Why did I bother? I never really liked Dunkin Donuts to begin with, but I guess the hype and excitement to them coming to LA sucked me in to give them another try. A half dozen mixed and the worst blended coffee ever later I had the worst stomach ache ever. Not from actually eating all of them, one was worse than the other. The coffee as well as the donuts pure junk, artificial tastes everywhere, not one good bite in the bunch. I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. (Kinda, not really) Got there at 8pm and finally got to order at about 9:20pm, left at 9:30. Got a dozen assorted donuts which included the oreo ones, manager's special, french cruller, glazed, chocolate glazed and vanilla glazed. I also ordered hashbrowns and a decaf coffee. NONE of the aforementioned donut flavors stood out. Not even the oreo ones. There were also limited flavors to choose from. We were told they were out of the creme filled donuts and munchkins. Donuts were WAY TOO SWEET. WAY TOO DRY. Not worth the long wait! The best part was the hashbrowns and the coffee. LOVE THE FLAVOR OF THE TATERS! COFFEE WAS GREAT! Donuts were disappointing. My bf even said they're the worst donuts he's ever had and he'd rather buy those donuts they sell at Ralph's or Food 4 Less. They're just not soft like Krispy Kreme. Maybe because they weren't fresh. But still....!!!! Sorry people from the East Coast and my fellow Filipinos! Note that I used to eat Dunkin Donuts all the time in the Philippines like it was Winchell's..and those were the ones that I can really say "damn these are good". On this second day in business I had to go and see what the fuss was all about. All my friends from the east coast went nuts in finding out about a DD in LA. I went there at 7:40 am. The line outside was about 20 people deep and allegedly about a 15 minute wait but it ended up being closer to a 1/2 hour. There was a woman working outside the door with a laminated picture of most of their donuts and coffee. She was nice and the pictures were helpful. Contrary to what others have said, no one takes your order outside. The manager passed out DD rewards cards and said you get a free cup of coffee by registering, which could be done on a smartphone, so I registered while waiting. The wait was another 10 minutes inside. The three young women working the bakery section seemed a little overwhelmed and tense. But they got my order right and were friendly albeit stressed out. One negative about check-out was that I didn't get a free cup of coffee or points for my purchase as promised. They didn't explain until after my order that I needed to put money on my card first. That sucked because I had ordered $40 worth of food for which I'll get no credit. My co-workers love me and I am now the most popular person in the office: Dozen Donuts ($9.49): Got 2 Oreo, 2 vanilla creme, 2 Boston creme, 2 "manager's special" blue frosted, a french cruller, a jelly, a strawberry frosted and a vanilla frosted. They were already out of glazed. How could they be out of their most popular donut with about 15 more hours of business to go today? At the office we cut each donut into quarters so we could sample a couple. I tasted the vanilla creme and the french cruller. The vanilla creme was delicious, The french cruller was good but ordinary. Just by looking at the rest I'm pretty convinced that the vanilla creme is the best overall, IMHO. Honestly the donuts are good but don't seem any better than Krispy Kreme. But for less than .80 each when you buy a dozen, these are very well-priced and worth it, if donuts are your thing or your craving. Munchkins: ($5.99 for 25, the least you can buy, according to menu.) These are donut holes. Six flavors to choose from. Got basically five of each flavor (glazed, jelly, powdered, maple and 2 pumpkin and 3 blueberry.) I had only a glazed one. It was good but not much more than a good donut hole. But how can you beat a donut hole for less than a quarter each??? Macaroons cost as much as $3.00 each and you don't get as much. Large iced coffee ($2.89): I can't tell how many ounces it was but it's huge - like, almost Big Gulp sized. It was good, not too sweet (compared to McDonald's iced coffee), and seemed to get even better as the ice melted. Because I am a wimp and like weak coffee. Hot coffee: I got a 100 oz. "Box O' Joe" ($15.99) for me and my co-workers because this is widely considered as the best thing at DD if not the best coffee anywhere. I'm no coffee connoisseur but I thought it was really good, not spectacular or much better than any other high quality