If you are looking for a real American Diner look no further!! The Duluth Diner immediately took me back to me back to my teenage years when I arrived to the United States from Dublin, Ireland. Upon entering the diner I was made feel very Welcome by all the staff. I was immediately seated and given my menu. The menu is absolutely amazing. My server immediately took my drinks order and gave me plenty of time to read over the menu. I ordered the Steak&Eggs with a side of toast. Everything was perfect! The coffe, steak, eggs and toast were perfect. Let me add the coffee and orange juice were perfect also. My server was awesome and checked in on me to see if I needed anything. You can tell the staff take a lot of pride in their jobs and the Duluth, Diner. The Duluth Diner is open Seven Days a Week. Now here is the best part. The Duluth Diner is perfect for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. It should be noted they offer amazing desserts also. The Duluth Diner is very clean and the rest rooms are clean also. Lastly I have traveled all over the world with the United States Marines, Originally from Ireland and traveled all over the United States. My go-to diner since they have opened. Traditional diner fare. Great prices and great quality food. My family have had much of their menu over the years and they never disappoint. Many of the excellent staff have been there since opening which shows that the owner treats them well. They have supported the local community by way of school sports sponsorships in the past and I will always be loyal to a local small business, especially one that gives back. read more

Just had breakfast, went to put food in the to go container and there was hair. The manager took 50% off as said he was sending the hair to a lab. First off my hair is natural and super curly. That hair was straight. It was wrapped in the food. The kitchen staff did not have on a hair net. But the audacity to insinuate it's mine is insane. Nothing exceptional here - it's exactly what I would expect from a local diner. Giant menu with generous portions, wide assortment of breakfast, lunch, and cake options. The restaurant itself was clean and well-run with nice service and lots of coffee refills. Unfortunately, the tables are a bit close together so it's awkward to move around if it's busy (weekend breakfast/brunch). While the biscuits, grits (so creamy and buttery that even my son who never eats grits chowed down), and waffles were surprisingly good, the omelets, home fries, and sausage were very disappointing. The omelettes came out flat and thin - not at all fluffy. And the pancakes tasted fine but they were hard to cut as if they had some other ingredient like sweet rice, making them somewhat chewy instead of fluffy. The bacon was fine but the sausage was a weird patty that wasn't very appetizing. The home fries were a pile of mush. :( So yeah, not my favorite but it will do in a pinch if you want breakfast and are in the area. read more

I ordered the same sandwich over and over, and they always get it writ. I never get the Thousand Island dressing with my Rueben. Don't order takeout from these people, they are idiots. I have had the same issue about 5 times, and it's always an apology...never a remedy. They refused to give me a refund. I will find another diner! read more

This is one of the best hidden gems in the Johns Creek/Duluth area. It is exactly what you would expect from a classic diner. Such a large menu and everything is delicious. I have tried so many items, however, I can't stop ordering their gyro sandwich...I do not think there is a better gyro in the Atlanta/North Atlanta area. If you are in the mood for breakfast, you can't go wrong. Their pancakes are delicious and always prepared to perfection. If there is something not on the menu that you are craving, they will be able to prepare it for you. I've been to Duluth diner a few times with my coworkers and to get dessert. Love those huge slices of yummy goodness cakes. Each time I ordered their bacon cheeseburger , medium well. I haven't been disappointed. The burger was grilled and seasoned well and the fries were good. I ordered the fried chicken one time. It tasted okay. Lacked flavor but cooked well. It was not under done or over done. I would recommend this place for typical diner food but wouldn't go out of my way to come here if I lived far away. My co worker loves this place so we always ended up here. Service is decent. The wait staff is attentive. I may go one day and give their breakfast a go since I live walking distance away. Wish I had pictures but I'm not really thinking about taking pictures when I'm hungry. read more

