Now that the excitement of the first SoCal DD has subsided, this place deserves the 5 stars. Fast friendly service every visit thus far

It's been awesome having DD close to my apartment. However, once the nostalgia faded away I was left realizing that even though DD is great, this particular location is not. The floors are dirty and unfortunately the staff isn't super friendly. I used to pick up donuts here for meetings or grab coffee for myself. With every visit the place seems to get messier. I'll stick with DK donuts on Wilshire. read more

Anyone from the east coast knows Dunkin coffee rules...and 20 oz is only a little over two bucks.

We dropped by around 6pm on a Sunday evening. The line was not as long as I had expected outside to about the last glass window. The whole DD experience took about an hour and 45 minutes. For the most part staff were really friendly. There seemed to be disorganization in the service. Cashier not knowledgeable of the combos and their shift leader was not leading her staff. At one point the shift leader ranted about the bathroom and took 2 employees from the floor to make it a point to check out the mess the last patron made in the ladies room. Yes, customers are watching. Also, there wasn't a constant 2nd person at the register. It wasn't like clockwork like you would see at In-N-Out. People taking orders and people satisfying those order like it was a one constant process. There was a lot of standing around in the back and a lot of small talks even by management. Other than that drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and donuts met our expectations. Big props to Jonnas (sorry if I misspelled your name). She was super friendly and kept the family entertained and gave suggestions while they waited patiently outside the entrance. Thanks for the tip! We enjoyed those Spicy Sausage Sandwiches with our donuts and drinks. My wife kept talking about how good they were the entire ride home. It's nice to see Dunkin back in LA but this store needs help already. I ordered a cup of coffee at 5:30am and waited 10 minutes. Really? Not to mention the coffee was warm not hot. Like everyone else I was excited about this location opening up (not excited enough to wait 2 hours on opening day, what's wrong with you people?) I walked here from the promenade and got some donut holes and EW. They were so incredibly dry! Like eating little cotton balls. I got three kinds so and tried them all because I thought maybe the other one was just a bad batch-NOPE. I mean I guess you guys have good coffee but after that experience I don't know if I really even want to try a regular donut now.. read more

Long wait, but that's to be expected for opening week. Many passers by smirked, took photos and asked those of us in line what the big deal was about DD. Ok, so the donuts might not be THE best, but for East Coast natives like myself, it's just nice to have a taste of home. I hope this place continues to do well even when the hype dies down. read more

Bostonian here. The dunks here is just like the east coast in quality, which to the Bostonian trained tongue means awesome. The downside of having only one location here, instead of side by side like on the east coast, means spending tons of time circling blocks looking for parking. But it's worth it. The best thing about this Dunks, and the reason for this review, is that the staff is outstanding. They are incredibly nice, hardworking and go out of their way to give the best customer service. I was really impressed by the staff and would come again and again. Out of nostalgia, I would normally knock off a star for the lack of Bostonian accent, but they're just too nice here. read more

this place is turning disgusting...there's a pet store a few doors down and they share the same venting system as dunkin donuts so there's dog hair probably flying into your food. if you're allergic you can probably smell the dog air/odor in the air. people who work there probably can't smell it anymore. but at the same time, the employees are not required to keep their uniforms clean or their pants pulled up. this is really a bad situation going on here. read more

Okay people let's sit down and have a cup of coffee and a donut. What we need to discuss is just that. First this is a new store and yes there are bound to be obstacles as they move forward and get their routine down. To expect them to be perfect as the doors open, well your expectations are just a little too high and remember this is not a new Neiman - Marcus store and if it was your point would be valid, but again if your eating here and complaining then I'm going to guess you don't shop at Neimans very often. What really is a contradiction is that some on here that we know are complaining about not only customer service but also the wait to get in and how they just left because it was just so slow and unorganized! Again, give them a chance to get it flowing, but what kills me is these same people are people that complain about GMO's and processed food and god forbid a microwave is used and your in line for a donut!! Seriously! It's a donut people and a pretty darn good one at that! For those of you like myself that were born here it's a nice welcome back and best wishes as we know the true California's and Los Angelenos appreciate you and for that once in a blue moon experience your my splurge. Give them a chance to pull it together as it is not as described. I was really looking forward to trying the first Los Angeles branch of dunkin donuts. I live close by so I waited two weeks after the opening to finally go. When I got there, the line was short but I was quickly informed by a sales associate that the oven was broken (really?!) and there was only a couple donuts left. This was at 9 pm, still two hours until closing. I've heard from multiple people that the donuts served at this location are mediocre anyways. I highly suggest going to DK donuts down the street instead. read more

