I was awaiting diagnostics on my car for about 2 hours with an appointment at 10:30am. They mentioned they were backed up. Upon completion I was told my car battery needed to be replaced with that and labor costing ~$340 to be done. I decided to go to autozone after to test my battery and it came back at 100% functioning as well as the alternator which I was told was unable to fully be checked till the battery situation was resolved. I am disappointed in the service and had to pay ~40 to be told the above when come to find out it is working fine. I went in alone as a woman and I am not sure if this was taken advantage of but this is not right. I would not recommend this place after this experience. read more

Made an appointment for 1030, was on time. When I got here an older lady was waiting to get her tire looked at. At approximately 1045 a gentlemen came in said he had a 1030 appointment. Within minutes he was serviced, tires looked at and time quoted for job finished. Over the next hour I waited to even have my car talked about and looked over. Three different men had came in and had times quoted. Including a gentleman who also came in for an air conditioner issue like mine. Additionally older lady still hadn't been fully helped with her tire. Eventually the same mechanic who helped the gentleman 45 minutes prior started to help her and quoted her an additional 2 hour wait for a tire. While my reality may not be fact seemed they liked to service the men first. I ended up leaving and going somewhere. Once again I can be wrong by perception is reality. Wish I could rate a "0"! 4329 Lemmon Ave Dallas location. I am still here and have been since noon when my car was towed here to have a tire replaced. I called twice before the tow to be sure the tire size was at the store and was told yes both times. when I arrived I asked again if they would make sure it was here. three hours latter, mind you with no communication I was told they did not have the tire here and it would be tomorrow before they could get it. I asked why I was told it was here they said it was "in stock" at another store so they are told they have to say they have it. I asked them to be towed to that store, the manager Rick called for a tow then cancelled it saying he would drive to the other location to get it. it is now 6:30Pm I have been here all day and I am still waiting. no communication again. when I asked for his supervisors name I was told he could not give that info out, no worries found them on LinkedIn and will contact them as well. NEVER COME HERE! All customers waiting to pick up their vehicles all are experiencing the same issues, time, communication, lies. so it's not just me. Dont waste your time or money here. I was so happy to find someone who could help me put my rearview mirror back up when it came unglued a few months ago. Everywhere I went to get it glued back, they would tell me, "Oh we don't do that kind of thing." I even went to an auto parts store, purchased the special glue made for this purpose, attempted to reglue it myself with No luck whatsoever. The mechanic Misa was outstanding and very professional. It is extremely close to my condo. I want to use them. But I went three times for a quote they are constantly twice as much as the other two locations. I went to get quotes. They have technical equipment. But it can only tell bad spark plug. Not which one like the other two locations. It feels like they only want to charge you money the most they can. I get it they are a for profit company. But I want to use them so bad. But will not go back it appears. They charge $110.00. I went to this Pep boys location a couple weeks ago to get my brakes checked. They came back and told me I needed new brakes and new rotors, and told me it would be over $1100... I left and got my brakes looked at by a family friend who is a mechanic and both my brakes and rotors are completely fine. Not only that but when I told them I didn't want to proceed with the service at pep boys, they didn't even have my car jacked up or any of the tires off. So how would they have known I needed either brakes or rotors? It seems like they're just trying to take advantage of woman or people in general who aren't knowledgeable of cars. This time I had to order my tires online because they couldn't get them and make an appointment with the store for installation. Octavio, Ray, & Edwin pulled off the impossible, at the end of what I could tell was a very long day, 30 Minutes before closing. They did it because they knew how important it was to my son to have his car running, so he could make it to work without bumming another ride from his Mom and Dad. The night before we dropped it off at PepBoys on N Central Expressway, someone had stolen my son's gas cap just before a typical Texas flood, rained down upon his car, filling the Gas Tank with water (which by the way sinks to the bottom of a gas tank, and renders the engine inoperable). These Tres Amigos dropped & drained the tank, pulled the moisture from the fuel lines & rails, and even hoofed it to the Gas Station an brought back Gas on their own dime. They committed to staying late that night, to get it running, and wouldn't give up till it roared to life. We all cheered when it happened! I have never written a review before. It just is not something that I do, but in this case, I felt compelled to do so. I went in for an easy fix. In the past, I had taken my car to a local competitor, and I now know that I have spent thousands of unneeded dollars with the competitor. I was clearly taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge with the competitor. At this location of Pep Boys, my car was finished within thirty minutes, and I merely had a bill of $14.00. I am pretty sure if I had taken it to the competitor, I would have ended up with a bill of several hundred dollars, if not more. I will now be using this Pep Boys for my vehicle needs. Within 30 minutes, the guy at Pep Boys told me he just pushed a button underneath the steering column that turned the sensor off. Problem solved, and he wouldn't let me pay him for it because it was such a quick fix. I got back in town and picked my car up at the airport at 11pm to find a completely flat tire. I put air in it and discovered I had run over a bolt. I took it in this morning to Pep Boys and they got me in right away. I knew I had purchased tires from them in the fall, but I didn't realize that I only bought the front ones. Pull in about 30 min early for a 6pm appointment and the gentleman quickly pulls my car in for service. Considering it was a Saturday I figured I was lucky. Then after about 5 min the man comes back and states that he won't be able to rotate the tires since one of them were below recommended thread depth. He said I'd need 4 new tires at that point. I said I'll raincheck for now. I pull out and notice the wheel lock key was missing from the cup holder I placed for him so he doesn't have to wander throughout the vehicle looking for it. I confronted him about it and said he'll ask the other guy who looked at the car. Funny thing is I was watching the guy the whole time and no one else came to the car. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!! I had spent a week visiting family out of state; while out of state I had my rear brakes/rotors replaced. I was on my way back home to Fort Worth with a 3-year-old and a one year old in the car. My husband was out of state for work, so I was traveling by myself with my kids. Having been on the road since the day before, we were 50 miles from home when my vehicle started making a scary screeching sound. It soon started feeling like my back wheels were about to fall off on the interstate. I quickly pulled off and found the nearest automotive center, which happened to be Pep Boys. During COVID, I imagine that they were by appointment only, but when I explained that my kids and I were pretty much stranded, they got my car in the shop right away. Eddie was able to see right away that some of the bolts were not secured back when I got my brakes done at a different place. The caliber bolt on the driver rear side actually had fallen out, making the wheel feel unstable. The one on the passenger side was loose as well. Eddie was able to replace the bolt for me and tighten everything back up. He then took my vehicle for a test run to make sure it was safe. When I asked what I owed, they told me "absolutely nothing". I about cried. I was essentially stranded, and a long way from home, and with two small kids. To say there were amazing is still an understatement! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! read more

Had a vehicle inspection appointment scheduled at noon. I came in at 11:45am and was told that the person who will inspect my car will be arriving in 15 minutes. At 12:20pm, I asked the guy in the front desk how much longer till the inspector arrives, he called her and asked me to wait for another 5 minutes which I did. By 12:30 the lady finally arrived, when I told her that I had an appointment at noon and that I've been waiting for 30 minutes, she told me that its a first come first serve basis. What the heck?! What was the whole point of setting up an appointment online then? I told her if that was the case I would have gone to a different place, then she told me that she'll get my information eventhough she hasn't clocked in yet. I was stuck in this dump for another 30 minutes. Great.... I've had my car serviced here before and had never experience this type of crappy service. Never again. For those who are looking to get their vehicles inspected, I would advise you to go somewhere else. The staff here is lazy and crappy. If I could give this place a zero I would.
