Full 5th Style Wings
Abigail W.

We were in town for a few days on business and found 5th Avenue when it was time to grab a bite. It was so good, we ended up coming back a second time before we left! Service was quick and easy, and the environment was great--you can tell this place matters to the community. They host events and special nights, which adds to the welcoming, local vibe. We tried the bacon jam burger, smoked wings, and Italian beef--all excellent. Flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, a convenient location with street parking, and a wide selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Definitely a spot we'd recommend and return to next time we're in the area!

Good spot for wings. On Sunday, they have $1 wing special. We like to get them 5th ave style and Dr. pepper flavor. They are good and crispy with great flavor. This place is kid friendly. They have separate dining area and bar. They host events like poker games. Bartenders are friendly, and my husband loves going here because they carry mango cart on tap. They have lots of liquor choices. The bar has several TVs around, so good spot to catch a game. They have a small parking lot, but also have street parking nearby.

Popped in here on a Friday night, and they were packed. Server came and greeted us, and got a table cleaned up quickly for us. Place was pretty loud, but too be expected on a Friday night. Waitress was on it throughout the night. Vodka lemonade was strong as a single. Breadsticks with cheese were mid- nothing to write home about but not bad. I had the tenderloin, fries, and coleslaw for my meal. The tenderloin was well seasoned- I would have appreciated it being cooked for a little bit longer- there were a couple spots that were mushy from the breading. The fries were well seasoned. I liked the coleslaw- it was a vinegar based and something a little different than most places offer. Will definitely return to try some other things on the menu.

Spicy cheese balls w/ jalapeño ranch

My wife got the soup flight for $12 (on Saturday) it came with chili, French onion soup, and loaded baked potato soup. She loves the chili. She said it was Hearty and rich even though she "likes it midwestern style" & prefers it with noodles it was so good. The French onion was #1 though. Then the baked potato soup was #3 it was thick and good just not many potato's. The pizza was good and the jalapeño ranch we got with our cheese balls was amazing 10/10. HUGE FAN that they have strawberry blonde beer so and they're $6 pints on Saturday. Which beats other places bar none. Service was GREAT she was busy but still attentive. The bands about to start up. It's going to be a good night.

5th street grill and bar is a family friendly scratch kitchen. They offer daily food specials and a full, specialty menu. The service can be hit or miss which, especially if you choose to sit on the patio. The food is decent and the beer is ice cold. I've been several times and will continue to stop by.

Food is always excellent and service is top notch. They are always prompt and polite. I've been for lunch and after work drinks, however never for dinner. The windows open up and make it a great open air space with the sun coming in. They have live music most weekends. They also have e a Bloomington staple, Ruby Bloom Ale on tap.

The food was really good. I had the steak sandwich and, usually I can't finish all my food, but I ate the entire thing. My mom had a tenderloin sandwich and my brother had a burger, which they both loved. Their website says "come for the food, stay for the fun". We didn't stay for the fun but we did enjoy the food. Our server was friendly but she forgot about us so we had to flag her down. She apologized because she was the bartender and not used to waiting tables. My only issue was that the floors were sticky and everyone's shoes were sticking as they walked around and it was driving me nuts. We were there late afternoon and it seemed like they had a good number of regulars. They have a stage for live music and lots of activity nights on their Facebook page. I love Beech Grove because parking is always super easy on the street and it's free.

Double mushroom pizza, with no mushrooms and TONS of onions $26 pizza!!!

Wings are amazing, get the traditional with Nashville style! Service amazing and the food is good. I would not advise pizza or take out. Ordered double mushroom (and paid for double) and some pieces had no mushroom but every piece had an insane amount of onion. The tavern style is paper cracker thin and like dominos but not as greasy or flavorful. I wouldn't suggest it. Prices are that of a fancy pizza joint but is definitely bar quality. Lesson learned. Also sad veggie selection, no pineapple or tomatoes etc. Wings did not come with celery but do if you order in, that's one of my favorite things so it's weird to pay the same but not get the same thing.

