    Bar burger
    Jessica C.

Stop by on Labor Day weekend. We were immediately seated. The theme for the restaurant fit the name accurately. I ordered the bar burger (I believe it's called) with fries. Our server was nice, regularly stopping by to check up on us. My burger was not the most savory burger. The flavor was dull. It was cooked well done as I asked so that was good. My favorite part of the restaurant has to be the music. They played 2010s throwbacks the entire time and as a millennial it got my table pumped up! 4 stars for the friendly service & music.

After my most recent visit I have to change my rating from 4 to 3 stars. I visited with two friends, we sat at the bar. We each put in our order for a drink and food. My salad, which had some dry veggies like leafy greens, chickpeas, tomato, barely any dressing, and a couple of grilled strips of chicken in it was 30 bucks. Completely unreasonable price, nothing on that salad dish would justify this to be that pricey, but I'll let it slide since I knew that when I ordered. My cocktail was warm (noticed the difference when I went to Castaways after and had a similar drink, and it was chilled, made all the difference!). But the real head-scratcher to us was that when we wanted to close out, we asked for separate checks for the 3 of us, and it seemed to be a real big impossible deal for the bartender. She made that VERY clear to us and almost broke down in tears and called her boss. I tried to amend the situation and said it's fine, I can just pick up the whole check. But seriously, if I go to a bar that charges 30+ bucks for food, plus $15 drinks, I'm not really looking to give people over a hundred dollars worth of a loan hoping they pay ME back. It is up to the restaurant to collect that from them. What do you do if 3 separate people show up, would you expect some stranger to pay their bill too? We only had one food item and one drink each, nothing crazy. But clearly it was a big deal to the bartender. She wouldn't let it go how outrageous our request was, even after I said I'd pay for the whole check. Won't be back.

Our waitress was patient and very friendly. We love when our server does not rush us. The chicken sandwich was fresh and crispy and the cucumber salad with falafel was fresh and delicious! Next time I want to get the giant pretzel. It looks so good on the table next to us. We went for a late Saturday lunch and there were people there, but it wasn't too noisy so we were able to have a conversation. They were decorated for Valentine's Day and it's just a really cute and cozy place to go.

Cozy, fun, small restaurant with bar. They don't take reservations but you can leave your name on wait list and get a call or text when a table is ready for you. We were lucky to snag a couple bar seats from people who were seated. Had a couple drinks at bar. Bartender was super friendly and attentive. They have a great specialty drink menu. This isn't a place to come to if you're counting calories, because just about everything is decadent or deep fried. And it's soooo worth it! We started with the sticky spicy ribs and they were so flavorful and fall off the bone juicy! Fried pickles were perfectly crisped with an awesome dipping sauce. Our dinners were all amazing! I went with the steak sandwich. Steak is marinated, tender and delicious. With cheese on garlic toast. It was so generous I could only finish half. Subbed mashed potatoes instead of fries, and they were fabulous! Creamy with a tasty brown gravy. My husband got the deep fried burito and loved it as well. We came with another couple, they also loved the food. My one friend was especially impressed by a lavender drink they had on the menu. She doesn't like tequila so asked for Tito's instead. They happily accommodated the request, and it was delicious! Generous pours on mixed drinks. My husband had a Jack & ginger that was equal parts. The way you want it! Our server was super nice and also very attentive. We were fortunate to get this cozy table that all by itself like a nook in the back of restaurant. We felt like we had our own private party. It was just luck of the draw. It's a pretty small establishment, so expect to wait. It's worth it, I promise! Can't wait to come back!

    Mediterranean platter and Buffalo wings

Came here for date night on a Thursday with no reservation and had no issue getting a table around dinner time. Quaint little bar/restaurant that has a cozy feeling to it. I wouldn't necessarily say it has a prohibition/speakeasy vibe like the name would imply, but I enjoyed the atmosphere nonetheless. Decided to have a few drinks and split some appetizers. Starting with drinks, we tried their hibiscus gin, blueberry margarita, and the smoked old fashioned. The former two were the real standouts for me and excellent refreshing summer drinks on a hot day! The old fashioned is nothing to scoff at either though, they do theirs right on a drink that's easy to screw up. Moving on to food, we split the Mediterranean platter and an order of Buffalo wings. The platter gives a nice assortment of dips and veggies that are easily shareable, but don't expect the finest Greek quality around, still tasty though. The wings though were great, good portion and the wings felt substantial, could tell they were better quality and the sauce was as quintessential buffalo as it gets, exactly what we were looking for. The rest of the menu looked good too and I'd be eager to come back to try some more items any time. Service was good, checked in on us frequently and didn't rush us either which is always appreciated. Parking can be a little difficult but there are some available lots nearby, but just make sure that you pay the meters!

