I tried both the Promised Land Latte (cinnamon and honey) and the seasonal special Cowboy Cold Brew (cold brew with milk and sarsaparilla syrup). The Promised Land Latte was good, not too sweet, a little thin on the mouthfeel but overall good flavor. The Cowboy Cold Brew was such a treat: a combination I have never tried, but it worked surprisingly well. It was like a root beer and a cold brew were mixed together for a refreshing drink with very familiar yet unique flavor. It was also such a treat when I turned the cup around and saw the "yeehaw" written on it :-) I also tried the everything bagel with honey brie walnut cream cheese, and whoever is supplying Cleveland with these specialty cream cheeses knows what they're doing! I enjoyed the honey brie walnut cream cheese so much that I made a third trip to this location, just to get a side of it to put it on extra pita I had laying around. What also makes this location special is the location! I enjoyed my latte inside the Arcade, and the beautiful architecture and interior design were so incredible. I typically go to the Rising Star in the Colonial Arcade, proximity to work and all, but the weekends lead to Ohio City where the sunlight poors in, the baristas are busy taking orders, making spectacular concoctions and working the ever growing line. I'm partial to a chai, whole milk extra hot with cardamom to punch it up, it's perfect every time. I love that the green and go fridge is always stocked and that they have local bagels and Jeff's Candy! Parking is a premium so be ready to walk the neighborhood on a busy weekend.

It started off tasting almost like cereal milk, then finished with this bright, wonderful punch of orange. It was so good, and I'm already sad knowing it won't be around forever. The shop itself is super cute, one of those coffee spots where people clearly come to get work done. At 8:30 on a cold Wednesday in January it was the quietest I've ever seen it, with just a few people sitting and others dropping in to pick up to go orders. My husband and I ordered a black coffee, a cortado and a breakfast burrito to split. Points for serving the drinks in real cups for dine-in orders. The burrito is pricey - $16 - but is made to be split between two people. We tried to imagine finishing the whole thing on our own and couldn't, even as the ambitious eaters we are. It comes with a choice of chorizo, bacon or mushrooms and two side sauces, an aioli and a salsa verde. It was greasy and one of the messier things I've eaten in the morning but delicious. I will return to try the breakfast sandwich and the lox panini. I appreciate that they also have a limited bar - love a place you can transition from work day to working happy hour on a Friday afternoon. Another experience worth mentioning: I came in here solo on a busy afternoon once and ordered an iced chai. As I sat down, the woman who made it came out and said "I didn't make the chai concentrate (or whatever it's called) today and it does not look good to me. They also have empanadas and a few other pastries that are a great snack to have with your coffee. Service is generally very quick and even though I usually take my coffee to go, there are a few tables, as well as stools along a countertop that you can sit at to enjoy your coffee. Parking is fairly easy (free street parking) as the street the cafe is located on is not busy. There are tables and chairs for working plus two big sofas by a fire place for sitting. FOOD/DRINKS -- I ordered a hot chocolate during my November 2025 visit. It's really rich and tastes good. I'm so glad she did, because it was delicious. It tasted like an actual PB&J sandwich, but still had a coffee-forward overall flavor; very hard to put into words, but definitely a winner. They use real peanut butter as part of the latte, along with two shots of espresso that had me bouncing off the walls later. If you're looking for a neighborhood coffee shop vibe and unique drinks, definitely come here!
