He bluntly stated that he was no longer willing to service the vent, because he had attempted to come despite my voicemail message. Does not listen to voicemail and he is unprofessional. read more

Horrible experience. The gentleman showed up and couldn't find the outside vent. He was in my attic. I've never had had issue using the dryer. Was having it cleaned just to be proactive. First time using drying since the guy was in my attic and the dryer won't work. Error code says vent blocked. Too much of a coincidence. Called them to have them send someone back. They want me to wait over a week without a dryer. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Was told someone would call me back. No call ever received. read more

It's all downhill after the call center reception guy Charlie asked me how he can, "Make you smile today." Inexperienced young guy was sent and he looked around, didn't know how to fix the problem, $50. Said the boss would call; I had to call him. Do not use their (purposely hidden) ultra expensive services at all. I would give the serviceman, John G, a negative 5 star rating if I can here. First, he used scare tactics by saying this was not up to code and that was not up to code, and that each item needed to be fixed or replaced immediately. Then he told me the total was about $1000. Since I never used a dryer vent cleaner before and didn't know how much work was involved, I foolishly agreed to it after the owner gave me a 20% discount. It actually took John G a mere hour to finish replacing, and cleaning everything. In my calculation, that was $800 for an hour of work, and it was too late to dispute the outrageous charge. Then he rushed my nephew, who was helping the 70 year old me, to sign twice without showing my nephew what he was signing and asked immediately for the credit card. After he had processed the payment, he said that my nephew would receive the invoice in an email in about 20 minutes. Then he rushed out the door. After examining the invoice closely, I found out that he gouged me for every little thing he did. He gouged me for $150 for crawling in the attic, which was in addition to the $300 attic vent line cleaning charge! Then he gouged me again for $200 for less than 10 minutes of work (replacing the dryer duct). No wonder he rushed my nephew through the payment process and never discussed the breakdown and pricing. Attention Bowie area potential customers that live in a multifloor space. Do not use this service! I scheduled a dryer vent repair after a botched service with another company. My experience with Janelle and Akila/Akeela was very pleasant. However, the technician was initially helpful but the service took a turn from there. He canceled my appointment in error because "that is what he heard", barely apologized for wasting my time, rescheduled for the next day only to show up and not have the proper equipment. He reaches out to get someone else with the proper equipment and communicates that he will follow up with me as it may be another delay to the next day. I promptly let him know that is unacceptable and that I would have to utilize another company if they can't get the work done he very cavalierly stated "Okay". I call customer service to ensure that even if it's not him to complete the work only for them to call him and restate to me what he previously said. I thought that this experience would be leaps and bounds above the previous mom and pop operation, but, NO they are actually worse. We're approaching two weeks of not having use of our dryer and although there are a lot more important things going on in the World, this is one of the most frustrating service, or should I say lack of service experiences that I've experienced since living in this area. The service window was 8-10am, later extended to 10:30...it's 1:40pm and no work has been done and no follow up received since 10:54am. They are the worst. their goal is to come in and charge $300.00 and get out as fast as possible, half hour at most. Tried to clean out a long vent with a brush that was so old there were just a few bristles on it. Tried to replace a simple dryer vent door with major difficulty after 3 attempts I had to do it myself. $300.00 for nothing. They are not interested in how satisfied you are with what they do. The excuse for the high price is: "when you use us in the future you rate will be cheaper, its just the first time. Hey there is nothing I can do about the rate, its a franchise" charged my credit card, the charge on my bill was in the techs name not the company, sounds like something is not right. Stay away!!! My DVW service tech, Andrew Laurice arrived exactly on time for our appointment. He was courteous, knowledgable, explained everything about how DVW works, and went right to work. It became apparent soon after that in addition to my ducts and vent being clogged, the duct was somehow folded (or smashed together) and that had completely blocked the flow of hot air to the outside. He had everything needed to repair it in his truck. Within an hour he had everything fixed, cleaned out and running smoothly. He even took temperature readings which were back in the normal range. We had the usual signs that service was needed. Dryer seemed like it wasn't heating up, taking forever to dry, clothing always damp. Figured we had a vent clog as our dryer was not working efficiently. First let me say the appointment was easy to schedule, they offered weekend appointment and even on NYE day. The technician Jamie arrived on time . He was very knowledgeable, checked all areas where the vent travels including the laundry area, attic and roof .
