But gym shoes for my busy feet are much needed. The shoes I've been wearing are NIKE, and are nearly 3.5 years old. Yes. That's old for gym shoes. And the miles put on them are more then I can count. It was time to retire them- LOL. Walking into DSW, a stench hit me like a freight train. It was almost to the point of gaging. Was it all the people trying on shoes!!?? It was so bad I didn't think I'd be able to last long enough to find shoes. But I was on a mission and wanted to use my $30 Off coupon. It literally took me 10 minutes to find a pair of black Pumas, built in sock style. They had only 1 pair in my size 8. They were priced $59.99. I quickly browsed the clearance section, which was stocked with kids Vans. Plus the clearance section was an extra 20-60% Off!! I wanted to pick up all 6 kids some new Vans but the smell was seriously too overwhelming. I'll try to come back later. Seriously!! What is that smell!!?? Stinky feet!!? Check out was super fast and the cashier, Grace was friendly and welcoming. She physically checked both shoes and made sure they were the same size and zapped my $30 Off coupon. It didn't worked initially, but the manager quickly came over and fix the problem. I was literally in and out of the store in under 20 minutes with a new pair of Puma sneakers. Again, regular price $59.99, but after my $30 Off rewards coupon - only $31.79! I plan on going back and getting all 6 kids some new clearance Vans. They had some cool/unique pairs I have seen. I'm not sure if it's fair to judge a whole store by one representative at the front counter, but Christina had a real issue with the fact that I didn't want to add my telephone number when I was making a purchase for a pair of socks. She made a snotty comment about how "I guess you'll just have to pay full price then". When I commented about how invested she seemed to be about me and my phone number, she snapped back that she didn't care at all, because she gets paid either way. The whole thing just got very ugly. When I asked her name, she thrust her badge at me, stated her name, and spelled it out ...one letter at a time. I realize that life is tough out there when you're working a low paying service job...and perhaps I should have more grace for people stuck in those positions. But I really think the store should know who is representing them. Customers don't want to be harassed about their phone number and we like to deal with pleasant people. read more

No flats that caught my eye or peaked my interest enough today. Folks are mostly spaced out, except it's a bit tight by the clearance section. I saw some strange and furry crocs and Steve Madden shoes. I must have missed this trend. I did see interesting short boots and pumps, but was mostly looking for flats today. read more

Buyer be ware!.....DSW is now using a 3rd party for their returns. I was denied a return of a pair of shoes that were not worn, were within the return time, and with receipt in hand. The reason: too many returns. I shop a lot on line, and keep most of what I purchase. There was no appreciation whatsoever for the many many shoes I've purchased and kept only about the ones returned. Most of my purchases are done on line, especially with less and less brick and mortar stores available, and so returns are inevitable. When the staff person told us the return was denied, we were treated like criminals. Again, buyer be ware when purchasing at DSW. read more

