I don't even know where to start with this. I used to go to this Dunkin every morning with my boyfriend, when I first moved to Cromwell, the coffee was always incredibly made and the food was good. They remodeled and everything went to shit. You have a bunch of kids working in there who do not care about the customers happiness. Maybe 2 people in there at this point actually do a good job. I went there this morning because I enjoy their Ultimate bacon jam breakfast sandwich. Mind you that is supposed to have the jam bacon and cheese on a CROISSANT. as advertised on the board. I always replace the bacon with sausage. I got up to the window. And they've given me the grilled cheese so I nicely asked for them to remake it and they gave me a sandwich finally on a croissant but did not sub the bacon for sausage. So my boyfriend went inside to for the second time now ask them to remake it. He comes back out and they gave him another grilled cheese with sausage on it. I've never had so much trouble with this Dunkin. My suggestion is go to the one on Newfield street or go to the one by Walmart in Cromwell. They need better staff who actually pay attention to what the customers are ordering. I also had to ask for my change because the person attending me put it to the side and forgot to give it to me. read more

You can't improve anything I've already called Chrisy numerous times there's nothing ever gonna be done about that location. I'm just gonna have to drive further hoping the Kirby Rd location is better, these people can't get it right no matter if you order ahead or in person they always screw your drink up. In fact the most worst experience I had is I gave a kid and I talked very slow cause I could see he was having issues. I have a $50 bill. I only wanna add $10 to my app and I want $40 back. What's he do he puts the $10 plus the cost of what I bought on the app and handed me back $23. I'm like what are you doing? I just told you I needed $40 back. I'm going to get gas. The kid look like he was in La La Land that's another problem. These kids don't know how to add so the manager comes over and says he can't help me then I call Chrisy. She says she can't help me these people send you these cards of stuff you don't even use iced tea, etc. thinking it's just gonna shut you up. I'm done with that place. She needs to be retrained and so do the people at that location. This must be the worst Dunkin I have ever been to in my entire life anywhere in the entire country. The coffee isn't as good as other locations and the service is absolutely horrible. I knew they were bad but tried to give them another chance. I placed a mobile order and even waited a bit to pick it up because I know they're slow. I walked in and my coffee is still behind the counter, not on the stand they have for mobile order pickup. I ordered a coffee and a muffin and got there 20 minutes after ordering. How is a muffin, something you literally just pick up and put into a bag, not ready after 20 minutes. I go into to Dunkin Donuts and the woman in front of me, orders an ice coffee. The cashier who took the order, then comes back with a hot coffee for her.He now has to remake the order. Now he is taking my order. I first order a doughnut and he tells me that there are no more in the case and none of the back. So I pointed to the shelf and there are two racks of those donuts sitting there. No apology sorry I didn't see them there, or thank you for telling me. I then order a decaf coffee, and I see him pouring reg. coffee in the cup, and hands it to me. I said I ordered decaf. He said that's what I gave you. I can't help but leave my review just to confirm what everyone else has said about this place... what a horrible establishment to stop at. The interior is roomy and clean, so I'll give them that much. The service however, is absolutely dreadful. The 3 people ahead of us who were waiting when we got there had the most annoyed faces, you could tell they'd been waiting a while already. They need to completely retrain their staff and have a manager who can actually manage in there, ASAP. This is probably one of the worst DD in the Cromwell area. Coffee is consistently watered down. You actually can not taste the coffee in their iced coffee. If you order it black, it will look like ice tea. My friend ordered hash browns .. half were burnt and the other half soggy. The only reason I give this DD 2 stars instead of 1 is because they have a nice layout inside to have coffee with friends. If you really want a good DD, head north on RT 3 to the DD across from the Marriott... that one is a lot better and their employees are better trained so you can expect consistent food quality. read more

Most insane experience I've had in a while. Show up at 8:25 (they close at 9) and the woman behind the counter was too busy throwing donuts out to notice we were there. She finally noticed us and was acting as if we showed up at closing (the confirmed they did not close for 35 mins). Then proceeded to tell us "no" to anything we ordered b/c "we've shut down that station for the night". I asked for a bagel with cream cheese and she says "we can't toast that bc the station is closed" so I just ask for it untoasted. Turns out, they already threw them out so they don't have bagels to give me - just say that. After I learn no bagel I watch to woman go back to throwing out donuts but she hasn't yet given me the munchins I ordered. I had to stop her and ask for them. I know you work hard and just want to go home but this is nuts. Close at 8 and then start cleaning. Why stay open if you don't have anything. This Dunkin' location is basically worthless. At least that's my experience as someone who actually walks in, rather than uses the drive-thru. Walking in, even in the 4am hour, almost always is followed by waiting an eternity for actual human acknowledgment, which is to say nothing of the substandard quality of service that follows. My family and I went in yesterday and ordered 4 different ice coffee and a dozen of donuts we wanted a bit my step son got his first that's why I'm writing this. So then a few minutes later the rest we had to ask this nice lady to make we got in the car and I looked at my steps son driving and he was done and I looked at his cup and it was packed to the rim of ice so I went back in to have them make it right and the blond manager said no because it was empty I said it's full of ice and she then laughed and said I would have to pay to get a new one this went on for 2 minutes so a other customer told her she was wrong and he even said that's way to much ice so he offered to pay for a new one but then this nice color lady with straight long hair came over and asked me what's wrong I told her and she said to the boss why don't you just him a new one and the nice lady took my old cup and made me a new one she should be a manager not that rude one who laughed at me. I have no complaints; my orders are always spot on, fresh, hot, served by friendly, professional, courteous staff both in the drive thru and in the restaurant itself in a timely fashion. I really like the layout in the restaurant - comfortable seating giving it a cosy atmosphere, very clean, even a TV... a cut above the usual run of the mill DD. I can't count the number of times I've order a sausage and egg sandwich with no cheese and they've given me either an egg and cheese or sausage and cheese sandwich. My local DD during my morning commute from Middletown to the Greater Hartford area. Very quick in and out, even in the drive thru during the morning rush hour with about five cars waiting to order. I've been inside and gone drive thru for my orders and I usually don't spend any more than five minutes from ordering to getting my coffee... or latte... or dunkaccino... or whatever my brain wants in order to function correctly for the rest of the day. Staff is very pleasant and friendly as they take your orders and serve you. This DD has the extra parking for buses as it's a convenient on/off location from Interstate 91/Route 9. Never been there when there are buses, but probably safe to avoid if you are in a rush and there are buses in the lot. read more

