Well it's 7 years later and Duffys still has karaoke, but it was on a weekday, so that's an improvement. Sometimes I get annoyed when my bf suggests grabbing a bite here, because the menu is limited and it is just bar food....but...dang they do make a GOOD BURGER!!! My experience at Duffy's was kinda not great. My wateriest only came and check on me once and I asked for my bill sat back down with her friend and played on her phone. Plus I came to Bar during the day and the music was very loud I came to bar just to relax but I couldn't in this loud environment TURN DOWN THE MUSIC. Their $1 half-pound burger & chips (Wed) special got me in the door. At 11:40AM, it had gotten a lot of others thru those same doors - it was a full house. I took 1:2 open stools at the bar. Hard surfaces = noisy. Jennifer was working the bar solo. Based on other reviews, my expectations re: service were set to "low." When I arrived, she was indeed handling a Keno ticket matter. But once she finished with that matter and delivered a beer to another diner, she arrived with the menu. She did a very good job. Always hustling. Very few wasted steps or motions. The "catch" ? Burger toppings are 75 cents each - it's easy to run-up the tab. I opt'd for only cheddar. And; you gotta buy a beverage. Ketchup, mustard, A-1 and hot-sauce are no-charge items. On the value scale, it is a winner. If graded on the fundamentals of ingredients and preparation, it is average. I ordered medium and was served what I consider well done - no pink whatsoever. Also, no sear. Also; uncertain if the cheese was cheddar - if it was, it was certainly a very mild cheddar. Searing the burger and toasting the bun would add zero to the costs and deliver a better burger. Will I return? Probably, but just for a change of scenery. I'm unlikely to have a craving for the food or Duffy's experience. WiFi? Yes, but it has at least two serious security problems. Unwise to use it for anything requiring a login/password. Auburn Hills supposedly has free municipal WiFi. It was not working. TV's? Yes. Several big screens, all tuned to various sporting events. (Yawn) Parking ... ugh. Don't park in the lot adjacent to the east side of the bldg. Don't park in the driveway/lot directly behind the building. Go one street to the south and enter that larger, free/public parking lot. Having read other reviews referencing racial discrimination I can confirm and validate those testimonies. The older hunchback waitress was by a significant margin the most rude, disrespectful, unhelpful server to disgrace the restaurant industry. I " a black man" walked into this establishment and was ignored from the start.. no direction as to where to sit, not welcomed In or anything! I waited twenty minutes while the hunchback served everyone else of fair skin, she sat behind the bar joking with patrons and clearly has no intentions of serving me. I asked for a menu and never received one. When my single drink arrived 20 minutes after I ordered she slammed it on the table and immediately turned away not even asking if I wanted food. She was so charming with the older good ol boys but absolutely cold, distant and disrespectful with me.. a first and last time customer. Upon leaving a well deserved donut for a tip I wrote on the receipt "would've been nice to get a menu". She didn't give a S*** if I ate or not. I googled food near me during the whole experience and ended up having a phenomenal dinner at Stoney River Steakhouse (a real establishment) This woman needs to be fired and the owner should be ashamed. I really love their Friday night fish fry. They have great fish dinners. Fish is always very fresh and flavorful. It's a local pub and it's kind of dicey.... a perfect chill place. We had a baseball tournament right near Duffy's with only about an hour between games. We came in with the team and had such amazing service and FAST service with food for our boys. Visited Duffy's Pub on a Friday and saw the special on the board. Fish and Fries for $6.95 w/ a beverage purchase. Since I had already had a tall whiskey, we ordered the special. Was expecting average fish and ships which is par for the course in Michigan but instead was pleasantly surprised by the best fish and ships in the area. Lets see where can I start. We've been going here for 20 years for our Christmas luncheon. Lately the service is really slow. Today it took more than 30 minutes to get my 1st beer. It was pretty flat too. My friend ordered a different "tap" beer. It was served without a head. We travel from Holly to the North to Jackson in the South. We all grew up on the Eastside. I think we're a bunch of old farts & we need to find someplace new. It was another 30 minutes before we got to reorder. Being smarter we ordered our burgers. Duffy's is what it is. A pub in the "Downtown" area of Auburn HIlls - don't blink you might miss it. Its a place for a quick lunch, burgers and sandwiches, or its a place to get a beer after work. I go there for lunch with my customer. Its close, they have a two page menu, they are fast and efficient and you are no breaking the bank - in and out in under 45 minutes, every time. The food is bar food, with no frills, but they do it well - not fancy but it doesn;t need to be. Wait staff is always friendly and helpful - you really can't ask for more in this type of place. The only issue is parking in on the street or behind the building. The lot directly to the East is another firms lot. read more

