We had a wonderful experience. We were there at around 10:30 on a Friday. There was a small but steady line of people coming through. It doesn't have a huge deli menu, but it had a bunch of sandwiches on the menu that looked pretty good. You can zoom in on my photo to see the menu. We came for breakfast and there was a nice donut case as well as other breakfast options. We came late so the donut case was pretty picked over which is to be expected. We had a cream filled bismark, a sausage roll, and an Asian coffee. The bismark was the best I have had in a long time. They fill it with your choice of fillings right when you order so it isn't soggy. The dough part of the donut was fresh and light and somehow tastier than anywhere I have been. The custard was pretty standard custard, but also tasted lighter and fresher than I have had before. The sausage roll was basically a hot dog type sausage wrapped in a croissant type dough. There was also an option of cheese and jalapeño. It was good. The Asian coffee was good, as you might guess it was pretty much what other places call Vietnamese coffee. It is in a strip mall so there is strip mall parking. There is a ramp and the store is pretty handicapped accessible. The staff were fast, efficient, and friendly. There was a good amount of seating inside, and a few tables outside. read more

Hidden donut gem. Adore the donuts here and the option to customize with fillings. They offer maple, chocolate, vanilla, maple and classic glaze and you can fill with lemon, Bavarian cream (my favorite) and other rotating flavors. Staff is always friendly and service is fast! Here for work and I found some amazing donuts. They're are light, soft and delicious. My favorite is the bear claw. It's filled with apples and delightful to eat. I don't eat a lot of sweets but surprisingly these aren't super sweet anyway. There wasn't a lot of people when I arrived but then again it is -22 degrees outside. For just simple donuts (glazed, iced, filled, etc), this is as good as it gets in the northwest suburbs. They're not fancy, like some places, but you don't always need a $5 maple bacon donut or pie on top of a donut shaped like a rocket ship. They are a giant step up over any grocery store donut. On top of that, they have great sandwiches, too. Especially the breakfast sandwiches. Again, they're not fancy. Toast or a croissant with egg, cheese, and your choice of meat. All for a fair price with great, friendly customer service. There's not much more you can ask for from a suburban deli in a strip mall. It meets and exceeds expectations consistently. read more

I came here specifically for their Asian coffee because it's some of the best vietnamese coffee I've ever had. I tried their breakfast burrito today and I will definitely be getting it again. Wanted some donuts this morning and the ones close to me are good but not quite what I'm looking for. I came across Dufner's and decided to give them a try. I was greeted immediately by friendly staff and ordered a glazed donut and a sausage & bacon breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The dining area was nice and spacious and the prices are very reasonable. The donut might've been the best I've had in Minnesota and the breakfast sandwich was great as well. Stopped by today to grab some donuts. It was very quiet and this location can easily be missed since it's in a strip mall that seems to be very empty. I arrived around 7:45 am and found the selection of donuts to be okay. One nice feature is that you can choose the filling for your donuts : strawberry , mango or Bavarian . That was really cool, you choose a donut from the display then they will pump it with filling. They have a nice selection of deli food. For breakfast I grabbed an avocado toast . I got a lot more than I anticipated and it tasted good. I would love to come back again and try other items on their menu. read more

Stopped for a doughnut for the first time. DOUBLE YUM! Hubby had apple fritter (crispy edges,) and I had a maple glazed doughnut. So soft and fluffy! The place was a bit less upscale than I had anticipated. The soup was pretty good (it was cold outside so just being hot made it a winner. The grilled salami sandwich was nothing special on the ingredients side, but the cook clearly wanted to do a good job. Based on the reviews I read, I thought that this was a great place to stop. We were in the western suburbs, which is a rarity for us. We ordered a Reuben and a Rachel. The sandwiches were meh at best. We couldn't tell that they had sauerkraut or Russian dressing on them. We also felt that the sandwiches were expensive for what we got. We didn't want donuts, so we didn't try them. Went to a donut shop we already know about instead of taking a chance here. The service was friendly, which was nice. There was a bit of a wait, with a crew of only two people. It got pretty busy while we were there. Won't be returning. I do feel glad that others have enjoyed their food here. I think that every neighborhood deserves a little sandwich shop. read more

