This is supposed to be an egg & cheese bagel. It looks like an old gray dog turd. I used the drive through and was greeted by a very melancholy voice that really didn't want to be working. I ordered 2 sandwiches and a coffee. When I got to the window I apologized and asked to add a coffee as I forgot one. The girl rolled her eyes and sighed. She shoved the second cup out at me, no plug in opening so it spilled out with every bump. I love Dunkin' coffee so I'll be back but I probably won't order the breakfast turd.

Overall view of sandwich and wraps

I was very unhappy with dunkin today, which breaks my heart because I love and support dunkin. While ordering over the intercom during the drive through, after every item I said, the lady asked "are you done yet?" It just made me feel rushed and that she was trying to move me along. My order was a little long, but I am a paying customer. When I asked for a sausage egg and cheese croissant, she said they were out of croissants. When I ordered a Boston cream donut, she said they were all out. When I asked for two sausage egg and cheese wake up wraps, she said they were out of sausage. I ended up ordering a sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, a large coffee, 2 egg and cheese wake up wraps, and 2 hashbrowns. I did not receive the hashbrowns and they put bacon on the English muffin. When I ordered that in the beginning and she said no more sausage at the end, It didn't cross my mind so she took it upon herself to apply bacon to it instead. When I get home, this is what I see. A "sandwhich" just thrown into the bag and falling apart and a weird looking wake up wrap that looks like it was squeezed in someone's hand. Also, the other wake up wrap was at the bottom of the bag not wrapped up and it was super soggy. Me and my husband didn't even eat the food. At all.

    Note the drive-through window.

I promised I'd go back and try this again, after my less than exciting coffee I had here last week. Well, I'm suitably impressed. If you didn't happen to see my review of DD coffee in Woodstock, Illinois, I had this to say: " I would categorize DD coffee as a medium blend with several complex flavors to it, not easily identified. I would almost say it has cloves in it, but it could be something else that resembles cloves. There's a hint of chocolate in it, too. (And it was better than the DD coffee I had last week.) I can see how people have come to regard this as their favorite coffee." Well, the same applies at the Waukesha store, in fact, the coffee might be a little more flavorful in Waukesha, due to the excellent water that is uniquely Waukesha's own. (Did you know that Waukesha was once known as "The Saratoga of the West" for it's mineral waters and spas? And that Waukesha was home of bottling companies that sent Waukesha water all over the country? That's all gone, but the water is still as good as it ever was.)

The signage is a little confusing, in that it's attached to another business (VeloCity Cycling), but just open the door and walk in. There are plenty of windows, so you know that you're in the right place. There are several different places to sit. Inside by the counter, a glass enclosed patio with a better view of the lake (the sunny can be overly bright and glaring), and outside seating during warmer weather. Got a friendly greeting by the staff, and help with the ordering. Got a couple hot drinks, including a London Fog Latte, and two scones (one blueberry, and another chocolate chip). The drinks were done nicely, with the London Fog including the necessary vanilla, lavender, and extra foam. The scones were good, but definitely not a traditional recipe. These were essentially muffins that were cooked on a cookie sheet and not a muffin tin. Had great muffing texture, not the tender/dry/crumble that you get with a real scone. I did ask, and apparently they make everything from scratch in house. When we arrived, there were just several tables of customers, but within the hour the entire place filled up. It's a popular place, and at times it could be hard to hold a conversation. It's a nice spot, with a great view, friendly staff and well made beverages. Would stop in again.

Inside, there is seating downstairs or upstairs, which tends to be a bit quieter (my choice). Also upstairs is a meeting room that you can reserve. The counter to order is at the back of the shop, which can feel a little distracting if you are sitting downstairs, with people lining up across the room. On this visit, I got a super friendly greeting from the cashier. Ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little vanilla, a little lavender, extra foam) in a mug, and a blueberry lemon scone. They do a nice job with the latte, and the scone was very good (might ask to have it warmed up next time). The place has a great vibe. The staff seem to enjoy themselves and treat everyone with kindness and respect. It's a great example of what a coffee shop should be.

Things that were off-putting: seems like a local fan-favorite and outsiders passing through are "meh". Not the warm and fuzzy welcome / vibe I typically find and enjoy at a coffee shop. Also the main entrance is not accessible. However, we did discover an accessible ramp on the side of the building (all under construction / roped off at the time of our visit but good to know for future visits). Lastly, it's a small and cozy place but there was a lot of merch scattered about where maybe an extra table could have been squeezed in. Just some thoughts!

I've increasingly become such a fan of this spot…read more The coffee menu is fun and varied and the drinks are delightful. The bites are lovely--if you know what to order. I think in my last review I had gotten the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel and mentioned it was pretty basic (your order was pretty basic, you may have shouted at the screen--you're not wrong, gentle reader). Since then I've grown, I've taken responsibility for my uninspired ordering and can now confidently say--they have some of the best coffee shop breakfast bites around. What should you order? Their strawberry avocado toast. Strawberries on avocado? I'm unsure, you may be muttering. Please do yourself a favor, stop muttering, and just order the dang toast. It's goat cheese sprinkled, balsamic reduction drizzled, and quite simply some of the best avocado toast I've had the pleasure of consuming. What else? The baked oatmeal with berries. Warm, comforting, and adorned with fresh berries--it's the stuff winter dreams are made of. I love during the holidays they have some fun holiday lattes (s/o to the jingle bells latte) and I've also recently ordered and enjoyed their tangerine mocha (citrus-y delight!). The service is always above-and-beyond lovely. And, dining/seating area is clean and comfortable. Get to it!
