Duck Donuts is open! I have had my eye watching as they build out the place. Folks at work love these donuts, but there other location was a bit far for me. As I was driving by and headed to work this morning, there was a red "Open" sign in the window flashing. I just had to turn around and go back to buy a dozen for the office. You go up to the counter to place an order. Each order is custom made. Donuts are not sitting on some tray in a counter that you choose from. They are fresh, warm typical cake style donut. Donuts are not premade. At the order counter, you specify what you want done with your donuts ... what glaze, sprinkles, toppings and such. They even have a bacon topped, maple glazed cake donut! You can select each type of donut dressing or they have some suggested assortments to choose from. I choose the holiday assortment today ... was too much for my morning brain to pick out each donut. The holiday assortment dozen was about $15. The one thing you need to keep in mind is that they are finishing and customizing each order for you. So, it takes longer. If you are in a rush, you will just have to be patient. You can watch them as they make your donuts. Kids have fun watching. Definitely will be back! read more

I drive past this place everyday on my way to work. Today since I'm off work, I said ok let me try these donuts since I heard about them. Now remember ladies and gents that I just completed a 30 day detox last month so I could be nice and fit for my birthday June 14. Well I think I've gained 10 lbs today just eating these delicious treats!!!! I got a half dozen of mixed donuts. Can we say OMG???? Every donut was glazed, caramelized, sugar coated aka everything else that was made to perfection. The texture and quality of the donuts were soft and warm. I was here 12/16/23. I had no idea they made the donuts fresh and was even more excited when I saw the menu. The guy working the counter in the afternoon was awesome too. I thought I'd want to eat it hot but, holy cow, it was a lot sweeter than I expected. When I allowed the Oreo donut to cool off, it was delicious! Maybe because it didn't feel as oily. This is my kids happy place. They have a nice big waiting area which is great cause you don't feel cramped. We love coming here and and watching our donuts get made. They are always hot and fresh. Only lost a star cause they don't seem to travel well. You really need to eat them in the store as the hot donuts and lots of glaze can make the take away donuts extra soft and wet. read more

The employees at the Dublin location were friendly and accommodating even when I needed 3 dozen custom donuts with 25 minutes left until closing. Other customers were there as well and not held up by my large order. As always, the quality of each donut is top notch. Our first visit but definitely not our last. We were greeted as we entered by two helpful young ladies. We told them it was our first time visiting and were directed to a tray of samples. We were glad to try the sample as it gave us a taste of the donut so we knew our creations would be delicious. We ordered A half dozen including mint chocolate, a lemon iced with raspberry drizzle, French toast, cinnamon sugar with caramel glaze, and two maple bacon with caramel glaze. A few things to note 1. They only serve cake donuts 2. They're extremely soft cake donuts 3. They're fried cake donuts I love cake donuts, but I did not think these were good cake donuts. They are not dense enough to eat handheld, which was really disappointing because I got one of the breakfast sandwiches. We also got a regular donut with glaze and drizzle, which was completely soggy, likely due to the cake being so airy. The flavors are decent and if you want a piece of cake, then I think a plain donut, nothing on top, would make a really great piece of yellow cake. read more

This is the third location Duck Donuts has opened and its in the old Starbucks spot. If you have never tried these donuts, now is your time. They make them when you order them, so you are always guaranteed hot and fresh donuts. You cannot go wrong! You can choose from an assortment of flavors and toppings and build your own, or you can pick one of the many options they already have. They have lots of coffee drinks as well. The prices are a bit more steep than other places you may go to, but I can see why. This place is always a contender for when I am having a sweet tooth. You just can't beat fresh donuts! read more

Stopped in to grab a dozen of the Valentines Day donut assortment so surprise my co-workers with. Arrived early - about 7a and was the only customer in the store in addition to 2 employees. I ordered the assortment as shown in the advertisement and began my wait for some hot fresh donuts. If you aren't aware, duck donuts are donuts that make upon order so they are truly hot and fresh when you receive them. They also have an assembly line window where you can watch them work their magic on your donuts. Perfect for anxious kids (and adults that love donuts). Usually in and out the door in about 5-10 minutes, I knew I was in for a wait when she pulled out the example sheet of how to make each donut. Literally time was ticking by and she was in no hurry. I waited nearly 30 minutes for her to finish making my dozen donuts. It was agonizing to watch her struggle with each one. I got the sense she was new but the other employee was not helping which may have helped speed up time. Sadly, by the time the donuts came off the line to me, they were no longer very warm and by the time I made it to the office, they were not warm at all. I'm a big of fan of donuts overall and typically like duck donuts, but had this been my first experience - it would have been my last. read more

