I promise I'm not a hater lol but after giving Dunkin' multiple tries, I just can't seem to like it. For me the coffee tends to be really sweet. If that's your vibe, you might love it here! I think the issue for me is the espresso itself. I've tried switching things up plenty of times like adding extra shots, adjusting the sweetness, trying different combinations and I haven't found the one that clicks for me. That said, I will say the black iced coffee or cold brew is pretty decent. It's not my first coffee stop, but if I'm looking for something simple and keto friendly, I'd consider it. One thing I do really like is the cup sizes. You definitely get a lot of coffee for what you order, and I wish I loved the taste because the portion sizes are huge. Another positive is the service every time I've gone, the staff has been friendly and I've never had an issue. That alone goes a long way for me and is a big reason I'm still giving it 3 stars. The people working here lies straight to your face and are just plain rude!! Maybe not all, but at least two of those I've encountered here this morning were. Early this morning, I drove to this drive-thru to get donuts and coffee for my team. I ordered a dozen donuts with half of it glazed and the rest just an assortment. Once I paid, I took the coffee and box of donuts and checked what I got. To my surprise it was only 2 glazed donuts and the rest were assortment. When I said that I ordered half glazed and half assortment, the guy working the counter smiled and said that he's sorry because they don't have any glazed anymore. This was at 7 in the morning on a Saturday. In disbelief, I asked again and he said that they don't have glazed anymore. I drove away disappointed and kind of irritated because he didn't even asked if I could park and wait so they can get the order right. Went to Dunkin' on Saturday 10am. The drive thru was long but inside the store had no wait in line with faster service. The store inside was very spacious and had cute donut themed interior decoration with delicious smell of fresh donuts! What I really liked about this location is that their donuts were actually on a speed baking racks where customers can see and pick in choose fresh donuts right off the baking racks and had labels of the each donut. I came here with friend of mine and we ordered Boston Kreme. We thought the fruit punch flavored donut was unique so we also got that. I've been to this location a few times now, and while I really wanted to love it, I've had more misses than hits. That said, I truly hope this feedback helps them improve, because there are some great things here. On the positive side, the drinks and savory items have been consistently good--I'd definitely come back just for those. They've been fresh, flavorful, and reliably satisfying. However, there are a few areas that could use some attention. On separate visits, I've noticed the staff joking and using profanity out loud at the front counter--it seems lighthearted between them, but it might be better suited for the back or during break time. I also had one experience where I noticed gnats on the donuts, which was off-putting. I almost walked out, but went through with my order. Finally, the donuts themselves tend to be stale more often than not, which is disappointing. I really think this place has potential. I've been to Dunkin at the JFK airport, Oakland, Mira Mesa, and National City. By far, this location has been the best of the 4. I usually order ahead with the Dunkin' Donuts IOS app and always get my drink order on time. I recommend ordering ahead 5-10 minutes before arriving and picking up in the drive thru. The line is usually 3-5 cars long throughout the day but can extend out to the street before 9am and around lunch time. I really like the drive-thru customer service and prefer it over the café service. It seems like this location puts higher priority on their drive thru and mobile orders. I have no idea how this location passes health food regulations. When we walked in there were 3 dogs not on a leash walking around. I don't think tables inside or out have been cleaned like ever .. One very large dog . And 3 homeless people who appeared to be living in there with their dogs. As I was ordering food for my family the big dog shook and its hair and dirt were fling around everywhere. The other dogs were eating something on the ground and it was getting everywhere. The food i ordered came all wrong. Yes they made it right and gave the right things. But it wasn't hot. Wasn't cooked. The avocado toast is awful. Dunkin is a big name. Random drive by in National City. I have been on this search for these "Strawberry Ghost Pepper" Frosted Donuts which have been sold out at every time at 2 Dunkin' Donuts at other sites in SD. This location in particular has a sign visible from the highway exit but is kinda tricky to navigate to. Rather then use the drive thru option we decided to enter and pick up. The location is clean, stocked well and organized. The staff though is the gem of the operation here! My cashier which I regret to forget her name was friendly, engaging and efficient.