Have lived in Duluth for four years and this has become our favorite local spot for a diner. The Greek family that owns it are very sweet and take pride in their place, especially the quality of the food and the service. The Gyro platter was the first item I tried here and it keeps me coming back. I also really enjoy their patty melts. They have tons of items on their menu. This place is not the move. For a diner, I was disappointed by the quality of food. Most diners that I've been to in the past (i.e.: Atlanta's Breakfast Club or Toccoa's Big Biscuit) have all had exceptional taste and quality of food. I visited this place on Labor Day hoping to not only fill my stomach, but please my taste buds... Well, I was definitely full, but I didn't want to take leftovers home because it wasn't worth eating again. The prices are also higher than I was expecting for the portion sizes. Just think of IHOP prices, with lesser food... yup. I ordered pancakes with strawberries and a biscuit. My meal wasn't anything special. The biscuit came out fresh, fluffy, and warm. The person with me ordered fresh toast with strawberries in strawberry syrup (they were very disgusted by those, and suggests ordering fresh strawberries instead), with bacon. Their french toast was bland without syrup, and their bacon was fatty (as it's the real bacon). I will give them credit with customer service though. The morning that I went, they were literally packed. There were no opened tables or booths. But within 10 minutes they hustled through and got us seated where we wanted. That was great! We even had an excellent waitress! She was fast, but also took her time with each customer. On the way out we also experienced good customer service. If you're curious on the size of the restaurant, it's pretty small. It's smaller than it looks on the outside, so be prepared for that. So would I ever eat there again, probably not. Passing through Duluth and a friend recommended DD to us. Glad we tried it. The Greek Gyro Platter was more than enough for lunch, Greek salad with delicious stuffed grape leaves on the side, Gyro and fries. The Gyro was delicious and the fries were fresh and crispy. My husband had the Philly Steak and loved it. To top it off the waiter offered us a slice of cake on the house... jelly roll with pudding and strawberry filling. Amazing! Quality restaurants have the same problem as great TV shows. When they sprout spin-offs, there's always concern that the satellite cast can't cut what the original was able to. Thus, in fandom, we enjoy debates that will rage until the end of time: Was "Frasier" better than "Cheers"? Did "CSI" over-populate? Did Sisko rock the bald better than Picard? (Just kidding about that last one. We all know no one beats the Earl Gray advocate.) The Marietta Diner has experienced the same controversy. When it opened the Duluth Diner several years ago, there was unbridled anticipation among those in the know; especially those folks in Gwinnett County, who couldn't be asked to brave the Fury Road called I-285 just for their 24-hour diner fix. But there was also anxiety. Even having expanded the building, the Duluth Diner is nowhere near the size of its massive mothership. The sense of gawdy occasion isn't here, either. The polite, but commanding matron you'll see holding sway over the Marietta location isn't pacing the aisles making sure everything is just right. The oblique impression that this is truly a European-influenced joint just ain't there, folks. What you get is a much more laid-back and intimate experience. Think less Chicago and more Carrollton, less Manhattan and more McDonough. Some are going to like that, others will be dissapointed. And the menu's taken a hit, too. If Marietta's massive tome is Captain America, this one's Captain America pre-Stark experiment. Not that the food is bad, mind you. It's just you're not going to find some of the more exotic items that you do over in Marietta. What you will enjoy, thankfully, is the quality of service is just as wonderful, and what menu items are present (and they're still gloriously indecision-inducing) are cooked to perfection. Still, while the Marietta Diner gives you a sense that pomp and circumstance justifies their higher prices, the Duluth Diner wants the same money for what's essentially a hole in the wall. I'm not saying the size of the restaurant should determine the price of the offerings--food critics have been shot for less--but that since you know the ole' MD is around you'd think the prices in Duluth would translate to, erm, a smaller size to go along with a dining experience that feels much less like stepping into the Tangiers (in one of the best movies ever made) than the larger location. So, even though one of the finest Belgian Waffles in the world can be found at the Duluth Diner, I'm dinging them a star. They're just asking a bit too much under this roof. Oh, and the coupons are a joke. They're as chintzy as Avery Brooks' acting in season one. EXCELLENT customer service and the food was good. Price friendly: my wife and I had a philly cheesesteak meal with fries, drink, breakfast plate with bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, toast and hashbrowns for $23. The speed of service was great also, as there wasn't a ling long wait after we placed our order. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive to us. This has been named to our budget friendly list of places to eat, and we will definitely be back. I think I was expecting more out of this place based on the reviews on Yelp. After a Saturday morning running errands, we decided to eat at Duluth Diner- we wanted to try something different in the neighborhood. The diner seems to be remodeled from a fast food restaurant. The interior was tidy and clean. The menu was extremely extensive- almost overwhelming. Both my husband and I ordered omelets- he had the Philly cheese omelet and I had the Greek ordered with egg whites. The waiter served us the wrong omelet (I got his and he got mine) and although I was suspicious, we didn't realize the mix up until we were halfway done. The food was OK- it didn't wow me but it wasn't horrible either. Service was OK. Our drinks remained filled the majority of the time. Our waiter was polite. After our food was served I did have to get up and get our own condiments since it was impossible to flag anyone down. I might be back- although there would be other choices I would go to first. One word: Roaches. Yes, that's plural. Went here for breakfast. Ordered a waffle knowing I would only eat half & take the rest to-go. We had finished our meal and were chatting when I saw a roach crawl up the wall. I can only imagine the look of horror on my face as I'm repeating "oh my God" over and over because of the pure shock of what I was witnessing mere inches from our plates. The waiter quickly came to our table, but the unwelcome guest flittered under the table. He made no apologies. No manager came to our table to apologize. We moved to another table to conclude our conversation. Leaving behind the now assumed contaminated half waffle, and keeping an eye out for the roach. When, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a second roach close to the entrance of their kitchen. We had enough. We paid our bill. Yes, the bill should have been comped but I paid $15 to eat half a waffle with strawberries, OJ, and a side of roach!!? Because I'm too nice! Thankfully I was able warn away a couple as they pulled into the parking lot, so they did loose some income that day. If you see two (2) roaches in the front of the house, imagine how bad it must be in the kitchen!!? Nasty!!! I have a compromised immune system and I'm praying I don't get sick! The presentation was very nice and the toppings on the food was fresh (fresh strawberries and whip cream). It was nice if you just want to have a nice private meal. Solid diner. We've been coming here for 5+ years and I don't think we've ever had a bad meal here. We primarily go for breakfast/lunch on the weekends but have been for dinner once or twice. So we did take out tonight because we were burnt from a day of hard core housecleaning. I have always thought of this as a pretty good diner but their execution on the take out was markedly superior. 1) Timing. I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I rolled in the front door at 14:30 or so and it was being walked to the register. I was cashed out quickly and well and the lead server remembered my name from breakfast about a month ago. 2) Packaging and prep. You don't think or presentations as a big deal in take out. The person who prepped these boxes dressed them like a dinner plate. All the containers were top of the line and the food was hot after a 10 minute drive home. 3) The food itself. Great salad gyro, Two excellent sandwiches (french dip and a pizza burger) and pancakes for my 12 year old. This place is an absolutely authentic Greek diner. The wait staff speaks Greek. The menu has a suitably ethnic fair and the diversity of available dishes is impossible for one diner to exhaust. This place it worth your time and your money. read more

