I'm not one for submitting negative ratings but after at least 10 similar experiences with this location I felt compelled. We normally order thru the app- not once has the order been ready when we have arrived. In fact- more than 5 of the 10 times they haven't even started the order. A few times I've asked them to scan my rewards card to get points - only to be told that they cannot do it at this location. The people that work at this location seem to be annoyed anytime you ask questions. While the donuts are great- after giving this location more than enough chances (and shame on us for keep trying) we are going to stop ordering. I liked this donut shop because they are made to order and you can customize them. All Donuts start as a vanilla cake and then you pick the toppings. How fun is that! Order was taken at 7:50 am on Saturday 8/11/18. It's early so it wasn't busy at all. There are only 3 tables to sit at which does not suggest coming in and enjoying your food. It appears one should take their food to go. I like that you get to watch them make your doughnut(s). This was our first time and the female offered to answer any questions that we might have, however she struggled with our questions and also with ringing up our order. We ordered 2 breakfast combos. Included is a breakfast sandwich and a regular coffee. Regular coffee does not include the iced coffees, that's a different price. The sandwich had choice of either sausage or bacon, and on an English muffin or a doughnut. It took 2 other associates to figure out how to ring up the order at the correct price. She told us that we couldn't customize the doughnut and that the sandwich was just a plain doughnut. My wife pointed to the menu which showed a picture of a customized doughnut. She then said, "well that would be ok to do" We went to sit down and I don't see any high chairs. We asked and they told us they don't have any. ???? How does a business not have high chairs. ??? The sandwich was difficult to pickup as the doughnut itself was too soft. It tasted pretty good, maybe a little too sweet. It's not something I would choose to eat often. We decided to grab a special treat this morning at our local Duck Donuts. I've been here just two other times before. Going in around 11 o'clock, I was hoping I would avoid the crowd, but that was not the case. I ordered 1/2 dozen assorted donuts at the cashier, and I always just tell them to do an assortment because it takes too long to fill out the form where you can customize each one, and I think holds things up. She seemed pretty relieved with my decision, also. As it was, it was still almost 30 minutes to get my order. I will say, though that these donuts are made on demand, and when you get them fresh, the warm, gooey goodness is decadent. It's about $8 for a 1/2 dozen and $15 for a full dozen. Very small location located in a new shopping center off of Polaris Parkway. Its just funny to me that this shop is next to 2 gyms XD. They cook the donuts fresh in front of you and you choose whatever toppings your want! The price is very good in comparison to chain stores, and the food is better! While I was visiting in the area, my friend and I stopped into Duck Donuts at the recommendation of another friend. They make the donuts in front of you behind a glass counter, and you can either order a donut based on the ideas on their picture menu, or create your own. We ordered two of the "idea" donuts - mine was the chocolate peanut butter. My gosh, this was an excellent donut. It had a great cake flavor to it and the flavor was SO rich. It was a very, very sweet donut with chocolate glaze and peanut butter drizzle. I thought it was nice how the gal working asked me if they "looked okay" before she packaged them up. They looked great (though I wouldn't have known otherwise)! The layout of the store was a tad confusing. People were kind of bunched up everywhere against the line, so no matter where you stood, you felt a bit in the way. My GPS had a little trouble finding this spot, so know if it has directed you to a strip mall plaza, you're in the right place! Now, I can totally understand why they had a line. The result..not bad. 6 donuts will run you $7.50 which is a good price point as I didn't feel it was too expensive for what you're getting. These donuts are good but not the best I've had. There are only two tables, so your chances of getting one is slim. We wanted them to eat them while they were warm, so we found a close park (1 mi.) away and sat and enjoyed the moment. This establiahment is finally open past 6pm, which was great for us. We had promised to take our daughter back in April for her birthday, but they weren't open. Not going to lie, the ordering is daunting. There is just so much to choose from....it's hard to make a decision. I decided to kust go with half a dozen and kept it a bit simple. I wanted to try another Duck Donuts location, as the first one made me curious if all Duck Donuts donuts tasted a bit underdone, so I hit up this location. Per usual, this is a made fresh/customize your donut locale and I say that I hope this chain continues to grow, as I would love to know I can get a fresh donut when I wanted one. I ordered six donuts of varying combinations and, one thing I will say, the donuts they advertise on their menus don't 100% look like what you get. My strawberry/lemon drizzle looked almost transparent compared to the thick glazed donut they have on their suggestion sheet. I wasn't impressed with getting a maple bacon, but the flavor of the donut doesn't lend its flavors like other some other donut places do. First heard of Duck Donuts when vacationing in Williamsburg, Virginia. Although we never made it to Duck Donuts there, I just discovered there was one in Westerville! Had to check it out today, which happens to be National Donut Day! OMG they have an assembly line that you can watch the staff make the dough then put the toppings on. There must be over 25 toppings! If you are hoping to recreate the OBX donut experience in CBus you won't be disappointed. About the only negative is that you can't feel the salt from the beach in the air outside. Warm donuts made to your topping order. What more can you ask for. My husband got the seasonal Key Lime. This was his first ever Duck Donuts experience. He said the key lime flavor was a bit lacking in the icing but also said the donut itself is so good it doesn't need toppings! I stuck to my regular chocolate icing with coconut on top. It's everything I hoped it would be and more. The aesthetic struck me as kitschy in the best way, oddly mid-century Americana, possibly because I remember hilarious children's books with donut making machines as plot devices. Possibly because there's something genuinely fascinating about a conveyor belt carrying out countless identical gorgeous donuts awaiting a panoply of glazes and toppings. It's very much of the now, of course, in its actual menu. The donuts are poems to excess. You can get a glaze (such as maple) a topping (such as Oreo chunks) and a drizzle (such as chocolate) all on the same 4x4 inch chunk of delicious fried vanilla cake donut. In case you were suffering a dangerous blood glucose deficit. There is nothing ugly about this unless you make it ugly, and I encourage you to try it. I had the glazed + Oreo (no drizzle) and the maple + bacon (also nondrizzled), as pictured here, and they were fantastic. My seventy year old father said these were the best donuts he'd ever had. The coffee was good (better than Dublin or Tim Hortons, yes). My other half LOVES crazy donuts and always finds all the weird donut places. We've been here three times recently. Every time we've been here, there has been a very long wait. I know most people think "These must be great donuts if people are lining up like this"....But I see a long line and I think "Nope" but the bf HAD to have these donuts so we waited. The donuts are served warm. The possibilities for toppings are almost endless. I still didn't LOVE any donut I tried from there. I like a classic plain chocolate glazed donut. Ordered one here and the chocolate glaze alone almost made me sad. It was weak and slightly liquidy. (It does melt some on the warm donut but still).
