I love Dunkin' Donuts and I live right near this one but it has got to be the worst location in terms of service. They are often completely out of donuts hours before they close. The workers seem so unhappy and they often tell anyone in line to order using the machine because they are not available to help. This is not helpful when you have questions or you want certain donut holes for example. I really hope this location can improve their service because it creates a negative view of Dunkin and I love their donuts! read more

Santa Monica runs on Dunkin'! Great location. Both indoor and outdoor seating. ATM inside. I live close by and come here every now and then to get a cream cheese bagel. The line goes quickly and the employees here are nice. They don't have a drive through window here, and parking can be difficult to find. I don't know what to say about this Dunkin. It's a Dunkin. They sell donuts, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. There's no free parking (that I'm aware of), but there are usually metered spots open close enough near-by that it isn't too much of a hassle. They don't have a drive-through at this location, which is a bummer. So you will have to go inside. Everything you'd expect from a Dunkin you'll find it here. So why only 2 stars? Normally I'd easily give a Dunkin 3 or 4 stars. Well, it comes down to customer service. EVERY TIME I have gone to this Dunkin Donuts, I've always been helped by the same employee. And EVERY TIME he's been a total jerk. Now, NORMALLY I would chalk this up someone having a bad day, and I wouldn't include it in a review. But it happens EVERY TIME. It's always the same person, and they're ALWAYS rude. Now I don't mean they openly insult me, or are yelling at me, or call me names, or anything as overt as that. They just have a really bad attitude. They act impatient when I'm ordering, they don't answer questions, they get frustrated if I ask for a donut they don't have. I stopped in for a quick iced tea after Great Labels. The price was good, and the service was friendly. We don't really have these in Northern California so I don't know much of the chain other than a friend of mine used to swear by their coffee. I'm gluten and dairy free so I'm definitely not their target audience, but I ordered the drink after calling my Lyft and it was both made and drank before the car came to pick me up for the next shop - so I appreciated the brevity. I love how this place always has a positive vibe. While I was here with my husband we appreciated how the staff efficiently worked through an order rush (mobile and in person), then in the end complimented/encouraged each other: the girl announced an order that was ready then she said "Good job team!" That's really great because we go to Starbucks too but they never encourage each other, though I've heard their staff complain and talk shit about fellow staff mates who aren't there...so, indeed, I think your team at this location does an AMAZING jobeveryone here needs a raise STAT!!!! For real though I've also come here before when I didn't have money, yet they treated me with respect and dignity. Very rare in businesses these days, never goes unnoticed. Thank you. Today I stopped to get two dozen donuts. I decided to also order a cup of coffee because I thought it would be easy to get. After all, all they had to do was pour the coffee into the cup and had it to me. After getting my donuts I waited for my coffee for at least 5 minutes. So, I asked the not so friendly lady behind the pick up area if I could have my cup of coffee and take off. She replied that they were working as fast as they could and that I had to wait my turn. She was doing nothing except pealing labels of cup and re sticking them on. Then after a few minutes she said to me. Your cup of coffee it's going to take about 15 more minutes because we are now making a new pot of coffee. That's when I said to her to keep the coffee. I don't drink coffee - however, I'm actually posting a review of this location, because after a few visits, mainly because one of my friends grew up in Chicago - and grew up on Dunkin' Donuts - I'm commenting on the service. Each time (2), I had a smoothie. They're fine. Not so great I'd drive to Santa Monica just for it - but decent enough that I ordered it again, when I was here the other day. Each time though (2), service was pretty bad. This time around - after paying for my order, the cashier just looks at me while I'm waiting for my change like I'm the one with an problem. When I ask for my change and show her my receipt, it was as if I was burdening her, due to her mistake. No apology. Just all attitude as she did what she had to do to complete the transaction. Then, I went over to the pick up counter and I asked for the restroom key code and let the employee there know, that I would be going to wash my hands. I had barely finished and closed the door and I can hear the employee yelling out my number. Again, with attitude. Probably because I didn't respond immediately. Now, I understand she sees lots of people and probably didn't remember me letting her know I'd be right back - so that's not my issue. My issue is the attitude of not just one, but two of the employees I encountered there. The attitude from the second person was sharp enough that as I approached the counter, I could hear other customers, who were waiting on their drinks, trying to explain that I was on my way. I've had many conversations with people about my feelings towards the decline of customer service these days. My experiences with DD, specifically at this location, only reinforce those feelings. read more

This fatso remembers how awesome this chain was during his days on the East Coast. How their coolattas would keep him chill during the dog days of summer with 100% humidity. How their steaming cup of large black hazelnut coffee would keep him warm during those bitter winters where the cold seeps through the earmuffs. Anyway, this place is a Hollywood-ized version of the East Coast shops. Brand-new flat screen TV menus, cool lounge chairs with cushions. But do they still live true to their namesake from Beantown? Yes, they do. We got the half dozen (including Boston Cream, maple cream, Bavarian cream) as well as a large black hazelnut coffee. Well, at least, that's what I ordered. They were frantically trying to fill the orders and poured a regular black coffee for me. The Boston cream was THE BOMB. This was an excellent pillowy soft donut, with a not-too-sweet chocolate coating, filled with their signature custard. My better half liked the maple cream - crunchy, sweet maple glaze on the surface of the donut sealed the deal. Welcome to the WEST Coast DD! My first experience at DD was in NYC years ago. I remembered how SWEET it was then and didn't care for them much then. Thought to give it a try and I don't remember them being too sweet from what I remembered. We were out and about early this morning and picked up some donuts from down the street (not gunna mention name) for my daughter's Key Club Fundraiser. While we were leaving that location,we decided to stop by DD. They weren't crazy busy but enough people to keep everyone busy! It doesn't matter what flavor your get. ALL the donuts has it's unique flavor and texture. In our family, we like to share. We always half the donuts in fours so that we get to taste all the flavors and this is what we shared. Bluberry Cake - This really does remind me of a cake without the frosting. I enjoyed the creamy, blueberry flavor. It was slightly glazed that didn't over power the flavor of the donut. This next one reminds me of Homer, Strawberry Frosted Donut. First of all, it's so pretty eat. It's strawberry flavored glaze on top with sprinkles. Very pink vibrant color dounut that just makes you want to dance. I enjoyed the strawberry flavor in the glaze. The Bavarian Kreme & Vanilla Kreme similar except the Vanilla was villed with a lighter cream. The Bavarian cream is a light vanilla pudding in the center and dusted with confectioners sugar. I thought it was going to be rich and dense but instead light and fluffy. Very easy to eat. Oreo Cheesecake Square Donut was decadent. Very interesting & delightful. Definitely richer. Really taste like dessert. Very light and fluffy just like the Bavarian Kreme. The donut is square, cheesecake frosted on top and sprinkled with finely crushed Oreo cookies on top. Filled with more cream cheese. I also had a small coffee with cream & sugar to help wash it down! So next time you go to a bakery or donut shop with your loved ones, remember to share! OK OK OK east coasters. Don't kill me for this... I went to the grand opening on 9/2 early in the morning. I spent 2 hours and 45 minutes in line so I could pick up donuts and coffee for my east coast bosses. I was hot, sweating and exhausted before I got to work. For a grand opening, they did very little to plan things out with TWO registers ringing up customers. THAT IS INSANE. Also, they let people buy no-limit, which is ridiculous and takes forever.
