I will give this newly opened franchise DD a benefit of the doubt for its nostalgia factor. I lived in the east coast for half my life, and grew up on DD munchkins and sandwiches. They were some of the most delicious bakery goodness! I went to the grand opening today; granted, I came late, at around 4:30. Lines formed, drive-thru snaked around the back, as expected. Waited outside for 40 min under the California sun, and we were waved to go in. Yesssss!! Went in and I see those familiar racks of donuts, I was so happy! Got up to the counter, and they were very courteous. The girl ringing me up was very nice, as well as the girl grabbing my order (Bavarian Kreme, Boston Kreme, Jelly-filled, 10 munchkins-jelly/glazed, medium hot coffe, large French vanilla iced coffee). I haven't mentioned so far how chaotic the whole experience has been, but I won't get into that right now. One thing though, they had told me to stick around at the register for my iced coffee, and where did it end up? On the other end of the counter. The downside to this experience was the lack of variety that I'm used to, maybe they are pushing their most popular choices? Also, I don't like the fact they put my 3 donuts in a brown paper bag, because the chocolate frosting on my Boston Kreme had melted all over before I walked out the door. Hopefully they straighten out their game, or I don't see this place lasting very long, which is a very unfortunate thing to say to the new business. read more

Dear Owner / franchisee / Manager / faceless corporation. I stopped by tonight at 9:58 and ordered a chocolate sprinkle and 1 strawberry sprinkle doughnut. Which they were out of. Then I order 2 chocolate glazed, nope - 2 chocolate long Johns - nope - 2 glazed - nope. Was told all they had was a maple bars. I asked why are you out of all doughnuts and the response was "honestly I don't know" I replied that's fine but let your manager know I will be posting my expirience on yelp. The response was "ok have a good night" based on this I'll stick to Krispy kreme. 2 out of 4 visits here they have been out of my kids favorite doughnuts. The coffee from here was good, but hashbrowns are always cold or burnt, never enjoyed eating them and same goes for the avocado toast.

Glad to see Dunkin back in the OC. Grew up with their coffee and jelly donuts on Long Island and when the last OC location out in Huntington Beach closed in the mid to late 80s I was bummed. Was 2nd in line for the drive thru for this morning's grand opening and am happy to say the coffee and jelly donut tastes just as good out here as they did in NY! Ok... So I have had Dunkin' Donuts back East in Florida many times and they were always the BEST at ANY time of the day. I was so excited when one finally opened in So Cal near me. Laguna Hills. It was 10pm my sister and I decided to take a drive for some donuts. Now one would think for a 24 hour donut place they would have donuts... right? WRONG! We opted for a dozen anyway taking whatever they had. I mean they are Dunkin' Donuts after all. after driving home pouring that glass of milk and ready to enjoy... only to be very disappointed and disgusted. They were by all means not even close to being fresh. In fact they tasted day old. Not to mention does it make sense to have 24 hour place... with cars and a place with many customers and NO DONUTS? There were a large group of employees in the back that can be seen goofing off... instead of making fresh donuts. Unless you get your act together and stay on top of your brand you will never make it in this town. I think for now... I will stick with Krispy Kreme's and my local donut shop. . read more

I am a native East Coaster, grew up with DD, naturally I was very excited for this to open. And, bonus, it's on my way to work- I work night shift, so I had very high hopes. Unfortunately, the first couple of times I went here were a disaster. Multiple times they got my order wrong, charged me for the wrong items, or forgot items I paid for. I read in another review they tried to put donuts in a brown bag for them, they did this once to me, tried putting 2 dozen munchkins in a bag, and I told them no, they need to put in in a box (which they had!), what kind of crap is that? They also got my coffee and/or latte wrong so many times I don't know why I kept going back. Probably because my options are limited at 9-10pm at night on the way to work. But FINALLY it has gotten better. I never go to DD for the Donuts-- most East Coasters don't go for the donuts. I like their coffee and lattes. If I'm getting coffee I get a medium with 2 creams and 1 sweet and low (Yes you are supposed to tell them the amount of creams/sugars). The coffee never seems to come out as good as back east. It's inconsistent. The lattes are finally coming out right. I like the caramel latte with a turbo shot added in. The breakfast sandwiches are good. I stick to the wake-up wraps (about $1.00) and hash browns (less than a dollar!). Those two menu items are usually done right and are really good. The bagels are pretty good as well. If you are going to get donuts, I suggest just doing munchkins. read more

