I stopped by Randy's Donuts before an early morning shoot in Santa Monica. I was actually searching for a breakfast burrito, but everything nearby seemed closed, so I figured I'd settle for a donut and coffee. As I was about to pay for a glazed buttermilk donut and coffee, I asked if they had anything savory. The employee mentioned they had several breakfast items, so I ordered the bacon and egg burrito, which sounded like exactly what I was craving. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The burrito came out piping hot, but it was obvious it had been reheated rather than freshly made. It tasted like it had been microwaved, which isn't something I personally enjoy. I prefer food made fresh whenever possible. The donut was also disappointing. It didn't taste fresh and seemed stale, as if it had been sitting around for at least a day. I was happy to discover they offered savory breakfast options, but the quality didn't meet my expectations. Between the reheated burrito and stale donut, this wasn't a breakfast experience I'd repeat. Sadly, I don't see myself returning. read more

The Santa Monica Randy's has been around for a long time, and I've stopped in more than a few times over the years -- it's always a fun, iconic spot to visit. The slightly smaller giant donut out front never stops being charming, and having its own parking lot is a huge bonus on busy Wilshire Blvd. The customer service here is consistently excellent. Everyone is friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful, which is exactly what you need when you're staring at a case full of donuts and trying to narrow down your choices. My longtime favorite is the bacon maple Long John -- sweet, salty, soft, and just ridiculously good every single time. The iced coffee was strong and smooth, a perfect match for something sweet. I was excited to bring a friend from out of town to this location, but unfortunately we were met with an incredibly unpleasant experience. The employee closing the shop on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 was unnecessarily passive aggressive from the moment we walked in. When we asked about which donuts were still available, he told us the store was closed (when we were there 15 minutes before closing), rolled his eyes, and acted irritated that we were there. He then proceeded to make rude comments, some of which he even admitted were offensive. What kind of person would do this? The entire exchange felt loaded, dismissive, and inappropriate. My first time coming here was met with some unfortunate experiences. As we came in we were greeted and took our time looking at all the various choices as one does in a donut shop. We noticed that some of the signs were either mismatched or not there entirely so it made it a bit of a guessing game as to what we were ordering. The employee while nice at the start started rushing us and proceeding to walk away to the register while we were still ordering. Making us repeat what we were saying for him to hear. We would understand if there was a large line and we were taking too much time but the store was empty other than us. Some of the worst donuts I've ever had. My first time here. The original Randy's near LAX was good, but that was about 8 years ago. I bought 5 different donuts the other day at this SM location which opened about 4 yrs ago. Each donut was dry and tasted old and it was only 10:30 in morning! I wasn't going to waste my time returning $12 worth of high priced donuts. I guess Randy's franchising and expansion to multiple locations after the buyout is not translating well. There are much better shops in SM, some close by. Maybe Randy and Bludso should meet and compare notes. They're both hoping that the tourist dollar will prevail. read more

What's not to love about Randy's?? Fresh, quality ingredients, great variety, private parking lot and open til 8pm?! I came in close to 7pm. All the remaining doughnuts were already on racks behind the counter. The employee was laid back and helpful with my order. I needed a dozen for work. Thank God they had the celebrant's favorite, Maple Long John but I had to buy the pricier Premium $3.75 doughnuts to add color to the box. Anything pink or cherry flavored for $2.75 or less was sold out. My favorites are the Apple Fritter and Bear Claw. Didn't notice any vegan or gluten free options. And $2 off a dozen! Omg yum these donuts were fantastic! I especially loved the glazed original it was so good fluffy and doughy without being overly sweet sugar bomb. Reminds me of Krispy Kreme but less sugary which I liked. Their crumb biscoff raised was also fantastic! Prices were great 2 donuts for 5.15 is hard to beat! Tables both in and outside for sitting. Not the best Randy's location, it's still a pretty solid donut and it's nice to give money to a local business as opposed to a big national chain. It's quite large inside compared to other Randy's locations (let alone the average donut shop), and it's got some nice outdoor seating. Service, like any donut shop where the donuts are premade, is quick. read more