coffee. I thought it was a bit on the strong side but two of my co-workers thought it was on the weak side. I really am a wimp. About the price: surprisingly, the straight-up coffee ($1.59 for a small) is not that much less expensive than the Starbucks a block away. Sausage egg croissant (3.69): Wanted to compare it with Jack n the Box's. I got it without cheese. This one is much bigger and better than Jack n the Box. I ate only about 1/3 and was stuffed: I'm skipping lunch and saving the rest for dinner. Thank god, because the sandwich has over 600 calories to throw on top of the donuts, hash browns and iced coffee.. Hash Browns (.79 for six pieces): Not as good as I thought they would be. I prefer McDonald's hash browns. Oh, they don't serve any milk. What kind of donut place doesn't serve milk? Bottom line is that I'll be back, but only with a 5-minute wait. And my ass can't afford to eat there more than a couple times a year. read more

I got in and bought a half dozen dry, flaky, and tasteless donuts. Seriously, I waited for over two hours for donuts only flavored with colored frosting and bland jelly filling. I threw it out after tasting it. I wouldn't even feed this to my dogs. The donuts are not made on site rather they're factory made and shipped to this location. Dunkin Donuts in Santa Monica tastes nothing like their franchises on the east coast. Serious quality control issues here. The only thing outstanding about this place was the coffee. I am a super-huge fan of Dunkin' Donuts! This morning was my 5th visit to this location in Santa Monica since its grand opening on 9/2. I live 30 miles away, so I've made it my Sunday ritual to go super early before the line starts to form. I got there around 6:30am, and there was already a 20 minute line or so. No big deal. I got my usual order of 4 coffee coolatas (I freeze the others and save them). We were not off to a great start when the cashier decided to add a hazlenut coolata to my order, when I ordered all regulars / original flavor. I corrected my order when I saw the guy making them, but the coffee coolatas he made tasted terrible! There is usually a woman w/ brown hair that makes them, but she wasn't there today. I told him that these are not how coolatas normally taste, and they were not good. He remade it for me 2x, but he just could not figure out how to make a coffee coolata. The ones he made were really bitter, and coolatas are typically sweet and have no bitterness to them at all. I was so bummed out that I just asked for a refund. Didn't seem like he was going to get it right anytime soon or ask anyone else to help him make them the correct way. With that, he took over another employees register while she was in mid-ring with another customer and she was just like "hey.... I was using that..." Anyway, he refunded me my money. Dunkin Donuts -- PLEASE train all of your staff on how to make coffee coolatas the right way and have the older woman (looked like a mgr) with brown hair teach everyone. Her coolatas are amazing. EAST COAST MEETS WEST COAST. This was pretty exciting news because I grew up eating dunkin donuts every weeekend! Came around 10 and there was a line but it wasn't out the door! Took about 20 minutes to order our donuts. It seemed a little hectic and the employees attitude kind of gave the atmosphere kind of a meh vibe... I saw one customer complaining how they only had one register opened and the employee kind of just shrugged his shoulder... Y I K E S. It was finally our turn to order. We order 50 assorted munchkins (blueberry, pumpkin, chocolate glazed, powder w/ custard, and jelly filled), one pink sprinkle donut (for dat Instagram photo), and one small hazelnut iced coffee (just cause everyone was raving about this).... ALL OF THAT FOR ONLY $11.37... Like whut so Flippin cheap. Honestly... Dunkin Donuts aren't the best quality donuts so I don't think I would come and stand in line for it again... Krispy kremes is better IMO but the munchkins are pretty good especially the blueberry one. The sprinkle donut was eh and the coffee was eh too. The coffee is always good here, I really like it. The donuts, not so much. I have had fresher. I went in here to look for a particular mug that was broken at home :( I loved that mug. Always stocking limited edition items, they did not have that mug but I replaced it with another good one. Service was friendly. There was parking in the back. I liked that there was a water dispenser at the front of the store on the counter with little cups if you needed it. One thing I cannot get out of memory and it almost