First let me say, I have been coming to the Amherst location for many years. I have had a lot of work done with you and never had a problem. I have noticed for about a week the battery light is on (very Faint) in the morning. So, I stopped by on Saturday morning to have it checked. AS my battery is about 5 yrs old. I did not make an appt because I only wanted it checked. I was willing to wait my turn. The man at the counter told me they ONLY Check batteries with a appt. Because they have to go outside with a "handheld" machine and that takes time because they have to go outside and they were very busy. Again, I was willing to wait my turn. I looked around No one in the waiting room, one other person at the counter. I understand they want appts made, but really.....how long would it have taken? read more

I tried to buy from them. Called early last week spoke with Dave told him a had a quote from a big box store but would rather buy from a local company. He thanked me and said he was going to get back to me. That never happened. I when in last Friday spoke with a girl,showed her the quote. John came over was starting to work on it. I told it's Saturday your busy just call me Monday. Monday came and went,so I called Tuesday. Dave mentioned that John was busy Monday and off Tuesday but he'd have him call Wednesday. It's 530 pm Wed and still no call. I booked with another company online,price was cheaper for the same tires. Installation is scheduled for Friday. I wished they told me they weren't interested. I wouldn't have wasted my time with phone calls and driving to the location and waiting for half an hour to talk to someone. read more

First off, let me preface this with the fact that the staff were really nice and pleasant people. So, it's super cold here, and my kid's battery failed twice in a month. I wanted to get him a nicer Interstate battery. I did a search of Interstate, kinda difficult to find a place that had them, Dunn Tire came up in Google search. OK, I know it's a price gouging chain, but I'll give them a call. Spoke with a very nice lady, asked about interstate for his car model, she said no Interstate, they have the AC Delco. OK, how much? She said they are $228 installed. I said how long does it take? She said usually less than an hour. OK, next day I get there at 11 am. Cool dude comes out, checks car, writes notes, we go inside, battery is $228. OK, but wait, now it's a $99 installation. Yea, the battery is tucked under the wiper visor so the air assembly has to be removed. I already knew that because I watched a YouTube guy do it all in under seven minutes. So why the $99 charge for a seven-minute job? Oh, some cars we have to charge an hour labor. OK, you got me in the door already, added an hour labor I didn't bargain for, I should do it myself but it's cold outside. How long I ask? Oh, the battery will be here in 30 minutes. Alright, I'll take the $99/labor beating just to get it done quickly. Leave car there 11 am, go home, waiting, waiting. Two and a half hours later at 1:30, nothing, no call. Called them up. They said the Delivery guy messed up/forgot/whatever. He should be there soon. They finally called me back at 2:30. So, it didn't cost $228, it ended up at $355. It didn't take an hour, it took three and a half hours. But it's not their fault, it's my fault, I know better not to do chain shops. My mechanic would have done it for $250 and within an hour, like he did last time. Why do I do this to myself? The moral of this story; stay away from chains and go to your local guy, do the easy stuff yourself. Everything is a lie to suck you in. I know better, and chose wrong. read more

I had to get a new set of tires put on along with a NYS inspection and had a great experience here! I made an appointment online in August 2020 for a Wednesday in September. Now this is where the star is deducted as I was supposed to receive a call to confirm the appointment but didn't. I reached out to their support line though and they immediately text me and confirmed my appointment - Just make sure you save that text!! Upon arriving, I was able to find a parking spot easily. The inside was clean and orderly and I was taken care of straight-away. The gentleman who took care of me was easy to talk to and broke down all of the services and pricing for me. Also, everyone was wearing masks and practicing social distancing, etc. I asked how long it would take and he estimated about 1.5 to 2 hours. So, I ended up walking along Sheridan Dr. and hitting up WalMart and Starbucks to waste some time. I came back after a while and sat in the customer area, which again was clean and very orderly, and before I knew it, everything was done! I think it was about 1.5 - 1.75 hours in total, so his estimate was pretty spot on. All-in-all, I had a good experience here and wouldn't mind coming back again for any tire needs. read more

