This is part of a gas station just near one of the coolest party neighborhoods of Dallas about half a mile from all the clubs, and contains some pretty important things called gas pumps - which if you are low after cruising up and down past all of the nightclubs all evening and checking out all the studs and hotties, then this is exactly what you need. It's saved us on two occasions so far - so we're glad it's here even though the prices are not that cheap. read more

Got out to my car yesterday and realized my tire was almost completely flat. Filled it up and immediately went on a digital search for tire repair. I saw this shop listed with good reviews so I decided to check them out, and I am really glad that I did! I waited maybe 30 minutes for them to do a $12 patch job on my tire. They were polite, super nice guys and got me taken care of in no time. While I was there one of the guys actually helped a lady out with the wheels on her dog stroller as well- very random and he didn't have to do that but he did which I think shows a level of customer care that is lacking in the service industry today. Overall I would definitely recommend this shop for your tire care needs, they will take care of you. read more

Ok, let's start by saying thank you to the crew at Dunlap-Swain Tire. Upon my arrival at work, after getting my tire with two nails fixed in 7 minutes flat, I noticed my backpack missing and called the shop. Thankful to the super nice and friendly staff for picking my backpack up off the wall outside and bringing it into the office so I could come pick it up. Everything was in tacked and they could not have been nicer. This is my second time using this shop for a nail in my tire. They are always very nice and helpful. Well, these guys won't take your money for no reason- so that's something, but if there's such a thing as too honest this place has that problem. Last week we sent our car in for an oil change and for a tire rotation or new tires and told them that we would be making a 20 hour drive to Virginia. They called us back and told us our tires were fine and would make it to Virginia. Well, 15 hours into our trip we are stuck by the side of the road with a busted tire. This could have been avoided if we we had gone to a better shop. We've sent our cars here for a few years and I've never had any reason to complain before now, but I will be taking my car somewhere else from now on. read more

Excellent and timely service. I had two separate problems with my car, and both times they were able to look at my car and finish the job faster than I expected. One of the problems I had was with my car overheating. They informed me that there could potentially be engine damage since my car was so hot. They were upfront and honest about how much it would cost to fix the problem, and informed me that I might still have engine damage. The fixed the problem in one day and luckily there was no engine damage. I trust and thank them for there honesty and quality work. I will go back if I ever have any car problems. read more

I brought my car in for a tire patch. Turns out I had picked up a screw. They went right after it and 5 minutes later I was on my way.

To save time I decided to come here on my lunch break versus waiting till the weekend. I came to get an inspection and wasn't greeted (just stared at). I said hi and again nothing. The staff I encountered were very rude and not personable. I was asked if I wanted to leave it or wait. I said neither and went to my usual place. read more

I've gone to Dunlap Swain 4-5 times now. They're honest, friendly, and knowledgeable guys. I kind of hate going to auto repair shops since I'm pretty ignorant about most automotive issues/parts/etc. However, I am totally comfortable leaving my car with this shop. They don't try to up-sell me like so many other chain shops do. I loooove their drop off/pick up service. They charged me $45 just to pull the trouble codes, then to tell me they couldn't find anything wrong with my car, that it's running fine. Took my car here in hopes to find a good mechanic close to work, only to find that they said they can further troubleshoot for an additional $210....what???? Ended up breaking down that same day on the way home from work. What a waste. read more

This place is incredible! They offer the kind of service that is very hard to find these days. I pulled in around noon with a dead battery and within 30 minutes they had replaced it and a positive side cable, During the time I was waiting they went to someone's office and picked her up because her car was ready. I have been a customer of the downtown Dunlap-Swain shop for over 23 years, with 3 of my cars. Working downtown, it is very convenient to go to them for my car repairs and they have always finished any of my repairs on the same day. There may be cheaper repairs shops in the metroplex, but quality and reliability is very important to me, so I haven't done any price shopping. Their work on my cars has always been excellent, and I trust them completely. I bring my car to them for oil changes, and I always tell them to let me know if anything else needs to be done. They have never taken advantage of this, and most of the time all that is needed is the oil change. I thought being able to drop off my car for an oil change and state inspection across the street from where I work would be a good thing, and this shop came highly recommended by co-workers. I'm trusting the work was done satisfactorily, but: the "routine service needed" button was not re-set, and the dirty protective paper was left in the floor board, so I had to deal with that mess, as well. Also, when I went in to pick up my car, the two men in the office were busy looking at something on the internet and I was clearly interrupting them. As soon as I paid, the guy was back at the computer, leaving me standing there. Good thing I didn't have any questions - I really would not have wanted to interrupt them again.