kept me from going in was the windows. They SO need a washing! When I first heard that Dunkin' Donuts was going to be in SoCal, I almost cried tears of joy (okay, a little bit of exaggeration there, but really though...I was so excited). Okay, their donuts are not the "best," but there is just something about them that just feels like home. The glazed and chocolate frosting donuts sell out the fastest, so make sure you go early! My favorite thing about Dunkin' Donuts is the iced coffee. It's pretty much like crack to me because it has the perfect amount of sweetness (I love my drinks really sweet). I have been traveling to and from the East Coast my entire life and was raised around Dunkin Donuts basically my entire life. What Yum Yum and/or Krispy Kreme is to the West Coast, DD is to the East Coast BUT wayyyyyyy better!!! So stoked to see they have finally made the transition out West. I even remember their old school commercial with the catchphrase 'time to make the donuts.' I observed the madness online of when this place opened and knew there was no chance I was going to subject myself to that so I waited it out and planned my visit perfectly. I have been fasting for my physical blood work and drove directly from the Doctor to Santa Monica to score me some frosted goodness. I arrived at this location shortly after 9:30 in the morning and was able to secure metered parking directly in front=) I exited my car and walked directly into an overwhelming aroma of pleasure. They say a lot of memories are triggered by smell and that is exactly what happened to me. The last time I had DD was several years ago but I still knew my order by hearts (1 chocolate crème filled & 1 chocolate honey glazed). I ordered a decaffeinated coffee with soy, I love how they make the coffee for you and always add the appropriate amount of sugar/milk/soy/almond milk as requested. This Dunkin Donuts also offers a wide range of menu options other than just donuts to breakfast sandwiches, bagels w/ vegetable cream cheese which is simply amazing to specialty coffees and blended drinks. At the time of my visit I found the staff to be friendly, fast with service, all with smiles and great attitudes. Most importantly I found this DD to be spotless even the bathroom because you know I always look=) Without question the next time I get the vibe for a donut I will be driving to Santa Monica to get my donut freak on!!! Pretty darn good service for a Dunkin Donuts!! Back east, the service could be hit or miss, but this location is on point. I grew up in New York & New England, so I had been eating donuts from this business since I was a toddler. Back when I was a kid you would go into your local shop and watch the donuts being made, pretty neat, but that stopped about 20 years ago. Hence, I feel that the quality of the donuts has changed, but that's not the fault of this location. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of these donuts. Since I became an adult, DD became more about the delicious coffee for me and the occasional bagel. I might have the occasional donut once or twice a month, but I don't love them. I spent the past year in Silicon Valley *shudder* where there are no DD locations!!! :( When we moved to LA I was ECSTATIC to see this store. I have probably been in this location 8 times since July. The staff is very friendly and my order has always been correct or they ask to double check. For all of the complainers, I am guessing you aren't from the east coast. Let me explain something, when it is 5 degrees out back east, you are on your way to work after having scrapped ice from your car, have freezing cold hands/feet and you pull through the DD drive through for a quality coffee with some cream it just makes your morning better! I love that Los Angeles finally has a Dunks. I've missed it so much. For some reason though, the Los Angeles Dunkin' Donuts feels very different from the East Coast ones. Some foods taste exactly the same (donuts, munchkins, sandwiches), but other ones just taste...different. They need to transplant some employees/managers from the East Coast to get some consistency going. It's just not the same. The sausage, egg, cheese sandwich on a croissant hasn't changed at all, so I'd definitely order that again. The hash browns at this branch aren't as crunchy, and it tastes like chicken. SERIOUSLY, IT TASTES EXACTLY LIKE CHICKEN. I'm not sure if I like the hash browns here more or less than the dunks at home, I mean...they're both good. Unfortunately the coolattas here are NO BUENO. They ruin it for me. It's way too icy or