Taro donuts made fresh to order! Walked here after dinner in Santa Monica. Ordered one Original Sin for $4.50. The donut was on the smaller side, but was so tasty and served hot. The dough was more airy compared to regular donuts. Definitely want to come back and try their other flavors! I tried these donuts in Hawaii before, but didn't remember them being as good there! Had to wait a few minutes since they are made to order, so be prepared to wait. There's tables inside to eat.

We're already planning to go back this weekend -- that's how good it is! The server was super friendly and patient, helping us pick the perfect donuts and our latte/iced coffees. The shop was cute with a chill, modern vibe -- definitely a nice spot to relax for a bit. We ordered the tasting box of 4 for $16, which was worth it overall. The only downside was the chocolate donut -- it tasted a little like chalk -- but the other flavors made up for it. You do have to pay for parking, but honestly, it's still worth the trip. -- Lori & Monica

Three words : The wild Guava. These are cake donuts but made fresh when you order them (literally) they fry them on site. I ordered the wild guava it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. My only issue is I ordered one donut and not two. 20/10 I will be visiting to try other flavors.

After dining at Thai Vegan and Sushi Vegan, my friends and I stopped at Holey Grail for a sweet treat. I had Holey Grail for the first time in Oahu years ago and was so impressed that I brought their donuts home on my flight back to CA for my family. I've since had Holey Grail again at their farmers market truck, and now their Santa Monica location. Guava is one of my favorite flavors, so I was super excited to see Guava as a seasonal flavor. I was super disappointed by the barely noticeable guava flavor. I ordered it without Bee Pollen to make it vegan. I love that the donuts are made fresh to order and that they have vegan options & vegan modifications available. My friends loved their donuts! So even though I was disappointed by my flavor choice, I'd still have these donuts again because the other flavors I've had were delicious. The service was quick, considering they make each donut fresh to order! The bathroom inside was out of order. There was plenty of indoor seating!

What We Ordered: -Tropical Swirl $4.50 -Original Sin $4.50 -Hail Mary $4.50 We came to Holey Grail by chance. I had Holey Grail on my Must Visit Donut Shops list. We were walking toward Heavy Handed for some Smash burgers. My wife happened to mention that she was craving donuts. I kid you not. We come across Holey Grail mere minutes later. Fate indeed! We were summoned by the Donut Gods! These donuts are on the pricer side, but they are made from taro which makes these donuts very unique. All donuts are made to order right in front of you. How cool is that! You can expect to wait a while especially if there's a line. I got the Original Sin. It is one of the donuts that will never leave the menu. It's Holey Grail's version of the Glazed Donut. it had a nice chew to it. It was nice and crispy on the outside. It was gooey in the inside. It was the perfect donut! I highly recommend this one! The donuts are quite small for the price, but you are paying for the quality. These donuts are cooked in organic coconut oil as well. We will definitely be back!

The donuts here are AMAZING!!! My first time trying and I am obsessed with their donuts! Mind you I don't eat donuts but it's very rare when I do and it's a pleasure when it's good! I tried the original sin! And OMGEE!! It's so good!! Very moist, good amount of sweetness, and made to perfection. All the donuts are made from scratch and fresh as you order. The service is good and they are patient! Very good clean store! And nice ambiance to sit down and eat. They also have lattes, that I would want to try next time! I will be back! The storyline of the process of their donuts is epic ! Very good quality of donuts and not overwhelming for size. -Marshay D.

10/10 for service, experience and service. I wanted a late night dessert and this spot was open. I tried their hot single, pumpkin spice and crunchy chocolate. Made to order so they are warm and fresh All 3 the perfect out of sweet, they weren't big fairly small but enough to kick the crave. what I wished they had was milk, they do have coffee which was actually really good with the doughnuts. Great customer service too.

Made to order donuts! We walked to this location but parking looked to be street parking. There was plenty of outside seating and a few tables inside. Each donut is made to order so they come hot and fresh! We got a two of the same so we could all try. They were yumm. Something to check out if you're on the area :)

Gluten free donut holes! The glazed was delicious. I also got an iced chocolate latte and it was soooo good. Like a chocolate milk with espresso. Next time I would definitely get naked so I'm not on a sugar rush first thing in the morning. They have merch for sale and some seating inside but you can also go outside from the back for additional outdoor seating.

The donuts are made fresh to order! The service is fast. Most options are 100% vegan which I love! The chocolate milk is made with macadamia nut milk which is so rich. Original sin is the best flavor!

Always looking for a guilt-free treat (or at least the most possibly guilt free, haha) that's actually delicious. Holey Grail donuts inside the Santa Monica promenade were pretty damn close. They make the donuts fresh on the spot with amazing ingredients and friend in Fera Fruit oil instead of peanut, canola or vegetable oil. The staff were sweet and the cafe was well maintained. I'll have to try a latte next time!

    Wild Guava and Reincarnated
    Keesha F.

I tried the Wild Guava and the Reincarnated. They were okay taste wise but I guess I was thinking the flavor would come from the dough as well as the topping. In my case the guava and maple flavor came from the glaze and the cake part itself tasted the same in both donuts. I was also disappointed because I bought 2 donuts before I went in the movies and assumed they'd be good to eat after the movie was over and that was a mistake! When I opened the box to eat it later they were inedible because they were super greasy! I don't know if you're supposed to eat them right away or if it was an error by the person who made them but they were literally sitting in a small puddle of grease.

THE BEST DONUT PLACE PERIODDDDDD Holey Grail is my favorite donut place of all time. Made from Taro and with such unique flavors~ I can eat so so many of these donuts and never get tired of them. My favorite is always anything with passion fruit- a perfect level of sweetness! They change their flavors every so often and I love every single one of them. It's about $4.50 a donut, and although it made seem small in size, it's like just the right amount! Such friendly staff and always good vibes. Parking is super easy around here in Ocean park, usually metered or in the back lots.

It's located along the boardwalk at the beginning of the pier. Literally right at the base of it. Of course with the patio seating, that's the best seat in town. I guess even with a restaurant they carded people and stamped their hand for alcohol. Patio was open seating with wooden tables and umbrellas. There was two bar on the patio. Majority of the seating were outdoor. Later found out that there's a nice beer garden out back where the restroom was but it wasn't open. Staff were all friendly which is nice. It's a casual beachside cafe. Menu had your usual food, easy eats. Started off with a nice cold one which we were surprised when they brought it out. It was massive. Food, your usual beachside menu. When we were there it seemed more like holiday makers versus the locals. We had a nice experience for our first time and the service was great. Staff were all friendly and sweet. Super friendly. You do not wait for a table you seat yourself. Someone will come with a two sided menu. Now on to the food. The food is decent. Not over the top. Pricing is about $10-$20 depending what you order. We got the salad without feta cheese with ranch, which was ok. The clam chowder that I've seen raved about I was disappointed as it did not come in a bread bowl. But it wasn't bad. Fries were the perfect mixture of crispy and soft. The magi mahi sandwich was good. I bet they got a lot of dine and dashers previously because they take your credit card up front. So don't be surprised when they ask you for it.