Absolutely love this place! My office team loves the donuts, so for a colleague's birthday, I ordered two boxes of donuts (2 dozen). Well, when they got delivered, they only sent 1 dozen. I called to explain the situation and they immediately fixed the issue. No fighting, no arguing, no need for back and forth. They realized they made the error and fixed it immediately. They credited my account for the second box but also sent a half dozen of the large donuts as a kind gesture. It really was unnecessary to send the half dozen, as I understand mistakes happen, but this really shows the amazing customer service they practice! Thank you again! At 6:15 AM the donuts were not fresh. I've taken my kids to this location a dozen times in the last year and unfortunately the donuts consistently are not fresh because they are made offsite. This morning I ordered the breakfast burrito and sausage muffin, which were new to the menu. The quality is the same as any mass produced product that gets reheated at the store - like the Starbucks egg wrap. I will never order those again. The tortilla and English muffin were both stale. Very disappointed overall that the new stores don't honor the experience of the original location, which was a focus on freshness. Corners were cut and it appears the focus is more on brand recognition than quality. I wish the leadership team well and would love to see a return to the qualities that Randy's was always associated with that appear to be in the rearview mirror. read more

This is my go to Randy's location. It does not get as busy like the original Inglewood location. The only time that there was a longer than usual line was on Super Bowl Sunday because of their special Rams donuts. My 5 star favorites are the Chocolate Raised, Chocolate Twist, Butter Crumb Raised, and Apple Fritter. They're all popular and classic flavors that do not disappoint, and they always satisfy my donut cravings. The service (3 stars) is hit or miss. Sometimes they seem understaffed and less friendly to customers. Then, there are other times when the line moves quickly with an eagerness to help. It's a good donut spot to get yourself a donut or a box to share. read more

I don't know what happened to the other workers they were much nicer and helpful and never burn food. He did it two times and the manager was not helpful and never gave me a new batch just a receipt. My friends took me here after celebrating my birthday at a restaurant because they know I like the M&M raised donut here which I go most of the time to their Burbank location. We came like an hour before they were closing so we found parking just fine in the back but be aware that parking is limited here. When we walked inside, I didn't see M&M raised donut on the display so I asked the guy working and he told me they won't have a lot of donut so what I see is what they got. I ended up picking the regular glazed donut and also ordered a large iced spicy chai latte for my wife. While I was waiting for the drink to come out, I went to use the bathroom which you need a code to get inside. Once I came out, I saw my drink was done but it was the medium size. I checked the receipt and I couldn't tell if I paid for the medium or large because it just said the cup size. I just left it as is and went outside to eat my donut with my friends in their outside patio. The glazed donut was fine to me but I would've prefer the M&M Raised donut. If you sit outside, you'll most likely going to see homeless people walking around or sitting in the patio or just the screaming so be aware. read more

The fluffiness of the dough and the flavor of the chocolate icing on the chocolate razed, can't be beat!!!! It's so delicious. While visiting L.A. for the first time and driving around, I noticed there were a lot of mom-and-pop donut shops, and they were actually open in the afternoon and evening. In Chicagoland, only Dunkin seems to be open late, and those are not very good donuts. The gourmet donut shops close by noon or 1 pm. We ordered a pink sprinkled donut for my son, a Nutella donut, and a coconut donut. Prices were $2.25, $3.75, and $2.75, respectively; more expensive than Dunkin or grocery store donuts, but these were huge. You get a lot of donut for the money. All were yeast/raised donuts. The donuts were all pretty good, but a bit on the greasy side. And because there was so much dough, the dough flavor actually diminished the flavor of the toppings. Thus, the Nutella and coconut flavors weren't as strong as I would have liked. But not bad donuts overall. read more

Beginning of December, wanted to bring some donuts to work for special occasion and chose Randy's as it was on the way, and seemed a bit more special than Dunkin'. Ordered online the day before, that way I won't hold up the line for morning rush with my 4 dozens of donuts. Arrived about 5 minutes later than scheduled pick up time (LA Traffic), the associate was helping one guy, answering some questions. One person was ahead of me. Now I am all for friendly service, but when people are waiting, please keep the chit chat to minimal. Not until there was a another person (or was that 2?) behind me, the associate start to wrap things up with the first person. My order was not ready, and there was like 3, 4 other slips with my online print out. By the time the associate finish packing with my order, the line was out the door and down the ramp. I understand the associate could be the only one working and not able to pack them ahead. Just wished I did not contribute to the long wait for others. Finally gave this location a try and i have to say its my favorite despite being smaller compared to other locations! Came in on a Thursday morning and they were surprisingly busy around 10am.