Met up with some family members for brunch/lunch. We had to try their Bloody Mary! And we had to get a beer chaser, so we got a couple Pabsts. The Bloody Mary was so flavorful! The food was cooked to perfection. The onion rings were crispy, and the burger was juicy. The service was fast and friendly. The moment we realized we needed something, our waitress was already bringing it to us!

Bloody & a PBR
Eddie C.

Stopped in with the family on Sunday to try this local bar with great food and service. Had to try their Bloody Mary with a PBR. Great flavor! They definitely know how to mix a good bloody. The food was all cooked perfectly and came out hot. Several choices of wing sauce to be tossed in. I chose the buffalo garlic, delicious. The service was good for a busy lunch time. Definitely stop in and give this place a try!

Then we weren't told that there's a charge for refills of unsweetened tea and she kept offering them and never said anything nor is there a notice on the sign/menu It's not until you get the bill and ask about the extra charge are you informed. There's also a fee for using a card that you don't know about if you pay at your table. All of that being said I can see why people just do carry out here. We ordered the bacon French bread. It wasn't overcooked and crunchy. Had a nice flavor. Dipping cups are very small and you do have to pay for any additional dipping sauces which is fine but based on the size of the cups I could see that being a problem for some The pizza was really good. The dough was light and airy. The pizza bbq sauce combo paired perfectly with the pineapple ham and bacon. Pizza seemed to come out pretty quickly. A medium was the perfect size for us. This place has potential and is in a prime location on Main Street with plenty of street parking. If we give them another try it'll be for carry out. I was torn between rating this a 3 or 4 star.

I had to actually walk up to the bar in the Tavern to pay for my pie. You will find it on the side of the Tavern, near the back. It has a decent sized parking lot, but the spots were pretty much all taken up with Tavern patrons while I was there. They have outdoor patio seating available and you could probably also eat in the Tavern's indoor dining area if you wanted. They have a very compact menu consisting of a few signature pies or you can build your own with their toppings. You can get either a 10", 12" or 16" (they have a 6" option if you make your own. It is not available for signature pies.), you call it. I ordered the Death by Scorpion Sauce 10" pie. I got the scorpion sauce on the side because I did not know what to expect. The pie was ready in about 10 minutes. It was hot, fresh and delicious. It had a little kick to it, like I like. But it was not overly spicy to the point that you could not enjoy it. I really liked it. It was hard making it home without digging in, with it smelling all good and stuff on my passenger seat. In addition to my scorpion sauce on the side, the guy threw in some parmesan cheese and peppers packets. I will be the first to admit that this place looks like a hole in the wall when you are approaching it. However, they make a good pie. I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem. I am sure that you won't be disappointed.

After checking online to…read moresee the menu we ordered is phone for take out and was given a 15 minute wait time which was super quick! Once we arrived the pizza was being pulled out of the oven and was piping hot and smelled delicious. We ordered a 16 inch Katie Bug Pie which had veggies and a veggie patty. We asked for light cheese but might not have been heard as if this is light then regular cheese must be an abundance. Next time we would probably choose no cheese just to taste the veggies more fully. The dough was a nice flavor with lots of veggie toppings and plenty of sauce. It was a round pie which allowed for big slices and two were plenty for each my husband and I which means they were full of flavor and veggies. My only slight thought would be it is a tad salty fir me, perhaps the veggie Patty or sauce had more salt than I like but it was still delicious. I can't speak to their other options but from our first try it was a worthy spot for a take away pizza. Plus they have a cat that comes for petting and ha going out in the courtyard and who doesn't love a snuggle after pizza? Definitely worth trying out!

What we enjoyed most about Hotbox was that there was ZERO nonsense (similar to Hungry Howie's) when ordering online, pickup, and payment. Absolutely no consideration for a paying customer. Not only was that horrible customer service, it upset her on her birthday and we had a house full of hungry family ( 5 of whom are kids age 12-2, who were very hungry and cranky) She supposedly will get a refund, she is a first responder as well, who helps this community and this happens.
