I come here off and on to recycle my left over painter after I finish with my various painting projects. Whenever I go I have a great experience. call ahead of time to make sure they have space to take your paint. Go inside and tell them you'd like to recycle your paint. They had you a cart. When we asked The Poway store if they had someone to help with color selection, we were referred to the Miramar store. It's a free service that D&E offers but the Poway store had not yet replaced their Color Advisor. We called and made Appointment with the color advisor at the Miramar store, but they welcome walk-in as well. Our color advisor, Javanah, was very friendly and had the patience of a saint. We explained our objective and she took the time to look at pictures of our house as well as offering color options. She understood our goal well enough to explain why one color option would work better over another. Her suggestions where right on, and we are really happy with the way she helped us. read more

I came in as a retail customer to try and modify a paint color that my contractor had started with but didn't look the way we expected it to based on the sample card. Matt spent over an hour with me testing different color shades on the cinder blocks I brought in, and we finally landed on something that worked. He knew how to make custom adjustments to the paint and suggest how to move the color towards what I was looking for. It was above and beyond customer service, and I am super grateful for the effort, especially for a one-off customer who was only getting a couple gallons of paint. I will definitely be switching to Dunn-Edwards for my paint needs in the future! read more

Best paint & supplies store ever. Staff super helpful and friendly. They go out of their way, to make sure that you leave with the right product and a guarantee that if the product is not right, they'll make it right - excellent return policy. It's what shopping is supposed to be about, you bring them your problems & doubts and they provide products and services along with a healthy dose of experience. Being weekend painters, we need all the help that we can find. Of particular note was employee "Matt". Absolutely one of the best experiences ever that we've had in any store (not limiting these remarks to just paint stores). Upbeat, great sense of humor,made it fun, thoroughly professional and someone who you forward to going back to, whenever you need additional supplies. Oh and BTW, Harbor Freight shares their parking lot. I generally never need an excuse to visit Harbor Freight and being able to shop at Dunn-Edwards without moving the car, is an added extra! Excellent customer service I came in needing a help with a paint color match and Jovic was able to perfectly match the color.

I'm no expert on paint, by any means, so when I volunteered to completely transform my grandma's kitchen during quarantine I knew I needed to call in the experts. I went in with so many questions and no idea where to start, a bit overwhelmed to be honest. However, Marlon and John Torres, the manager, were SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL and PATIENT. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication and thoroughness in assisting me with this project. They were so knowledgeable and made the entire process easy for me. Sure, why not review a paint place. The people who work here are extremely friendly and helpful (especially if you're a woman ;) and they always have what I'm looking for. Oh, and for all you UCSD apartment-modifiers, this is where housing gets their paint, so when you move out and you need to paint over your graffiti/402 wall patches/whatever weirdness you did, this is where you go to start the arduous task of fixing your place. But don't worry - at least the paint shopping won't be a bad experience. read more

I needed to buy paint for my front door. Unfortunately my ASSociation left the color palete with DE. I tried Home depot but they didn't have the color. DE was closed for the holidays for like a week. What kind of business closes for that long?! No messages on phones or on the internet for this location or the one in miramar. This is a Mickey Mouse operation! read more

Bumped into this Dunn-Edwards when we were next door at our kitchen remodel place ... we had never noticed this store there. Well, it was PERFECT timing because we needed to pick out paint. Andre was friendly and greeted us when we walked in, even though he was busy with other customers. Then Azalia, our PPA ("Professional Paint Advisor") looked through about 100 colors with us. Her patience and eye helped us get the perfect color combo. She rang us up, and handed us over to Andre who carted our paint out the front door for us and into our car without even asking. Highly recommend this Dunn-Edwards ... very impressed with their service compared to the Home Depot paint counter where they act like they're doing you a huge favor by mixing your colors! read more

Holy smokes! These people at this Miramar location are super friendly! I called ahead of time and spoke with someone named Tom to get some details on bringing in leftover paint. When I arrived, I was greeted by a store associate who went over some additional store policies on taking leftover paint, and was also very nice. Thanks guys! read more

Our painter recommended we visit this store to select paint colors for our exterior house painting. He told us they would help us "try out" paint colors if we brought a photo of our home. We were planning a major change in color and wanted to know whether it would work well on our home. Apparently this is a service that they *can* perform, but I doubt in reality they ever do. When we arrived we asked the woman who does this "paint previewing" whether she could help us. She said that customers are to email photos of the home to her and then she can help. So I emailed a full resolution image to her while we were in the store. She showed us to the wall of paint selections and some books but would NOT assist us with a preview. There were NO other customers in the time we were at this store and she did nothing more than sit at the desk watching us compare samples. I relayed our experience to our painter and we used Sherwin Williams paint instead. It has now been just over one month since we visited the store and they have yet to reply to my email requesting paint color preview assistance. Don't waste your time, folks. read more

I went there to recycle some paint. They told me their bins were full. I was going to buy paint while I was there. Not anymore. You just lost business. Im sure you can store a couple of empty paint cans until your bins are emptied. read more

I have gone to this particular store several time and I cannot tell you how horrible each experience was. Unless I am a painter, I am going to the back of the line. I wear work attire so I guess I am not worthy of good service. You walk in the door, they ignore you. Until all the painter buddies are taken care of (which I understand actually) you do not have a chance for even a question to be answered. The last time I went, which was Tuesday last week, I went to buy about $5,417.26.00 worth of paint (actual paid at another store) for a 5,500 sf remodel I am doing. The butt head behind the counter did not even acknowledge me when I stood in-front of the counter. He was helping a painter that was there and then another that came in after me. I tried to get his attention, NOT POSSIBLE. When he was done with the two painters he then boldly walked away to the office area yelling for a guy names Kevin or Larry while I stood there asking for help before he was out of sight. Kevin or Larry (I forget) never came out. I walked out. To hell with this place. This particular store sucks, and has each time I have gone into the store. I went to DE in San Juan Capistrano near my house and they are delivering my paint down to the La Jolla area. The SJC store was wonderful. My recommendation, never go to the Miramar store unless you are in painter attire. I am going to go back to the store and get this s..heads name and post it. I know bad attitude starts with store management, I can see that the bad attitude rolls downhill at Miramar. I would give 0 stars is possible. read more