This is the fifth or sixth time that I've taken my car to Dunn Tire. Each time I've gone, the staff have been very friendly and the mechanics and technicians are very knowledgeable. The pricing is very fair. Seeing as it's getting to be nicer outside, they are very busy so making an appointment online or over the phone is something that I strongly advise you to do. They do a wide array of services such as oil changes, brake work, seasonal tire changeovers, tire sales, inspections, the list goes on and on. I decided to go to Dunn last year after having a not-so-great experience at Firestone Tire on Maple Road where I was left waiting for over 5 hours for a seasonal tire changeover only to be informed at the very end of my wait that they had broken one of my tire pressure censors. Dunn Tire, though they were very busy today and when I went at the end of April (for an oil change), they only had my car for just shy of 3 hours. They never do anything without consulting you first, which is a great. They've also done a fantastic job with making sure that everyone wears a mask. Overall, Dunn Tire is great though I will always have a soft spot for the folks at Vermont Tire back home. read more

Fair pricing for new brake pads & rotors on my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. Service was polite , friendly, and swift. Everyone in service bays as well inside at counters were fully masked and gloved ( thank you for helping to protect our community !) Turn around for work completion was fast. They did not try to upsell me things I didn't need or want - just did the service I asked for. When it's time for a new set of tires I'll be back for sure. read more

Zero starts would be several too many! DO NOT GO HERE!! MASSIVE SCAM ARTISTS, INCREDIBLY DISHONEST & at best QUESTIONABLE "Mechanics" !!! Vehicle dropped off 9:53AM for 4 tires, an inspection and an alignment (not a check - we know it needed it as rear wheel hubs, front control arm and ball joints had just been replaced - our regular repair shop does not perform alignments). Appt made over a week in advance. First, they supposedly broke off studs on the NEW wheel hubs taking lugs off. HUB less than a week old - furthermore studs break on over tightening 99% of the time - NOT when removing lugs. They blamed other mechanic for over tightening lugs. In effort to save time, we agreed to the $114 UP-CHARGE to replace the studs. 5 hours later, called to check on the status and "we are really backed up but it just needs inspection- probably 40 minutes". Go to pick it up an hour later (4:59 PM) and they at that time, pulled it in for inspection. After a few minutes it failed inspection for "loose tie rod". First of all, that would have discovered DURING THE REQUESTED ALIGNMENT and 2 other mechanics verified there was NOTHING loose on the front end and the vehicle has been aligned and inspected WITH NO OTHER repairs by another facility. When I called to see if they would refund the failed inspection and/or repaired studs, the mgr "dave" said I would need to bring it back so he could verify the tie rods not being loose.... um, remember I said I had it aligned and inspected already??? THESE ARE NOT REAL MECHANICS - DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING. read more

Started the day with my wife sending me a picture of the warning light on her dash. It was her tire pressure warning light. She was at her office so I had her call AAA. They came to put air in her tire and told her she had a nail in her tire. I told her to go to Dunn Tire. The AAA driver followed her there to make sure she made it safely. In the meantime I spoke with Tiana at Dunn Tire who told me that they could take care of it today. I met my wife at Dunn Tire and again spoke with Tiana who was very polite and knowledgeable. Later this morning we were advised the nail was too close to the sidewall for the tire to be repaired. Dunn tire was able to get a replacement tire within a few hours to match the flat. Everyone we dealt with at Dunn Tire was friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to match and replace the tire in the same day. I would return to Dunn Tire when tires or tire repairs are needed. read more

I ended up getting winter tires early because I needed to recycle an old set of tires, and Dunn's will take old tires (for a $3 fee/tire). I went to this new Dunn's facility - just 3 weeks old - that replaces their old Sheridan Drive location. This place is big and modern and feels more like you're checking into a hospital with a reception desk and a giant window into the many service bays. I was greeted and immediately helped by a friendly and attentive person who with the tire recycling, and with my luck, I was there when they had a couple promotions - check their web site for details, but I scored a Bills victory discount (Bills win, you get a discount), and a good deal on very highly rated Bridgestone Blizzak WS90's (which are the current rave of Youtube snow tire testers). Wisely, this new location is right beside a McDonald's, so it was an easy wait as I got new tires put on. They diagnosed a problem with the rear brakes so everything was fixed at one time. Very pleased at the service and facility. Waiting room has coffee, and I could use the McDonald's wifi.:) read more

