I asked why it was still posted on CL if it was sold ( now for several days) and no apology was offered, just "oh, I'll tell so-and-so to take it down" this game has continued for another 10 days! very annoying and sketchy. I assume this is a deceitful ploy to get people to call to be subjected to hi-pressure sales efforts on other bikes. I wont be calling them ever again

I came in and talked to Richard and he is knowledgeable/ honest about the bikes. He isn't pushing you to buy a bike, he just wants to give you all the details to make you feel comfortable in your purchase. Most of these bikes are bought at auctions and then brought to this shop to go through their inspection and then resold. The first bike I bought was a 2006 Honda CBR1000 w/ aftermarket OEM fairings. Had the bike for just little over 60 days when the lower fairing flew off when riding down the freeway. Went back to J&M and said that I don't feel safe on this bike if parts can fly off the bike while riding without any warnings. The shop mechanic Daniel said he is willing to take the bike in on a trade and since they treated me fair I accepted and got a 07 Suzuki GSXR 600. This bike was mechanically and cosmetically sound. I was beyond excited to have the bike and put almost 1000 miles on the bike before another safety incident happened. My clutch cover engine case cracked and the clutch was completely inoperable. By the grace of God, I was only pushing the bike in neutral out of my garage when I heard the crack. I reached back out to the shop mechanic Daniel and he said he'd take a look at it. There was a bolt that wasn't properly loctite glued in place and that's what caused my clutch to give out and case to break. He had a spare cover and bolt in stock and once again came through to help me. After test riding the back and making sure everything was safely operable he gave the bike back to me. He did let me know that this wasn't caught by him nor his team because it isn't apart of their safety inspection. I'll admit when it happened I was highly upset that I had a second safety issue with a bike I bought from them. But Daniel and his team at J&M were empathetic and still made sure that I was taken care of. Overall, I still can firmly recommend J&M Motorsports to anyone. What happened to me with the bikes I got from J&M could have happened to anyone who got their bike elsewhere. Just look at Harley Davidson. They just had a recall on the 2017 bikes they made because the oil line came apart causing people to crash. So the fact that I got a preowned bike from J&M and they still took care of me even after I purchased the bike is what I call excellent customer service.

Throughout it all, I have kept coming back to this shop even though it's a bit of a ways away from me because they have always been honest and straight with the things I needed and didn't, never tried to upsell me, never treated me like a novice asking all sorts of dumb questions (even though I clearly was/am still a newb at cycling), and were perfectly happy to advise against and simultaneously still entertain my ridiculous upgrade requests regardless of whether I bought my parts from them or myself. We booked the bike about a week in advance for a full day for $65, and it was ready for pickup when we arrived. The staff did a safety inspection and let us know that helmets are included with the rental and that we could return the bike to any Sports Basement location. My friend also asked if they could leave their backpack there, and the staff kept it behind the desk, which was really nice. The bike was in good condition! We rode it for 4-5 hours with no issues. A few things I wanted to point out - the seat was pretty narrow and hard, which made it uncomfortable to sit on. It had been a while since I last biked, so I'm not sure if I just need to wear padded shorts or if the seat wasn't the right fit for me. Another thing is that I couldn't sit in the front because the seat was too tall for me to comfortably reach the pedals, and there didn't seem to be an easy way to adjust the height. Lastly, it would've been nice to have a phone mount on the handlebar for navigation. We turned in the bike at the end of the day. Overall, the process was very smooth, the staff were friendly, and the rental was affordable. I would do it again, but I'd wear padded shorts next time :)

We went not completely sure which bike we wanted or the best fit. The staff working was very informative and spent a lot of time explaining options and tradeoffs. I appreciate they didn't just push us to the most expensive options. Rather, they took the time to understand his preferences and use for the bike and then made a few recommendations. They were very patient the entire time, letting him test ride multiple bikes until he found the perfect one. We had such a great experience that we went back to purchase a second bike later that evening!

Unfortunately, my experience yesterday, 09/13/26, was very disappointing. I was shopping with my 6-year-old son. He is on the autism spectrum and has ADHD, so he can be hyperactive and sometimes loud. As his parent, I understand his behavior and always do my best to manage him. However, the sales manager, Scot, repeatedly kept checking on my son and saying "excuse me" to me in a way that came across as rude, annoyed, and unnecessary. I also noticed him giving my son a hard glare. That really bothered me. He is a 6-year-old child, and I don't think a child should be made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable simply because he is energetic or behaves differently. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've been a loyal customer for years and have spent a lot of my hard-earned money at this shop. I've always supported this business because I genuinely enjoyed shopping here and had such positive experiences in the past. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Everyone deserves to be treated with patience and respect, including children with special needs. If my son is not welcome in this store, then I will gladly take my hard-earned money somewhere else. And not that it matters, life and death happened and the bike became less of a priority. Nonetheless, a friend suggested to look for a mobile motorcycle mechanic, and behold Yelp did its magic in putting me in touch with Kyle ( owner & mechanic). Kyle contacted me, we agreed on a day, a time and cost. He came to my home, and did his thing Long story short...because I neglected the bike, it needed new parts etc. And additional trips to the house. But ultimately Kyle got her up and running better than before. Kyle is a cool cat...who is fair in his pricing and does amazing work that's guaranteed. I highly recommend AA Mobile Motorcycle Mechanic. He definitely will be locked in my contacts for any other mechanical needs for my bike.
