First time eating here from my list of places to try. There is only one table to dine in and it seats five. I think this place used to be Shrimp Hut back in the day. They have a pretty extensive menu in my opinion for such a small place. I didn't pull in until almost 1pm so I must have missed the lunch rush. I ordered a Fried Shrimp Po-Boy which comes with fries. The shrimp were huge (see photo). How he fit eight of those shrimp on that sandwich I'll never know. The po-boy was excellent and I got more fries than I could ever eat. Service was great. He said give him 10 minutes but my order was ready before that. The man was super helpful and friendly. There are nine parking places beside the building which are the closest to the front door. If those are full, there is a Home Depot parking lot just a few steps away. read more

I have been wanting to try this place since they opened but it's not close to me and even when I'm on this side of town I forget to stop by. I'm so glad I remembered today cause HONEY! Ducketts did not disappoint. I decided to try the seafood fry. I wasn't sure what all came on it but I knew from pictures it looked absolutely delicious. Well it tasted better than it looked and was loaded with shrimp grilled onions cheese sausage and crab meat. Seasoned perfectly. I shared with a friend and it was more than enough for the both of us. It comes with one snow crab cluster and two sides. You can choose corn, potatoes, mac and cheese, or green beans. Also comes with an egg that you can choose the style of: over hard, over medium, over easy, or scrambled (never seen this before, but hey! Choices are always nice!). Container had a foil inside and was stapled down. There was a little sauce in the bag, but not bad! Giving 4/5 because the napkins and fork was soaked from the bit of sauce that spilled. These could come in a separate sealed bag. Definitely ordering again, though. read more

I ordered through Doordash since I was craving some crab legs. Unfortunately, they showed up with most of the sauce in the bottom of the bag. There was still plenty of flavor though! While crab legs are my favorite, I really enjoyed the corn and potatoes as well. I was able to taste what I assume was lemon and it was very delicious! I'm not eating meat currently so I didn't try the sausage but it looked good! I also ordered a side of mac and cheese and holy cow--it's a HUGE portion! It wasn't quite what I expected but it was still very good. I would definitely check this place out for yourself! read more

i ordered a perch dinner and eight pieces of perch. it was supposed to be lightly fried and it was so hard most of it wasn't edible. Let me tell you!! The food was GREAT. I ordered the Catfish steaks, and the seasoning they use is something that I've never had before! It was so good, had a slight lemony taste to it a little bit. Ordered online so I cannot speak to anything except the food. Boy was I surprised! I had the shrimp po boy and the seafood gumbo...best I've had outside of New Orleans and my own home. The po boy was stuffed with jumbo succulent shrimp. And the Gumbo was full of all the right ingredients. They didn't skimp on anything. Sooo good. I highly recommend. I'm always open to trying new restaurants, and while visiting family in Indy I challenged them to try something different. We placed a large order, pretty much sampling the whole menu. We were unimpressed, the food lacked in some many ways. The seafood platters were over seasoned, way over seasoned. The corn tasted old, the catfish dinners were burnt, the seafood nachos looked delicious but again lacked!!! Terrible Food and Customer Service! I purchased 2 Perch Meals to the tune of $17.74. The meal tasted as if it had been reheated. Soggy fries and fish. I contacted the establishment was informed that I should give this establishment another chance. Not once was I offered and apology nor a meal replacement nor a refund. Instead, I was told to give them another chance as that they are an African American establishment. I inquired, "So I should spend another $18 and hope for the best?" To which I received the following reply, "I'll pray for you!" This was followed by a disconnect. Word to the owner: I have done business with several African American establishments that provided exemplary products and services. Sadly, I have also encountered countless other African American establishments in which the business hid behind the shield of African Americans not giving the establishment another chance solely because of the ethnicity of the owner! This shield will inevitably fail to protect as that I feel no obligation to support any establishment with this type of extraordinarily poor customer service. As an African American, I am not under any obligation to support Ducketts Seafood because of the owners ethnicity. This business will fail soon! It will not be due to a lack of support by its community members but due to a poor business ethic! read more

Service was quick, the person who took our phone order was friendly and informative. Food was good, plentiful, and affordable. We had the grilled shrimp poboy, the catfish poboy (both served with fries), and the gumbo. The gumbo was my favorite part of the meal, highly recommend this item. read more

Tried this place for the first time last Wednesday arriving around 6pm. It's a black owned business so I was happy to spend my money here.No crowd no line just one other person waiting on their order. I decided on the attaboy platter which comes with shrimp, snow crab legs, 1 lobster tail split in half as well as corn, sausage, and potatoes. I asked if the spice could be altered to spicy however the lady at the counter told me they don't do spice levels. A little disappointed I decided to give it a try anyway. Everything was cooked well however it seemed to still be lacking flavor in my opinion. All I could taste mainly was the butter at the bottom of the pan very minimal old bay seasoning and maybe a hint of lemon. We ended up adding our on spices and seasonings to give it more flavor. The shrimp was cooked in the shell as well which we didn't care for because it couldn't get any seasoning so it was bland after peeling it. Over all the prices and preparation of the food was good and the staff was friendly I would suggest peeling shrimp and getting creative with spices/seasonings for guests who enjoy a little kick on their seafood. I may give them another try if I'm really craving seafood. If you're don't care too much about spice then I recommend this place. They also have fried food options as well outside their boils so that may be something I try next time. read more