Last night, I went to Dunn tire and had a 5:00pm appointment for a slow leak in 1 tire. My car was not looked at and remained exactly where I parked it until 5:45. I was at Dunn tire for an 1 hour 45 minutes in total and was never warned or apologized to for the wait until I asked at checkout "if they are always that busy". I bought new tires and tire stems a year and a half ago at Dunn and my tires weren't sealed properly (they told me that) and there was a problem with the stem being "frozen". It seems odd that I had to pay $75 to fix what are fairly new tires, however, I'm not an expert so maybe it isn't that odd after all. While I was satisfied with the service I received, I find that a 1 hour 45 minutes service with an appointment (not walk in) is a long time to have someone waiting. read more

Myself and my wife arrived around 12 Pm with an emergency situation. Had a nail right in the middle of the tire. A flat tire that would not hold air for more than an hour... Only needed a simple plug that I would, and could have done myself, except that it would have voided my warranty. All employees, including manager made it clear that only an appointment 2 weeks out was possible. The DUNN DOZEN is an ABSOLUTE FRAUD. I'm ashamed that I sent my father, brother, and sister here. I can't give this place any stars. I went in to have 4 tires put on my car. I gave them my locking lug nut socket so they could remove my wheels. I handed it to the guy, and expected them to give it back to me when they were done. I asked for it back and they said they put it in the car. I checked the car everywhere. They claim I must have it. "We put it back in the car." WTF? Really? I am done with DUNN. Update: 4/9/18. The owner responded to me and he is mailng me out a new lock key for my lug nuts. Much appreciated. read more

Parked my car in the garage & heard hissing. Drove to Mavis on the corner of Sheridan & Parker hoping to get it fixed before it ran flat. Was told by service personnel that he couldn't help me, only had two people there & to go to the Mavis Location down Sheridan in front of Walmart. The service personnel at the second Mavis Location told me they were closing & couldn't or wouldn't help me. - I've never updated a review before and meant to do this a while ago! I believe it was Angel that helped us out tremendously due to this error. They ended up having to put in a new order, which was annoying but at least I got my tires. When I went to have the tires put on I didn't have to wait that long and there were several other people in the waiting room with me. My best advice....don't take your car there!! They are dishonest. My 24 year old daughter went here when she had a problem with her tire. They told her she needed a new tire which we expected them to say. They sold her a new tire which was on the expensive side compared to other tire dealers. The part we were very upset about was that they told her that her battery needed replacing immediately. The battery was fairly new so she told them not to replace it. They quoted her a ridiculous price for it and she hadn't had any battery problems whatsoever. When she got home and went to start her car a little while later, the battery was dead which leads us to believe that they caused it. Prior to this incident, I had taken my car to them in the past for nails in a tire, etc. Each time they told me the tire could not be repaired which I find hard to believe. I know that nail holes can be repaired in a lot of situations. There are more honest establishments out there that I will give my money to. read more

Just an update to the fiasco that was my Dunn experience - after I got home that day, I noticed that my entire alignment was off on my car (and I had just had it aligned the Monday before the new tires were put on). So I called and left a voice mail for the District Manager, Rob who quickly returned my call. He listened to what I had to say, was empathetic toward my plight and was on my side in terms of the service that I had received. He was committed to fixing everything. He sent over an assistant to pick up my car and my car was taken back to Dunn and looked at. The car was gone for the better part of the day (and I had to take a day off of work) but when it was returned, everything had been checked out on my vehicle and the car had been aligned. They really did go above and beyond to make right with their service and for that I am grateful, I had been told that I was also going to get a gift certificate to Dunn for my inconvenience but I am yet to receive that. However, my new tires are good (perfect timing with the snow) and Rob and his crew treated me respectfully and as though they actually wanted me as a customer. read more

