Portland is only truly hot, maybe 3 months out of the year. This is what we kept thinking of when debating installing AC into our central air. Well, we finally did it and we have no regrets. The last three years have proven to continuously get hotter and hotter. The install came just in time for my third child to be born, because there is nothing fun about a house full of adults, toddlers and babies, cranky from being uncomfortably hot. We had 2 other companies come out for quotes. The first one had great reviews but their quote was almost double the others and their estimators made me feel like they were trying to take advantage of a single female (I was home alone). Their whole demeanor changed once my husband got home, which is so infuriating to still experience from some companies. The second company didn't give me confidence, as communication was dropped a few times. When my husband found this place, we were thrilled because the pricing was fair and the customer service was top notch. We got a great deal on the unit and the install was quick! The guys worked really hard and even put back everything in our garage that had to be taken out to access the corner. We couldn't be happier with how this experience was. The true test then, was if the AC could keep our house cool. Well folks, it's been a year and we give it two thumbs up! Remember that heat dome last summer? Yeah, we do too. It was a full time job to keep our outdoor chickens and garden alive. I finally caved and set up a tent in our garage, where our chickens stayed cool as a snowflake. Our split A/C heating unit was dripping water. We called Century Heating & A/C as they were a recommended company by Fujitsu as a certified fixer. The receptionist was at he kindest and most efficient, but the guy who showed up was the opposite. He arrived an hour and a half early, without notice. Then he put down our house - how ugly it was, "why would anyone live here", saying how awful the location was and pretty much any negative thing he could think of - it was super weird and unwarranted. He then fixed the split unit but left a giant mess all over the walls and floors when he left. Then he proceeded to tell us that all of our brand new units would need to be replaced soon. He was very rude to my family and only had negative things to say his entire visit about literally everything. It was bizarre. We will never use this company again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! We have used them a couple times in the past with little issues but then we had them out a couple weeks ago to fix our AC unit and while the heat worked for a couple weeks the unit started to leak coolants and now only half the house is working. We didn't think this was too alarming so we called to get someone out to fix it. We confirmed an appt only to have them call us back a couple days before the appt to tell us "we will no longer be working on your unit" without a reason why or apology. Not only did they overcharge a couple weeks ago, they didn't guarantee their shotty work and then ran from there own errors. Marni the customer service person was incredibly rude and didn't have anything to say for their lack of professionalism and horrible business practices. To say I was in shock by this phone call is an understatement...right before Xmas no less. Once again...they are not accountable, reliable and are horrible in customer service...DO NOT USE!!!!! read more

I will save you a very long read... if your looking for opinions on how they were treated or what they think of this company suffice to say the worst service we have ever had from any company in the 23 years we have owned our home. The back office was contacted about the horrific service and what ended up being a misdiagnoses and all they could do was yell and curse vs work with us to figure out a solution... again do not try this company no matter how long your wait is to get an AC technician.... hope this helps you avoid the experience we had.. read more

FINALLY!!! OUR AC IS FIXED!! Best service call ever. We had three other companies out to look at our (complicated) heating/cooling system (including the company that installed it!) and they couldn't fix it. It's a ducted multiple mini-split heat pump setup and it wasn't cooling our house. Every single tech that came out to look at it told us to keep the filters clean and left. Some said it was just undersized for the house (it's actually slightly oversized). Others told us it was getting on in age and probably just getting tired. One told me I had unrealistic expectations for what the system could do for me. ALL of them refused to check the refrigerant level, despite me asking several times each visit (between the companies, there were 6+ visits). I was told "it's a closed loop system, there's no way it can leak. that's not the issue" by every single one of them. I started to believe them, and even got a quote to replace the whole system. SO glad we called Century - their service reviews convinced me to call. Charlie came out to our house and ran a few tests to see how the system was cooling and heating. Based on what he found with temperature readings, he thought maybe we were low on refrigerant. When he emptied our 10 pound 8 ounce system to weigh what was in there, he found it was down to two pounds seven ounces. We'd lost 80% of our refrigerant! He topped the system off and the house was FRIGID. We don't need it yet, but we're prepared for this summer. We talked about future repairs for wherever the system is (most likely very slowly) leaking, expectations for this fix, and he's even going to quote moving our outdoor unit to a more accessible location. Thank you Charlie! It was so refreshing to work with someone who listened and believed there was a problem instead of telling me to change the filters. I know I don't know much about HVAC, but Charlie took a lot of time to explain options and he believed what I was telling him (unfortunately a rarity amongst service calls, apparently). This is the type of response that will get a repeat customer, and one day when I do have to replace our system I know who I'll call. Can't thank you enough, Century! read more

They were sent out when I called the home warranty company I use. I had been told by another company that my furnace was in need of replacement. Their tech said that all we needed was a good cleaning so we scheduled a time for them to come out. It took about 2 hours and the furnace has been running great ever since. read more

We purchased a home with electric baseboard and the first thing we did was look for a more efficient source of heat. All I can say is.......WOW!!! I had them come out and service my furnace and to my surprise.....a CO test was included! The technician let me watch as he found some high levels of CO and I didn't even know it! I ended up purchasing a furnace from them and they used drop cloths so they wouldn't destroy my new carpet! My wife was VERY pleased about that. A month or so went by and my furnace started to do some very weird things so I called them and it turned out to be a "main board". It cost me NOTHING! They had the new board installed the next day and it has worked great ever since! But I know that if it does act up again...........they WILL take care of it. read more

Hands down the best! We purchased a home that needed a lot of work. Gary and the owner came out to the property. It took about Ten minutes to see a lot of issues. The previous owner was paying almost 400.00 Dollars a month for gas and 300.00 for power. After a lot of modification and workmanship and Four days. I was speechless! My gas bill is 50.00 and my electric is 115.00. We are so thankful! Goodman is the brand and they know just how to make it work right. I have them come out Twice a year for a check up. That is the most critical part! Those dollar amounts are fixed with the utility company.The install was 05/2013. Now come forward to December 2015. I just emailed Century Heating and A/C. This company was sent out to my house by my home warranty company due to an issue with our AC pipes freezing up. The day before they came out I found the issue and fixed it. So by the time they arrived it was working. They said they would take a look to make sure everything looked okay. There were 3 guys that showed up and for some reason all 3 needed to be in my bedroom where our crawl space was. One guy walked into my house with out knocking and didn't say who he was until I asked. At the end of it all, they tell me that my fix probably made it work and then told me the visit was $75. This company charges to look at a system... I've never heard of that before. Nor was I told that I would be charged. A couple days later the office rep calls me asking to collect $75. While explaining to her that they didn't do anything to my AC, she proceeds to interrupt me so that I couldn't finish my sentence. She also mentioned that they replaced a contact on the AC unit to make it work. They never asked me about replacing anything. In fact the next day I had another company come out to look cause I still had the issue with my unit. They told me it was low on refrigerant. Problem solved and I only had to pay for the product. This company is sheisty, unprofessional and looking to charge people just to look at their system. read more