Located in downtown Port Jefferson near other fun storefronts! The restaurant has lots of seating at tables and at the bar. There is happy hour every day, with deals currently for 20% of appetizers (previously 50% off) and $2 off drinks, so a great place to meet up with friends. I went with the blueberry lavender margarita which was strong and sweet. We only ordered appetizers, but they come in decent serving sizes to share. We got: Prohibition poutine - Crispy fries topped with gravy and soft cheese curds Kung pao cauliflower - delicious and flavorful cauliflower with hummus Snazzy sprouts - Brussel sprouts cooked perfectly, sweetness from syrup and honey Prohibition also had wonderful service; the server checked in on us frequently to make sure everything was good. Overall, a great place to try!

It's my second time at this very trendy spot in Port Jeff! I still can't believe how much Port Jeff has changed from the days I used to skip my Stonybrook classes and chill here. It just so happened that a friend from college now lives out in this area so I ventured out to show her the ropes but to also see what Port Jeff has been up too since I'm not in the area of Long Island all too much anymore. My first visit here was pre pandemic. A birthday dinner with a donut chicken sandwich and some drinks were enjoyed. But my most recent visit was so pleasant, I wouldn't mind coming here again and again. This spot was hopping. Yes it was a Friday night, but on a cold and rainy day in Port Jeff, the crowd could be sparse. Not here! We were lucky enough to leave our name with the host and she rang my phone as two spots opened at the bar. This spot has a vibe, with having super trendy drinks and fun menu items. This time I tried a Smokey old fashion and the empanadas. Both were amazing! The two women behind the bar ran everything so smoothly and had great suggestions. Although this isn't the Port Jeff I once knew, it is great to see a place like this still thriving.

This place is fun and vibrant even though it's pretty small! The bartender was amazing and was super nice!

    Deep Fried Burrito

The wait wasn't too long and we got the option to sit by the window which was nice since it was warm out. Our server was friendly and very attentive! We ordered the deep fried burrito and the bbq grilled. The deep fried burrito is huge but so good you'll definitely finish it, maybe. The Bbq grilled cheese was great, a nice balance and the bbq didn't over power the cheese. Will absolutely be back.

Steak and Cheese Sandwich and Mac and Cheese Bowl

My friends and I decided we wanted to eat in Port Jeff and we decided to book a reservation at Prohibition ahead of time. I have absolutely no complaints! The service was incredible, our waiter was Shannon and she was very attentive and helpful with all of our orders, including someone in my party with a nut allergy. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, and we kept talking about how great the music was. As for the food, I decided to get a mac and cheese bowl and my boyfriend ordered the steak and cheese sandwich. The mac and cheese was definitely one of my favorites that I have ever had! It was delicious and next time I come, I would definitely add some chicken cutlets to my order. My boyfriend also loved his sandwich and the entire table was completely satisfied with their meal as well, especially the fries. Thank you to Shannon again for being so kind to us even when the restaurant was full and busy due to an event in the area! Will definitely come again :)

Mehhhhhhh I heard so much hype and while my sandwich was delicious, it was not exactly what I was expecting. The Brussel sprouts had the most amazing flavor but were very undercooked and you couldn't really enjoy them. My boyfriends sandwich was a lot better than the one I had and for $95 dollars for two entrees an appetizer and a beer it was not worth it. I'd go back and try it again but not my favorite spot in Port Jefferson at all.

What an amazing place, they made our night perfect! The service was impeccable, the bus boy so attentive my husband gave him a $5 tip at the end of dinner. To start, you are served some toasted buttery like pieces of bread with hummus. I do not like hummus but my husband said it was the best he's ever had! They did bring me plain bread with homemade butter which was delicious! I chose the chicken spring rolls that came with a mango type sipping sauce as my appetizer. Outstanding, I can't say enough about how delicious the spring rolls are. Filled to the brim with a filling loaded with chicken! I was so tempted to order another serving but I wanted to save room for dinner. I absolutely will next time! Unlike many restaurants, at Fifth Season,, you can choose other side dishes if you're not happy with what your dish is served with as noted on the menu! I wanted the chicken but chose the coconut rice and organic carrots as my sides instead and I have to say, its a MUST for you to try as well. The flavor of each is so perfect, the rice is like a risotto consistency but hard to explain. Just trust me on this, over the top delicious! The chicken was very tasty and flavorful, just needed a little more sauce (that's my liking though! I love lots of extra sauce on my food), but I highly recommend trying this dish! We did not order dessert, my family wanted to get some ice cream in town but I will try dessert next time. The Fifth Season is now in the top five favorite restaurants for me! Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for a weekend to dine there again as I wouldn't make it home in time for during the week but I plan on returning very soon! This is a restaurant to absolutely add to your bucket list! I seriously can't rave enough about it!

