This place was awesome! I had a nail in my tire. I came in at 8:30am on a Thursday, and was helped instantly by Gustavo. There wasn't a line and we went out to see my tires immediately. He said it would be an easy fix and because my tires were from Discount Tire the fix would be free. He said the repair would take 45 minutes, but that I could leave the car until I needed to get back. I left to go run at white rock lake and came back a few hours later. Again, not busy, and was helped instantly by Gustavo, my car was ready, he gave me my keys, again it was free, and I was good to go, I got to leave immediately. Best service ever! read more

Honestly I thought this was a great location from other reviews and well I got my hopes up. Booking an appointment for new tires was the easy part. As I was checked in swiftly and thoroughly, I didn't realize I'd be pressured to get new wheels from the advisors ... I understand I had a couple dents but I potentially declined ( because I was already new wheels else where). 3-4 times throughout me waiting they asked me to get new wheels, even gave me an estimate and said I'd feel vibration and wobbling... still haven't since leaving and my car was fine before this appointment too. Oh yeah they even said they couldn't find my wheel lock and I said exactly where it was and they somehow still couldn't find it and when they had me go in my car and check and wow I found in the the exact spot I told them... 3-4 guys looking at me like I didn't know what I was talking about . The icing on the cake was the last guy to talk to me and tell me " oh so what's the deal, is it the money/ cost of the wheels is that why you won't get them ". I said no the first time and I'll say it again no .. you all said you couldn't balance or mount them if not, well then that's poor craftsmanship on your end to not be able to do the work . Had another great experience. I've had a few flats recently and every time I come everyone's in such a good/positive mood and easy to work with. The bay area looks like a fun time. My service advisor (wish I got his name!) was personable and kind, offered small chat that led to similarities and had great hospitality. I arrived at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, figuring that would allow plenty of time to replace a blown out tire and bent wheel. After a bit of a wait, an incredibly nice young man inspected the car, checked me in, and assured me they'd get it fixed up. I didn't ask how long it would take. Huge mistake! Knowing the store closed at 6:00 pm I foolishly assumed the car would be roadworthy by 6 or a little after. Y'all, I drove away at 7:40 PM! That was super l sort of a catastrophe in my little life. By the time my car was ready, the Incredibly nice young men had left for the day. The remaining workers were worn out from the day's labors or maybe they were the B Team. I earnestly strive to be positive, supportive and encouraging especially to young people doing difficult public-facing jobs -- because life is hard, you know? And I was young once. But that day I came close to expressing annoyance with the last guy who "helped me". Through him, I have now experienced "the Gen X stare" that Millennials complain about on TikTok. Yeah, it's insulting and exasperating, even though it may be caused by a young person lacking social skill and ability to coherently answer work related questions. The guy simply did not respond when I asked some simple but IMPORTANT questions. I surmise Discount Tire's team was not fit to do business by the time they accepted my car Wednesday after 4 PM. They should have been transparent and asked me to come back another time. (I could have driven on the "donut" tire another day or two! God forbid! They could have taken a chance on a customer going elsewhere for repairs-- but not really! Most customers are truly locked in once they buy a set of tires at Discount Tire. It was rude and risky to keep me there so late. * They over-inflated one of my tires to 38 psi (It should have been 30 psi). That's not good for my costly tires! And now I realize I'm not sure that only one tire was improperly inflated. (Two of the built-in pressure monitors are out of service) And just now I realize I can't be sure they even balanced my tires. If you can't fully pp trust the guys who work on your car you may be exposed to real perils. I ASKED whether my car would need front end alignment, since a wheel had to be replaced. My "Gen Z stare" helper appeared visibly startled by the question. After a pause he said, It "might" need alignment. I asked where he would suggest going for this service. He told me DT now does wheel alignments at its store on Forest Ln and Plano Rd, Garland. (Useful to know!). What he failed to tell me was that it BADLY NEEDED alignment! Not sure that my life has been endangered by these oversights but I sure haven't benefited by them. Bought tires for a Tesla with advertised warranty of 45,000 miles- was told that they would need to be rotated in the future in order not to invalidate the warranty. I took it back a few months ago for them to fix a flat for me (at that time I would have rated them 5 stars) and they told me I would still need to rotate the tires but that it was too early to do it then- I would have to bring it back. I did that today making an appointment to get the tires rotated. The employee looked at the tires and told me that the tires could only be rotated from side to side, which I already knew since the rear tires were different from the front tires and that side to side rotation did nothing to extend the warranty of the tires. The warranty was only 22,500 miles since the tires could not be rotated from front to back and vice versa. He was not apologetic in any way, but said he would talk to the other employee who sold me the tires to correct his knowledge base. Needless to say, I will not be back. So sad given my respect for the company founder and his motto- he would not be proud!! read more

Arrived for my appt at 3pm. I wanted to check out my rear drivers tire. It had lost air down to 27lbs. Met service tech name on shirt said Carlos I think: Inform." me it would be 2 hours. I agreed to the wait as I was leaving town next day. But then he said because it was a Subaru it would be 50/50 shot you would break my lug nuts cause they are put o too tight. I bought tires in March and were put on by discount tires. My tires were rotated by this store early October. I left and probably will never go back to this store again. Wished I had not bought tire replacement insurance now. Sad! read more