I'm giving it a two star for the quality of the products. I'm a Dunkin Donut fan. Wherever I see a Dunkin Donut I have to stop the car and get my Dunkin. Today's visit was probably not a good day for the employees. All the employee that I encounter from the cashier, donut server and the barista were very rude and arrogant. They were all looking me in the eye like I'm one homeless person. One employee even told me, 'Ma'am, please don't cross the line (what line?) when I was choosing my donuts. Overall, I just wish the owner would hire more decent, professional, customer oriented employees. read more

I got to DD this morning at 7:25am. There were about 30 people ahead of me, I was just outside the door. I was in and out in 15 minutes with my munchkins and donuts in hand. The staff was really friendly - the shift manager Avi helped me and she was great! The staff moved people through the line very quickly and although I didn't order anything hot, I noticed people were getting their breakfast sandwiches right away. The shelves were fully stocked (dare I say overflowing for some selections) and everything seemed to be in working order. Not sure if they just needed a few weeks to work out the kinks but I had a great experience today! 1st of I have had Dunkin Donuts in Honduras when I was a kid. I tasted a donut from Dunkin Donuts in 2010 when i went to New York City. I can say that i am happy to see a Dunkin Donuts here in California. I dont have to worry about bringing a dozen and carry on the plane from Chicago. Finally, Dunkin has moved out to LA! First I should say that I grew up on this stuff in Chicago and it's great to have the option again. Donuts were great and the munchkins were unbelievably good. Coffee was weak (I think I've acclimated to Starbucks coffee) but after it cooled off it was smooth and as I remember it. One less star for not having Chocolate frosted cake! I mean, come on. I grudgingly accept not Apple Fritters because it's the first franchise out here and they're busy enough as it is, BUT they have old fashioned's, they have double chocolate. The donuts aren't tasty. You'll eat almost half the jelly donut before you reach jelly. The TV continually pumps out the fake CNN news.

parking is terrible here, and there should never be a line for dunkin donuts, as an east coaster, there was never a line when i lived in philly....food and drinks here are just okay. still doesnt taste the same as the east coast dunkin donuts. i would say to try it, but you should never wait in line for it. read more

Best time Tues or Thurs between 9-11a or 1-2p Wednesday, kids start late or get off early. If you live in SM you know that the schools are nearby. And people working in the surrounding areas come before, during lunch, and after work. No one really likes Tuesdays or Thursdays so it's simply better days to avoid the longer lines. I only waited for about 10-15min, indoors. The donuts were not as great as any other donut in the SM area. In fact, the next day they felt really hard and dry. I did enjoy the strawberry donut though. It wasn't too sweet and tasted good. The strawberry coolatta was so good and refreshing. We also tried some of their breakfast sandwiches and the best one was the croissant with sausage egg and cheese. It tasted fresh, and the croissant was delicious! Make sure to try the mini hash browns. Yes I would come back to try the remaining drinks/sandwiches. Maaaybe grab a donut. I know they just opened, so I get it, the staff is busy with the orders, but they should remember to clean up once in a while. Dirty customers leave their trash and crumbs all over the place. Since all employees are behind the counter, no one tends to the tables. The place is kind of small. there donuts are very very average but I LOVE their iced coffees! particularly the pumpkin spice iced coffee! so cheap and so good! only $1.99 for a small and its basically the size of a grande at starbucks. BUT i came here at around 10:15am and there was a friggen line out the DOOR. you must be kidding me..... BUT YAH! this place definitely wins over mcdonalds iced coffees. Grew up eating these donuts so I was excited to see one open up near me. I didn't have to wait long since they had a lot of workers. But they didn't give me the correct order for my jelly munchkin donuts. I tried their blueberry and chocolate munchkins. They were good but probably wouldn't come on a normal basis. read more