Came here for a friends birthday party and it was a great time! The downtown area is simple and clean, easy to find parking and not a ton of people walking around like Royal Oak and Ferndale, very low key. The live band was amazing, they played old school and soft rock songs. The dance floor is small and I was taken back a little bit because the dance floor is right at the entrance door area, but that could be a great thing because I only had to take one step in to find the birthday girl on the dance floor lol. Our waitress was more than attentive A++ service, didn't ask for a card on file which I liked because I hate leaving one though I know it's the standard. We were a party of 10 and had a blast, I'll def. be back! The live band stole the show :) read more

Man I love this place. Our hometown dive bar that's better than the average. Great live music. Keno/Darts/Pool. Strong drinks. Personable staff, especially the bartender Jordan who knows us by name and always serves us with a smile. Loved it here - We're new in town and we'll definitely be regulars here. My wife and I don't drink and were a bit skeptical and intimidated trying a bar out as quick meal joint. Everyone was great and there seemed to be a good mix of ages and demographics. Our waiter was outstanding - awesome customer service. I don't think my Pepsi ever get below the half way mark. Our meal came out to about 15 bucks for the both of us and the food was really good. Try the onion rings. My burger bun was touted a bit too much - slightly burnt, but I'm a sucker for good customer service and will vouch this place. this bar is right down the street from my house and it just opened a couple of months ago so we decided to give it a try because we received a 'buy one get one free' coupon in the mail. it used to be a Quizno's and another store that were combined to make a bar. the bar wasn't very crowded, there were some regulars at the bar, including a guy who people referred to as 'Elvis', he even had the sideburns and glasses going on. haha! they have daily $1 specials; coneys, tacos, burgers and chili. they also have 'power hour' every night from 9-10pm, $1 drafts, $2 well drinks. the first thing i noticed is that the beer was good and 'clean' tasting. sometimes when i order a draft it tastes funny. and after 9pm they were $1! i ordered the reuben and my husband ordered fish and chips. the reuben was very big and the corned beef was hot and tasty. the only thing was that there wasn't really very much sauerkraut on the sandwich. i could not eat the whole sandwich. i had a bite of my husbands fish and chips and it was pretty darn good. the fries were crispy and the fish tasted good and i'm pretty sure their tartar sauce was homemade. his meal also came with coleslaw which he really liked, i thought it was just ok, not very flavorful. the bathroom was clean, but it was only 1 stall, it did used to be a Quizno's afterall. i could see this being a bad thing especially on St. Patty's day! i didn't venture to the other 'half' of the bar, but it looked like there was a dartboard and probably another restroom since i saw people going that way. a DJ set up and was playing music around 9PM. the bar started getting busier after 9pm, i think the 'power hour' thing is a good idea to get people to try out a new place. overall the bar was decent, they still have a few kinks to work out but we will definitely be back. read more

Duffy's gets 5 stars - as rated among its peers of other local irish pubs. The place is clean, staff seems friendly, and the food was good. Had the turkey reuben and it was good all around...ingredients, taste, temperature, you name it. I'd order it again, but not before I try some of the other menu items like the fish & chips. Looks like they have regular food specials and a daily happy hour or power hour. Also have a lunch club, where you get your 7th lunch free or something like that. Worth checking out for those that work nearby. I'd like to see this place thrive and bring up the energy level of this little Auburn Hills downtown area. Duffy's Pub has a great thing going for it - $1 Burger Wednesdays. Of course they charge you an arm-and-a-leg for any extra toppings, but just getting the burger plain and adding some ketchup is fine by me. $1 Burger Wednesdays is the reason I give the place 4-stars instead of 3. The waitstaff is hit or miss, I've have had excellent service right down to terrible. However, the people at Duffy's have been very accommodating for the two large parties I have been to there, they practically rearranged half of the bar for one large party! The food is good bar food. I've had the burgers of course as well as different soup specials, chicken fingers, a few different sandwiches and it has all been good, but not great. Drinks have always been good and the prices are fair. The bar is clean and the bathrooms are too. read more
