Their texture is perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! Each order is made fresh, so they are served hot and crispy! You can watch them make the donuts which is fun for kids (and adults), and there are so many different combinations for flavors! You can customize your own or choose one of their delicious and creative flavor combos! The staff were kind and moved quickly! I ordered 6 donuts and all tasted amazing! I also ordered an iced coffee! I'm not sure what brew they get, but it was one of the best iced coffees I've ever had! Duck Donuts is a great addition to Kansas City! My man just got back from an impromptu 6:30 am Saturday morning trip to Duck Donuts for the first time. Honestly, I wasn't in the mood, but once I caught whiff, there was no turning back for me. Came in to order on Sunday. Had at least 9 very young teenagers standing behind the counter standing in groups with their backs turned to the door. While waiting on my order, I saw the kids making donuts with their gloves on and touching their masks and rubbing their nose and not replacing their gloves. This is really gross in general, but especially if you're making my food. I got my money back but the manager tried to justify why it was okay for them to be touching their mask. read more

The donuts here are great tasting and look great and I would come here more often. The problem here is it takes 15 minute minimum to get a dozen when only 1-2 customers are here. I ordered Duck Donuts for our office two days this week (because of their free delivery promo). The first time, the order was exactly correct (14 donuts & a couple coffees), the donuts were surprisingly fresh for delivery, and I was impressed with how fresh the toppings were. Second order, there were two incorrect donuts. I called them up and they took care of it quickly, efficiently & with a smile. I was Very impressed with their customer service and will not hesitate to order from there again. UPDATE - So, I'm editing this from 5 stars to 4 because they said they were going to reimburse the entire amount of the order (which was them going above & beyond), and when I received the reimbursement email, it was only for the two donuts which were incorrect. Which is COMPLETELY fine and well-fixed, but I had already told the people in the office that the order was reimbursed. Now I need to go back to them to say it wasn't and re-collect money. Obviously, still 4 stars, appreciate them taking care of it, but when you say you're going to do A, don't turn around and do B, ESPECIALLY without telling me. I am sad to see in the reviews that the staff is typically so friendly after having the experience I had. I placed an online order today for pickup at 9:15. I arrived and checked in at 9:16 and found out they were backed up because of a broken fryer. No big deal. 9:40 most everyone that was there when I arrived had cleared out so I asked the next person that got their donuts what time their pickup was for..... 9:30. So I approached the counter and asked about my order, the manager (red hair and glasses) says I am doing the best I can as a human being. I explained I just figured the orders would come out in order. 9:55 I finally get my order and say I wasn't trying to be mean but..... she cuts me off and says it's fixed I don't have time for this conversation. I promptly leave. Also they were giving out free donut coupons to everyone for the delay but not me. I am a very understanding person but I will not deal with being treated like that. read more

We went to this Duck' Donuts at 9am on a Saturday and there was one other customer in the store. I was with my kid and we ordered one donut. They told us it would be an hour wait because they had a big order to work on. I asked if they could just make the one donut and they said no. A couple of other customers came in after us and were also turned away. They just had their grand opening last week so maybe they need to work on their processes, but I don't see how you can shut down your store for a large order and not have one person be able to make donuts for the walk-in customers. read more

Donut King in NKC is my favorite Donut shop in KC, but Duck has become my 2nd if not even closer to taking DK's spot. They have a system similar to that of Donutology. Where all the donuts are just your typical cake donuts and you customize it. They do have seasonal offerings as well. I think what makes this so special and better than Donutology is that they are made fresh in front of you (like the donut itself not just the toppings) and they are standard size and not mini. With them being fresh the toppings seem to fuse together with the flavors and the donut absorbs it which makes the taste amazing! The staff were great and really help you understand the process as I was confused at first, but all in all, if I am ever craving and feel like the drive to 95th street or just in the area, it's a must that I go back to Duck Donuts! The donuts are great but the service is terrible. They do not have any menus available on the floor so you have to wait until you get to the counter to see your choices. The register girl told us about how to maker selection as fast as she possibly could so we were completely lost. When I asked her to repeat the information she was put out and surly. Although from the pictures you'd think this place is about the flavors, it's really about the warm, fresh texture. With the powdered sugar ones, it's reminiscent of a beignet. I can't speak to the quality of the food, only the service because we never got our donuts. We waited more than 20 minutes for 2 donuts this morning before having to leave to get my son to school on time. It appeared that they had multiple large orders to fill. All three people preparing donuts were working on the large orders. Might have made sense to have one of the three filling the smaller orders. Really enjoyed these warm donuts!! My only complaint was there was no sign or employee to indicate you needed to fill out an order form before getting to the front of the line.