whatever...there's just SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. I always end up chewing the ice. I order coffee coolattas back in Boston like it's nobody's business, and so I KNOW. HALF OF THAT SHIZ IS CREAM. The coolattas that I've tried here taste like a healthier knock-off coolatta, which is cool...but ain't nobody ordering a coffee coolatta at Dunkin' Donuts to be healthy. At least I'm not... Dunkin donuts in SoCal?? The hype was real, but I had to get in on what the east coasters seem to always rave about. I expected a wait since it's only been 3 days since their opening and it actually wasn't too bad. Total wait time was an hour during 12pm, but the staff was pretty efficient when the order was actually placed. After about 45 mins of waiting outside, I made it inside the store and waited another 10 mins and ordered my half dozen, sausage croissant, hashbrowns and iced coffee which sadly I had to pay in full as only hot coffee can be added to a combo.. However the other side combos it can be added. Weird, but okay. They had my donuts ready by the time I paid, and handed my iced coffee right after. I asked for cream and sugar and when the cashier asked the girl making drinks, she seemed a bit uncertain but still answered that the drink had both. It did not. After making it to the sugar bar and making it snow on my iced coffee, my food was ready. The croissant was mediocre, I feel like I can get better at a mom and pop donut shop, not quite worth the price I paid. LOVED the hashbrowns though. They're seasoned with a hint of garlic and were quite crispy. The iced coffee was good, although I didn't really have a drinkgasm from it. I tried a glazed donut which I heard was the best, but wasn't impressed either.. Didn't taste very fresh and the texture was similar to that of stale bread. Just wasn't that soft, fluffy, melt in your mouth sugary goodness I was expecting. Overall, I'd advise everyone to come maybe when there's no line out the door. The workers were very courteous and patient. Quick service once you order. Their iced coffee and donuts were a bit disappointing, but I'll try their Coolatta next time to see if they can redeem themselves. Really wanted to love Dunkin Donuts, but I just couldn't. read more

I've only been here on weekends so far but this location has a steady stream of customers. The service is fast and the workers are friendly. The location seems spacious but there aren't that many tables (they should consider having tables outside). Since it's busy it has a rather lively atmosphere of non-stop chatter, so much that you can't really hear the music playing. It's definitely not the place to go to study unlike most coffee shops, although I guess it's technically considered a donut shop. That being said, I'm not a fan of their donuts. However, I keep eating them because I always get a FREE one, haha. How, you ask? Simple. Once you get a receipt, go online to fill out a short survey and you'll get a code for a free donut with any medium/large drink purchase. How sweet is that? Pun intended. The donuts are really sweet. My favorites are Boston Kreme and Blueberry Cake. This month Dunkin' has heart-shaped donuts which of course I'm a sucker for. I've tried the Cookie Dough topped with chocolate icing and chocolate chips and the Manager's Special which had whipped cream filling and Oreo cookie crumbs. I found the Manager's Special to be too sugary for my taste so I like the Cookie Dough better. Now for the coffee which is the real star of Dunkin'. I've had both the iced coffee and the hot coffee here. The hot coffee is definitely way more flavorful. I like my coffee sweet so I have cream and caramel swirl added. Other flavor swirls available are as French vanilla, hazelnut, and mocha, and the less sweet flavor shots options include raspberry, blueberry, coconut and toasted almond. The Dunkaccino is also pretty good (coffee and hot chocolate) and all in all, I think I keep coming back because the drinks are so affordable. Then this location opened and everyone got all excited that they opened one in SoCal. Go figure. This location has some parking in a small lot behind the building. Upon entering, there was a line but it wasn't too long and it moved fast enough. Service was pleasant and helpful. I ended up getting a dozen for $9.50 because, of course, it's a better bargain and you can try a variety of flavors. I would say Dunkin' Donuts are basically good, but they aren't extraordinary or real distinctive. They don't have many cake donuts to choose from and I tend to favor cake donuts. I wouldn't rush back here to buy donuts. If I crave Dunkin' Donuts, I would probably pick one up at the airport since most airports seem to have Dunkin' Donuts locations. read more