This is the third time I have been to this DD and why I keep coming back I don't know. The coffee is just ok and don't even get me stared on the Dounuts.... The Dounuts taste stale and are very dry. I dont think they make there own, but just glaze frozen ones. Ordered and apple fritter it had a sort of apple taste but no apple's in it at all. I paid 4 dollars for a chocolate milk and when I complained about the price to the girl at the register she just shrug her shoulders and rolled her eye's at me. I later realized that I had bought a protein drink. I feel she should have let me know that it wasn't a chocolate milk and redirected me to the right product. Today, I went to the new Dunkin' Donuts in Laguna Hills for the second time. Previously, when my wife went to pick up some donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee, she found the service to be not so good and the food so-so. I decided to give the place a second shot, since she had gone during the grand opening when things were chaotic. I was quite happy with my visit today. The veggie egg white omelette sandwich was much better than even Dunkin' Donuts on the East Coast and the donuts were quite soft and fresh. Our family likes the Boston Creme flavor, which apparently is one of their most popular varieties. Overall, everything was as expected from someone who visited several Dunkin' Donuts all over the East Coast. it was a good experience that made us happy that Dunkin' is finally in California once again. read more

Another great experience at Dunkin Donuts these guys really take care of me every time I come in here and if you've read my previous reviews I don't just give people gold medals for a poor performance. These guys are exceptional, the staff has been selected with care. I'll be doing their corporate survey and also rating them as extremely satisfied. As I've seen before with other businesses that are above and beyond the Call of Duty, these guys are going to be expanding rapidly because the product is a winner, and Everyone likes a winner. I'm just excited that I finally get to enjoy what has long Been Loved on the East Coast. Typically, I love Dunkin Donuts. Their coffee is my favorite and I enjoy their food and donuts. I've visited a number of Dunkin Donuts locations out east - Boston, NYC, etc. No complaints with those. This location, though, is exceptionally slow. I've been here many times, and when they first opened, I was willing to give them a pass because, I figured, they were still ironing out the kinks. The last few times I've gone, though, the wait in the drive thru has been very long (to the tune of over 5 minutes when I get to the window). It's a night-and-day difference compared to the DDs out east that have no choice but to crank people's orders out quickly because people are often in a hurry. So, 2 stars for this location because it's hands-down the slowest fast food place I can think of, and it's only gotten worse over time since it opened. Hopefully this feedback might spur some change/improvements. read more

Before our weekend road trip, the roomie and I decided to make a quick stop at DD since I had some Grand Opening promo flyers that I wanted to use. We had a couple free doughnut and a BOGO coffee deal that they let us combine. For the ride, we grabbed a couple of breakfast sandwiches to go since it was 1 pm and we hadn't eaten beforehand. To start, what DD is famous for, their doughnuts! A rainbow sprinkle and a chocolate glazed doughnut. The rainbow sprinkle is more like red and pink sprinkles but was very soft. The chocolate glazed was really sweet (probably more than the rainbow sprinkled) but for a once in awhile thing, it's good. Each doughnut is only $1.09 and we got both of ours for free. We also had a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase. I got a medium iced coffee which has 3 cream and 3 sugar (as per the markings on the cup). To me, it tasted watered down. I felt like the sugar crystals were causing me to have to chew and experience a crunching sensation. Was kind of weird. I probably won't order this again. Choco-latte is their chocolate iced blended drink. Tasted much better than the iced coffee, like a chocolate wonderland that keeps you cool on a hot day. There is probably a bajillion calories in this and would never order one for myself. I don't want to die young from diabetes. To eat for lunch, I got the bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. I'd order this again. The bacon had a little crunch in it. My favourite part of the sandwich was that even though the bagel was toasted, it wasn't hard to bite into. My jaw did hurt after a few bites from having to do so much chewing though. Our experience in the drive-thru was a pleasant one. Employees didn't make us feel rushed and they kept their happy tone of voice instead of annoyed (like I was expecting lol). I might come back in a few months after the hype dies down to try something else. Does American run on Dunkin? By the line, you would think so. In a few months we'll have to see how the OC'ers like it compared to the Starbucks, Peet's, Krispy Kreme, etc. read more