*January 2026 Restaurant Week*…read more My wife's bestie made plans for the (4) of us to meet for dinner. We all live close so Fifth Season Restaurant was chosen. I haven't been here in a very long time so I'm excited to see how the restaurant has stayed in business over the years. We are shown to our table upstairs. The bar area on a Friday night looks fun and active. There's great views of Port Jefferson harbor so the restaurant ambiance is nice. We're seated and are given restaurant week menus as well as the wine/cocktail list. Listen, It's Friday nite and I don't want a wine cooler! Give to me a standard Martini stirred (Shaken is just dumb) with stuffed blue cheese olives. The ladies order appletini's and we're ready to order off the restaurant week menu. The menu has a nice selection of different offerings, I'm into all things local so I'm going to start with the beet salad and Red Snapper. The beet salad was loaded with beets! I love beets, they did a good job with this started dish. I must point out, the dish must have been prepped earlier in the day. The green salad was slighty wilted when served to me. The Red Snapper, what is that sauce on top? And the fish was sitting on a bunch of zoodles?? The fish wasn't seasoned, it wasn't very flavorful. I'm eating around the zoodles, meh. The cheesecake I ordered, it was also just a standard dessert. I didn't finish the fish or my dessert. Review is over, Fifth Season Restaurant? See you in another 5 years.

I went with the chickpea fries, which were very crispy on the outside and extremely creamy on the inside. It is coated in a layer of chickpea powder and then fried. It was very interesting and i'd order this again. It paired well with the harissa aioli. For my entrée, I got the beer-battered fish and chips. My fries were much thicker than everyone else's, and they also came with potato chips that tasted oily. Eat Unique Indeed…read more We were famished for something brunchy this past Sunday, and were looking at different places to go to. Went to the Watermark, parking lot was inaccessible, seems people don't know how to park over there. Even the street spaces were full. We headed further west, Flying Pig was closed down, we had been to Crazy Beans, then a quick Google search pulled up a spot we'd never heard of before. Pulled up to a strip mall where BlackSheep was located, nice big parking lot as expected. Walked in, and we were the first ones there. The place smelled fantastic. We sat ourselves and perused the menu. The server came by and enumerated the specials, but I was fixated on Braise your Belly. We also got me-mah's mac and cheese, and started off with the Roasted Garlic Northern Bean Dip and the Minestrone soup. The Bean Dip starter was fantastic. All the little things you need for a perfect bite. A scoop of bean dip on a toasted pita wedge, stick a couple of kalamata olives on the bean dip mortar (3 olives were too much), add pickled red onion and fire-roasted peppers, then top with crumbled feta. Amazing bite. I had a taste of the Minestrone, and it was excellent. Flavors were all there without being overdone. The pasta was nice and cooked just right. The mac and cheese was perfect. I couldn't put my finger on the cheeses used, but it all came together nicely. You didn't just get a mouthful of one cheese flavor. It was creamy, balanced, and the crispy onions on top made it really nice. and the stunner. I am a big fan of pork belly, and this really piqued my interest. Served with lemongrass grits and pickled veg with a soy miso glaze. The pickled veg was tossed in a bed of leafy greens, and I saw some seaweed salad in there as well. A little bite of the grits topped with the salad was amazing. I've never had that combo before. A little tart, a little salty, nice umami, I could have eaten a bowl of just that. However, when the pork belly came into play, everything changed. The crisped, lightly charred crust on the fatty slices of nirvana by themselves were perfect. Cut a piece of it and lay it on the grits-salad bite, and you can feel your eyes roll backwards. I wanted to, and almost ate it all, but I left a slice for my girlfriend and topped off her little bit of mac and cheese that she wanted to take home. Half an hour in, and the place pretty much packed out for a bit while they were doing a healthy amount of takeout/pickup orders. The place is pretty simple: interesting Black Sheep art, with mostly little tables, plasticware, and a drinks cooler. The food can certainly be right at home in a fancier and upscale setting, but doesn't need it. They had one server, and she was delightful and attentive to everyone. The chef came around and asked how everything was, which I find is always a nice touch. Definitely coming back.