I am a huge fan of this place! The donuts are ALRIGHT and coffee is just WHATEVER (the folgers tasting kind), but there are sooooo many amenities! I alternate between here and Starbucks when I have to work on my laptop. You usually get what you pay for... HOWEVER, I have only spent $2, but I already received $12 in gift cards, 2 free large drinks, and so many coupons for random free food items! Pretty sweet, right??? I come here every morning for my large iced teas and croissant donut fix. Delvaughn or Anthony are usually on the register. I'm usually met with a smile and witty humor. I was super excited that Dunkin make it to the west coast because it was tired of hauling munchkins from NY back to the Bay for everyone. Anyway the service here again is incredible. Every employee welcomes you with a smile. Suggests the application and gets your order right. They even answer all your questions regarding recommendations and so forth. I often wonder if they were made in New York and traveled by bus or train to get to Santa Monica. The coffee is decent, but there are other places I prefer. The long lines that appeared for the first couple of weeks after they initially opened have vanished. A dream come true! Dunkin' Donuts in LA!!! Went last night and the line was crazy, waited almost 2 hrs to get in. But i like how organized the employees were. They were so nice cause they still let people in at the end of the line even though it was almost 12midnight. You can see they were under pressure, but they still managed to keep calm and take the customers' orders in a friendly and professional way. Well, as a hard core, devoted Dunkin Donuts fan from New England, this location is just A-OK. Not great. Here's why: -No decent parking -Why is DD in the middle of Santa Monica, of all starting locations? GAH. -Service was not very happy looking; it wasn't even that crowded -Why would you sell those dinky towels as 'beach towels'? When I was a little kid, there were actually Dunkin' Donuts locations all across Southern California. My dad and I would go to this one shop by our house. I always insisted on sitting at the counter so I could stare at ALL the donuts. I'd pick my favorite--the Chocolate Kreme Filled Donut--and my dad would get either the French Cruller or Old Fashioned. This was our normal weekend routine. I entered this Dunkin' Donuts location and was immediately brought back to my 8 year old self enjoying donuts with my dad. I was super excited since it's been YEARS since we've had a Dunkin' Donuts in California. I've been able to get my fix by hunting down Dunkin' Donuts locations whenever I traveled. One of the employees suggested to the guy in front of me to order 6 donuts because they had a special where you buy 6 and get 6 for free. When I asked the guy helping me, he said there were no specials except for their Halloween donuts. I am all about free things! Oh well. Of course, I went with my Chocolate Kreme Filled Donut and also got a chocolate glazed cake donut for fun. As I was paying, I noticed the sign that stated the 'buy 6 get 6 special' and was kind of annoyed at the guy for not telling me about this. I took a picture out front and sent it to my dad haha. When I got home, I bit into my donut. Sadly, it was stale and had clearly been sitting out for a long time. I was incredibly disappointed since I had been waiting in anticipation for the long lines to die down. I haven't been back yet, but a co-worker did bring some into the office to celebrate the Giants win with orange and black colored (Halloween) donuts. I tried the Oreo donut which was actually pretty delicious. The vanilla buttercreme inside was the right amount of sweet and I really enjoyed the oreo crumble on top. Went today all the way from the inland empire and waited 2 hours in line! WELL WORTH THE INSANE 2 HOUR WAIT! I got a large vanilla iced coffee, a bacon egg and cheese croissant , DD's famous delicious hasbrowns, and of course a half a dozen of donuts! Everything here is amazing!!! Love their iced coffee!! It is well worth the wait, just can't wait till it calms down so you can actually just walk in and not worry about a huge 2 hour line! Also can't wait till they open some DD's in the Inland empire!! Only sad thing is I got a $65 parking ticket! :( TIP: when parking, DONT PARK ANYWHERE NEAR THE WILLSHIRE AREA NEAR THE APARTMENTS AND STUFF, THEY WILL GIVE YOU A $65 PARKING TICKET!!