Watch out, awesome sandwiches ahead! On travel to Plymouth and had a craving for a deli sandwich. Found Dufner's through a search and figured I would give 'em a try. Walked in and it was apparent they were in the middle of a remodel (not bad). Was greeted by the owner and he explained they had just bought the business and were in the process of updating. Their menu is straight forward and easy to read. I ordered a club sandwich. It came out quickly and looked great! The taste was spot on and filling. The food is really good, the service is really great. You have to appreciate a hard working guy doing the sandwiches, ringing people up at the register and handling all the service related tasks. Something about that just makes the whole experience something to appreciate, especially doing it all at a high level. I've never been disappointed with a soup or sandwich. I've tried most of the regular menu items...faves are the Reuben, hoagies and most specials. I like the clam chowder and chicken noodle for soups, they're a little salty but good. Unique hours here, only open during peak times of the day. I typically visit for lunch and all I can say is plan ahead, it gets busy and remember, he's doing most of it on his own! read more

I was expecting a lot more with the reviews to be honest. These were very basic, normal sandwiches, not the best or unique or like authentically anything. Inside was not appealing, windowsill was like super dirty with bugs and cobwebs. The sandwiches I got were Turkey hoagie, and a Rachel. Super basic, not the tastiest honestly. The people I chatted with were super nice, staff was great so I hate that the sandwiches weren't the best and place could use a good deep cleaning. Also, why does this area not have sour dough bread? I moved to the Plymouth area several months ago, so I wanted to find a tasty local lunch spot nearby and boy did I find an absolute gem. You wouldn't think much of it, looking at Dufner's from the outside. Located in a little strip mall, this place has the kindest, most welcoming owner who does everything on his own. Raj will greet you with a big smile and if it's not too busy, strike up conversation. He makes it all fresh, to-order and takeout is fast. I love the wraps here, and when I call to order, I ask for the wrap to be grilled a little bit on the outside. My favorite wrap is the roast beef wrap (~$11) which comes with lettuce, tomato, and cheddar cheese with your choice of chipotle or ranch sauce. I've also requested for the corn beef to be made into a wrap rather than a sandwich and Raj was able to whip this up. If you like soup, you MUST try the chicken wild rice soup here. It's a little spendy, at $6 for a bowl, but it's incredible. I was having a bad day, and this chicken wild rice soup tasted like a much-needed warm hug. It is certainly a comfort food. Rich, creamy, and loaded with chicken. I need to try their burgers, sandwiches and hoagies in the future. Dufner's has so much to offer and even though it's a bit steep on the prices, the quality of their deli food can't be beat. Most of the sandwiches are big enough and filled with fixings for me to split for two meals. The strip mall and parking lot have recently been completely overhauled with a like new look. I asked for cream for my coffee and the cashier/order taker guy said he'd grab some more for me then proceeded to take orders from other people for 10+ minutes. It wasn't until the cook brought me my breakfast sandwich and asking her for cream that I was finally given some. By then my coffee was on the cold side. Don't go there thinking you'll get quick service like McDonalds even though you're just grabbing something simple to go. If you have a lot of free time and patients, and want something that will taste better than a fast food joint, then this is a decent option. read more

We've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm so glad we finally did. We got 5 different sandwiches all of them amazing. The quality of the bread, meat , and fixings were great quality. Saving the best part for last, is the costumer service. The owner was beyond generous and helpful. As a local resident who heard about your deli from the Plymouth City Council, I was not thrilled with the service we received today. Purchased a bowl of soup, opened the carton and it was half full. Paid for 12 oz's of soup, I measured what we got and it was 8 oz's. Shorting customers is not the way to do business. And when we called Dufner's the gentleman working said "thanks for letting him know" and hung up. Cool, so much for customer service.