Received a prompt email telling me the tires i selected would take a couple days to get, but that they had a comparable tire (price and quality) if I wanted to keep my appointment for the next day. I did,. Arrived at time, promptly started work on car, all tires on and ready to go in 45 min. Liked the new location, great staff. Dunn tire will match prices from other tire companies. They also give a discount to veterans. You need to make an appointment if you want to get in and out. Dunn tire for us is the place to get our tires after going all over the map to obtain good tires. We just bought 2 tires from DUNN. We drove over a nail and took it back. Dunn repaired it and now we are happy campers. Get other price quotes from other companies before signing on dotted line. Check what the price includes. Like tire removal fee etc. read more

A few days before my spring break road trip, I ran over a nail and got a flat. I was really bummed out thinking I needed to shell out around $100 for new tires. I did some online research, comparing different shops around my area and from a friend's recommendation, decided to come here. I called to check if they had my tires in stock, and set an appointment. I arrive on my appointment and the guy on the counter, asked me what was wrong with my tires. I told him that I ran over a nail and got a flat. He proceeds to explain that it might be patch-able and instead of spending over $100 for a new tire, he will see if it can be patched up for a much cheaper price. He showed me an invoice of around $7 for the patch and some TPMS configuration. Awesome. I wait around 20minutes and the guy on the counter said no need to pay the $7, and I drove home with a patched up tire all for free. Would come back again for future tire problems. read more

Over a 15 year customer. Will never go back. First they charge me for a TPMS rebuild that they never gave me an option to decline or told me it was an optional service. Display in their store even says thy last 7 years when my car is only 5 years old and never had an issue with them. Went to Dunn, 3424 Sheridan Dr., Amherst, NY on Feb 3rd for a cash tire rotation because I bought my car used and tires were not purchased at Dunn. I've been a satisfied Dunn customer for about 40 years. Sheridan Dunn said "tires would pass March inspection but he couldn't do rotation because of treadwear." (?) So I decided to buy 4 new tires but not the ones he wanted to mount. He must get paid on commission? I ordered 2 new tires of my choice, he had the same other 2 in stock. Had "no idea when the other 2 would arrive." I asked, 5 days? 1 week? 2 weeks? 3 weeks? Said, "he had no idea, he'd call me." I called Dunn, Henrietta, NY. Said "tires would arrive Feb 11th. Dunn orders tires from the same place in Pittsburgh. Dunn Sheridan should've been able to give a ballpark date of arrival." Tires arrived Feb 9, he called me. Today is Feb 11. On Sunday, May 16, 2010, I was vsiting the Buffalo, NY area and discovered I had a flat tire 60 minutes prior to me delivering a sermon at a local church. I took my vehicle to this location and when they opened, they immediately fixed the tire. When I attempted to pay, the manager on duty told me don't worry about it, because of the work I do and my desire to help other people. read more

I wish I could give Dunn Tire on Sheridan Dr. 15 stars! I had an issue with what I thought was my alignment. They quickly figured out that one of my tires was old and tearing apart. Although I needed new tires (they were past the 50k mark), they were able to get me new tires immediately. The staff is awesome, helpful, respectful, not pushy, and knowledgeable. As a woman, I always hate it when car repair places or dealerships try to rip me off. I have never felt that way at Dunn. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else besides maybe the Honda dealership if I needed too. Dunn on Sheridan is awesome. read more

We knew that my husband's car needed new tires to pass inspection, a service our regular mechanic doesn't provide, and took our '08 Hyundai Accent into this place for the tires and an inspection on a Friday. They told us we needed new tie rods and ball joints in addition to the tires and an alignment, and that it would take $1600 for the car to pass. Instead of spending more on repairs than the car is worth, we spent a weekend shopping for new cars. We have three kids and I was adamant that I didn't want to keep driving the car if it's not safe, but it didn't seem right that the car was in that bad of shape, so on Monday we called our regular guy. He sent us to Tread City Tire in North Tonawanda to get two new front tires. Then we took it back to our mechanic, who took my husband underneath to show him that the tie rods and ball joints are solid and don't need to be replaced. The car passed with no problems. Not only do I want the preliminary inspection fee back, but I also want my weekend back. I'm sure plenty of people bring their cars here and pay astronomical sums for unnecessary repairs without asking questions. Don't be one of them. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They used deceptive sale tactics and gave false promises. Do not trust their warranties as they refused to provide it in writing and if you get their warranties your wasting your money. They were over priced but I thought I was paying for piece of mind turns of I was just getting swindled I had a 70k mike warranty the tires only last 22k miles and they won't do anything to help replace them. Spent an hour on the phone just to get the run around and when I show up it's just smoke and mirrors. Turns out this is a national policy read more