They were out of Boston Creme when I went. If you're out, why don't you make more? That's the only donut I wanted and they didn't have it. I talked to other friends that went and they seemed to have the same problem. If its a popular choice, why not have it available? :( read more

If you don't want to wait too long come early, the craze has not died down! Was there at 6:30am on a Sunday and there were 10 people ahead of me in line...then went for run and drove past it around 8:00am and saw a huge line out the door wow!! Came here at 10 am on a Sunday. Waited about 20 mins. Much shorter wait time than anticipated. Got the donut holes 10 for 2.99. Pumpkin spice hot coffee was better than iced one. Peach black iced tea sweetened was good too.perfect flavor. Nice and patient workers. Was able to use my dunkin donuts dd app to pay. Redeemed offers on the app no problem-was told you can use as many of the offers as you want. Blueberry donut hole good. Better than chocolate, jelly fill, and glaze. Manager special Oreo donut a bit dry. Get a hot coffee to dip it in. Makes all the difference. They also have a 38 cent discount if you get 2 donuts and a medium hot coffee. read more

I'm not from the East Coast, but I love me some Dunkin' Donuts. Mostly for the coffee. I've been here twice. The first time we were super lucky because it was a weekday afternoon and we were able to sit and eat, so it was a pretty smooth trip. The SECOND time on the other hand was NUTS. It was Saturday before noon (I know, our bad) and everyone was there to get something. Although the store figured out how to do the donuts fast (while you're in line they ask you what donuts you want and they give it to you by the time you get to the register) but by the time you get to the register to order drinks, other food and pay... that's when the madness begins. Like any other establishment, by the time you get to the register, you order, and then you pay and wait for your order. A receipt is given to you with an order number on it, but I guess the order number only applies to the non-donut food, not the drinks. The drinks are made by employees at the coffee bar/station/whatever but it's a freakin' free for all. It's almost like an auction house and the employees are just shouting out drinks and hoping that one of them is yours. The line gets pretty long and pushes down back to the entrance when people are done paying. Luckily my BF and I decided to stay put and not push our way down to the front where everyone else was. Drinks would be shouted out, and people who ordered after the previous order would assume that that drink was theirs and grab that drink... THEN the people who had earlier orders would wonder why they were standing there for 10 minutes and ask about their drinks. There are not A LOT of drink options at DD, so it's easy to assume that your drink is that drink. A guy who was maybe 6 orders after us was able to get his drink first and I was like, "That's not even his, he just ordered." The guy heard me say this and was like, "I'm sorry is this yours?" He felt a bit embarrassed, but I reassured him it wasn't and it wasn't his fault because they're literally just making drinks as they come and you're supposed to just hope your drink is the next one they call out. My BF ordered a large iced tea and they didn't even make it so when we noticed that, the guy who got his order earlier, ended up being this weird liaison between the line and the staff because he was tall enough to look over the partition. It was a 20 minute ordeal, but we finally got our drinks! I was pretty peeved when we left, and then I took a sip of my coffee and ate a couple munchkins and realized why we drove all the way there in the first place. That's why it's a three star review, not a two star. It's not gourmet donuts (if you want that... go down the street to DK) but if you just like a decent donut and good coffee... this is where it's at. DD has plenty of time to mellow out, but for now... if you're not trying to "hope you get your order before the person who ordered after you" I would wait awhile before making a trek here. My best friend and I went on the 3rd day since they opened and the line was still super long. We waited about 2 hours but it was well worth it getting some comforts that you can only find in the East Coast. I wish they had more locations, specifically one in Ventura County.