I have a shoe obsession. I absolutely love shoes. I don't always get practical ones. But I am a little insane. For example. At last count I have about 10 pairs of red heels. Some are still in the box never worn. I mostly love Sandles and boots. I have a ridiculous amount. Shoes make the outfit. I can typically go to DSW and get what I need. Even last minute or in a pinch. They have brand names that are supposedly cheaper. Lol. Not always sure about that but regardless, they have just about everything. I often prefer to order on line as it's hit or miss size wise. I wear a size 7 which seems to be a fairly average size for women. Ordering on like is easy and you walk in and show I'd and you go. I had a good experience at this DSW. Picked up some shoes for my daughter and a Burt's Bees. When I went to pay the cashier typed in my rewards number and noticed I had an expired $10 coupon. She was very gracious and applied it. I really appreciate that high level of customer service, and going above and beyond! This location is a bit far so I don't normally frequent it, but I will be inclined to come more often since the staff was so friendly and helpful. This location has a decent selection and pretty helpful floor staff if you can find them. They do have a nice accessory section with your purses,earring,socks and shoe treatments like rain protection and shine products. The clearance selection is okay, however there is no real lighting over it so its hard to see what you're digging in. If you take your time you can usually find a decent deal though. I always check out the clearance section because you never know what you'll find. I love the DSW rewards and receiving coupons. For Christmas, I received a DSW gift card and with the reward I earned, I walked out with a pair of athletic shoes and some shoe laces for next to nothing. Yep, receiving these coupons keeps me coming back and it's always one of the first stores I look at when shopping for shoes. There's always plenty of help at the registers and there's always someone ready to help you out on the floor if necessary. Finding my size in a particular shoe that strikes my eye is usually the only challenge I've had. There have been times when I've found something I like only for them not to have my size. I don't want to order online if they don't have my size because finding the perfect fitting shoe is very hit and miss. I'd rather find a second choice that's in stock and try it on in the store. But this happens at any shoe store you go to so it's not a big deal or a deal breaker for me. Other times I find a shoe I like and in my size and I score a home run! I asked if I could receive expedited shipping and they gave me a gift card to cover the cost of the shoes. I wouldn't even have thought to ask for a discount. The manager is just amazing. Okay yes DSW... The Designer Shoe Warehouse is my weakness. Whenever my boyfriend goes into Best Buy I make a trip to go next door to DSW and get my shoe shopping fix satisfied... whenever I come here I always walk out of the place like I sold something because I end up using my rewards and coupons and saving like 80% off the pair of shoes I find. My best tip for DSW is sign up for their rewards program it is awesome. Take advantage of the app as well. Your birthday month you get free $5 reward and as of January 2020 you got a $10 award now I have a free $15 so I can get to use at DSW. If you're like me and like Bargains check out the back of the store that's where all the clearances are. Sometimes they hide the clearances in with the normal shoes to so make sure you keep your eyes open for the sign their color coded based on the percentage off so you go over at directly to your size and once you're in your size you just look for a specific color and that dictates how much percentage off it's going to be. I've walked out of here before with $150 pair of shoes for $9 now who can beat that. The next time you need some shoes come check this place out. read more

Personally I never liked DSW, l went there to get shoes and the store just felt odd and the selection was lacking.

HUGE selection of shoes. Lots of women's shoes, ladies you're sure to find a dazzling new pair for that new dress. For men, there are plenty of dress shoes, some sandals, and casual shoes, but not a huge selection of up to date men's sports though, so don't expect a Foot Locker type section. In my honest opinion, the clearance rack has good deals, but the general sales floor is mostly average deals and nothing to write home about. When you cross out the maximum MSRP and reduce the price a little, that is just doing what nearly any store does these days. Therefore, the D in DSW only stands for Designer. Often folks like to say it stands for Discount, but I beg to differ. Better deals can usually be had elsewhere. Basically, these guys are best known for their huge selection and sheer amount of square footage all dedicated to our square feet! Admittedly, loyal customers who sign up can get a $5 off birthday coupon, as well as occasional other coupons in the mail - which can make this store more appealing to check out. read more

After I had been in the store 20 minutes, a female manager insisted I wear a mask, even though I tried telling her the EO's have been ruled unconstitutional by the Mi Supreme Court so there is no longer any "law" demanding mask-wearing. She repeated several times that it is still a state mandate and refused my offer to show her the Supreme Court's ruling. I've have gone to this location about 10 times. I left only twice with a pair of shoes. 80% of the time they don't have my size. Which is 6.5 not an uncommon size. I was very disappointed with their return system. I purchased two identical pair of boots for Christmas gifts. I do my shopping ahead of time and when one of the gifts was returned they would not charge back my account. The box and boots were in mint condition. Not even tried on. They were simply the wrong color. They said they do not have holiday returns. I was over the 60 day limit they have for returns. I won't be purchasing any gifts from DSW again. Thr store did not have my size for a pair of shoes in the store so cashier offered to order online and have them sent to my house, she then ordered the incorrect size after I had confirmed the size with her a couple times. Received email indicating incorrect size was ordered on my account. Had to slug thru rush hour traffic back across town to fix. Cashier admitted she had entered wrong size and that it was the 2nd time that day she had done that with an order. Manager was pleasant when presented with issues,order was cancelled but could not refund immediately, said it would deduct from account in the next 3-5 days and could not give me any printed or digital confirmation when asked twice about it, just wrote with pen on receipt "3-5days"(after i asked him not to). if u can take my money immediately why can't u return it as fast when YOU are in error DSW? Since he had to call the warehouse to stop the order and also their comps were running extremely slow. Took about 20min for transaction when it should be 5min.
