I do not understand why people don't talk enough about this place, or they just talk negative. I've been three years now (from California) and I could've never dreamt of getting an Udon-Sushi combo for $7.95 or a Bento Box for the same prior. Know this is college campus food--quick, cheap, fast, did I say cheap? Most traditional rolls are $3.50 - $5.50 and fusion rolls are $7-8. You cannot get cheap rolls like that even from the store. The soups and the bento boxes are my favorite--large too, especially for how much you pay. I am sorry if someone got food poisoning (flu maybe?) I never had and have come here 20 more times than that person did. Anyways, don't expect Yoshi's (in Oakland) status, but for what it is its a lovely little restaurant to visit on the far side of campus. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. It was just about 10:30 pm on a Monday. My friend and I walked in and asked if they were still open . Only carry out orders says a male. As we proceed to look at their menu we have a young lady behind the counter telling my friend and I we have 5 mins to order. I said "excuse me" she looks at me and says you got hurry up. My wife and I decided to try a new place to eat and chose this place. We really like bubble tea and we were really exited to try it out for here. After we ordered and payed for our meal, we sat and waited for our food. It took a while to get our food and it all started coming out one at a time with long breaks in between. On my order of Sushi I had a hair on it and I had them remake my sushi. Our bubble tea came out half way during our dinner one at a time. My wife went shake her bubble tea up and to her surprise it was not sealed all the way. My bubble tea came after that and had hardly any boba in it. So let me start by actually saying that these guys make amazing sushi. It is also a lot less expensive than pretty much everywhere else in town and it's really, really good. The reason I'm rating this at two star is because of the way that the kid working behind the counter treated my boyfriend. Myself, boyfriend and a couple other folks live across town and I decided to order carry out. I called and ordered seven rolls, which I didn't think was an unreasonable number. The kid who took my order said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. We sent my boyfriend to pick up the order and pay for it. He arrived and was the only one in the restaurant. He told the cashier that he was getting a large order, to which the cashier condescendingly replied "oh, you're the one." He continued to hassle my boyfriend, not in a joking way, but in a really indignant-bratty-college-kid-way. "You couldn't just order the easy rolls either, you had to order the hard ones." He repeatedly commented about the size of the order, which apparently was so grossly outside of the normal amount of food ordered by a group. My boyfriend said that the order was for a few people, the cashier replied "only a few! This could easily feed six people!" I find it kind of baffling that someone who is working, presumably with a tip incentive would be so rude to someone just for placing an order. Neither myself nor my boyfriend were rude, demanding or difficult and the restaurant was empty when he arrived. It's also not like we placed this order within minutes of closing either, it was 7:40 pm when I ordered and they close at 10. Like I said at the beginning, I really like the sushi here, but the bratty kid behind the counter is super offputting. If I'm going to spend money at a business, I kind of expect not to be rigorously food shamed in the process. You know, cause' human decency and all. read more

I ordered the ramen and roll combo, and additionally had a spicy salmon handroll. So, the bimbap roll was typical Korean roll. The hand roll was a little mushy for my liking. Ugh, really odd place. Upon entry, a pungent smell of stale wet towel greets you in the face. It looks like a frozen yogurt place that also serves hot food, which is kind of strange to me. Getting pretty sick and tired of seeing all these places around town trying to make poke their way when it's something that Hawaiians have made for ages. Ordered tuna poke bowl and a salmon hand roll. Prices are average, not expensive, not cheap, probably a little less than other places. Was promptly notified that my order was ready. Had to go up to the counter to get it. Asked for extra ginger and got some at no extra charge. Included was a small bowl of piping hot miso soup. The hand roll was delicious, and the salmon in it went from the top to all the way down to the bottom of the roll, a welcome surprise. The tuna poke bowl was OK with a reasonable portion of tuna. The rice was a little heavy with minimal seasoning. When done, you bus your own tray. All in all, not bad, in fact reasonably good, and a good value for the price. I'll be going back. read more

The three star rating for this restaurant is accurate - the interior of the restaurant kinda looks like a frozen yogurt place which is cool. Not many tables but from my experience, it's never crowded and you'll always find a table. Take out seems to be the most common with Duck Sushi. I personally would not recommend ordering for delivery, as there is a huge difference in portion. Food is decent, convenient, and comes pretty fast. We wandered into this place, unsure of what to expect given the fact that it was obvious it had recently been a fro-yo place and some of the fixtures/ads were still in place. What we found was pretty delightful. A very diverse menu with hard-to-belive prices for rolls and hand rolls. Three hand rolls for $7 is ridiculously cheap, but they were fresh, well made and tasty. Our bubble teas were made correctly and delicious. Service was more than friendly. When I expressed some difficulty in deciding between two options, the cashier/clerk/server engaged me in a thoughtful pros and cons discussion and ended up suggesting the less expensive option -- that's class. If I lived closer, I'd be back to see if their wings and bulgogi and bibimbap are as good as the sushi was. read more

I have been here a few times. The sushi I have tried was good. It is fairly cheap in price, but still decent quality. The things they have they do good, however they do not have as large of a selection of sushi as places that do only sushi. They had lots of other Asian foods that just did not seem to work with the menu. Then they had frozen yogurt and toppings by weight. I do not know why people seem to think this is the in thing right now. Frozen yogurt is disgusting and does not go well with sushi. If they wanted to improve this place, I would suggest they get more sushi on the menu and scrap the frozen yogurt, its not working. read more

Ordered take-out yesterday to surpise my twins for their birthday. I'm glad to report that it got 2 thumbs-up from everone! Not quite top-shelf like Izumi or Sushi Domo (hence the 4-stars), but just as good as, if not better than, a few other places such as Sushi Station and definitely better than 541 Sushi or Sushi Island.
