The sandwiches just feel much more lighter in weight nowadays compared to other heavy weight banh mi places, so not sure if it's because they customized the bread ingredients, but you certainly don't get as much filling inside, especially with the vegetarian banh mi sandwich. I ordered the grilled chicken, grilled beef, and meatball banh mi sandwiches too. The flavors and tastes feel much lighter than most. Other than that, the baguette breads are still nice and fluffy, crunchy, and soft to bite into. I ordered with credit card at kiosk. You can order over the counter or scan a QR code to place your order too. It took at least 20 minutes to get the order since the morning line was longer than expected. Expect to wait 20-40 minutes at times when busy inside. Staffs didn't call out my order number until I asked for my order. I watched for a good 3 minutes. They get busy that they easily forget to call out all the order numbers, so double check if needed. Y-Linh Sandwiches is still a good convenient stop though. Sandwich prices are around $8.50-$8.75 each now. Environment is still busy with lots of morning customers. I came in this morning to try Y-Linh Banh Mi sandwiches. I ordered the Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork and a Jasmine Milk Tea. Both sandwiches were delicious! Great flavor on both! What I really love is the texture of the Vietnamese baguette! It is soft, yet has that wonderful crackly crust. The sandwich is also very filling! The jasmine milk tea was also very enjoyable and refreshing! It was an excellent experience for my first visit! I used the kiosk to make my order. The only issue I had was that I did not receive a receipt! So I had no proof of my purchase which was a little worrisome. In the end, I did receive my order, but I still wish they gave receipts for kiosk orders. Most of the customers avoided the kiosk and went to the cashier. Love the crunch on these sandwiches! Easily the best banh mi I've had. The place is in a plaza that has seen better days. There's also nowhere to eat inside. Even though they accept cards, there's a surcharge for credit cards, and not debit cards. This is not obvious and the fee isn't charged until you tap your card and realize the total just went up without you explicitly agreeing. The cashier nor the manager were able to immediately reverse it. They also gave me the wrong order. Check your sandwiches and bag. I unwrapped it inside the bag and noticed. Our favorite is the roasted pork banh mi (thit heo quay) which we order in large quantities to eat both immediately and over the next few days. This is located in a large shopping plaza near Ocean Market, Omega Restaurant, etc. There is PLENTY of parking, though, maybe at peak hours the closer spots are taken. When you walk in, you notice that its very spacious and has new-ish decor. They offer other items as well like pate chaud, fresh springrolls, pork floss, Vietnamese fruit & coffee drinks, etc. I was here for their sandwiches! I'm French and I gotta tell ya their baguette bread is sooo much better than the French ones I know- theirs is crunchy and breaks when you bite down on it (vs chewing you bite off). Food- 5/5 I had their vegetarian banh mi. The bread was fantastic. You can tell it's fresh off the oven. It's not often you get a bread that's so flaky and crunchy yet soft texture at the same time. The filling was great too. Very generous portion and I like how I can bite into the shredded tofu (unlike some other stores where the shredded tofu was so thin and overfried/hard. Filling consist of the usual pickled daikon, carrots, tofu, jalapeño. I had their Vietnamese coffee too. Asked for less sweet/condensed milk and it came out with the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness from the caffeine. Love it. Service - need to wait a little bit longer which I don't mind waiting considering the freshness of the bread. Ambiance - clean and very well organized store with ample space to spread out while waiting for our order. They had everything from fish cake banh mis, to meat ball, to cold cut combos. The baguette of the sandwich was an absolute delight. Crispy and toasty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I could actually eat the bread forever. The sandwich was loaded with meat. There's an any tables to seat, I saw few chairs along the wall, but was already occupied. Got roasted pork sandwich and it was good, perfect crunch. Vietnamese yogurt is good too. I've been going here as my go to spot for Milpitas Vietnamese Sandwich & coffee. I have tried their grilled pork and combination sandwich. I like the combination a lot which I highly recommend. I was familiar with the area, the busy intersection and the not so easy parking area (the mix of people, cars, carts). Ive seen this spot change food genres over the years. Inside was simple, clean and they made the space work for them. The sandwiches are on the smaller side and a bit pricier compared to Duc Huong and other banh mi places we've been to. I arrived in the afternoon and there was no line. The restaraunt had great service as I was in and out within minutes. I grabbed the grilled pork banh mi along with their Vietnamese coffee. The pork banh mi flavor offered a great flavor profile with a crunchiness to every bite. The only negative I found was the size of the banh mi as I wished the portion was bigger. New viet sandwich shop just open. This spot was a bakery / sandwich shop before. This new shop opened this weekend and the homeless already camping there. This was the problem before when the homeless start to camp there. Customers just was disgusted and stop going to this spot. Wonder how they will handle this problem. My go to is the thịt nguội (combination) which comes with ham and steamed pork. They have a bag of pickled carrots and daikon with cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeño or you can have them add it to your bánh mì upon request. The baguette bread itself is SO good and CRUNCHY, without being too doughy. They don't skimp out on the sauce here. If you love pâté, they give you plenty here. The bread is the star of the show but the thin slices of meat and sauces make it an amazing bánh mì. The bánh mì here tastes light and doesn't make me feel stuffed or bloated afterwards, which is good for a bánh mì.
