My husband contacted Duct Guys to have our ducts cleaned 2 days ago. Unfortunately, the service was completed very unprofessionally and I'm pretty upset with the end results. Dust and dirt was left in all of the areas where the ceiling vents were cleaned. Our dryer duct was completely crushed by the techs which causes a significant fire hazard. I know for a fact it wasn't crushed before they arrived because I specifically had sears come back and reinstall my dryer ducts after they installed it incorrectly the first go round. Initially they crushed it as well so I'm very particular about it. Also our ceiling vents were left half screwed in causing danger for myself and my family. I have a one year old baby. If one should fall it could of potentially hit him. Vent orientation was not taken into account leaving my husband to get the ladder out and reinstall them. We chose the Duct Guys because of their great reviews. Unfortunately we cannot add to their great legacy of reviews. My husband was left with a lot of rework and cleaning. I am glad my husband checked the service but disappointed he did so after he paid. Do yourself a favor and always double check the service before paying. We now have to also go buy a new dryer duct. I'm extremely disappointed after paying over $200 to have to spend additional money fixing areas left broken by Duct Guys techs. read more

They came on Friday to clean all of our vents and dryer vent. It had been awhile so I knew they would be a mess. They were on time and so polite. They were efficient, detailed and kept us informed the entire time. They cleaned everything up when they were done. Their service rates were very reasonable. We will be using them again. I had some work done by Northwest Natural Gas. When it came time to turn the gas back on they discovered a hole in my roof vent pipe from the furnace. NWNG told me they could not turn the gas back on until the hole was repaired. In comes Duct Guys. They found the hole but did not have the materials to fix it. So they put a piece of tape over it. Said they would be back with PVC pipe to fix it. That was Friday. Today is Monday. Still no show. After putting the tape over the hole they turned the gas back on but could not get the furnace to fire. They said I needed to call a furnace repairman. I did. They showed up today and after some time discovered the gas was NOT turned on after all. I was charged 109 dollars for an unneeded service call. They also informed me that Duct Guys are not authorized to turn the gas back on. Only NWNG can turn it back on. They were providing a service they were not allowed to do and would have made me liable for any mishap this would have caused. Now I have to have a real repair company come out and do the repairs. Only after that can NWNG can be called to restore the gas. All this to say that the Duct Guys caused me 3 days without heat, lost time for repeated service calls and a bunch of money I really can't spare. I do not recommend this company for your last choice in a repair service. In response to their response. They are not being truthful. My review is point on and accurate. These guys are terrible. I selected just one star because this site requires that at least a single star be selected to submit a review. Duct Guys deserves less than one star. We were referred to The Duct Guys by an hvac company which had done work at our home but had no availability to come back out to inspect our heating ducts. So, we called The Duct Guys, described what we needed and scheduled an appointment for August 25, 2021. In the meantime, we returned to our second home in California. On August 23, we flew back to Portland for the ductwork inspection on August 25. When "Kevin" - apparently the owner - and his assistant arrived, they were wearing masks. Since my wife and I are vaccinated, I intended to tell him that, if they are likewise vaccinated they didn't need to wear their masks in our home. So, I asked, "Are you vaccinated?" Kevin said, "We don't disclose our vaccination status at our company." That surprised me and irritated me that, with COVID running rampant here's a crew going into peoples homes and refusing to say whether they're vaccinated, but I decided not to argue about it and said, "Ok, I'll take that to mean you're not so you'll need to wear your masks while you're in the house." Kevin immediately got belligerent and said, "Well, since that's an issue for you, we're not coming in." He and his assistant then turned around and, without another word got back in their truck and drove away. I don't care how good "Kevin" is at inspecting a heating duct, he apparently doesn't care about COVID. Many of us are assuming that, with COVID ravaging our communities, the companies we hire to conduct work in our homes are vaccinated in order to assure that we and their employees are safe. That's an unwise assumption because there are still guys out there like "Kevin" and The Duct Guys who plainly couldn't care less. read more

We were preparing for new tenants at our rental so wanted the ducts cleaned again. First Call Heating recommended Duct Guys since they were backed-up so I had the pleasure of meeting the owners on their initial visit. I knew there were issues with rats and they confirmed that. They accommodated my appt. request before new tenants occupied the home which I really appreciate! The crew arrived as scheduled and their inspection revealed that the ducts were in quite bad shape from the rats and from old age so I was quoted a very fair price to replace all the ductwork. They immediately got materials and were done by 5PM that very day! They did clean the existing return air duct and it was filthy so now the whole house is fresh and clean. I was concerned a duct had come loose/separated in our crawl space. Kevin and his helper Red came to our house on time, crawled under the house and checked the ductwork. They found that everything was as it should be and recommended having an energy consultant take an overall look at our house and vac system.
