Glenn’s Donuts - The interior. Like another version of Glenn Wayne, but donuts are king here!

Glenn’s Donuts

I mean how much is there to say about a donut shop spinoff of Glenn Wayne? Not much other than that…read morethis stuff is the best! Glenn's Donuts has now opened (well, it's been there for several months at this point) and if you don't know about the glorious donut-ness that dwells here (or at Glenn Wayne) then you better read this review for a little more delectable donut 411. You see, Glenn Wayne Bakery is an outstanding spot in Bohemia that you can acquire plenty of delicious baked goods. Though the focal point (other than maybe the "Oops" boxes) has to be their donuts. They will put almost any other specialty donut shop to shame (Dunkin' can't even be in the same sentence). But this review isn't about GWB. We're focusing solely on that new Selden spot that features just Glenn's Donuts. The interior of this location itself is of decent size with plenty of donut options just like at the OG bakery. You'll notice different prepackaged combinations with an assortment of tasty choices as well as some non-donut baked goods. Best part is everything is made at the Glenn Wayne Bakery in Bohemia that morning and then delivered here. Plus you get the same friendly staff you'd find over at Glenn Wayne (plus maybe you'll actually see Glenn!). If there's any negative about Glenn's Donuts it would be that you just can't make your own selections. Because they aren't made in-house that would be a tough feat to uphold, but if you consider Glenn's Donuts a satellite location of the original Glenn Wayne with the same great taste, then you can't fault them for this. Overall for me, I'm close enough to the original bakery that I actually don't see myself hitting up Glenn's Donuts as often (unless I'm by my in-laws), but if you know of Glenn Wayne and do live in the Selden area, you better get your donuts because you can't go wrong with Glenn's!

Unlike its parent bakery in Bohemia, NY, where you get to individually select your donuts, you'll get the same delicious donuts prepackaged in boxes of 6 with two of each flavor. Not to worry, there are still lots of choices. AND just like the Glenn Wayne Bakery, there's more than just donuts. They offer additional baked good like cookies, fritters, coffee rolls and coffee cakes to name just a few!! There's STILL more -- gluten free options are offered as well. The donuts themselves are just , beautiful, delicious and soooooo fresh! I'm happy (though my waist won't be) to have a THIS donut shop closer to my home! The shop itself pops with its clean and welcoming ambiance. It's not big yet you will still find yourself overwhelmed with yummy goodness. You'll have to come back because you can't try it all at once. LOL! The staff is super friendly and happily answers the many questions you might have. They easily convinced us to get the extra donuts (sharing the special offer -/ see below) that we didnt know we needed. Looking for some specials or deals?! IF you buy four boxes you'll get the fifth box free. They also have Happy Hour from 5:00-6:00 pm daily. You'll note that in my pics one box is missing a donut because we couldn't wait to get home with these. We ate one in the car in the parking lot . Not sure how we were able to stop at just one!! LOL

Chana is such a sweetheart and I have been dying to try her donuts for months now! I will 100% be ordering donuts from her again! Pictured is her ube, rainbow, American dreamsicle, and tiramisu donuts! The tiramisu donut is my favorite!!! I love tiramisu cake and it taste so frickin good!!! I was so enticed by the whimsical, atypical flavors and the bright saturated colors. I finally ordered the 5 pack and chose these flavors: 'Cotton Candy', 'Strawberry Crumb', 'Chocolate Banana', 'American Dreamsicle' and 'Italian Rainbow Cookie'. I loved the way each donut was wrapped in plastic and placed so intentionally in its packaging - a sleek gold-colored box with a sticker bearing her logo (a 'C' for Chana that doubles as a donut with purple frosting on it and sprinkles). My boyfriend and I did a "tasting" together trying small ¼ pieces of each flavor. The 'Cotton Candy' (pink frosting with swirls of blue) had a subtle cotton candy flavor but was very sweet, the 'Strawberry Crumb' (bright red) was tart, delicious and one of my favorites. The 'Rainbow Italian Cookie' (covered in tiny green, red & white sprinkles) tasted just like the real cookie; so enjoyable with a pronounced almond flavor. The 'American Deamsicle' (covered in blue, red & white round sprinkles) tasted like orange and was pretty good. My absolute favorite was the 'Chocolate Banana' (a striking yellow with brown swirls), which had a more tolerable sweetness than the others. Overall, I enjoyed the donuts: the taste, the uniqueness and the colors. My only feedback is that I would like the donuts less sweet, so it is easier to eat a whole donut. I would rate Chana's Donuts 3.8 out of 5 stars, and I would definitely order again to try new flavors, or to get the 'Chocolate Banana' or 'Strawberry Crumb' flavors again :)

The Boston cream had a rich, smooth filling with the perfect chocolate glaze, and the strawberry sprinkles donut was perfectly sweet and nostalgic. What makes this place special is that it's both affordable and consistently delicious! They have all the classic flavors but also some specialty donuts if you want to try something different. The old-school ambiance gives it a real Brooklyn charm, and it feels like stepping back in time. Just remember to bring cash because it's cash only; but it's absolutely worth it.

The shop has a retro vibe reminiscent of a 1950s diner, offering a wide range of pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast options, making it a beloved local fixture for over 60 years. During a visit to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, I decided to explore the local food scene. As I researched, this donut shop kept coming up as a top favorite among locals. My daughter and I stepped inside, and it was buzzing with activity. The place had a nostalgic feel, and it's a cash-only establishment. There are so many donuts to choose from, but my daughter went with a Red Velvet, while I opted for a Sugar Raise--a classic sugar donut because it was my first time here and I wanted something simple. The donuts were decent. The Sugar Raise wasn't extraordinary, but it was fresh. I gave my daughter's Red Velvet a try, but it didn't quite hit the mark; instead of a subtle cocoa-vanilla flavor, it was pretty heavy on the chocolate. The service was friendly, and I'm glad we took the chance to visit this longstanding bakery, which has been around for more than six decades.
