LOL at this company. Just check the reviews and you'll see the blatant pattern of DTS Towing with Richard (the owner) at the helm and their unethical business practices. The 1 and a half star rating is telling. This company is a straight scam, they are one of the worst companies in an already scummy business. My apartment complex has only 6 visitor spots for hundreds of units, and street parking means hiking up a huge driveway late at night. I got my boyfriend a visitor pass, but when he arrived, resident-permitted cars were parked in the visitor spots and there were no open spaces. I called DTS after their Garden Grove location told me this branch serviced my complex. I explained the issue and asked if they could confirm which security patrol handles towing for the property, since my complex doesn't post that information anywhere. The guy on the phone kept saying he "had no idea," then guessed "Messina," but refused to actually look it up in their system. That made no sense. DTS clearly services the property, and my complex had recently switched patrol companies specifically because towing enforcement changed. He didn't say he wasn't allowed to give me the name; he just acted like checking was too much effort. I wasn't asking him to call security, give me a phone number, or authorize anything. My daughter's car was towed last night and it was completely her fault for not reading the signs and park where shouldn't have parked. She is a teenager so when she called me panicking I called Irvine PD and was told DTS is the company that towed the car. I called DTS just to get information abo what we needed to get her car released and the guy who answered the phone was so rude and nasty for no reason at all. I was not disputing the tow, I just needed to get information. And when my daughter went to their tow yard the guy at the window was worse than the one on the phone. He wanted my daughter to sign a paper to release them from all liabilities when we hadn't even inspect the car yet. and I'm so glad we didn't sign because it turned out they actually did damage her car. The car is running ruff, and all the lights on dashboard is on and doesn't go off. We actually had to tow her car after she left DTS. ANSWER YOUR FUCKING PHONES ! DTS towing in Lake Forest/ Dana Point are absolutely despicable people and a total scam company. They have one goal in mind, to delay you picking up your car by making it a hard as possible to connect with them. They then run up abnormal fees and either finally collect or repossess peoples cars for non payment. The owner ( Richard/ Dick) should be arrested! Just read his responses on Yelp and you will soon see what a douche he is! Also they are NOT not a Sheriff Dept approved tow service , in fact if you call the Lake Forest Sheriff Dept they will confirm that DTS is a scam and they get countless complaints about them. File a complaint with BBB, Call the OC DAs office and call the office of the sheriff and file a charge if and when you experience their scams. STAY AWAY! This tow company is one of the most crooked companies on yelp! The owner, Richard, was completely homophobic when I had the displeasure of meeting him. Absolutely fit the stereotype. But that's not even all! The service was absolutely awful, even criminal at times! This place is an absolute joke. They towed my car from my condo and told me to come to this location, so I paid for an Uber to get there. Then I find out my car is actually at a completely different location. Instead of taking responsibility, they had the nerve to insist they gave me the right address. So I wasted time and money because of their incompetence, and they still acted like it was my fault. IF YOU ARE A COMMUNITY LOOKING FOR A TOW SERVICE, STEER CLEAR! Richard, the owner of this company, is an ableist jerk! He made fun of my son who's IN A WHEELCHAIR to our face. My car got towed at night, and I'll own that part. But everything after that was ridiculous. I showed up right when they opened and still had to wait three hours for someone to actually show up. Every time I called, they kept telling me "20 minutes," which was clearly nonsense. Then, after wasting my entire morning, they charged me a much higher price than someone in my same neighborhood with the exact same vehicle. That's not a small mistake, that's shady! The owner Richard would not stop eyeing my wife. He would be staring at her chest while talking to me. Absolutely unprofessional and a total creep! Worst towing service I've ever dealt with. I was trying to explain the lease and show him the relevant name and information, but he wouldn't even look up or respond. When I pointed out his attitude, he openly agreed and snapped back that he didn't have to do the tow at all and could just leave. Then he slapped my driver's license into my hand and walked off. The entire incident is on our security camera, but even with video evidence, the company barely took the complaint seriously. Before coming to this place, please beware of the witch sea monster Ursula woman that works at the window. She is unfortunately an extremely unpleasant creature to have to interact with so I really am so sorry to anyone that has to experience that because our experience was terrible. I'm not sure what is so terrible in her life for her to be such a bitter, aggressive, and rude goblin because I saw that she was fortunate enough to have a soda with her from McDonalds that she was sipping on quite often. How do I give 0 stars? The owner is a creepy human being! You can read plenty of other reviews saying the same thing, but this company is exactly as horrible and greedy as people say. You could beat the tow truck back to the lot and they'd still magically find a way to tack on hundreds of dollars in fees. My Car was towed on Christmas with this company. DTS was not called by the security and MGMT Company to Tow Cars. DTS did not notify the local Sheriff department so I thought my car was stolen. No signs posted with there number they simply towed the car and held it hostage. The Staff at DTS told me to call the police if I didn't agree with the tow. If you a property managment company you put yourself at risk working with DTS. We have rights from predatory towing. read more

Our car was towed from in front of our house. This has to be the worst industry to own a business in ever. Ranks up there with Slumlords and Pimpin. DTS does not make it easy to contact them. You have to make an appointment way after they tow your car, so forget about going to work, you won't make it. You get to their iron gate and you have to know the secret handshake.
