    Lemongrass pork

My husband routed to this Duc Huong, but this location seems to be different from the others. Duc Huong is known for their garlic bread option, but this location doesn't do it. I didn't think much of it and ended up ordering two banh mi sandwiches, pork belly and lemongrass pork. It came out to be $18. I liked the lemongrass pork more because it was saucier/more flavorful. I thought the pork belly was just okay. We always get our sandwiches without cilantro and jalapeños. Although there weren't any in our sandwiches, you still taste a slight kick from the jalapeños from the pickled veggies (assuming they chop all their veggies on the same board). That's totally fine for me but not so much for my husband, who gets discomfort from even the smallest hint of spicy. We were a bit disappointed, since we were looking forward to getting Duc Huong's special garlic bread sandwiches. If you do come here, make sure to bring cash.

Also has good banh mi but is known for being the other location lol. Service is quicker but ambiance is not as good.

This was the first Duc Huong location I visited because it was kind of on the way back to the hotel from the office. This was not the location that I bookmarked. Yeah, I got lost and took the scenic route once again. I ordered the cold cut combo. They took my cash. A few minutes later, I drove the banh mi back to the hotel. The bread was good. The cold cuts were exceptional. The meats just seemed superior to the ones I normally get in the OC. If they put more pate on it, it would've been a great sandwich for my taste. The banh mi was good. I liked it. It's a good place to get a sandwich.

Visited this Duc Huong for the first time. Unknowingly passed by this place to eat at Pho Kim Long. The parking came get challenging during peak hours. There is another lot across the street. This place has not seating, so it's a grab and go place. CASH ONLY. The service is friendly, though limited English. They offer other Vietnamese prepared lunches, like rice noodle rolls, desserts, etc. *#1 Combination: cold cuts, pate, pickled daikon/carrots, cucumber, cilantro, & jalapeño (3.5/5). The sandwich was filled with slices of meat. Though, the bread wasn't toasted so it was a bit chewy. Otherwise, the sandwich was good.

I had the mini bahn mi a few weeks ago from another location and it was SO good, turns out there's one 5 mins away from me. This time I ordered the large BBQ Pork and everything about it was DELICIOUS -- except -- 1/4 of the Bahn Mi was a CUCUMBER! When I took the cucumber out you can literally use the Bahn Mi as a telescope -- no joke Anyways, I recommend y'all stick with their mini ones or go to their other locations.

Stopped by and bought some mini Bahn Mi. Love the bread and service is good. Called the order in ahead of time. Worth the drive from Hayward.

We were looking to get a banh mi so instead of going to a different one that's nearby, we decided why not try Duc Huong again? Well we did get lucky as we found parking as someone was leaving, but it's awful trying to park here during peak food eating times as you're basically competing with all the people who are going to Pho Kim Long. So just be aware of that when heading there. It's strictly a to-go spot. They have some premade food/snacks and desserts. Sandwiches are okay. Pretty much a deli-style spot kind of feel. Again not a bad spot to get a banh mi, but the parking situation can be a deterrent.

No avocado, and the chicken tasted old.

The cashier didn't speak English, which is fine, no problem. I showed and pointed to the items we wanted written IN VIETNAMESE. She could barely see (wasn't wearing her glasses and was squinting like crazy), and by the way she was looking at the words, I question if she could even read, seriously. Terribly frustrating, to say the least. But even worse than that, they got the order wrong! The "chicken and avocado" didn't have any avocado. The other sandwiches were just ok. Barely any mayo, way too much cilantro and peppers, and just an "ok" amount of meat. This place is also Cash Only, but there's NO signage in the store stating that. (??) I mean,... come on, man... What are y'all doing? And no I don't want to visit their other locations. It's out of our normal way. Unless the food is 100x better and the service is infinitely better at the other locations, I might think about it.