Nasty.. Gross! I watched as employees goofed around on cell phones while wearing the same gloves they're preparing donuts. They weren't wearing aprons and you can see where they wiped their hands on their clothes which is gross, the work station for the donuts assembly is filthy, uncovered, and had cross contamination. Finally decided to give Duck Donuts a try. I'm from the PNW, and we don't have made to order donut places there, so this is a new concept to me. I ordered a lemon raspberry, blueberry pancake, and an Oreo one. My hubby ordered three as well. My first takeaway from their donuts is that the glazes and toppings are sweet AF, their cake donuts are a little salty, and you need to eat them right away. The execution could be better. They put all of the donuts in the box, and then put the toppings on them. Because this is the way they do it, you end up with glazes and toppings from other donuts on them. For example, Oreos were stuck to my lemon raspberry donut. They accidentally gave us a donut covered in sprinkles, and they remade the correct donut, but when we got home, there were sprinkles stuck to the side of my Oreo donut, and I am not a fan of sprinkles. I don't think we'll go there again. We both preferred love, peace, and donuts. Their donuts are a mini size, so it's easy to eat them all in one sitting when they're fresh. Today I went into Duck Donuts for the first time - and let me tell you, I am SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED. I walk in (there was only one family in front of me in line) and once it was my turn, try to order two donuts, a latte with soy milk, and a black tea. Pretty simple order - or so I thought. To sum it up: 1. The young associate who took my order didn't know diddly squat about the drinks they sold. Coffee and tea... not difficult. 2. The young associate who took my order charged me $4.75 for a black tea when a large tea is only supposed to be $2.40. 3. After being there for at least 20 minutes I finally got the nerve to ask if my TWO donuts I ordered were coming out soon, and the other young and clearly careless employee said no we don't have your order. They had apparently lost it. Cool. Not only did I leave feeling bitter about having to wait (I was on my lunch break and most of what I ordered was for my BOSS), but I most importantly left feeling like I was not properly taken care of. I have worked in the service industry since I was 16 - I am now 23. In this short 7 years, it has become undeniably clear just how important it is to make customers feel welcome, respected, and well taken care of. I did not get a sense of any of these things at my time at this establishment, and I plan to never return. Some advice ? Train your employees before putting them in the floor. Our first and as far as I'm concerned last experience at duck donuts was not a good one. My wife and I walked in and it was empty except for one couple waiting to order in front of us. It looked like there was only one person working so we waited a good 10 minutes before anyone even came to the register for the people in front of us to order. After they ordered she asked us what we would like and we each ordered milkshakes and were immediately told they weren't doing milkshakes at this time so I asked if we could get frappes and again we're told they weren't doing those either so we ended up leaving without getting anything. Once I spotted this place on a family trip, I knew I had to try it. But I was also feeling cautious... maybe it's just a gimmick. I am pleased to say the donuts are super yum. I think I had forgotten how good a fresh fried cake donut is now that DD and other places just ship them in. Plus the glazes are really good. I decided to mostly stick to fan favs and was not disappointed. My fav was the blueberry with glaze on it. What a fun concept. Saw a previous post and convinced hubby to check it out. He'd like to bring the grandkids next time and I'm up for that! We were greeted as soon as we arrived and a very friendly young man talked us through the ordering process...a glaze, a topping, perhaps a drizzle. He showed us an array of favorites and seasonal selections. I went for a lemon topping with a raspberry drizzle and hubby chose the maple and bacon. We could easily see the hot donuts coming out of the fryer and being decorated as we asked. And they were yummy. I normally am not a fan of cake donuts, I've only had them cold and they always tasted pasty or stale and greasy. However, with these right out of the the fryer, they were so warm and so crispy and oh so gooey...heaven! The aroma of warm donuts filled the air and it was all I could do not to order another. There are about six tables, a place for kids to watch and some really good coffee. It takes a little while for the final product, but it's not that long a wait and everyone was friendly. My friend and I were getting a dozen donuts so we filled out a sheet saying which toppings we wanted on each donut. We were planning on picking up carry out Indian food for dinner at the nearby Bawarchi when someone suggested coming here first to pick up some donuts for dessert. My first time here. You get to choose the base donuts and then can add whatever topping you like and they get made right in front of you and come out fresh and hot! My wife was having a hankering for some doughy goodness and found this place while searching good donut spots. The name alone was enough to intrigue us to take time out of our beautiful Saturday morning to drive here and see what the fuss was all about. The HUGE duck with sunglasses standing outside to greet us was a special bonus and I didnt even mind that the line stretched to the door. The ordering was made rather simple with a form you use to fill out what you would like. We decided to try different kinds and wow. Lemon blueberry was awesome. Coconut lemon was delicious...even the cinnamon sugar was Devine. What made the donuts so special was that they were so fresh and warm. They literally drop the dough into the oil as you order them. This was the best way to enjoy them. While I gave my wife a hard time for using utensils, it didnt take away from her enjoyment of devouring our half dozen. I personally dont mind licking my fingers clean after they get covered with sugary goodness. The experience was excellent and we will gladly be returning for more in the future.