This is a high-quality diner with pleasant staff and fast service. I'm addicted to their tzaziki sauce--it's the perfect balance of creamy and garlicky. On occasion, I've gone there just to get an order of warm pita and tzaziki. Yum! Duluth Diner also has pretty good burgers and enough menu variety to please my whole family--parents, husband, brother, and sister-in-law. Only been here once but so far so good. On this occasion, I had the gyro platter and tasted my gf's chicken fried steak. I thought the gyro was flavorful but wished there was more of it. This restaurant was one of the WORST ones I've ever been to. The service was horrible (my waiters name was Sam I believe) and they were incredibly rude to me. My food took close to 30 minutes and there was barely anybody there to justify the wait. It's smelled bad and the bathrooms were nasty. Not to mention the food wasn't that good and my cake was extremely stale. All of the food was incredibly overpriced and I'd expect good food for the amount I paid (nearly $50 for two people). Plenty of parking, lots of seating (rarely crowded), and decent prices for the amount of food. The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is the service and interior. Booths here are falling apart and decor is out-dated. Service is minimal and almost non-existent, but don't let that deter you from trying out their gyro! I love the gyro here and despite trying other dishes, always come back for the gyro. It's seasoned well, juicy, tender, and tastes wonderful. The food is above average as is the pricing. Portions are large however and can be split for those with lighter appetites. Traditional "Greek Diner" with lots of menu options and daily specials. We have been to this locally owned establishment two times. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both times we received exceptional service and good food. Duluth Diner delivers what they promise- diner food in a cozy diner booth. The menu is super kid friendly and the servers are always looking out for what the kids might need.
