Came today to do my taxes, had some time to kill so I came to check out the place, as someone from Guadalajara I often crave churros and tortas so I thought I gave them a try. I have been disappointed before with stale, flavorless and burned monstrosity so I didn't have my hopes up. The ambience was a bit lacking, it look like the words " Hopeful but shy" came to life as a restaurant. No to mention the workers were on break or atleat seem to be when I got there. The service was great friendly and welcoming, I had a variety of options and was happy to try. I got a churro and a cheesecake, at an affordable prize they tasted great and made wanna come back. Was looking for a sweet treat and I came upon this place, The churros were amazing they were so fresh soft and so good. The wait time wasnt so bad. My only reason for 3 stars was the employee in a face mask. 1 she was incredibly unfriendly.. 2 she was delaying orders because she wouldnt listen. I respect the taller women for trying to keep her calm and tell her how to handle what was going on, for some bery funny reason she was the one apologizing for the service not the actual young lady who was being rude!! In the span of my wait there, the younger shorter girl was unfriendly with us, tried having the other employee check our ticket while she ran in the back but the other employee was taking an order!!! Then she missed taking the temperature of the drinks' girl its food service dont play with peoples food!!! I myself have experience working bad in a fast pace environment but domt choose to not gaf ! Slow down and ask for help and listen! This place was so good! First timers and got the 6 churros + 2 toppings + 1 scoop of ice cream. We picked strawberry syrup and whip cream with strawberry ice cream. The strawberry jam they put in top tasted so fresh and plenary of it, had prices of strawberries in there as well! Absolutely fresh and amazing, We also got a chocolate syrup and powder surgery + vanilla ice cream, personally I enjoyed the strawberry better. Unfortunately there's only 2 staff one cashier and one back person so orders were slow took about 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon about 4 . Read this through, Dulce Canella owner. This used to be our favorite churro spot but unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning. Their restrooms are closed to customers, even though I think it's against regulations (maybe even the law) to deny access to restrooms when you serve food that is allowed for consumption on-site. We drove 20 min to come here and although adults can hold it if they have to go, kids cannot...but they don't seem to care. Also, we bought an atole and asked for an empty cup so we could split it and they charged us 25 cents. So if I don't have cash, I have to use my card to pay $0.25? That's just ridiculous. Also beware, if you come and order in person, your wait will be long even if there's nobody else waiting because they prioritize online orders. We waited 55 minutes and when I tried to pinch off a piece of a churro, it crumbled completely, like a dry piece of old bread. Wtf?? They were not only cold but dry AF...so confused. We asked for a refund, it was given but no apology, nothing to make it right. read more

I first visited here in February and have been coming back for catering since. I had a birthday party and nonprofit event and both times Dulce Canella was the star of the meal. Second time I walk here for just one order of Platanos . ... can someone explain to me how it will take 15 to 20 minutes for one small batch of Platano's does not make any sense and to me . It's hard to find quality churros, especially in bulk, and I'm so glad my friends found Dulce Canella-- and only live 20 minutes away! The churros are top tier and great for parties. The staff is always great about being on time with orders, and even if there is a wait, are very accurate with pick up times. Love their shake flavors and drink varieties. The chocomilk is my go-to, but all the different drinks look just as good. So many different options dessert wise as well if you need more than a churro to fulfill that sweet craving. Not very impressed with this little shop. All the amounts of ice cream were extremely small. If you have ever gotten tacos and gotten salsa the scoop was just slightly bigger than that. Our sundae had very little ice cream almost comical how little there was. The wait times are extremely long even though it was pretty empty. Service was excellent but the portions are just too small. Came here for the first time on Saturday, 6/13 in the evening and would not recommend. Ordered Dubai Chocolate Strawberries but they were not Dubai Chocolate. The chocolate was regular chocolate, not rich Belgium chocolate as Dubai Chocolate comes with. Could not taste the pistachio and instead just tasted like strawberries drizzled with milk chocolate. Not worth the $13. Mini pancakes were also ordered and was told it would take 15 minutes. Instead it took 30-40 minutes to be ready. Also, as I waited for my order to be ready, one of the staff was being rude to another employee because a customer moved a chair around when no one was around. The staff is pretty friendly and keep in mind it may take some time to get your order especially if there are lot of orders in. Since they are made to order, it takes some time to get the right cook. These people know what they are doing so I don't mind waiting some time to bite in. They have a few tables but not too many as a heads up. It's a nice casual drop in spot and packed well for to-go, so I picked them up and ate them while walking. I loved the texture, density, cook. I did get some cinnamon sugar clumping a little so had to dust it off to prevent eating a cluster (can be a little messy).