Is this how you run a business? If it is, this place is an excellent example. First I called to make an appointment. They said sure and took care of me as soon as I arrived. Why should you care? 1) prior to calling discount tire, I called a different national brand name tire shop and they said "sure we can make an appointment but if people are in front of you then you will have to wait. If the door is turning we got to take care of them." So what's the point of the. Appointment? They said it guarantees you a spot, but if there's people coming in .... You'll have to wait. This was the most confusing statements and logic. Hence I called discount tire and I'm glad I did. The person on the phone was knowledgeable and set up the appt Saturday 28th. Nice and easy that way it should be. 2) I pull up and see the parking lot full, bays are full, and a few people sitting outside. Thought to myself there is no way they'll take care of me for my appointment. Walk in, nice place, 3 people behind the computers occupied with either live customer or someone on a phone. No problem I'll wait. As soon as that thought crossed my mind, "hello Sir, well be right with you" I don't remember the last time pre corona that I had someone said hello and provide customer service. Another clerk, calls me over and greets me. Jamie, I believe, goes outside, we check out the car, and makes it a smooth experience. Why do I say this? Most of the shopping I've done, every single time the customer reps are always occupied or distracted with something else. This guy was attentive. He shows me the tire options for my car and we move on. (Note: Not something that they can control directly, but I'm not used to seeing off brand tires.) He said we can order different ones if you like and they will be here this week. As my situation didn't allow to wait, we made the best choice possible. He said we will have ready before 415. To me would be too fast, as In compromising quality, I was not even ready for such fast service. I'm like take your time I'm in no rush. What felt like a few minutes passed bye, I hear someone say my name and car. I'm thinking oh great they found an issue. Nope! The car is ready. Wait what! Yup it's ready. We walk outside, he hands me my car key, wheel lock, and receipt. Thank you for the business goodbye. I kid you you not, I could not believe it. Everything was done as discussed and I sat in my car for a second. No way it was this fast? I swear I spent maybe 15 minutes after giving them my keys and I was out of there. Flabbergasted. I had always been a NTB person until the local one claimed to order my truck tires but didn't, twice! As these were tires for my truck I use in emergency communications and storm spotting where I sometimes only put on 2000 miles in a year, I decided to wait. A couple of years later, the 8 year old tires were beginning to crack and LAST thing I want is to be changing a tire when chasing/being chased by a tornado! Crusty old Ray is not as fast with a tire change as Young Bullet Proof Ray during a thunderstorm. I decided to give this place a chance and not only did they have the tire I wanted, they found the ones I REALLY wanted in the larger size that would better support the conditions the truck is used! I needed a tire repair. I left with 2 new tires the wrong size for my car and each tire cost $50 more than the proper size. No offer to order , just pressure to buy. Lots of pressure to keep buying. Pressure to order a new spare - it's about $70 according to the guy but was actually $109 once it was all said and done. I'm embarrassed that I didn't stand up for myself but they are well trained in high pressure sales tactics. read more

This is the last time I'll do anything with this store - these guys called me at 11:30 for a 12:45 appointment saying the tires are in. great - I said I was close by and could they handle me now ? he said "yes come on" do, like an idiot I did. Bad idea. it's 12:45 and they finally move my car into the bay. Bought tires in November, 2020 under pandemic conditions. Waiting room was spotless with hand sanitizer available. Sales staff were wearing masks. Garage/bay areas were neat and tidy and technicians were also wearing masks. Jacob was my sales person and he was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Edward was the technician that installed my tires and he was also professional and courteous. It's always a plus to buy your tires from Discount Tire, because they keep a great database of all of your previous purchases, which helps when checking warranty, or brand or size for any tires you previously purchased from them. Please note that online tire prices do not include additional cost for Installation and Life of Tire Maintenance, which for my purchase was $21 per tire x 4 tires = $84 + tax, on top of tire price. You may also be charged for Certificates for Refund, Replacement which is $14.50 per tire x 4 tires = $58 + tax, on top of tire price. However the second charge for the Certificates is optional, so make sure you want them before you pay for them. This is a fine tire operation. I've bought tires in the past because their prices were better than my dealership. Yesterday however I woke up to a flat tire due to a nail and swapped my spare and drove over. They had a curbside Covid process which worked smoothly and helped me in a timely fashion. They had me pull my car in to the stall when they were ready to patch my tire and they worked quickly and efficiently. I saw them polish the studs for my lugnuts as well as the back side of my wheel! They used a torque wrench to make sure all 4 wheels' lugnuts were at the proper tightness. When finished they said good to go- no charge!! Wow. Outstanding friendly service. Their online appointments and free air pressure checks are also awesome. Bottom line- you need tire work DT is your place. read more

A customer of mine stopped by this location to get a whole set of new tires put on her 2017 wrx. They removed removed the wheels and get the tires on but when they put the wheels back on who ever put them back on cross threaded one of the lug nuts, so that lug nut did not actually make contact with the rim. The vehicle was brought to my shop where I realized they cross threaded the nut and now the customer has to pay for the mistake that discount tire has caused and does not own up to it. I realize mistakes happen but at least be a decent shop and own up to it and make it right. I suggest going across the street to Firestone. read more

I have been coming to this location for many years and have always found the service here to be friendly and efficient. Today I had my car towed in around 7:15am and since they weren't open yet, though there were workers inside, I went to get a coffee at McDonalds. When the opened the door, they asked who's car was the silver Hyundai as they said that was the first car they saw come in today. So, they took my car in first even though I was third in line at that time. It wouldn't have mattered to me if they took me third, but the thought that they cared enough to have my car looked at first since it was towed in at 7:15 am showed me how much they pay attention. The only suggestion for that store is to put in a number system or put in those bank ropes as sometimes the space gets crowded with so many in line to get to speak to someone. read more

Jaime especially goes above and beyond to help me make the best choice even if it's not the most expensive tire they sell, remembering me and my car & tires, not only taking care of whatever my car is needing that day but also being personable and pleasant, really seeming to care about the customers and quality of the service provided.
