Dune Dog was my favorite lunch spot. Mary always served me at the bar. She was amazing every time. I'm so disappointed by the hostility I faced from the male Bartender and Female Server one day in October. There was only 1 table w customers and 1 man at the bar. I asked for a server after sitting at table for 10 minutes- the bartender said, " She will be right w you." I said, " I've been sitting here for a while. Can you get me a beer?" He refused. He kept saying, " She will be right w you." I said, " Where is she? " He refused to answer. I said, " Can you get me a beer?" He refused. She finaply came out after 15-20 minutes. She screamed at me. Said she had customers in back, I said, " I am a customer." WHY did I have to BEG to be served? I left in tears, the cruelty of some people in this establishment is beyond my wildest nightmares. This place is another local staple. There is one in Stuart and Jupiter. This place has some of the best hot dogs that I've had in my life. Dune dog has been a favorite of my family for a long time. It's a casual beachy tiki hut looking restaurant with good food and good service. There is always a lot of people waiting for a table but the line goes super fast. There's a clipboard by the entrance where you write your name and number of people in your group, and within minutes your guaranteed to be seated! The wings were delicious and we got the sesame ginger sauce which had a nice flavor. I got the crunchy fish sandwich which to be honest isn't really my taste and I probably wouldn't order it again but it was good and very fresh. My mom ordered the Gorgonzola salad which was hugeee and very good. The portion sizes here are big and the prices are relatively low. Parking can be a bit difficult at times because the lot is small and mostly full but normally within a few minutes someone is already leaving. Upon arriving it was quite confusing, we didn't know where to go or wait or to even sign in. I guess there was a sheet of paper you had to HELP YOURSELF to and write on. Thank god for other customers telling us where to go and what to do. There was no hostess it was way too confusing. Service was extremely slow, when we got seated along with another couple they got served about 15 minutes before we even got drinks. I appreciate the server apologizing on her behalf but waiting almost 25 minutes to order a drink was kinda ridiculous.. when I put my order for the chili in I only wanted cheese but the kitchen messed up, I feel bad asking for them to remake something for me but the server was super nice about it. The food was decent The mozzarella sticks were okay and so was the fish the mixed vegetables were not it.. they were super sour for some reason! Definitely wasn't expecting that.. butt this place is nothing special. I don't think it was worth the wait for the service we received..I think my boyfriend enjoyed his hotdog more than I enjoyed my food lol.. I think that is what they are known for so maybe I should try to go for those next time. Definitely a chain restaurant is the only reason I think they may have great reviews. The hotdogs seem to be the spotlight and we tried the Leroy Browns junkyard dog based on the servers suggestion. I had corn on the cob as a side and my husband had the onion rings. I ordered sangria and the hub ordered a beer, they do not have any alcoholic beverages besides beer and wine. The hotdogs are quite large but not served hot, even the toppings were lukewarm. They seem to be missing flavor - the corn on the cob was definitely pulled straight from water served with no butter or seasonings. Onion rings fresh and fried from the bag. Meh... I didn't really see the appeal but maybe I needed to have a hot dog. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner thinking that being in a coastal town it would be good no matter what. Not the case. Stopped in for casual lunch. Happy people attentive servers reasonable prices for generous portions. We were down for lobster rolls, which being from New England was a different experience for us. But for less than 12 bucks it was a great deal. I'm glad hubby asked what was on them as I've never had cheese on a lobster roll before and not sure I'm ready to try...it also has tomato on it which was different too but I tried to be "open minded".