I had some work business to take care of in the area and decided to stop by and get lunch for me and my Darling. I always go for the large BBQ Pork sandwiches. The BBQ Pork they add is TOP TIER! I've had other BBQ Pork sandwiches at other mom & pop shops, but they usually come out kinda dry and stale. Not at Duc Huong, their BBQ pork is so soft and it LITERALLY melts in your mouth, and the best part is that they give you pieces with a little bit of fat on it, which basically just ties everything together. My Darling took a few bites and was hooked! We definitely need to go to the other Duc Huong location because they have garlic bread...also, the large sized bánh mì is $8, which I honestly think is completely worth it. Also, don't forget a can of sửa đâu nành to wash it all down! And make sure to bring cash! Also, once you order, make sure you stand by and wait outside or in your car, the shop is a tad small now because they have shelves for other food products. I took a photo of my bánh mì AFTER I took a few bites because I couldn't wait! Sorry, not sorry!

Got the Cha Lua sandwich with pate and it was CASH ONLY! It was about $8-$-8.50. The sandwich was fine! The space is smaller so there's not much of a waiting area. It does get busy though.

I gave it another shot, but unfortunately, I got the order wrong again. Luckily, my friend didn't mind having #11(the vegetarian) instead of getting #7 (Grilled Pork & Egg). Waiting time is still the same, 20-30mins for 2 orders in the morning. Food is really good though.

Wanted to pick up a quick lunch and decided to grab some bahn mis. I had heard about Duc Huong for a while but just never had a chance to stop by. This location is a small corner shop in the same plaza as the famous Pho Kim Long. I recommend stopping by during the morning or after the lunch rush because parking can be difficult. I stopped by around 11:30am on a weekday and there were already a handful of people in and out of the shop. I ordered 2 bbq pork bahn mis $8.50 each, made fresh. Note: they are cash only!! I didn't know and luckily had some change but was still a dollar short. The lady at the front counter was so nice, telling me not to worry and still gave me my order. I was so thankful! And now I can see why Duc Huong is so popular: the baguette was so fresh and stayed intact when holding all the inside ingredients. There was a good amount of sauce and veggies and the bbq pork was incredibly soft and flavorful. One of the best quality bahn mis I've had for a great price. I'll be back and with cash next time!

Broth was not so warm but has such clear clean taste. Can taste the aromatics more than the fish sauce in the broth; had a lot of celery like flavor. There were a couple of ribs in the broth with tender meat attached to it. I got the Nam Vang with egg noodles instead of rice noodles. The seasoning for the noodles had a slightly sweet sauce. Noodles itself was perfectly cooked, slight chew to it and not soggy. The dish had the sweet, salty, savory combo The egg rolls were on the smaller side but tightly packed with delicious ground pork. Crispy outside. Came with the slightly spicy sweet fish sauce with chili. The banh beo chen came in one small plate instead of little dipping sauce plates. It had minced shrimp (more like crumbles), friend pork rinds pieces, and green onions. I like that they used shrimp instead of mung bean paste. The steamed tapioca/rice cake base was also topped with fried pork rinds and fried shallots (tasted like smoky onipn rings). The combination of all the texture and taste was well balanced. I liked that the pate was warmed up with the rest of the dish, and the beef cubes were well seasoned, but they could have been more tender. We also got the fried chicken wings in garlic fish sauce. The flavor on the outside was great, but the breading was a bit dense and the inside needed more flavor. The service was great and they checked on us several times. The broth made a good first impression and clearly included many of the right spices, although it was also quite salty. As I got further into the bowl, however, the flavor started to feel flat and lacked the rich, slow-simmered depth I expect from a restaurant that specializes in this dish. It tasted more heavily seasoned than deeply developed, so experienced bún bò Huế fans may find it underwhelming. The meat was also not as tender as I would have liked, and the congealed blood--usually my favorite part--was overcooked and dry rather than smooth and tender. The visible holes suggested it may have been cooked too quickly at too high a temperature.
