Came to Dudley's on a whim for an early dinner. Our server Caitlyn was very accommodating. We required a little extra, since my Mom has been battling with cancer for awhile now. She is unable to eat much, and her tastebuds have changed dramatically. Caitlyn recommended a few smaller plates for us. She must've mentioned to the chefs about her restrictions, because the food came out perfectly! She was very attentive, and polite listening to my Moms stories; she loves to talk! After our meal Bryan/Brian a cook came to our table. As my Mom couldn't eat much, he'd asked Caitlyn if we enjoyed our food, because quite a bit was being wasted. Bryan shared a story with us, and commended my Mom for being such a strong woman, and still smiling despite all she's been through. Great job to the management for having the eye to spot such a talented staff! I had the pimento cheese house cut fries. I also had a half order of the garlic parmesan wings. They were huge. The dressing I could tell was homemade. My Mom grew up in Maryland, so she wanted to try the crab cakes. No complaints from her, which says a lot. Caitlyn offered us dessert options, and we settled on the lemon cake with cream cheese frosting. It was decadent and moist, with the perfect frosting ratio. I give Dudleys a 5 star rating. I ordered a ribeye steak with loaded bake potato. The food was sooo delicious. The resturaunt was very clean, nicely decorated. There was a bar, and areas you can eat outdoors. I enjoy the hospitality . The servers took care of me. Its waitresses like them who deserve higher wages I look forward to dining with Dudley again. read more

This restaurant is amazing! The food is always so good and it's so hard to choose what I want because it's all so good! The service for me has been really good as well. When in Spartanburg this is a MUST visit restaurant. Was traveling thru on the interstate looking for a good steak house when with YELPs help was directed here. Was greeted, seated promptly. Our waiter was very professionall, friendly. The food was great (we had Ribeye, Filet Mignon Steaks and crab legs). Steaks were "oh so yummy" and cooked to perfection. The crab legs were very good. I was in heaven, I was!!!! Atmosphere was spot on all the way from the decor to the ambience of candles burning on each table. Really cool dive. The owner/mgr came around to greet customers. To me, that is always nice. An interesting tidbit, your food is cooked in the middle of a full live bar!!!!! This place has outdoor eating with total fashion of lighted trees, palm tree and outdoor tv. It's a total gem and one of a kind!!!!! I'm now "addicted to its love". read more

Dudley's offers a pretty good variety of tavern food. A bit more upscale than Hickory Tavern, although Hickory has a more diverse menu. They're known for their steaks, although I haven't tried them yet. Instead, I went with the she crab soup and the oyster po boy. The soup was ok--thick, creamy, some crab and garnished with sherry. While good, it does not stand up to Gerhard's. The po boy was very good. Crispy bread, large oysters, remoulade, fresh cut fries. Top notch. The beer selection does not have a good selection of craft beer. The service was good. We'd go back. read more

Went with friends for dinner last night, haven't been there in a long time. They have a special on Thursday with 1/2 off sandwiches if you purchase a beverage, so I ordered the Po Boy. Shrimp were delicious, could have used more country ham on the sandwich, but overall pretty good. Martinis well properly made, service was excellent. A favorite of locals, so it's usually busy. Also, the cheesy biscuits they give you before you meal are quite tasty. read more

Dudley's is cute neighborhood bar/restaurant. I sat at the bar and watched the food being prepared at the kitchen in the center of the bar. Awesome feature...let's you know how your food is being prepared and how long it'll take. The bartender was very pleasant and quick. The patrons/regulars were helpful by explains the specials throughout the week and making recommendations on orders. I'll definitely be back for half prices crab legs on Monday and those great warm biscuits. read more

Dudley's has great food including the best she crab soup this side of Charleston. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the space is way too small for the popularity of the restaurant. It can get very noisy and you really have a hard time communicating with the people at your table. But, owner Trey compensates with excellent food and that is what keeps the east side folks coming back! read more

The onions rings are amazing and all the food we ordered was served hot, presented beautifully and tasted wonderful!!! Came in for my first time at Dudleys and was instantly told I had to change my shirt despite me having on a $150 jersey, despite the hosts wearing a tank top AND sweatpants to add on to that, AS WELL as having plenty of visible tattoos showing for a place that has such a strict persona and dress code policy. After getting past that unfortunate circumstance, I was denied having my shrimp cooked grilled and my flounder fried which is absurd because "they are too busy". The service and food were very good compared to the poor rules that apparently the boss has implemented according to the servers and hostess. Clay was a great and well mannered server the whole way despite the few issues we had. Coming from a family owned business myself, I would suggest the management be more lenient and considerate to the customers request and needs. Besides that, it's not a bad place to eat. read more

I really enjoy this place! I continue to go back at least a couple times a month. Food is really good, but I really enjoy the atmosphere as well. The staff and ladies who work the bar are top notch and actually fun to watch work. You can watch the cooks prepare the food and it is always hot and fresh. I have tried a little bit of everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. I'm sure you will enjoy it as well. If you haven't tried Dudley's you should. Small seafood restaurant in Hilcrest SC. It's only been up and running for 6 years. Very clean atmosphere but waitresses are often rude. Food is overpriced for the portions. I had the seafood boil once and there wasn't much on the plate for it to be about $20. Prices can be compared to Joe's Crab Shack read more

We've been back many times since our first date - always have great food. We went on New Years Eve, had a great experience, great specials. We were so excited so we went back and the next visit wasn't all that. Staff was slow, food wasn't good, and the smoking section in the back patio gets smoke all throughout the restaurant. Very very disappointing. A nice bar area so if you are looking to grab a drink at the bar this is the place to go but food I would pass on. Some TV's and kid friendly but rather not have kids near smoke. read more

Used to be my favorite place to get wings. Noticed since around November that service is getting shitty and food wasn't as good as before. Was told management changed. After the last 2 visits my husband and I have decided to never come here again. Last visit they were not crazy busy but service was extremely slow. All waitresses looked miserable, and when I ordered loaded fried the waitress questioned me and tried talking me out of ordering them. She then told us it was ladies night and 50% of off ladies food and drinks. I ordered wings, large loaded fries, and 2 drinks but only the wings were 50% off on the check. Beer is ice cold. My bartender Danielle has been wonderful and very customer oriented. Table service from Caitlyn was phenomenal. My fillet was delicious and cooked as ordered. So sorry I disturbed her by asking first for drink refills and later for the check. Could have walked out and she or anyone else would not have noticed. The food was simply alright nothing special. I went on woman Wednesday when appetizers and alcohol beverages are half price . I ordered wings and the brisket sandwich. The wings are pretty good and the brisket was amazing. Their homemade ranch sauce is delicious. Customer service was exceptional as the waitress was very friendly and prompt. She made sure I was comfortable and satisfied. The food was very good. I had a cup of She-crab soup as an appetizer and it was excellent. My main course was pork cheek and mashed potatoes. The meat was very flavorful however, the mashed potatoes were nothing special. My wife had the potato soup and it was also very good. Her main course was Chicken and mashed potatoes. Again, the chicken was very good but, the mashed potatoes need something, maybe gravy or something. We also had a piece of turtle cake. It was moist and had a good chocolate cake flavor. The service was excellent at the beginning of our meal and turned poor as the place filled up. Overall a good experience and we will go back and give them another chance. read more