I used to love this place and they were so reliable, but the last 1 and 1/2 years, it's been so awful, I actually wrote this review. They stopped calling us when our car was ready, they lost the tires they stored for us. Once they put on new winter tires that went flat a few miles after leaving the garage. Later, I asked to rotate my tires, change my oil and update the sticker. We didn't hear back for 2 days. When we finally called they said it was ready. Came to find out they forgot to change the oil (and the sticker.) Before Thanksgiving, they caught that my inspection expired in October and said would handle it. Within 4 hours of picking up my car, my headlight went out driving cross country for the holiday. I just went back to get the light changed and find out, they never did the inspection, but charged me for it. They aren't being devious, but the level of gross incompetence is too much. I don't want to go to a garage where there's a 50% chance I have to go back because they forgot something or messed something up. I keep putting off finding another place, but each time I go back, something like this happens. I think this was finally the breaking point. I'm giving two stars because of how good this place used to be once upon a time. read more

Update: I received a call from Nate at corporate. He expressed to me a sincere regret for how things played out and for the fact that my contact message slipped through the cracks at corporate. He also explained that their website does not have an inventory tracking system and that unfortunately they just hadn't updated the site as they thought they could get more right away. These (Sailun) are very popular tires in Europe and they sold out of the huge batch they had already ordered in advance as a result of their wholesale division. I am being refunded the difference in full and they plan on updating the site as soon as possible. All of my interactions with every level of employee has been positive. I work in sales management and training. Customer service, to me, is an indicator of what makes or breaks a company and its success. Dunn Tire has done what I think is the right thing by sincerely apologizing and refunding the difference. For this reason, I am updating this review to 4*. I will leave my original post below, but before you read it, understand that it is not accurate to the situation nor is it an accurate reflection of this company and how much it values its customers satisfaction. They do value you, they want you to be happy, they carry a quality product and service and, as I stated above and in the original post, I was always treated very well. Thanks for doing the right thing guys, you really did save me as a customer and from this point forward, I would recommend your company to both friends and family. I am now, very much, a happy customer. Original post-not an accurate reflection of the situation, just an unfortunate occurance which was fixed by them in the best possible way: They advertise Sailun on their website. 245/40R18 winters at $100/Tire. Come to find out that they not only don't carry them but can't order them. I sent a complaint in to their corporate offices, no answer after 3 weeks. The next Tire I could buy cost $50/Tire more. And the corporate offices never called me back or responded via email. The staff is friendly, which is the only redeeming aspect of the whole thing. They haven't changed their website after 3 weeks either. What a sham.I can't believe corporate doesn't care enough about their customers to return an email. I got my tire from this place a few months ago and it was an okay experience. However, I went in to get my tires rotated (I know I was feeling lazy to do it myself) and all seemed fine (about 2 months ago). I went to change my brake pads and they had "chewed" up one of my lug nuts to a point where I couldn't get the socket on to it. It looks like they thought it was the normal hex nut and tried to get a normal socket on there. I get that mistakes happen but it looks like they hammered the hex socket on there with a hammer. I had to take a dremel to the lug nut just to repair the damage on it and had a hell of a time getting it off. For a company that probably do this 1000 times a day, it was very sloppy and they didn't say a word about it. read more

Stopped in the other day to purchase a part for my spare tire kit. They didn't have the part, nor even an entire new kit. But their employees were very friendly, and gave some suggestions on where to find what I needed. I may try them again sometime if my regular go-to tire place doesn't have what I need. read more