I generally never write a review but what happened today was such a bad (not to mention shady!) experience that i had to write something. Now i am waiting for a call I placed to the franchise right after the incident and it is a Sunday sooo...we shall see. Anyway, here's what happened. I'm a dd perks holder. Today I checked my perks and I had the "when the patriots win you win" perk for a free hot or iced coffee. So I went out of my way to get my perk as I usually just let them expire. I pull up to the drive thru and order a large iced caramel macchiatto. The girl comes to the window and says " that will be $4.63" or however much it was. I had my card out and told her id like to use my patriots perk. The girl told me that that perk does not apply to what I ordered. I told her it says ANY large hot or iced coffee. She proceeded to say to me..get ready.."that is not coffee. You got a macchiatto which is an espresso and is excluded from that promotion." I said to her "where does it state that on my app because it states any coffee and does not differentiate between coffee and espresso and espresso IS coffee." She ignored me. Not wanting to make a scene in front of my fiancee who thinks I make too many scenes...I just handed over a $5, got my change from her and picked up my cell to call the number for Batista? that was listed beneath the drive thru window. She then opened it and said "Excuse me are you waiting for something!" very snottily. I said nope I'm calling the franchise on you, and she shut her window very aggressively. I left a message for Batista? Corp to get back to me. Later that night on my way home I told my fiancee I'm calling corporate. He said to get my receipt and see if there's a store number. And what do you know... I never got a receipt! I was so upset with this experience I didn't realize this girl never even gave me a receipt! That got me thinking...did this girl lie to me, charge me for what should be a free drink, use her own perks card and pocket my money and hence I didn't get a receipt? I even checked the terms and conditions of the patriots win you win free coffee and it does NOT say "excludes cappuccino and or espresso...etc". In fact there are NO exclusions listed. Hmmmm. CHECK THE ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE. The drive-thru crew consistantly screws up our order almost every time we go there. We get home and find out (like today) that they forgot to put my sandwich in the bag. They didn't charge us for it, but it still sucks to drive home and open the bag only to discover that they messed up AGAIN and I go without breakfast. It's happened so often that I now blame myself for not sitting at the window and inspecting every package. In the past, we've ordered strawberry frosted donuts and gotten chocolate. Ordered de-cafe coffee and received caffinated (that was fun for me as I haven't had caffine for 15 years. I was sick the whole day). Wrong spreads on my bagel. And had MANY orders where items were just not in the bag. We forgot to check this time and (of course) they got us again. But this is the last time. We just won't come back again! On a side note; what ever happened to "Thank You"? All you get here (as with many franchises is "here ya go..." then maybe a "have a good one." I guess it's just a sign of the times. I've lived in cromwell my whole life and this place use to be really great. They drive thru they say please hold while they assist one car. then 5 mins later they come back. They are not friendly morning people. and the coffee is always burnt in the morning, and sometimes in the afternoon. They are the biggest Dunkin in Cromwell, like get your staff together and work as a team. After my last time in there they didnt listen to my order made my coffee wrong and even when i told them they wouldnt make another cuz they were to busy. I stopped going to that one cuz all it is a bunch of High schoolers who think its an easy job. I worked in fast food places its not easy. The one in Middletown on Newfield Street and Washington Street are so much more friendlier and know how to make a good cup of coffee. Id drive to starbucks before i go back here. Here it goes! This review is a long time in the making but I've held off hoping just maybe enough complaints to the owners would create change(a women manager in the morning is running a circus). So I've been going to this DD for over 10 years and during this time, I have had 3 cups of medium coffee spilled all over the inside of my car due to faulty lids. One of the occurrences I asked for reimbursement due to the fact that it was a brand new car( I had to fight to get half of what it costs after I was promised the entire amount-receipt provided(you would think they would have given me the entire amount since I have always DECLINED any gift cards and simply just asked for them to rectify the problems). Now let's dicuss how to make a cup of coffee. I ask for a medium cup of coffee with cream and sugar, sounds pretty generic to me, well just as the last customer stated it's like hitting LOTTO if you get it made the way you asked for it. Lastly and most importantly let's talk about customer service. You wait patiently in the drive thru just to pull up to the window with no hello, a sour look on the employees face, your change and receipt thrown back at you and your cup of coffee dripping all over you. I am a 100% at fault for continuing to help keep them in business however; enough is enough and I finally decided to try the DD on Kirby Road. I feel like what the heck was I waiting for. These people go out of their way to make you happy with a smile on their face(I wish they had a tip jar-they deserve it).