Sadly, I'd love to give them more-but donuts are my thing and I really do want them to improve I'm just not sure they can with the recipes they're working with. Meh, I went here today and I had much better donuts at Ralph's, even the packaged ones were better. I got the 12 dozen special plus a sandwich. I was there at 1230pm on 12/29/15. At 1235, I see "terry" rub his nose with his finger. Then watch this guy handle all sorts of items. At 1242 pm, after another employee washes his hands which prompts "terry" to wash his hands. I hope no one gets sick. Where is my sandwich? Oh, the kid making it must have eaten it or they focus all their attention on the drive through. I get my sandwich made and the shift supervisor did apologize for the delay and gave me 2 free coffee coupons + two save $2 off one dozen coupons, all 4 of these coupons expire on 12/31/15 so I guess I should be thankful. I drive off and I asked for no honey mustard sauce on the sandwich but they added it anyway and the donuts were stale. Check the video tapes and you can see your employee "terry" rub his nose and prepare food. Never coming back here again! read more

They gave me the sandwich with an egg in it?! Came back in t change the order. They have nothing t give me in exchange?!! They told me to come back another time for the replacement. Having been to Dunkin' in several other states, we were VERY excited that one opened in Laguna Hills. It was the FIRST south county Dunkin' and we frequently bought dozens at a time. We noticed two interesting issues: 1) When 2-3 donuts are purchased, they stack them on top of each other in a bag. On most days, chocolate frosting from one donut transfers to other donuts in the same bag. Krispy Kreme gets around this by putting chocolate frosted donuts in a box rather than a bag. 2) This one is recent as of January 2020 - we purchased a Boston Cream donut. It was at least 20% less in size that my previous purchase. This was a noticeable change for no reduction in price. While we are not turning away from Dunkin' we are thinking twice about stopping for smaller donuts at the same price. read more

Went Opening Day...was a 1.5 hour wait so I Left. Went today at 11am. Did drive through. Only 3 cars in front of me. Ordered 2 glazed donuts one Large REGULAR Coffee. Took 25 minutes from entering drive thru to leave. Donuts were not fresh !!! Coffee was Ok. Hopefully they will become more efficient as time goes on. My next visit I will go inside the shop. Been here twice, first time they gave me a mushed up sandwhich, second time they got my order wrong twice then gave me the sandwhich with a frozen cheese on it. This Dunkin' Donuts is located next to the JoAnn with a low ceiling. There were a lot of people due to it being donut day, and they had an advertisement outside for a free donut after buying a drink. There were 2 cashiers but about 8 customers in the line at the time, so it didn't go very quickly. However, after the order was put in, the drink came out almost instantaneously, so they're fast there. The location has outlets on the bottom of the seats for one to plug into. read more

I have ordered a bagel with cream cheese a few times from this location. The first time I thought it was just the person being lazy and not wanting to make an effort of putting cream cheese on the bagel. But literally every time it's like they are just cleaning off the extra cream cheese from the knife on the bagel. I finally asked for extra cream cheese and they wanted an extra $1.40....really? Very friendly staff and one of the nicest looking donut shops around. The food was great and came out quick and hot. I tried one of the bagel sandwiches with egg and bacon, and it was very tasty. One thing that really impressed me was the way they are managing the overflow parking right now. I went to the gym across the parking lot last night and as I was leaving, the line of cars waiting in the drive through was backed up so far it was blocking me in. I walked over to my car and a DD employee who was already out there directing traffic politely asked me if I was leaving now and said he would "clear some space for me", which he did. Came here around 2:30pm on opening day. Huge line. Waited in drive-thru for about 30 mins. Ordered: 2 donuts (for a friend so I can't review those) and an iced cookie dough swirl latte with almond milk..way too sweet, but really good. I will get less syrup next time. Service: I will give them the benefit of the doubt bc it's opening day, but dear heavens, were these people even trained?! Poor teenage boy taking my order just said, "ok." When I was done ordering. "Ok"?? Umm how about my order total, thank you, drive up to the window??? Anything?? It was awkward. Girl at window (megan) was super nice, helpful and told me about the DD perks program. They need a LOT of help in the customer service area. Have to say very disappointed in this one. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, hashbrowns large coffee and a donut. I was given half a bag/6 pieces of hashbrowns. I showed the cashier thinking it was an oversight and she replied that is their portion size. When I asked her if I was only going to get half a cup of coffee in my large cup she gave me a blank look. Everything else was ok but not as good as other ones i have been to.
